Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU) is a dynamic institution of higher learning, set in a rural milieu of southern Tamil Nadu, with a campus spread of 550 acres. The University was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu as a teaching-cum-affiliating University on 7th September, 1990 to cater to the long-felt needs of the people of the four southern most districts of Tamil Nadu viz., Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari.

It is Named after the renowned Tamil Poet scholar, Professor P. Sundaram Pillai (1855-1897), the author of the famous verse drama Manonmaniam. It is his poem that has become “Tamil Thaai Vazhthu” the official invocation song sung in all functions in Tamilnadu.

• The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will be generated only after successful payment by the Candidate.
• If fee payment is not successful, the candidate should approach the concerned Bank to ensure the payment details or to obtain the refund of payments.
• Usage of Data and Information: Manonmaniam Sundaranar University/Government of Tamil Nadu can use the data provided by the candidates for internal purpose(s) including training, research and development, analysis and other permissible purpose(s). However, this information is not for use by any third party or private agency for any other use.
• Candidates shall ensure that the information entered by them in their respective online Application Form is correct.
• Information provided by the candidates in their respective online Application Form, like name of candidate, contact details, category, PwD status, educational qualification, date of birth, choice of exam zone, etc. will be treated as final. Any request for change in such particulars after the closure of correction period will not be considered.

• Hall Ticket shall be downloaded from the website of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University.
• Candidates shall appear at their own cost at the Examination Centre on the date of examination as per the instruction given in the Hall Ticket.
• ID Proof (Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original)- PAN card / Driving Licence / Voter ID/Passport / Aadhaar Card). The name on the photo identification must match with the name as shown on the Hall Ticket.)
• Being in possession of any item or article which has been prohibited or can be used for Unfair Practices including any stationery item, communication device, accessories, eatable items, ornaments or any other material or information relevant or not relevant to the Examination in the paper concerned;
• Using someone to write Examination (impersonation) or preparing material for copying;
• Breaching Examination rules or any direction issued by State Nodal Agency in connection with TNSET.
• Assisting other candidate to engage in malpractices, giving or receiving assistance directly or indirectly of any kind or attempting to do so.
• Writing questions or answers on any material given by the Centre Superintendent for writing answers.
• Contacting or communicating or trying to do so with any person, other than the Examination Staff, during the Examination time in the Examination Centre.
• Threatening any of the officials connected with the conduct of the Examination or threatening any of the candidates.
• Using or attempting to use any other undesirable method or means in connection with the examination.
• Manipulation and fabrication of online documents viz. Hall Ticket, Self-Declaration, etc.
• Forceful entry in /exit from Examination Centre/Hall.
• Use or attempted use of any electronic device after entering the Examination Centre.
• Affixing/uploading of wrong/morphed photographs/signatures on the Application Form/Hall Ticket /Performa.
• Creating obstacles in smooth and fair conduct of examination.
• In case it is found at any time in future that the Candidate has used / uploaded the photograph and signature of someone else in his/ her Application Form / Hall Ticket or he/she has tampered his/her Hall Ticket / result, these acts of the candidate shall be treated as Unfair Means (UFM) Practices on his/her part and he/she shall be proceeded with the actions as contemplated under the provisions of the Information Bulletin relating to Unfair Means Practices.
• Candidates are NOT allowed to carry Instruments, Geometry or Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Earphone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the Examination Hall/Room.
• Smoking, chewing gutka, spitting etc. in the Examination Room/Hall is strictly prohibited.
• If any candidate is in possession of any of the above item, his/ her candidature will be treated as unfair means and lead to cancellation of the current Examination & also debar the candidate for future examination(s) & the material will be seized. In any violation of the above by the candidate, the decision of the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University is final.

Eligibility criteria for msu tirunelveli phd admission 2024 (jan).

• Candidates who have passed Master’s Degree through Open University system are not eligible.
• Candidates who have secured their Master’s Degree and M.Phil. with 55% or its equivalent grade of marks (relaxation of 5% of marks to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer)/differently abled under (10+2)+3+2 pattern of courses of study shall be eligible for Ph.D. programme.
• Final Mark Statement of PG/M.Phil. is mandatary for Ph.D online Registration.

Candidates with fellowship/scholarship in UGC- NET/UGC–CSIR NET/ GATE/CEED/ SET qualifications are exempted from Qualifying Entrance Examination. However they have to register for Interview/Counselling

Selection Process

• Candidates have to appear for entrance test, followed by an interview.
• Entrance Examination will be conducted in the subjects of Master Degree obtained by the candidate.

However they should have to register for Interview/Counselling for admission. Their entrance mark 70% and PG mark 30% will be taken for ranking and merit list.

NOTE: If that candidates want to improve their entrance marks, they shall apply (fresh) for the Entrance Exam.

Bharat Ratna Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Centenary Research Fellowship amount of Rs.5,000/- per month (other than scholars getting fellowship from other funding agencies) will be awarded for the academic year to the top ranking Ph. D. full time scholars doing research in the University Departments, based on their Entrance mark 70% and PG mark 30%.

Applications are open to Graduate Degree Programs in MS, MPhil & PhD (Research-Based) and MS (Course-Based) for the Fall Semester, Session 2023-24. Interested candidates shall submit an Online Admission Application available at the University’s official website www.uop.edu.pk or by visiting http://gadmissions.uop.edu.pk from 7th September 2023.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

ELIGIBILITY FOR MS/MPHIL:

• Candidates having relevant BS/M.A/M.Sc degree or equivalent (minimum 16 years of education) with at least a CGPA of 2.5/4.0 (in Semester System) or 2nd Division (in Annual System) from a HEC recognized University, shall be eligible for admission.
• The candidates should pass university admission test by obtaining at least 50% marks OR already have a valid GRE/HAT General/NTS/ETC/ETS test score of at least 50% marks.

ELIGIBILITY FOR PhD:

• Candidates having relevant MS/MPhil (minimum 18 years of education) degree with at least a CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (in Semester System) from a recognized University, shall be eligible for admission. 
• The candidates should pass university admission test by obtaining at least 60% marks OR already have a valid GRE/HAT General/NTS/ETC/ETS test score of at least 60% marks.

ADMISSION SCHEDULE:

Most important instructions:.

• A candidate who already has a valid GRE/HAT General/NTS/ETC/ETS score card is not required to appear in departmental test to be conducted by the concerned department/institute /centre/college for Fall 2023-24 admissions.
• The concerned department/institute/centre/college will inform all the candidates of their departmental test date, time and venue.
• Only those candidates will be considered for admission whose results are properly declared/notified by the Controller of Examinations on or before 19th September 2023.
• Candidates employed in any Government or Semi-Government department/ organization must submit a No Objection Certificate from the concerned department/organization prior to provisional admission.
• Provision of hostel accommodation will be subject to the availability of seats and shall not be claimed as a matter of right.
• If found ineligible during scrutiny, the candidate shall not be allowed to appear in the interview even if he/she has qualified for the GRE/HAT General/NTS/ETC/ETS or departmental test. Further, if the candidate appears in the interview and is later found to be ineligible for any reason, his/her admission will be cancelled at any stage. 
• In case of ambiguity about eligibility, the opinion of the Graduate Studies Committee of the concerned department will be considered final. 
• All the HEC/University of Peshawar rules/regulations shall be applicable to the admitted scholars.
• The University reserves the right to make changes in any program/admission procedure/regulations when and where deemed necessary.
• Admission fee once deposited shall not be refunded.

The MCAT is administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). The AAMC develops and delivers the test, and also provides services to medical schools and applicants throughout the admissions process.

MCAT can be taken up to three times in a single testing year, which runs from January 1st to December 31st. The AAMC has established a limit of seven attempts in a lifetime, which includes all attempts made in the past, even if some of those attempts were cancelled or voided.
