Trafficking of children is extremely inhuman and it goes against the very principles of human rights. Child trafficking is done because the traffickers get easy money in no time. It is a very risky job but the traffickers have established such a strong network throughout the world that the global police are finding it very difficult to curb these activities. This paper reveals that the phenomenon is carried out more in extremely poor, under-developed and underserved communities to rich-urban towns, cities, mining, cocoa and fishing communities in Ghana. It is therefore not surprising that most of the children trafficked often times are from the three northern regions, the Brong Ahafo Region and the Volta Region. Over 30,000 children have been trafficked from poor communities and are working as porters, or Kayaye, in Accra alone. This should not be allowed in country which is a signatory to UNICEF and several other international protocols seeking to defend, protect and promote the rights and wellbeing of children. Children should be set- free –from being enslaved by their fellow human beings as it is against the dignity of mankind. Children, like adults were born free and should be given the opportunity to enjoy their rights to freedom within the limitations prescribed by God, established by law and by our natural moral conscience; only then this world can have a future of becoming a model of peace and development of all which is the ultimate goal for all mankind.
