The UPSC Civil Services Exam allows Bengali as an optional subject in the Mains exam. The UPSC Bengali syllabus for UPSC 2024 covers Bengali literature’s history, prominent authors and their literary works, major poetry and prose styles, grammar, and the cultural backdrop of notable writings. UPSC Bengali Syllabus 2024 Overview

The UPSC permits Bengali as an optional literature subject for the Civil Services Main Exam. As one of the 22 official Indian languages under the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, Bengali has a rich literature and illustrious history of translations, original works and philosophy.

Bengali Language Syllabus for UPSC CSE 2024

Since Bengali literature requires expertise, candidates who have formally studied it or have Bengali as their native language should opt for this UPSC optional subject. Answers must be written in the Bengali script. The Bengali optional has two papers (Paper I and Paper II) in the UPSC Civil Services Main Exam, each carrying 250 marks making a total of 500 marks.

সুপ্রিয় বন্ধুরা, আজ আপনাদের ইউপিএসসি পরীক্ষার সিলেবাস টি প্রদান করলাম। যেটিতে ইউপিএসসি পরীক্ষার নিয়োগ পক্রিয়া, নম্বর বিভাজন, সিলেবাস প্রভৃতি সমস্ত কিছু বাংলা ভাষায় খুব সুন্দরভাবে দেওয়া আছে। সুতরাং দেরী না করে সিলেবাসটি দেখে নিন এবং প্রয়োজনে পিডিএফ ফাইলটি সংগ্রহ করে নিন।

নিয়োগ পদ্ধতি

প্রিলিমিনারি পরীক্ষা, মেন পরীক্ষা.

ইউপিএসসি প্রিলিমিনারি পরীক্ষায় ২০০ নম্বরের দুটি পেপার থাকে। যথা-

  • General Studies Paper-I
  • General Studies Paper-II (CSAT)

প্রথম পেপারটিতে প্রশ্ন থাকে ১০০টি এবং দ্বিতীয় পেপারটিতে প্রশ্ন থাকে ৮০টি। দুটি পেপারেরই সময়সীমা থাকে ২ ঘণ্টা। দুটি পেপারই অবজেক্টিভ টাইপের হয়ে থাকে এবং নেগেটিভ মার্কিং থাকে, তিনটি ভুল উত্তরের জন্য এক নম্বর কাটা হয়। এই দুটি পেপারের মধ্যে প্রথমে দ্বিতীয় পেপারটি মূল্যায়ন করা হয়। দ্বিতীয় পেপারটি হল কোয়ালিফায়িং কোশ্চেন পেপার। এই দ্বিতীয় পেপারে অন্ততপক্ষে ৩৩% নম্বর পেতে হবে। যদি কোনো প্রার্থী দ্বিতীয় পেপারে ৩৩% নম্বর না পেয়ে থাকেন তাহলে তার প্রথম পেপারটি মূল্যায়ন করা হয় না অর্থাৎ সেই প্রার্থীকে মেন পরীক্ষার জন্য অনুত্তীর্ণ বলে ধরে নেওয়া হয়।

আর যেসকল প্রার্থীরা দ্বিতীয় পেপারটিতে ৩৩% বা তার বেশি নম্বর পান তাদের প্রথম পেপারটি মূল্যায়ন করা হয় এবং কাট অফ মার্কস ক্লিয়ার করলে তাদের মেন পরীক্ষায় বসার সুযোগ দেওয়া হয়। 

ইউপিএসসি মেন পরীক্ষায় প্রথমে ৩০০ নম্বরের দুটি (Paper-A ও Paper-B) ভাষার পরীক্ষা দিতে হয়। Paper-A -টি হল ইন্ডিয়ান ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ পেপার, যেটি ভারতের যেকোনো ভাষায় দেওয়া যায়। Paper-B -টি হল ইংলিশ পেপার। দুটি পেপারেরই সময়সীমা থাকে ৩ ঘণ্টা। এই দুটি পেপারের নম্বর মেরিট লিস্টে যোগ হয়না, তবে পেপার দুটিতে পাশ করতে হয়।

এরপর থাকে ২৫০ নম্বর করে ৫টি কম্পালসরি পেপার এবং ২টি অপশনাল পেপার। অর্থাৎ মোট ৭টি ২৫০ নম্বরের পেপার মিলিয়ে ১৭৫০ নম্বরের পরীক্ষা হয়। প্রত্যেকটি পেপারের সময়সীমা থাকে ৩ ঘণ্টা।

সর্বশেষ ধাপ হল ইন্টারভিউ। ২৭৫ নম্বরের ইন্টারভিউ নেওয়া হয়ে থাকে। মেন পরীক্ষা ও ইন্টারভিউ এর নম্বর যোগ করে অর্থাৎ ১৭৫০ ও ২৭৫ মোট ২০২৫ নম্বরের ভিত্তিতে চূড়ান্ত মেধা তালিকা প্রকাশ করা হয়।

UPSC mains language optional paper Bengali is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the Indian Subcontinent. It is the national and official language of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and the official language of some eastern and north-eastern states of the Republic of India, including West Bengal, Tripura, Assam (Barak Valley) and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is also one of the 22 scheduled languages of India. With over 250 million speakers, Bengali is the seventh most spoken native language in the world by population.

UPSC Aspirants should follow exam tips to write the exam. Preparation tips are needed for any exam. UPSC exam should be conducted once in every year. Planning and hard work are very important to face any competitive exam. Below are some of the tips for preparation. Each UPSC mains Bengali paper consists of 250 marks. The duration for each Bengali language mains paper is 3 hours.

Step 3: Prepare a Study Plan

The study plan is very important for every exam preparation. It plays a key role in the success of getting a good score in the UPSC exam.  Prepare a study plan for the UPSC exam. Make a monthly plan, weekly plan and daily schedule to prepare UPSC Bengali Optional Paper . Allot the time for exam preparation and set the time for playing, eating, watching TV, and studying.

Who should opt for Bengali?

People in some eastern and north-eastern states of the Republic of India, including West Bengal, Tripura, Assam (Barak Valley) and Andaman and Nicobar Islands mainly choose Bengali as their optional subject in UPSC. If one is really good in the Bengali language and has control over it he can surely score good marks in the subject. Students should have good writing skills if they choose language subjects as optional. Any aspirant with no prior knowledge of the Bengali language should not opt for it. He/She may score well in Paper I which is like general studies but Paper-II becomes the eliminating factor if it is not covered exhaustively.

How much time does it take to prepare?

Hello Rana pratap singh,.                                                                                                                                          Yes, you can write your GS paper in English and essay paper in Hindi of UPSC  mains.                                                                                                                     Now UPSC provides options to write GS and Optional papers in different mediums (Since 2018). If you choose to write GS and Essay papers in Hindi and Optional Paper in English you can do it.

One thing that you should be remembered here is that if you write GS and essay in English then, you have to write optional in English. You can write GS and essay in your comfort language but you need to write in english as an optional

You will get these option while filling the application form for prelim. UPSC ask optional subject and medium both for GS & Essay papers and Optional subject separately in the preliminary stage itself. So, you get sufficient time to get yourself ready and mater in the chosen language.                                                                                                                       ALL THE BEST.
