So much for cross-platform compatibility. Apple released Keynote for iCloud which works on browser so Windows users could use it but the experience is not the same. Haiku Deck will completely change the way you create, edit, share, and present slides. With an Instagram like interface, Haiku will give you instant access to over 40 million stock images. That’s a lot.  It connects with a number of social media sites to import images from there as well.

Haiku Deck offers beautiful templates that are clutter-free and are designed with their own custom font. There is an option to insert pie or bar chart on the fly. Video Review: Control Your PowerPoint through Your Phone with Office Remote for Android

Earlier this month in a somewhat “under the radar” move, Microsoft released its Office Remote for Android mobile application that allows users to start PowerPoint presentations, advance slides, see speaker notes and control an on-screen laser pointer with a touch of a finger—all directly through the free Android app.

We were excited to see Office Remote in action and decided to check it out for ourselves. After using it for a few days with a variety of presentations, we were pretty impressed with the app’s capabilities and responsiveness. Many mobile presentation apps simply replicate what a presentation remote can do in a somewhat less reliable way, but this app brought new features and capabilities that make it an easy recommendation for PowerPoint users.

• Easy Bluetooth connection: We’ve experimented with apps that rely on network WiFi connections in the past and have had difficulty getting them to work reliably, especially on corporate networks. Office Remote relies on a Bluetooth connection between the phone and presenting computer so the pairing process went much more smoothly for us.

• Easy software install: The install process for the program was pretty simple. Download and install the Microsoft Office Remote PC Setup on the computer you’re using for the presentation and download the Office Remote app on your Android smartphone. Go through the setup on each and you’re ready to present!

• Responsiveness: We had no problems with lag during our experiments with the app and found the performance to be equally as responsive as any presentation remote we’ve used with PowerPoint.

• Jump to Slide: In addition to previewing the next slide in your presentation, you can use the app to scroll through all your slides and pick any one of them to jump to. The audience only sees the slide you were on and the slide you clicked, so it’s a much more professional way to jump to a different part of the presentation versus aggressively clicking through an entire deck with a presentation remote!

• No horizontal mode: The app only opened and worked in vertical mode, with the forward and backward buttons taking up half the screen. We would’ve liked to see a horizontal option so the slide previews could take up more screen space. While vertical mode is probably ideal for a presenter holding the phone will walking around, horizontal mode would make it easier for a presenter to place the phone on a stand or podium during a presentation.

• No iOS support: Office Remote is currently unavailable to iPhone and iPad users. Hopefully the Android release signals Microsoft’s willingness to open this app up to more users, so perhaps iOS will be the next step.

PowerPoint, the presentation program is part of Microsoft's Office Suite. The original plan for its name was "Presenter". An Android phone that supports Miracast. For example:

A large screen that supports Miracast.

The exact steps vary depending on the brand of your phone. This procedure, like the video above, describes the process on a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Note8.

On your phone, slide down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings.

Tap Smart View to open that app.

Smart View looks for a nearby monitor that supports Miracast. When it finds the monitor, it connects the phone and the monitor. If multiple screens are available, they'll be listed on your phone screen. Tap a name to connect to it.

When the connection between the phone and the monitor is established, the contents of your screen appear on the monitor.

Navigate through the presentation as you normally would, tapping the forward and back arrows on the left and right side of the slide on your phone.

To turn on the laser pointer, press and hold the slide. Once it appears, move the pointer by dragging.

Operation Step to Mirror PowerPoint

Step 1. Download and install iMyFone MirrorTo on the PC. Launch the program once you are through installing it.

Step 2. Use a USB cable to connect your Android device, like Samsung, Xiaomi. Make sure that your device and computer is well-connected. Connect both of your devices using a data cable. Then select "Transfer files" .

Office Remote unavailable on Android phone

Hi support team,

I am an Android phone user and I wish to turn my phone into a remote when I am presenting using Powerpoint. I have done some research and came across Office Remote. Your website said it supports Windows and Android phones: Office Remote Help for Windows Phone 8 and Android Phone - Microsoft Support

However, it says the app is unavailable to download on Google Store now. Is there any alternative way I can turn my phone into a presentation remote? Is Desktop Remote possibly another solution?

Based on your description, please refer to this article https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pptremotecontrol.android.presenter&hl=en   in the Google Play store to see if you can download it.

Another solution was to download the APK for the app, just search for " Office Remote Android APK " and download the 1.2.0.0 version. But in this way, you would have to side load it onto your device and also finding a copy that is legit (no viruses / malware).

If the above method can't work, please try the suggestions mentioned by John Korchok and have a check.

Office Remote only worked with Office 2013 and was removed from app stores years ago. As alternatives, check the Google Play store for the apps below. I haven't used any of these, but it sounds like they might do what you want for remote control:

It still works on Office 365 (latest version) and Windows 10 and Android 12.

It shows that "This app is not compatible on your phone". I'm using Pixel 7 with Android 13.

I'm running motorola edge 20 with Android 13 and it still runs.

Notably I am a long time Office Remote user and I just upgraded to a Pixel 7a and was disappointed to find the same error. My last two phones came from OnePlus and had no trouble running the app. It's a great app and I have no idea why it isn't being maintained.

Microsoft Office Remote can still work as normal in Office 365 and 2021. It can control not only PowerPoint, but also Word and Excel. It cannot be completely replaced by those apps.

I have downloaded Office-Remote from an alternative web site supplier (apkmirror or apkpure, I don't remember) few years ago.

It still works really well with windows10 and Android13.

There is absolument no bug at all (extremely rare for an old app not supported anymore from years) and I still use it in classrooms everyday.

Microsoft has built the best app for its Office suite and never impose any updates on it so I think it is the longest really usefull app they never built. I sincerely regret it has been removed from the PlayStore too much early. I had to download it from alternative web site where I am not really sure about the install file health... (malewares etc...)

Office remote has a high potential in teaching as it is the only app I found using efficiently only Bluetooth connection. In French school environments I work, wifi and LAN computers and smartphones cannot find each other and connect them both.

With Office-Remote I can work with my own USB-bluetooth receiver plugged on the PC and my Android smartphone.

Why has this marvelous free Android app been removed from PlayStore ? With its high quality, it is so usefull, I could pay to buy it...
