What is the best paper to use when mailing a resume as part of a job application?
I guess this goes along with my post concerning the best font to use for your resume .
I actually have a very specific answer to this question.
For more than a decade now, we’ve been printing hard copies of people’s resumes as an add-on feature to our resume writing service.
And in all that time, we’ve used the same paper.
I’ll tell you all about it, but first, let me make clear: I’m not getting paid or receiving any other consideration for the endorsement I’m about to make.
Having said that, in the r esume writing industry, Southworth is the only paper brand most of us use. You can find a wide range of Southworth paper products at most of the “big box” office supply retailers like Staples or Office Depot .
The specific type of paper I recommend using is Southworth Business Paper, 32lb, 100% Cotton, 8 1/2″x11″ and WHITE.

Might want to make sure to proofread what you put on that great paper — change to “too showy” and “too formal”.

I believe as well as Staples, UPS, FedEx, Office Depot, and possibly a local post office should have some. Call first for prices. Also internet cafes and local libraries and schools. Staples has always been the best price I've seen outside of asking a friend to print some. 2.
You can also print like 25 resumes on resume paper at the boilercopy place in the union for like $4. Don't. Standard office paper is just fine for the career fair. When you get the interview you can have a few copies on nice paper but for the purposes of the fair don't waste your time.
Surprised nobody said this yet, but just go to the UMN print shop in the bottom floor of Coffman and give them the USB or email them the pdf, and they will give show you a few options of resume paper.

If you need color you could print at UNM for .35c a page single-side (.50 for double). You will need to make a WEPA account and load the account with $ to avoid a .40c credit/debit card fee. You don't need a student ID or to be a UNM student to use the printers, and they can be found all over campus.
I'm looking for a place to print my resume on resume template paper or card stock paper. The library told me SICTR had a printing services, but I couldn't find it. Is it on the 2nd floor? Would I need to bring my own blank card stock paper to print on?
Maybe UPS? I don't know if the PMU one offers that type of printing. Or you can try to buy heavier paper/resume paper and print it yourself. Is the PMU one still open? I thought it closed with the rest of the basement. UPS is on the main floor. Basement is still closed till next year.
