How to Find Sims 4 Lost Homework: What To Do When Homework is Missing

Oh no, your sim’s homework is not in their inventory! Here’s how to quickly fix the sims 4 missing homework glitch.

What to do if you lost homework in Sims 4?

There are really only two things you can do if your sim’s homework is lost: you can look for it by checking all the places missing homework usually ends up or you can buy new homework.

If you need more help than that, you’ll find it all in this post!

First, I’ll go over the best places to find lost homework then I’ll show you all the easy ways you buy new homework (university homework included!)

Places to Check for Sims 4 Missing Homework

The most obvious explanation is that it’s somewhere in or around your sim’s home.

Check all around your lot for the lost homework. Child sims love to stop doing their homework and leave it randomly in the middle of the floor!

If your sim was doing homework at a community lot , it’s likely they set it down and it’s somewhere around there.

If your sim tries to leave the community lot without bringing their homework, usually you’ll get a notification that it’s been returned to their inventory when your sim gets back home.

I know I already told you to look around your sim’s lot, but just in case you didn’t already, check any bookshelves around the house . It may have been put away in there.

And lastly, if your sim’s homework isn’t in their inventory, maybe it’s in someone else’s.

View the inventory of all the sims in your household to check that the lost homework wasn’t stolen!

How to Buy Homework in Sims 4

If you can’t find your sim’s homework notebook, there are 4 ways to buy new homework in Sims 4: bookshelf, computer, university kiosk, or build mode by unlocking hidden objects .

I’ll take you through how to buy new homework using each of these methods.

And in case you were worried, it doesn’t affect your sim’s homework completion level if they lose it and have to buy new. Your sim’s homework will still be listed as complete if they had completed it before it went missing!

To buy homework using a bookshelf, click ‘ purchase books ‘ and then select ‘ homework books ‘ from the drop-down categories.

This will allow you to buy all the possible homework types in Sims 4 including:

• grade school homework
• homework (high school)
• university homework
• soccer team playbook
• teacher’s padfolio of student homework

Prices vary, but high school, university, and grade school homework is 1 simoleon.

Keep in mind that when you buy homework with the bookshelf, the new homework will be on the bookshelf.

After buying, you need to open the bookshelf and place it in your sim’s inventory.

To buy homework in sims 4 using the computer, you’ll follow almost exactly the same steps you did when buying with the bookshelf.

I have a mod in my game that makes the computer setup more organized, so my sim’s computer menu looks different. (You can find it at #32 on my list of must-have sims 4 mods !✨)

But all you have to do is find the ‘ purchase books ‘ option and then select ‘ homework books ‘ from the drop-down categories, just like you did with the bookshelf.

This time, the new homework will be put directly into your sim’s inventory!

If your sim is in college and lost their homework, you can buy new university homework at the kiosk located on campus in either Britechester or Foxbury.

Just find the kiosk and click ‘ buy university items ‘.

Then you’ll want to click on the book icon labeled ‘ academics ‘ to narrow the items down even further.

You can find the university homework by scrolling all the way down. Just buy it and it will appear in your sim’s inventory!

And finally, you can easily buy homework in build mode by unlocking all hidden objects using cheats.

Once unlocked, search for homework in build mode and place it somewhere on your sim’s lot.

Then have your sim put it into their inventory by clicking on the homework or simply dragging it directly into their inventory!

The Sims 4: How to do Homework

Homework in The Sims 4 is a necessary evil and a part of everyday life for most people IRL so it makes sense that it would be inside a life simulation game. From the time your sims turn into children until they’ve graduated University they are going to be doing homework and it will take up a significant part of their lives.

There are actually a few hacks you should know to get your sims to have more fun when doing homework, get it done quicker, and just generally finish it in a timely fashion that will make you a better sims player.

How to Do Homework for Children

When a sim’s kid returns from their long day at school they are going to have a little orange book inside of their inventory which is their homework. This should be completed before they attend school again which is usually the next day unless it’s the weekend.

You can get your sims to start doing their homework by clicking on the homework book in their inventory and choosing do homework . Your sims will find the nearest place to sit (even on the ground) to start working on their homework and will work until they are finished unless they are interrupted by low needs or an event trigger like a fire.

Any adult can come over to this sim while they are doing their homework and you can choose help with homework which will get the adult involved and sitting with the child and they will get their homework done much quicker.

There is even a system for sims kids (not teens) where if your kid gets all of the four children skills to level 3 they’ll have the option to breeze through homework instead of do homework and this will get the job done quicker.

Getting these skills all to level 7 will give them the option to dominate homework which will get it done even more quickly. This is a nice hack to really finish it without it being a huge part of their day.

Once a child has finished their homework, if they have a B or higher in school, they actually have the option to do extra credit after they’ve finished their regular homework. This is good for you if you want to get your sims to increase their school performance.

If you ever find your sims without a homework book in their inventory and you have no idea where it could be you can actually purchase these for one simoleon on any book case!

How to Do Homework for Teens

Homework works pretty much the same way for teens except their homework book is a nice blue colour instead of the orange that kids get. To get them to work on their homework you’ll get them to go into their inventory and click on it and choose do homework and they will start working on it.

They too have the option to have an adult sim to help with homework by getting that sim to click on them when they’ve started their homework and getting them to assist to make it go more quickly.

Once a teenager has a B in school they have the option to do extra credit after they’ve finished their regular homework. This will help them increase their school performance and get to an A as soon as possible.

Bonus Tip: Use the earbuds from The Sims 4: Fitness Stuff Pack when doing homework to keep your sims fun need up so they aren’t feeling tense when they’re done working on it.

School Projects

With The Sims 4: Parenthood there’s a pretty decent chance each week that your sims kids will come home with a school project that they can decide to complete for a boost to their grades. If they don’t complete it within a few days they may get a small decrease to their school grades but it’s not substantial.

These projects come home with your sims in their inventory and are rather easy to complete. They have the option to work on it either carefully or sloppily. Choosing sloppily will get the job done quicker, however, you won’t see a huge increase to their grades but you also won’t see a decrease.

The better option is to work carefully so your sims can improve their school grades. While they are working on these projects they’ll actually gain a skill depending on the type of homework they are working on. For sims kids they’ll be skills like mental, creativity, etc. but for teenagers it’ll be more specific like rocket science or painting .

One awesome thing is that you can get other sims to assist in the project up to 3 sims so you can get these projects done extremely quickly and if an adult sim who has a high skill in the project type assists it’ll go so quickly.

Working on these will also increase your sim’s kids’ responsibility character value which is awesome but failing to complete it will negativity impact this.

How to Do Homework in University

With the 2019 addition of The Sims 4: Discover University we have a whole new type of homework for your sims to have to work on. These homework books are going to be a black and white composite notebook that will appear in your sims inventory when they enroll in their first semester of university.

Each time your sim goes to a class they are going to need to do their homework before they attend that class if they want to get a good grade, meaning that if you’re taking multiple classes your sim will be needing to do homework multiple times per week.

To get this University homework done you’ll want to click on the homework book and choose which class’ homework you actually want to work on and get started. You don’t have to do it all in one sitting so you can start and stop as many times as you want.

An awesome detail about University homework is that if your sims have a high level of the research and debate skill they’ll actually breeze through their homework much more quickly. You can also add the study spot lot trait to your sim’s lot to make it easier.

Final Thoughts

Homework is something you can’t avoid if you want your sims to do well in school when they’re young, but there’s no need to stress about it. Sims grades won’t affect their later days work performance or the overall success in their life, so no worries if you don’t get it done. Happy Playing!

It do work!

Doing a 4 course in sims 4 is a real tedious chore. It will consume all your sims time and you won’t have time to do anything else. They did this way worse than sims 3 university.

There are a few tricks mind you! First of all you can be at home instead, makes it all much easier and you can(like mentioned above) add the “study spot” trait to your home.

The next trick is using the club! Make sure, if you go to the university, add everyone you see to your club. Focus on getting “Rally the Troops” perk. That will allow you to get back all your energy and other needs quickly whenever you want. There is no cooldown on this. It requires 500 points so it’s not bad at all. Just make sure the gathering is on at all times(which it should be since you most likely won’t be leaving the lot). The homework perk does not work for university.

EA could easily have fixed this by reducing the homework time from 2 hours to 1 hours imo. They made it too much of a chore. It’s a GAME after all.

But that’s the whole challenge bruh

When you think of gaming, homework probably is the furthest thing from your mind– but in the Sims 4, knowing how to do homework is the key to becoming a successful student, integral with the parenting skill, and impacts your Sims’ life in a few ways.

One thing’s for certain: whether you’re trying to raise a family, or cramming study sessions in between dorm parties, knowing how to do homework is a must in the Sims 4– and there’s more to it than you might think. Consider this your guide to homework, and all things related, in the Sims 4.

Homework in Sims: A Brief History

Homework has been signature gameplay in the Sims franchise. As a life simulator, it only makes sense that, just like players have to contend with paying bills, cleaning dirty dishes, and juggling careers with relationships, parenting, and everyday life. And it’s actually rather interesting to see how doing homework in the Sims has been important from generation to generation, but also evolved.

Here’s a Sparknotes version of the history of homework in the Sims franchise.

Homework was not a mainstay of the original Sims game, but it was in the Sims 2. In the Sims 2, homework was important for teens, kids, and the then-new young adult life stage.

Children and Teens

A child and teen in the Sims 2 were required to go to school (with options for both public and private). Homework was generated daily. After the bus brought the kid home, that child Sim would have a physical copy of homework in their hand. Normally, homework would be set on a desk or nearby surface, though I remember many times it would just as often be placed on the ground. Completing homework had a direct effect on the Sims’ grades. Every day without incomplete homework resulted in a deduction.

A teen’s homework was a duller color, compared with the bright hues of a kid’s homework. If a Sims’ needs were not met, then they would likely not finish homework. When a Sim aged up, their homework automatically disappeared.

There were a few basic interactions for children and teens with homework in the Sims 2.

• Work on Homework
• Complete Homework
• Ask for Homework Help — this could be asked of any older Sim, and not only helped Sims complete homework more quickly, but also allowed them to complete homework more efficiently in the future.

Young Adults

Young adults were introduced in the Sims 2 University expansion pack, and have since become perhaps the most popular life stage in the Sims franchise. In the Sims 2, this life stage was limited to the University expansion. These young adults worked on assignments in order to influence their grades. It worked in a similar way as with kids and teens, though in addition to homework, they also had exams to deal with.

Sims 3 continued the homework system from Sims 2, making it clear that doing homework would become an expected gameplay feature in the Sims franchise. In many ways, Sims 3 kept the same basic systems for homework intact but enhanced it through new traits, packs, and an updated interface.

School, again, was mandatory for children in the Sims 3 , with a new boarding school option for no private school. If a Sim was sent to boarding school, there was nothing that you needed to worry about in terms of completing homework. Otherwise, it worked more or less the same way: new homework was generated and had to be completed for every school day.

New features included:

• The ability to do homework with a Sim of the same age
• The ability to copy homework (which could send them to detention)
• Ability to work on past due homework
• Enhanced homework completion with the workaholic and bookworm traits or if your Sim was a vampire (Sims 3: Supernatural expansion)
• Homework became a hidden skill
• Sims with an A average could select their new trait when they became a teen or young adult
• Grades listed in the new Simology panel

Young Adults (and Adults)

Sims who opted to attend college (via the Sims 3: University Life expansion pack), of course, had homework of their own. Homework, or assignments, were fairly similar to Sims 2, and, like Sims 2, the grades were determined by other factors like exams, but also somewhat how they behaved in their seminars, as well as outside projects.

Homework in the Sims 4- Your Guide

If you’ve played previous Sims games, the good news is that homework in the Sims 4 isn’t too different from previous Sims games. But like each generation, there are different tricks and tips you need to keep in mind to be successful, whether you are just looking to complete homework to help teens pass high school, or your Sims are tackling on a degree at the University of Britechester or Foxbury Institute of Technology.

Here’s what I think you need to know.

Children are required to go to school, and Sims 4 does arguably take a step back in that public school is the only option for children and teens.

Getting to School

In a curious move, Sims 4 does not have any transportation that picks Sims up. In fact, the lack of even cars in the game has been a source of contention. In any case, a school bus won’t pick up children or teens, nor can you watch them make their way to school, as you could in the Sims 3. Instead, children and teens will either automatically transport themselves to school, or you can prompt them.

Decisions During School

Especially if you have Sims 4 Parenthood game pack, you can influence teen and child Sims’ days at school, at least a little. Pop-ups may occasionally come up where you are given a scenario, just as another kid caught cheating, or your Sim being teased. Some of these will impact your Sim’s mood and social life. Sometimes, a child or teen will also ask for advice, which is tied to Sims 4 Parenthood parenting skills.

Locating Homework

As was the case with Sims 2, there is a small distinction in the appearance of children and teens’ homework. Children Sim will have a yellow Grade School Handbook, which, when not being worked on, is typically in their inventory. Teen homework is a blue notebook.

If you’re like me, though, sometimes homework gets lost in the house. If that happens you can actually purchase homework from a bookcase for a single simoleon. And unlike in the Sims 2, homework isn’t assigned to one Sim in particular, meaning a kid can complete their homework even if it wasn’t their original copy.

How to Do/ Complete Homework

To work on homework, simply drag it out of your Sims’ inventory and click on it for the “Do Homework” option. You can have your Sim to do homework all at once, or pick it back up after taking care of their needs. Remember, your teen or child Sim will be assigned homework every school day, with no new homework on weekends.

Homework and Grade Performance

Knowing how to do homework in Sims 4 is helpful for grade performance, but it also isn’t the only factor. In fact, by building skills, working on projects, and even keeping your Sims in a good mood, you can remain a fairly good student even when you skip homework from time to time.

Sims that are at a B or A average also will have access to the “Do Extra Credit” option. This pops up after they complete their homework for the day and you select their homework a second time (homework doesn’t disappear after being completed like previous Sims games). Extra credit is a chance to boost your Sims’ grades even more.

School Projects

School Projects are a unique feature exclusive to the Sims 4: Parenthood game pack. Available to teens and children, Sims can both work on their own projects and assist others. Working on a project builds all child skills at once.

Unlike homework, there is no official deadline for school projects so there aren’t penalties for however long it takes. Once a project is completed, the student can start on a new one. Adults can help both teens and kids; kids can be helped by teens/.

You’ll be able to select from one of seven projects, all available for purchase on build mode. The completed project will be rated as excellent, good, or poor. Siblings may get upset with one another if their project is destroyed by a brother or sister.

How to Do Homework Faster

I admit; sometimes I get impatient with doing homework in Sims 4, especially if I have other plans for the family. The good news is that, if you work on your Sims’ skills, you can speed up the process for children.

You’ll need to work equally on the four major skills for Sim Children: creativity; mental; motor; social; and mental. Level 3 of all of these allows you to “Breeze through Homework” while level 7 allows them to “Dominate Homework”.

For teens, your only real option is installing a mod (which I will discuss later).

University Students

Young adult and adult Sims can attend one of two campuses if you have the The Sims 4: Discovery University expansion pack installed. Homework, as you might imagine, is part of the equation–but the homework system looks different for adult and young adult Sims than it does for younger Sims, which impacts how you should do homework.

Getting Accepted

I won’t go into a full guide to the Discover University pack, but, in a nutshell, you Sim will have to first apply using a computer. Based upon their previous grades, skill set, and some other factors, they will either be offered or denied admission to the program of their choice at the University of Britechester of Foxbury Institute of Technology.

There is also the opportunity to gain scholarships and take out loans to finance their education. In my experience, most get accepted to school but may be limited to pursuing an honorary degree. Humanities-based degrees at Britechester, like English Literature, are honorary, while if you want a science or technology degree with distinction your Sim should attend the more modern Foxbury.

Homework Load at University

Homework is a part of the university experience in Sims 4, and doing it will help your Sims’ performance. Homework appears in their inventory (as a black and white book) and is meant to be completed before every class. You can also purchase homework from a bookshelf or the college’s kiosk (found out on the quad).

Classes are usually in the form of seminars and do not last all day, but your Sim, depending on your enrollment decisions, will likely have at least two classes per day, meaning you’ll have to juggle multiple assignments.

Other Types of Homework

In addition to doing daily homework, Sims need to attend class regularly. You’ll also be working towards end of the semester exams, final projects, and term papers, depending on the class. Doing homework daily is helpful in keeping their grade average high, and putting a little less pressure on a term paper. It is possible to flunk out of college, so doing homework on a regular basis and attending classes is a must.

How to Make Homework Easier

Knowing how to do homework doesn’t cut it, though. Between classes, roommates, parties, extracurriculars, and just taking care of basic needs, if you’re like me, you’ll want to tip things in your Sims’ favor a little. Here are some tips

• Work on skills related to their major, or current classes
• Keep your Sim in a good mood by keeping needs in check
• Decorate your space with objects that exude a “Focused” mood (you can see this if you hover over objects in buy mode)
• Lock your dorm room to other Sims when studying
• Work on the Research and Debate skills
• Study in the library or another place if your roommate is partying
• Live off-campus and apply the “Study Spot” lot traits

Using Mods for Better Homework

If you know how to do homework in the Sims 4 but want it to run more smoothly, another option is to download a mod. I always caution that mods are at your own risk, and they can break, so make sure you check to see that the mod has been updated and that you’re downloading from a secure site.

This mod fixes what many saw as a deficit in the Sims 4 homework system, by making sure that child Sims will do their homework without your prompting. Now and Sim with an A, B, or C average won’t require you to direct them to do their homework, at least initially.

How do you take your final exam in The Sims 4?

If you have an adult sim taking university courses, you can have them take the final exam by attending the last day of class. It should be noted, however, that it appears a bug exists that prevents players from having their sim take the final exam. As of writing, no official source has confirmed nor denied this bug’s existence nor have they confirmed or denied that a patch fix has been implemented.

In The Sims 4 ’s new expansion, High School Years , your teen Sims can head out to school the same way some Sims head to work. You can go with them to control what they do throughout the school day, affecting their relationships and academic growth.

Notably, in the career tab for the teen Sim, you’ll see that they have a daily task to “do homework” after every school day (as you’d expect from school). Though homework for young Sims is not a new addition, it can be new for players who never had teenage Sims.

The homework your teen Sim has to do will be in their personal inventory , as a little blue book. You can select it and click “do homework” and your teen Sim will move to a nearby table to do it.

Based on our gameplay, not doing homework didn’t do anything too dramatic to the Sims’ school performances. As long as your teen Sim is attending class, they’ll progress in their career just fine. However, if you want them to improve their grades faster, they should actively be doing their homework.

Your Sim lost their homework book? You can get it back

In a previous post, we showed you what you can do to help your Sims complete their homework faster . But I recently came across a different homework-related issue that’s been bugging many users for quite some time.

Many players complained about their Sim’s homework suddenly disappearing from their inventory. Unfortunately, getting it back is not that obvious.

In this guide, we’ll explore why that happens and how you restore your Sim’s homework.

No, we’re not going to play Sherlock Holmes here.

Let’s dive right in!

Why is my Sim’s homework book missing?

Sims often drop their homework books on the floor. They rarely put their homework books in their inventories after doing their homework. As a result, they can’t find their notebooks when they get to class.

The quickest solution to find missing homework books in The Sims 4 is to look around the house or dorm.

If you’re lucky, you’ll quickly come across your Sim’s homework book and put it back in their inventory.

But sometimes, you won’t be able to find it.

Don’t be surprised if non-controlled roommates leave their homework books on the study table in the dorm.

What to do if you lose your homework book in The Sims 4

Buy new homework books.

You can buy grade school and university homework books for $1.

To buy a new homework book in The Sims 4, click on the bookcase or computer, select Order Books , and buy the homework book you want.

If you’re buying a new homework book for a child, have an adult purchase it. Then put the book on a table for the child to pick it up.

If you’re playing The Sims 4 Discover University and your Sim’s homework book is missing, you can buy a new one by clicking on the bookshelf.

If you’re on campus, you can go to the campus kiosk and purchase the homework you need.

Delete or sell your bookcases

Other users suggested that selling or deleting your current bookcases and buying new ones could solve the problem. Sometimes, your bookcases might get glitched.

This often happens when you move a Sim to a new household and bring their furniture and bookcases with them. Replacing the problematic bookcases should fix the problem.

Check other Sims’ inventories

Your Sim’s homework may have accidentally landed in the inventory of another Sim.

Many players confirmed they found their Sim’s homework in someone else’s inventory.

Where is my Sim’s homework in The Sims 4?

To find your Sim’s homework in Sims 4, click on their inventory. You should find a black-and-white homework book. Click on it to have your Sims complete the assignment.

Do Sims in The Sims 4 University do homework?

Sims attending university in The Sims 4 Discover University do homework regularly as part of their class assignments. Lazy Sims that refuse to do their homework will get bad grades and won’t earn a Distinguished Degree .

An affair happens when a Sim who is already in a relationship falls in love with another Sim or interacts romantically with a different Sim.

Getting caught [ ]

Having an affair can be risky, as getting caught can possibly ruin the relationship with the other Sim.

• WooHooing as another lover passes by on the same lot, even if they're on opposite sides of the lot. However, in The Sims 2 , a Sim doing this will not be caught if the other lover is sleeping.
• Going on a date anywhere on the same lot where the other partner is present (if you ask someone on a date by calling them and go to a community lot it won't be found out, unless the partner walks by that lot).
• A lover views the flowers (reads a note on them) a date may have left. However relationship drop won't be as large.
• A child who sees the adulterers mid-WooHoo may cry and attract the attention of the cheater's spouse.
• Sleeping in the same bed when the lover is around.
• Doing any romantic interactions [1] with another Sim while the main romance is near the cheating couple.
• Hearing gossip from another Sim (this is not possible anymore in a patched game, but it was showcased in beta videos).

When this occurs, the Sim will be slapped [ TS ] [ TSC ] [ TS2 ] [ TU:SITC ] [ TSS ] and many relationship points will be lost.

Interestingly, Sims can be caught cheating by the ghost of a deceased Sim with whom they had a romantic relationship before that Sim died. The ghosts can even become furious with the Sim who cheated on them.

Getting caught by children

If children catch their parents cheating, they get the same relationship decreases with both their parent and the paramour and, if left to their own devices, may even attack their own parent or who the parent is having an affair with. They don't get any visible memories from this aside from any meetings, but effectively act like a Sim who has been cheated on. They'll either cry or get angry at the parent. However, if one of their parents had died and they somehow didn't know about it, it could cause needless drama if they consider looking for love again as cheating.

Jealousy [ ]

Whenever a Sim , who has a crush on or is in love with another Sim watches the latter partake in some romantic interaction with another, jealousy occurs. In The Sims 2 , if Nightlife or later is installed, jealousy also triggers fury . This doesn't take into account whether or not the feelings are one-sided, which may be messy for unrequited crushes. If Nightlife or later is installed, and a Sim catches another Sim flirting with their partner, they will also be furious at their partner, regardless whether their partner rejects the flirt.

The witnessing Sim often loses the crush or love marker, and his or her relationship with the cheater and the one he or she is cheating with plummets into the negative. If he or she doesn't know the other person, a "Met Sim" memory is added along with the affair and possible "Fell Out of Love" memories . [ TS2 ] This relationship drop enables breaking up, assuming the Sims were going steady, engaged, or married.

The cheated-on Sim may reject the cheater should they try to interact with them romantically.

Repairing relationships [ ]

Getting caught in an affair won't always spell the end of a relationship, but it can make bringing it back up extremely hard, especially if the scorned Sim is more interested in fighting with the other one (this could cause the other to lose their own crush/love markers, and even trigger fury to make things that much harder).

To apologize for an affair, select the cheater and click on the spouse cheated on and select "Appreciation/Apologize" from the pie menu, but only after the fury [ TS2:NL ] or "Betrayed" moodlet [ TS3 ] has ended; if not, the betrayed Sim will not accept the apology. It is easier to repair relationships if the Sims are BFF's , if the Sim uses the " Smooth Talk " interaction, [ TS2:FT ] or "Repair relationship with..." interaction after studying " Couples Counseling ". [ TS2:AL ]

If a couple somehow manages to get tarnished by an accidental affair, it may be best to use cheats or hacks, such as InSimenator , to fix the problem, or exit without saving.

As well as repairing jealousy, there is also a way to prevent it. In The Sims 3: World Adventures , a new lifetime reward is added; No Jealousy. This reward costs 10,000 lifetime happiness points. Purchasing the lifetime reward eliminates jealousy altogether. The No Jealousy reward also makes it possible to create a polyamorist Sim, with multiple lovers living under one roof.

Effects of affairs [ ]

The sims, the sims bustin' out and the urbz: sims in the city [ ].

When cheating occurs, the Sim will be slapped and the two Sims will lose -50 relationship points. The Sim who gets cheated on will have their social need depleted.

The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories [ ]

As in The Sims and The Urbz , the Sim will be slapped and relationship points will be lost. In Nightlife , Deluxe , Double Deluxe and The Sims Stories , this can also trigger Fury .

The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval [ ]

When affairs/cheating occurs, the Sim will be jealous and some relationship is lost. No points are lost if the No Jealousy is chosen.

With The Sims 3: Generations , when cheating occurs romantic reputation may change, and after sometime the spouse/lover may get the "Betrayed" moodlet and will autonomously accuse the Sim of being a cheater and their relationship will decline.

The Sims 4 [ ]

If an affair/cheating is noticed by the betrayed lover, they will become angry and relationships points will be lost.

Sims involved in an affair can be convinced to leave their spouse, which immediately divorces the Sim from their spouse. The Sim that was cheated on will not get the divorced moodlet. The spouse that was cheated on will automatically become upset (if the cheating spouse is seen having an affair) and will cry.

How affairs/cheating occurs [ ]

The sims [ ].

• Using a romantic social such as "Kiss" when that Sim has a lover. A sound will also be played if cheating occurs. [ TS ] [ TSC ] [ TSBO ]
• Using an Act Romantic social or the Blastikiss Power Social. [ TU:SITC ]
• Giving a hug, even if it isn't romantic, to another Sim while a lover is in the room. [ TS ]
• Dancing with or complimenting another Sim while a lover is in the room. [ TS ]
• Using a romantic social such as "Kiss" when the Sim is married or has a lover.
• Using any romantic social on another Sim if they have a lover or husband/wife. No Jealously LTR prevents this effect.
• Using any type of romantic social on another Sim if their lover is in the same room or are close by.

Education Career Cheat for the Sims 4 on PC, Mac, and Console

Sims can work as teachers with the education career that was added in the Sims 4 Discover University expansion pack . If you’re eager to accelerate your sim’s progression or perhaps slow it down, this post is for you. Below, I detail how to cheat your sim’s career progress as well as how to cheat the skill levels required for promotion.

Step 1 – Enable Cheats 

Make the cheat console appear in the top left hand corner of the screen by pressing:

• Command + Shift + C on PC.
• CTRL + Shift + C on Mac.
• All four triggers on console.

Type in “ testingcheats on ” and press enter to enable the use of cheats. 

Step 2 – Education Career Cheat 

Type in the code for either promotion or demotion. 

PROMOTE: Type careers.promote education into the cheat console and press enter .

DEMOTE: Type careers.demote education into the cheat console and press enter . 

Both codes above will change your sim’s career progress by one level. To change their progress by multiple levels, just repeat step two as many times as you’d like.

The three main skills for this career are Research & Debate , Charisma , and Logic . The following cheat codes apply to each one respectively, where X represents the desired level. Click on the links to learn more about each cheat.

Note that the cheat console is not case sensitive, so you don’t need to worry about that affecting the outcome of the cheat.

How to Find Lost Homework in The Sims 4

Let’s picture a situation real quick. Your Sims 4 character is sitting on a couch or bed, working on their homework. They finish the work before running off to do something else. You go to their inventory to do more homework, only to find that it has disappeared! This is a common occurrence that can be detrimental to your success if your student Sim isn’t performing well. If you’re interested in learning more, continue reading to discover how to find your lost homework in The Sims 4.

The most likely reason why your sim lost their homework is that they finished their work and dropped the book somewhere. Instead of placing it inside their inventory, they often drop it onto the floor or a nearby surface and walk away to perform other actions. With this in mind, you can look around your immediate surroundings to see if you can find the homework book on the ground or on a table.

What if you can’t find it, though? Are you doomed never to do your homework again? No! If you misplace your homework book and can’t find it anywhere, you can order a new one from any nearby bookcase or computer. Head into one of these, choose “ Purchase Books “, and pick “ Homework Books ” in the Show All dropdown menu. In the base game, you’ll find a Grade School and regular Homework book, while The Sims 4: Discover University introduces a University Homework book. Each book type costs one Simoleon, making them inexpensive to replace.

The Sims 4 Daily Rewards: Overview of Features and Unlockables

The Sims 4 has a new incentive to reward its players for logging into the game.

The surprise that The Sims Team has been teasing for two weeks straight has been revealed with the latest Sims 4 Patch . More specifically, completely uncovered in the game’s files and data.

The Sims 4 Daily Rewards is a new Feature that will pop up into your game’s Main Menu, offering an incentive to unlock new Outfits, Objects and even Traits to your game. What’s interesting about this is that it follows a free-to-play logistic route seen in games such as Fortnite or The Sims Mobile. Making it seem like this is only the start of what’s to come with future monetization methods of The Sims Franchise…

Either way, let’s dig into everything there is to the new Daily Rewards and how you can unlock the new Sims 4 items and features into your game!

Please note that a regular internet connection will be required on Desktop and Console devices in order to claim these features.

The Sims 4 Daily Rewards for the Month Ahead

The first round of Sims 4 Daily Rewards will last for 4 weeks. With a speculated start date set for either May 29th or May 30th, 2024 . Throughout the next four weeks you’ll be able to unlock different sets of items, including:

• Day 1: Bullseye Dartboard
• Day 2: Night Sky Layered Necklace – Embrace the night with this layered necklace featuring three stars resting above a crescent moon.
• Day 3: Guerdon Goods Mini Fridge and NanoCan 2.0 – Guerdon Goods brings you this wonderful matching mini fridge and garbage can combo. Just don’t forget to recycle those soda cans.
• Day 1: Compact Bar – Whether you’re practicing your Mixology skills or just serving up juice for your friends, you can save space without compromising on quality with the Compact Bar.
• Day 2: Serenity Hairstyle – These luscious locks are the perfect length for a sassy hair flip.
• Day 1: Casual Comfort Pillow – How many more pillows do you need? More. The answer is always more.
• Day 1: Practice Makes Perfect (CAS Trait) – Sims with this trait learn skills faster, even if they are a bit slower at first.
• Day 1: Guerdon Goods Vending Machine and Athleisure Wear – Sure, you could go for a jog, or you could grab a few snacks and relax on the sofa instead.

For example, if you want to unlock all the items from Week 1, you’ll have to login into The Sims 4 three times in a span of one week to complete the Week 1 Reward set. That means that if you’ve unlocked the Bullseye Dartboard for opening the game once, you’ll be able to unlock the Layered Necklace after 24 hours pass by. And so on with other items within the same week.

If, let’s say, you miss out on the first week of items, you won’t be able to obtain them ever again. Still, you can unlock items from Week 2 or other future weeks depending when you login next into The Sims 4.

The first Sims 4 Daily Rewards event is set to finish by the end of June 2024.

How to Claim The Sims 4 Login Rewards

It’s easy! Simply select the Freezer Bunny Login Event screen on the Main Menu after the event goes live. From there you’ll be taken to the menu where you can claim your rewards.

Under each item there’s a “Claim” button that gets unlocked after a select time period has passed by. You can also accumulate and stack multiple rewards per week and claim them simultaneously – as long as you’re on time!

Let’s get the first thing out of the way, and those are the new Build Objects. Player @Simmatically uncovered a preview of swatches that you should be able to expect with the first Sims 4 Daily Rewards items. See what they look like in-game down below:

Practice Makes Perfect Trait

Player @RexEdogawa discovered interesting facts about the Practice Makes Perfect Trait that you’ll be able to obtain from Week 3 of Sims 4 Daily Rewards:

It’s not a reward trait but a CAS one. It does not reward your Sims, in fact, it punishes them by making them learn ALL skills at a 50% speed. However, it works in a way that ‘Practicing’ skills in a category helps. How this ‘practice makes perfect’ works: By default your Sims learn all skills at 50% speed. But by practicing a single category (Creative, Social, Physical and Mental) continuously, they can up the speed to 90%, 130%, 160% and even a whopping 180% However, once they stop practicing, this buff starts to decay. Their practice will be checked daily, if no bugs occur. So they need to practice each category every day. And it will eventually drop back to 50%. So it’s kind of a challenging trait other than a reward one. If they can keep practicing, which is really very easy since you can just read four skill books for 5 minutes each day… They can keep their 180% skill boost. Permanent Double Boost Week!

PC / Mac: Instantly unlock Build and CAS Daily Rewards with a Mod

If you’re on PC or Mac and want to skip the hassle of having to login each day (or depend on an internet connection) to use the new Sims 4 Daily Rewards, you don’t have to worry. Players have proven that these items can be unlocked additionally through a Mod, considering that these items already exist within The Sims 4 Base Game files.

Modder Simsiboy has already released their Mod for the game, unlocking all the Build Objects as well as the new CAS Hairstyle. It’s only a matter of time until we see unlocks for the new Trait too…

You can get these Modded Unlocks for free on Simsiboy’s Patreon. Simply paste the .package files into your Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder and enjoy the contents. Note that these items will be marked as Modded content in your game rather than as official Event Rewards.

And this one is for both Desktop and Console players! @loner_cowplant pointed out a brilliant solution to unlock the new Practice Makes Perfect Trait. Simply click the Randomize button on traits in Create A Sim until the reward trait pops out:

And for the Build Objects? There’s a solution there too! Use the new “Event Rewards” filter in Build Mode and add any and every color within the filters to have the new Sims 4 Login Rewards show up.

Everything You Need To Know About Pregnancy In The Sims 4

What's better than a Sim? A baby Sim! The Sims 4 invites you to live out the full life cycle of a Sim (and beyond), including raising children and playing as infants. Just as in real life, Sim pregnancies are wild rollercoasters that will forever change your Sim's legacy.

The Sims 4: How To Have Twins And Triplets

While pregnancies don't last long, they are packed with special interactions and memorable moments, all before welcoming your Sim's new baby arrives in the world. Here's your full guide on what to expect when your Sim is expecting!

Making your Sim's dreams of parenthood to life, complete with morning sickness, irritability, and weird cravings. Bringing the joys of pregnancy to your Sim is easy as long as you know how to get there.

WooHoo With Another Sim

We never imagined we'd be telling you about the birds and the bees, but yes, babies come from WooHoo.

When having regular WooHoo with another Sim, there's a small chance that it will result in pregnancy . If you want to improve those odds, command your Sim to "Try For Baby" with another Sim .

If you don't see the option for "Try For Baby" with another Sim, ensure your Sim has a 40 percent romantic relationship with them. Your Sim has an 80 percent chance of getting pregnant from this interaction.

Increase your Sim's fertility by getting a fertility massage, purchasing the Fertile reward trait, drinking the elixir of fertility, or using the On Ley Line lot trait.

Have your Sim take a pregnancy test by selecting the toilet for the low cost of §15. If it doesn't stick the first time, you can always try again!

You can use Create A Sim to edit who can become pregnant/get others pregnant without changing your Sim's gender, enabling feminine-presenting Sims to impregnate others and masculine-presenting Sims to become pregnant.

Get Abducted By Aliens

Why not accept a little baby alien into your home? When male Sims are abducted by aliens, they may return with the "Weird Tummy Ache" moodlet, represented by an orange pacifier. Congrats, he's expecting! You can increase your chances of getting abducted by:

• Going outside between 10:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
• Reaching level seven of the Logic skill and searching for truth in the observatory .
• Being a Scientist and contacting aliens via satellite dish .

If none of these work, you can also use the MC Command Center mod to cheat an alien pregnancy in male or female Sims.

Use A Pregnancy Cheat

When in doubt, cheat! Instead of waiting around for your Sim to get knocked up, take matters into your own hands by using this simple cheat. You can command your Sim to have one to seven babies using this cheat (that's a lot of diapers!).

• Find your Sim's ID number and use this where the cheat prompts you to.
• Open the cheat box (Ctrl + Shift + C for Windows, Command+Shift+C for Mac, and press all bumpers for console).
• Enable cheats by typing "testingcheats true" into the cheat box.
• Type "pregnancy.force_offspring_count [Sim ID] [number of babies wanted]" into the cheat box

You can also use the MC Command Center to alter many things about fertility and pregnancy within your game.

The Sims 4: For Rent - How To Evict Tenants

A Sim's pregnancy will last for three in-game days , regardless of the lifespan you've set your game to. Each trimester lasts one day, so you can expect different behaviors from your Sim daily .

Your Sim's appearance will begin to change on the second day of pregnancy, and they may show signs of morning sickness. This will include an Uncomfortable moodlet and may cause the pregnant Sim to throw up.

On the third day of pregnancy, your Sim's abdomen will continue to grow. At some point during the day, they will head off to the hospital to give birth. Birth can be delayed by keeping the Sim from leaving the house to go to the hospital.

While they are pregnant, the motives of your Sim will drop more quickly. They won't be able to do certain things, like run on treadmills or do yoga.

Influence The Gender Of Your Sim's Baby

Are you rooting for a certain gender for your Sim's little bundle of joy? Influence the gender of the baby by doing some of these simple things:

If things don't turn out how you want, you can use the "cas.fulleditmode" cheat to change the gender of the baby after it's born.

Now that your Sim is expecting, it's time to celebrate! Welcome baby into your Sim's home fully stocked with all of their needs. Host a baby shower with all of your Sim's closest friends, family, and neighbors.

You can plan a baby shower using two methods . First, you can use your Sim's phone to access the Social tab , and then select "Plan A Social Event." You can also use your Sim's calendar to do the same.

You can throw a joint baby shower with two Sims, or just have one for your own Sim. The guest list must consist of at least two Sims.

Guests will bring presents for the baby, so rack up that guest list.

Baby Shower Challenge

Baby showers are an easy social event to gain gold in , requiring players to talk about the baby and what they expect for its future.

Some of the tasks will require a stereo and a Celebration Cannon . If you want to take home the gold, make sure you have these on hand before your event starts!

Although three Sim days may feel all too short for some, you may be in a rush to pop this baby out. Luckily, there's a simple cheat that you can use to force your Sim to go into labor.

• Enter "Sims.Add_Buff Buff_Pregnancy_Inlabor" into the cheat box.

Once your Sim leaves for the hospital, it takes three in-game hours for your Sim to give birth.

After your Sim gives birth, they and their partner will receive multiple days off from their jobs as part of their "Family Leave."

Sims 4 and DirectX

Sims 4 is being upgraded to DirectX 11 (DX11) with Patch 1.107.112. At first the new version is offered as opt-in and will be become standard in a later patch.

DirectX is a programming interface for games and other multimedia programs. It helps developers to program their software without having to support every single graphics card out there. They only need to support DirectX instead.

DirectX 11 or later comes as part of the operating system and doesn’t need to be installed separately.

Sims 4 currently supports DirectX 9c but the System Requirements list DirectX 11 as required.

DirectX 11 is currently available as opt-in. This will change in the future when DirectX 11 will become the new standard.

This method only works if you add the arguments in online mode. Command line arguments can’t be added while you’re offline. They do work if you add them in online mode and then go offline.

The command line arguments do not work if you start the game through the desktop shortcut. Please use shortcut instructions for that method.

Instructions

Start EA app and Login

Find the game in the library

Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the game and choose View Properties

Under Advanced Launch Options put the arguments and click Save

If you want to add multiple arguments, separate them with a space.

Start Steam and login

Find the game in Library

Right-Click on the game and choose Properties

Choose General

In the field under Launch options add the command line arguments and click enter

This method only works if you start the game through a specific shortcut. They are ignored if you start the game via EA app, Origin or Steam

Right-click on the shortcut on your desktop

Choose Properties

Add the command line arguments after the program in target (make sure to add a space after the closing quotes)

Click on OK

This method only works if you add the arguments in online mode. Command line arguments can’t be added while you’re offline. They do work if you add them in offline mode and then go offline

Start Origin and Login

Find the Game in My Game Library

Right-Click on the game and choose Game Properties

Click on the Tab Advanced Launch Options

In the field under Command line arguments put the argument and hit save.

If you want to test out DirectX 11 you need to add -dx11 as command line argument.

You will then see in the main menu which version Sims is running with.

Maxis recommends to remove all your mods/cc to try it out as there might be visual issues with them.

Simply remove the command line argument you added to go back to DirectX 9

The DirectX version used by the game shows in the lower right corner of the main menu.

The upgrade should help with better graphics quality and increase the general game experience with improved render capabilities.

The opt-in looks like a test. You can report any issues at AHQ .

The changes are still in testing and there can be issues. If you have problems with text and dialogs it’s best to return to DX9 for now.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try for now

• Make sure your graphics card supports DX11
• Update your graphics drivers
• Remove all Mods/CC
• Resetting the game to factory settings without reinstalling
• If the game starts with DX9 despite the option, make sure you added it to the correct place and it’s still there (EA app, desktop shortcut, Steam).
• If you have files in the folder Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\ ConfigOverride , remove them and redo the changes on the current game files.
• If you still can’t get it to work, post in this thread at AHQ: DirectX 11 Technical Issues and Feedback Thread . Make sure to provide the info asked in the first post.

You can find your current DirectX Version in the DxDiag.

• Press Windows-Key + R
• Type: DxDiag
• Find the current DirectX Version in the system tab towards the bottom.

DirectX is backwards compatible so if you have DirectX 11 and higher you can try it out.

Currently nothing changes. At this point it’s unclear what happens when DirectX 11 is rolled out for everyone.

No. Unless you run Windows on your Mac to play Sims 4 this change doesn’t affect you.

The game doesn’t start. I only see a white screen

Remove any edited versions of the file GraphicsRules.sgr in the folder Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\ ConfigOverride you might have.

If you want to keep your changes, copy the current version of the file from the installation folder to the ConfigOverride folder and redo the changes.

If you downloaded a file from another user, make sure you get the newest version from their page if available. The file must be created/updated after May 29th, 2024 to be compatible for this change.

Alt-Tab doesn’t work in fullscreen mode
