• A monthly stipend is similar to a reward given to Saudi students in the same stage.
• An amount of (1000) Saudi Riyal is given to the student as an excellent reward in case of getting excellent marks in every academic year.

King Saud University Scholarships In Saudi Arabia 2023-24 Eligibility

To be considered for the King Saud University Scholarship, you must:

• Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.

• Have not previously studied in a similar program in Saudi Arabia.
• Be medically fit.
• Not be more than twenty-five (25) years.

The submitted documents should be fully ratified and authenticated by the following authorities:

• The Ministry of Education in the country from which the secondary certificate was issued or its substitute
• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs or its representative in the country where the secondary certificate was issued
• The documents submitted for the equivalency should be free from any scraping or modification in its data and the name of the owner is identical to his name in his previous study documents and in the passport.

Admissions Requirements at King Saud University for International Students

Saudi universities have fairly strict admission requirements, and KSU is no exception. Each applicant will have to obtain approval from their native country. Their school certificates then need to be attested by an Islamic authority.

Students are also required to provide all types of documentation, including medical clearance, police records, three recent photos, and others. There are also language requirements. A sufficient TOEFL or IELTS score is needed for English programs, but knowledge of Arabic is also a must.

Additionally, graduate applicants will need to hold a bachelor’s degree up to par with Saudi standards, and there is also a GPA requirement for most of the faculties that students can apply to. All students are required to attend a course in the Arabic language before being eligible for admission.

Stipends and their Dispensing Policy 

  - Stipends are paid to all Saudi students attending undergraduate and graduate studies and  not having in any governmental job, as well as foreign scholarship students  and students of Saudi mothers .Stipends are deposited in students' bank accounts, noting that  ATM cards are given to them by their respective colleges. The stipend amount is (SR 1000) for scientific studies students,(SR 850) for social studies and humanities students, and (SR900) for graduate studies students.

  - Stipends are paid regularly during all the original period, i.e.  the scheduled program period for graduation according to the study plan approved by the University Board. For example, the original period of the Art Faculty is four years. It is calculated as of the semester in which the student is admitted to the university, including withdrawal and transfer semesters , but excluding deferral semesters.

  - Stipends are not paid for the summer session unless the student joins the university during it, or studies the second semester preceding the summer session.

  - Stipends are not paid to students who withdraw from or postpone the semester.

  - Stipends are not be paid to warned students whose GPAs  are below (2).

  - Stipends are not paid to King Saud University students who get the approval of the deanship to study as a visitor at another university, until their exam results are received and entered on the academic system.

  - SR 10 is deducted monthly from the stipend for the Student Fund.

  - If the student does not draw the stipend within three months, it will be transferred to the Student Fund.

Payment Time of the stipend King Saud University, representedin the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, is keen to pay stipends on time. Stipend payment is announced on  the Deanship website and  in some national newspapers.

•  Students may check their stipend status through his account on the academic system portal by clicking on the stipend link. Students can review their stipend history along with the paid amounts. By clicking on the detail link, the financial details are displayed.   
•  Students should proceed to receive their ATM cards from theDeanship of Preparatory Year if they are freshmen, and from their colleges if not.

Notice Students should check with the Deanship in the event that the stipend is due, but has not appeared on their accounts on the portal.

Location Male Students  - Department of  Stipends, Deanship of Admissions and Registration on the university campus. Female Students  -  Department of Admissions and Registration for Female Students/ Building 22, on the university campus for female students in  Dir'iyya.   Excellence Rewards   Excellence rewards are restricted to Saudi  undergraduate students and international scholarship students. -  An excellence reward of SR 1000 is disbursed  to students who achieve an excellent rating for two semesters in one academic year. The reward is deposited in  the student's  account. As for the students whose their stipends are stopped owing to the exhaustion of the original period of study, they need to receive the excellence reward check from the college.   Entitlement  to  Excellence Rewards

  - An excellence reward of SR 1000 is paid to the regular student if he/she gets an excellent GPA rating of  ( 4.50 ) in two consecutive semesters of  the same academic year in accordance with the following equation: (Number of points of the first semester + number of points of the second semester ) / ( number of credit units of the first semester + number of credit units of the second semester) .

  - It is paid to the regular student if he/she gets an excellent semester rating of (4.50 ) and has withdrawn from a semester in the same academic year .

  - It is paid to the regular student if he/she gets an excellent semester rating of (4.50 ) and has deferred a semester in the same academic year .

  - It is paid to the regular student if he/she gets an excellent semester rating of (4.50 ) and has a semester average of (0) as a result of entering the rating (P) next to a passed course.

  - It is paid to the regular student if he/she gets an excellent semester rating of (4.50 ) and has joined the University in the second semester .

  - It is paid to the graduated student if he/she gets an excellent semester rating of (4.50 ) in two consecutive semesters in the same academic year .

  - It is paid to the graduated student in the first semester if he/she gets an excellent semester rating of (4.50 ).

  - Graduated students are treated as  regular students according to paragraphs  (A,B).

  - It is not paid to a student if he/she has a course rated as incomplete or pending.

  - It is not paid to the regular student if he/she gets an excellent semester rating of (4.50) and has a semester average of (0) as a result of having a course rated as fail (F).

Book and Reference Allowance for Graduate Students

  - The graduate student is paid(SR 900)as books and reference allowance for each academic year, (SR 3000)printing allowance for the Master's thesis, and (SR 4000 )for the PhD dissertation.

  - Thebook and reference allowance is deposited in the student's account (non- employee) if his/her student number begins with 430 and above. Conditionally, he/she has registration and grades entered in the same semester. However, the student can receive the allowance from the accountant in his/her college if his student number begins with 429 and below. As for the graduate student who is employed at King Saud University, he/she can receive the allowance from the Deanship of Personnel.

  - The Master's thesis and PhD  dissertation  printing allowance is deposited in the student's account (non- employee) after a grade is entered for him/her in the same graduation semester provided that his status on the academic system is graduated. As for the graduate student who is employed at the University of King Saud, he/she can receive printing allowance for the above-mentioned printing allowance from the Deanship of Personnel.

Program information.

It became scientifically important to raise the scientific and technology level of Saudi leaderships and decision makers in the information technology fields. This can be achieved through university graduate programs. The Kingdom’s Information Technology National Plan shows that there is a fast growing demand in the next decade for cadre in advanced scientific and professional areas of computers and communication technologies. The study proposed number of recommendations to address the high shortage level of specialized cadres in information technology. The most important of which is to increase the recourses of the information technology departments, the expansion in postgraduate programs to qualify Saudi teaching staff and academic faculty. Another important recommendation is to facilitate the attraction of distinguished scholars and scientists in information technology in order to transfer of expertise and learning from the international experiences. From these standpoints, a graduate joint Ph.D. program between 3 departments of the college is proposed herewith to contribute to provide graduate studies and advanced research in the fields of computer science, computer engineering and information systems. This will contribute in creating qualified researchers and faculty members in the area of computer and information sciences.

Educational Objectives:

• To promote advanced research and scientific publication and to contribute to the future scientific and technical world advancement in computer science and engineering, and information technology;
• To prepare highly specialized scholars, professionals and Saudis research personnel, manpower and expertise that meet the Saudi society development needs, and jobs demand; and support the successful transfer of advanced information technologies in industry, academic and scientific sectors. 
• To create solutions for the persistent IT problems in the public and governmental institutions through a higher level of applied research and IT technology transfer;
• To provide graduate students and Saudis researchers with skills, means, methodology, innovation and scientific approaches necessary for distinguished professionals in IT sectors.
• Applicant must hold a full-time bachelor's degree in any computer discipline from KSU or any accredited university, with a minimum of "Very Good" (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
• Applicant must hold a full-time master's degree in information systems or computer-related disciplines from KSU or any accredited university, with a minimum of "Very Good" (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent; for relevant disciplines, the applicant must refer to the concerned department before starting the application process on the electronic portal.
• An applicant must submit an English language test result. 
• An applicant must submit GRE GENRAL test result.
• Applicant's CV along with copies of all required documents.
• Submission of an essay pointing out research interests, publications, awards, etc. as well as clearly enumerating at least three research interests arranged according to priority (along with copies of all relevant documents. 

Degree Requirements:

• 3 credit hours of program general courses or university graduate courses as approved by the supervisor.
• 6 credit hours outside student’s track from the common courses offered by other tracks of the program.
• 7 credit hours of compulsory courses in student’s track. 
• 9 credit hours of elective courses in student’s track.
• No more than two courses from Master Program level are counted for the course requirements in the PhD program.
• To pass a comprehensive exam in his specialty or other subspecialties decided by the program council and according to the general rules for the comprehensive exam as issued by the deanship of graduate studies
• Completion and successful defense of an original thesis.
• To publish or obtain an acceptance for at least one publication in a specialized referred venue according to student’s track.

KSU Postdoctoral Fellowship is one to three year award under the supervision of the Research and Development Office, Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia. The KSU is looking for an early career researcher with a strong scientific background who has graduated from a recognised university to conduct genuine scientific research. The postdoctoral fellowship will cover training, consumable materials, the patents registration process and participation in international conferences.

Fully Funded King Saud University Scholarship in KSA 2022-23

Introduction.

The King Saud University Scholarship is now open for eligible and qualified international students willing to study in Saudi Arabia.

The King Saud University Scholarship is a fully-funded award with a full exemption of students from tuition fees, accommodation, and study costs, as well as an extra $266 annual reward for excellent academic performance.

The King Saud University scholarship also offers selected candidates airfare return tickets to their home countries and adequate medical care throughout the period of the programme.

• A monthly stipend is similar to a reward given to Saudi students in the same stage.
• An amount of (1000) Saudi Riyal is given to the student as an excellence reward in case of getting excellent marks in every academic year.
• The student is given an economy class ticket to come to the Kingdom for the first time, a round trip ticket at the end of each academic to his country, and a one-way ticket at the end of his studying.
• The student will live in the university dorm free of charge.
• Free treatment will be provided to the student in all university hospitals
• A reduction in the value of the student’s books weight at the end of his study on Saudi Arabian Airlines.

Eligibility

To be considered for the King Saud University Scholarship, you must:

• must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• have on the average, a very good secondary school certificate  have not previously studied in a similar program in Saudi Arabia.
• be medically fit.
• not be more than twenty-five (25) years.

must have (a close family member) residency in the Saudi Arabia or applying for the scholarship  (Female applicants) 

Required Documents

To apply for King Saud University Scholarship, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

• Application Form
• International Passport
• Original copies of academic transcripts
• Recommendation letters
• a color copy of the original high school certificate.

The submitted documents should be fully ratified and authenticated by the following authorities:

• The Ministry of Education in the country from which the secondary certificate was issued or its substitute
•  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs or its representative in the country where the secondary certificate was issued

 The documents submitted for the equivalency should be free from Any scraping or modification in its data and that the name of the owner is identical to his name in his previous study documents and in the passport.

AAOIFI – IsDB 18th Annual Islamic Banking and Finance Conference

“Strategies for the Impending Economic Slowdown and a Post Oil World: Through Economic Diversification and Leveraging Islamic Finance” Wednesday & Thursday 15-16 Jumada al-awwal 1445 H, 29-30 November 2023, Kingdom of Bahrain

About the event

The Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) together with the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), represented by IsDB Institute (IsDBI), is set to host the 18th edition of its annual Islamic banking and finance conference supported by the Central Bank of Bahrain. The two-day conference will be held physically at the Crowne Plaza, in Kingdom of Bahrain, on 29-30 November 2023, with the theme “Strategies for the Impending Economic Slowdown and a Post Oil World: Through Economic Diversification and Leveraging Islamic Finance”.

The two-day conference will feature keynote addresses from dignitaries and policymakers, as well as, seven panel discussion sessions. The panel discussions will examine the role of Islamic finance and Islamic fintech in diversifying economic activity in the Muslim countries, challenges and opportunities resulting from Inflation and high benchmark rates, and the use of Islamic finance in the development of infrastructure for climate change mitigation. In addition, the challenges of Sukuk Shari’ah compliance and governance and Islamic finance accounting for hyperinflation will be discussed.

AAOIFI is also organising the first-ever ‘Capacity Building Week’, which will begin on 28 November 2023 and run through 04 December 2023, after conference on 29-30 November 2023. The five-day celebration of human capital development in Islamic finance is expected to attract more than 200 trainees from at least 30 countries to participate in 17 concurrent workshops led by around 25 master trainers.

KAU Scholarships for Cultural Exchange and the Gulf Cooperation Council Students

KAU offers an academic seat for a non-Saudi candidate and it is an official scholarship according to special agreements approved by sublime directives (cultural exchange) within the signatory countries such as the Gulf Cooperation Council States and Yemen… etc.

It is divided into two parts:

Fixed External Scholarships: residing outside the Kingdom and obtaining a study visa.

Fixed Internal Scholarships: a resident inside the Kingdom.

1- The Applicant must have a university degree from an accredited college or university and should have a degree with “very good” at least. (Graduation certificates & transcripts have to be certified from Saudi Embassy).

2- The Applicant’s age does not exceed (40) years For PhD, and (35) years for Masters.

3- The Applicant must have a record of good Conduct and must be medically fit.

4- Recommendation letters should be submitted from two of his former professors

5- For internal scholarship students, (65) is minimum required scores in General Aptitude Test (GAT) for university students at National Center for Assessment.

6- The Applicant must not have been dismissed from any university in the kingdom.

7- An approved exam in English is required for applicant whose first language is not English. The approved exams and minimum required scores are listed below:

8- The student has to obtain a nomination letter from the competent authorities in his country and has to get the approval of the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom for his nomination.

9- Admission to Health Sciences Programs (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Applied Medical Sciences, Nursing and others) are unavailable.
