ATT Flexible Pooled Plans for businesses

Mobile Select: Flexible Pooled Plans

Maybe unlimited data is unnecessary. Maybe you need to curtail data usage by employees based on projects and location. If this situation sounds familiar, then consider an AT&T Mobile Select pooled data plan. With these plans, you still get unlimited talk and text along with a pool of shared data that you can assign to members of your plan.

How does that work? Let's say you sign up for 9 Gb of mobile data, with three of your employees signed up to your plan. With the Mobile Select plan, you can assign data limits to each employee within the 9 GB – so each of them can have a monthly limit of 3 Gb, or two can have 1.5 GB while the third has 6 GB. You have the complete freedom to assign your mobile data as you see fit.

Pooled plans also come with the same unlimited talk and text, plus AT&T Stream Saver. Stream Saver limits video quality to 480p (roughly DVD quality) while a phone is on the mobile network, so that streaming video doesn't use all of that monthly data. Once that phone is on a Wi-Fi network or attached to an AT&T hotspot, it will switch over to allow HD video.

AT&T Mobile Shared Plans for Business

Finally, if you just want a group data plan for your employees that covers all data usage from a shared account, then sign up for AT&T Share Data or Share Plus for Business. These two plans simplify your Business Wireless by allowing you to pay for aggregate data usage covering your team from a set limit, with options to extend your limit when needed.

Calling Features and Perks from AT&T Business Wireless

Depending on your plan, you also get access to several perks and features exclusive to the AT&T Wireless network. These include:

  • Wi-Fi Calling. Use local Wi-Fi when making and receiving calls. If you are in a location with Wi-Fi but have poor cellular coverage, you can count staying connected with your wireless device.
  • NumberSync . An app for iOS and Android devices that allows you to use your AT&T Mobile number with smart devices like tablets and wearable without needing access to your phone.
  • AT&T International Day Pass for Business. Qualifying customers can pay $10 per day to use talk, text, and data in over 100 countries without incurring heavy international rates.

AT&T Wireless is committed to helping business customers develop their local and global brands. With our coverage in over 200 countries and 7 continents, you can count on AT&T Wireless to make sure you and your staff are consistently available, within the reach of a cell phone call or email.

What is fiber internet?

Fiber internet uses cutting edge, 100% fiber technology. Fiber technology uses light waves instead of electrical signals to transmit data, and fiber optic cable can send higher volumes of information over longer distances than copper cable. This means customers on a fiber network have higher speeds available to them, regardless of their distance from a network node.

How can fiber internet improve my upload and download speeds?

AT&T Business Fiber uses symmetric internet connections, which means you get equally fast upload and download speeds. With symmetric internet speed capability, you get quick access to the cloud, video conference, virtual private network (VPN) connection, the ability to transfer large files, and more.

What is AT&T High Speed Internet - Enterprise?

AT&T High Speed Internet - Enterprise is designed for larger-sized business customers with multiple locations. The Enterprise customer experience includes one contract for all sites, a consolidated invoice, and one number to call for support of all locations.

What is AT&T Dedicated Internet?

AT&T Dedicated Internet is our premier internet service that is ideal for virtually all sizes and types of businesses. It’s a dedicated connection that’s used only by your business, and is secure to help you stay safely connected to your partners, customers, and employees. AT&T Dedicated Internet is proactively monitored and supported 24/7 by a team of AT&T Business experts.

What is AT&T Dedicated Internet used for?

AT&T Dedicated Internet is perfect for businesses that do lots of uploading and downloading. You get upload and download speeds that are equally fast. You can expect top performance for high-definition video conferencing, phone calls over the internet (VoIP), and crucial business activities that depend on fast, reliable internet service.

What is AT&T Wireless Broadband?

AT&T Wireless Broadband is a wireless data rate plan designed with business-critical applications in mind. Larger business customers can choose from four plans with maximum speeds of up to 12, 25, 50 or 100 Mbps. Small business customers have an additional plan option that offers best effort speeds with fewer features.

What is AT&T Fixed Wireless Internet?

AT&T Fixed Wireless Internet provides qualified small businesses with high-speed internet service using an outdoor antenna and indoor wireless gateway router. This service includes:

What is the difference between shared internet and dedicated internet?

Broadband internet uses a shared connection, allowing multiple users to share internet bandwidth on the network. AT&T Business Fiber and AT&T High Speed Internet – Enterprise are shared broadband connections with specific features based on your business needs or availability.

Dedicated internet is a direct internet connection that’s only used by your business. With dedicated internet, you get a highly-reliable service and dedicated speeds – no matter how many other users are on the network.

How-To Geek

At&t is raising prices on unlimited plans.

It's not all bad news, though.

Mobile carriers are always changing the pricing and features for its plans, in a never-ending quest to find the perfect balance between competition and making more money. AT&T is now increasing prices on its unlimited plans, but adding more tethering data as a consolation prize.

AT&T confirmed to CNET that the company is raising prices on unlimited plans by 99 cents per line, per month. The change will take effect on March 5, and most customers have already been notified. The changes are already live on AT&T's website, along with the updated names for each plan.

Unlimited Starter, the least expensive unlimited plan from AT&T, is now "Unlimited Starter SL" and has bumped up the 3GB hotspot data to 5GB. The price for that has increased from $65/month for one line to $65.99 for one line. The Unlimited Extra plan is now "Unlimited Extra EL" and doubles the available hotspot data from 15GB to 30GB, with pricing starting at $75.99/month for one line. Finally, AT&T Unlimited Premium is now "Unlimited Premium PL" and now has 60GB of hotspot data instead of 50GB All three plans have lower per-line prices as you add more lines—for example, four lines on AT&T Unlimited Starter SL is $35.99 per line per month.

Subscribers on AT&T's old Unlimited Elite plan won't have any pricing changes, but that could happen in the future. AT&T raised prices on older Unlimited and Mobile share plans back in 2022 , which included rises of up to $6 per month for single-line customers and $12 per month for family plans.

It's great that subscribers get more hotspot data, but it doesn't change the fact that AT&T's phone plans are incredibly expensive at this point, especially for single-line plans. If you don't need add-ons like smartwatch plans, the Unlimited plan at AT&T's pre-paid Cricket Wireless subsidiary starts at $55 per month without included hotspot data, or $60 per month with 15GB hotspot data and Max (formerly HBO Max) with ads included. Cricket also has plans with multi-month discounts , but those aren't available for multi-line subscribers and don't include tethering or Max. T-Mobile and other prepaid mobile carriers might have better offers, depending on what you need.

Is AT&T a good carrier?

The best AT&T phone plans offer a mix of prices — some plans come cheaply, others not so much — so finding wireless coverage that fits in with your budget may seem daunting. Still, it's worth seeing if there's an AT&T plan that appeals to you, as the carrier offers extensive coverage and a growing 5G presence.

Even better, AT&T routinely offers great deals on phones, whether you're an existing customer or planning on switching service, and we've got a range of AT&T Mobility promo codes to make those prices even better. So you've got plenty of incentive to find an appealing phone plan with the carrier.

It helps to look beyond AT&T's marquee offerings if you want to find some of the best cell phone plans on offer at the carrier. For instance, AT&T provides one of the best unlimited data plans we've found in our research into the best phone carriers, though it's only available to single-line customers. There's also a very good unlimited option through AT&T's prepaid service that comes with a low monthly rate — if you're willing to pay for a year of service up front.

We've looked at every option available through AT&T — both postpaid and prepaid — to find the best AT&T phone plans for both individuals and families. Whether it's unlimited data or a lower-cost plan, we can point you in the right direction.

The quick list

AT&T's best plan

AT&T's best rate on unlimited data is a $50.99 monthly plan with few perks that's only available as a single-line option. But it does let you access AT&T's extensive network for less.

Read more below

Pay for a full year of service upfront with AT&T's prepaid plan, and you can get unlimited data at a low monthly rate, with a generous 16GB cap before your speeds are slowed down.

Families will get the best mix of price and data with Unlimited Extra EL, though you can mix and match any of AT&T's unlimited offerings for each line of data on your plan. Get per-line discounts as you add more lines.

Best plan for travel

If you spend a lot of time in Latin America, get Unlimited Premium PL. For $85.99/month, you can access talk, text and data in 20 countries at no extra charge. There's no cap on data, so AT&T never slows your speeds on this plan

Best tiered data plan

AT&T focuses on unlimited data plans, but if you don't need all that data at your disposal, you can pay less each month. This $40 plan gives you a still generous 15GB chunk of data, with unused data rolling over to the next month.

If you're 55 years or older, you can get two lines of unlimited data at a discounted rate through AT&T. You will need to live in Florida to take advantage of this offer, however.

The best AT&T phone plan overall

AT&T Value Plus VL | unlimited data | $50.99/month - AT&T's best phone planPros: Cons:

AT&T Value Plus VL | unlimited data | $50.99/month - AT&T's best phone plan AT&T's best phone plan gives you unlimited data for the lowest possible rate — just $50.99 per month. There are some caveats to Value Plus, however. First, you can only have one line of data on the plan, so families will have to look elsewhere. Perks are also minimal — you get 5G coverage and unlimited talk, text and data between the U.S., Canada and Mexico plus free texting to 200-plus countries, but that's it. And AT&T can slow your speeds whenever its network gets congested. But if those are acceptable terms, you won't find a cheaper way to enjoy all the data you can consume. Pros: Cheapest unlimited plan at AT&T; Includes 5G Cons: Available for just one person; Speeds can slow at any time

Best AT&T phone plan value

AT&T Prepaid | unlimited data | $25/month — Low monthly prepaid rate

AT&T Prepaid | unlimited data | $25/month — Low monthly prepaid rate AT&T's best prepaid phone plan shows how you can save by paying upfront. By paying $300 for a full year of service, you get an unlimited data plan that breaks down to just $25 a month for coverage on AT&T's network. There is a 16GB cap on high-speed data including 5G, and if you go over that, your speeds slow down to a pokey 1.5Mbps  for the remainder of the billing cycle. But 16GB is a pretty generous chunk of data, and you can enjoy 10GB of hotspot data with your plan, too.

Pros: Hotspot data; Low monthly rate Cons: Big upfront payment; Speeds slow down after 16GB of use

Best AT&T family plan

AT&T Unlimited Extra UL | unlimited data | $163.96/month (four lines) — Best option for familiesPros:Cons:

AT&T Unlimited Extra UL | unlimited data | $163.96/month (four lines) — Best option for families The AT&T Unlimited Extra plan offers the best mix of price and features for families who want unlimited data through AT&T. A single line of Unlimited Extra costs $75.99, but escalating discounts as you add lines bring the per-line cost down to $40.99 for a family of four. For that you get 75GB of high-speed data before AT&T slows down your speeds, and each line can use 30GB of data for hotspotting. Pros: Big data cap; Hotspot data for each line Cons: T-Mobile offers better pricing; No streaming perks

Best AT&T phone plan for travelers

AT&T Unlimited Premium PL | Unlimited data | $85.99/month - Free coverage in Latin AmericaPros:Cons:

AT&T Unlimited Premium PL | Unlimited data | $85.99/month - Free coverage in Latin America At $85.99, Unlimited Premium is AT&T's most expensive plan. But travelers will appreciate that it includes talk, text and data coverage in 20 Latin American countries at no additional cost. Other perks to Unlimited Premium include 60GB of hotspot data and 4K video streaming support. Also, AT&T won't slow down your data speeds no matter how much data you use each month. Pros: No data caps at all; Coverage in 20 Latin American countries Cons: AT&T's most expensive plan

Best AT&T phone plan with tiered data

AT&T Prepaid | 15GB data | $40/month — Big bucket of prepaid dataPros:Cons:

AT&T Prepaid | 15GB data | $40/month — Big bucket of prepaid data Most of AT&T's plans offer unlimited data, but if you turn to the carrier's prepaid options, you can find this 15GB plan that gives you more than enough data for just $40 a month. You can use that data to turn your phone into a hotspot, and you can count on 5G access where available. Unused data rolls over into the next month. Pros: Rollover data; Includes coverage in Mexico and Canada Cons: Pricey compared to other prepaid plans; Speeds slowed to 128 Kbps when you hit your cap

Best AT&T phone plan for seniors

AT&T Unlimited 55+ Plan | unlimited data | $60/month — Great value for seniorsPros: Cons:

AT&T Unlimited 55+ Plan | unlimited data | $60/month — Great value for seniors Customers 55 years and older can enjoy unlimited talk, text and data for just $60/month, which beats the price of AT&T's standard unlimited plans. If you need a second line, the total cost is only $80/month, and 5G access comes with your plan. You've got coverage in Mexico and Canada as well as the u.S. and you can text from the U.S. to 200-plus countries. Sadly, only Florida residents are eligible for AT&T's senior discount. Pros: Low rate for two lines of unlimited data; 5G access included Cons: Restricted to Florida residents

Other AT&T plans

Unlike the extensive options among T-Mobile phone plans and Verizon phone plans , our top picks for AT&T cover most of the different plans at that carrier. However, there are a few remaining plans you should know about as well.

The Unlimited Extra and Unlimited Premium options make up two-thirds of AT&T's three main plans. The third option is the cheapest of the trio — Unlimited Starter costs $65.99 for just one line.  It offers just 5GB of hotspot data and AT&T can slow your data at any time. Unless you need hotspot data or want the ability to add extra lines, Value Plus will cost you even less.

AT&T's prepaid plans include three tiered data options, plus a pair of unlimited offerings. With tiered data, you can get 5GB for $30 a month if the 15GB plan is too pricey. Pay for three months of service at once, and you can get an 8GB plan at $33/month. (That's $99 up front.)

As for the unlimited prepaid plans, a $40 monthly caps your speeds at 3 Mbps for the first 30GB of data; after that, your speeds are cut in half for the rest of the billing cycle. Instead, we'd steer you toward the $50 prepaid unlimited plan which includes 5GB of hotspot data and only slows your speeds when there's heavy traffic. Note that those two plans reflect autopay discounts off their normal rate.

Low-cost AT&T alternatives

If you like AT&T's network, but don't care for AT&T's prices, there's more than one way to enjoy the carrier's extensive coverage. Mobile virtual network operators, or MVNOs, use AT&T's towers to provide their own service, usually at a lower rate than what AT&T charges. The trade-off is that AT&T gives priority to its own traffic so you may see slower data speeds.

The best-known AT&T MVNO is Cricket Wireless, which AT&T owns and operates. Cricket has a $40 monthly data plan that delivers 10GB of data. That's less than AT&T's best tiered data plan, but Cricket does offer an autopay discount to lower its cost to $35. An unlimited data plan at Cricket costs $65/month for one line but includes perks like the ad-supported tier of the Max streaming service — something you don't even get at AT&T.

Other AT&T MVNOs include the senior-friendly Consumer Cellular, Boost and Red Pocket Mobile.

best at&t plans

In our guide to the best phone carriers , AT&T ranks behind Verizon and T-Mobile among the major carriers, as T-Mobile offers better perks and Verizon offers an extensive network. That said, AT&T has a strong reputation for its own coverage, as Rootmetrics split its award for best overall network between AT&T and Verizon for performance during the second half of 2023. The same reort says AT&T has the speediest performance overall.

However, AT&T is in a bit of a weird spot. It's not quite as large a network as Verizon and lacks its intensive coverage and it isn't as affordable as our top ranked carrier - T-Mobile. While some of AT&T's plans can be quite expensive, it offers ways around this, most noticeably through family plan discounts and savings for nurses, teachers, first responders, military and more; you can also save with some schools, organizations and employers.

AT&T Business speeds: What’s best for you?

AT&T Business’ 300Mbps fiber plan is the best speed for most small businesses. You likely need faster speeds for more than five employees or customers regularly using the same Wi-Fi. But 300Mbps is a solid start, giving you ample bandwidth for email, virtual calls, and even running a web or email server.

Still, the speed needs of a business vary depending on the size of your office and the number of users on your Wi-Fi. The more employees you have using Wi-Fi–connected computers and phones, the faster your speeds should be.

Also, consider getting faster speeds if you regularly conduct business over the internet. The last thing you want is your company email or online transactions to slow to a crawl in the middle of a busy workday.

The best way to estimate how much speed you need is by counting the number of people in your office. Take a look at the table below for guidance.

How much speed does your business need?

At&t business data caps.

AT&T Business internet plans don’t have any data caps. That means you and your employees can use the internet as much as you need throughout the month without worrying about overages or throttled speeds.

Is AT&T Business internet available where you live?

Our favorite plan: AT&T Business Fiber 500 Mbps is an excellent plan for a wide range of businesses. This plan gives you superb speeds and unbeatable reliability. The plan’s symmetrical upload and download speeds ensure you get plenty of bandwidth to support all sorts of work tasks, ranging from basic email to video conference calls and running web servers. You don’t have to worry about data caps, customer support is available around the clock, and the ActiveArmor feature keeps your network safe from cyber threats.

Get an AT&T Visa Reward Card worth up to $500 when you sign up for AT&T Business Fiber.

You get a $250 card with the 500 Mbps plan or a $500 card with the 1 GIG plan or faster.

AT&T Business internet extra features

In addition to your AT&T Business Fiber package, you can add additional features to give your business a leg up against the competition.

Static IP addresses let you run web servers, email, and company VPNs

An IP address is the code that internet providers, servers, and other websites use to identify your location for transferring data. Most IP addresses are dynamic, meaning they change on a regular basis (usually every couple of weeks).

A static IP address, on the other hand, always stays the same. Static IP addresses come in handy because they provide a solid foundation for web servers, company email addresses, and VPNs.

AT&T Internet Backup protects your Wi-Fi from unexpected outages

In the event that your internet goes out, AT&T’s Internet Backup kicks in to keep your Wi-Fi rolling for mission-critical components like credit card readers and point-of-sale software.

The equipment works over a 4G LTE wireless connection (the same network as a cell phone), and you can use the backup for as long as necessary without worrying about data limits. The wireless hardware also comes with a backup battery, so it works even during power outages.

Advanced internet security keeps your network extra-safe

AT&T Business Fiber routers already come equipped with ActiveArmor security features, but you can add on additional security precautions to take a step further in preventing malware and ransomware attacks. The advanced security features include a VPN, an online dashboard to monitor blocked threats in real time, and a range of customizable security settings.

AT&T Phone for Business gives you phone service without a landline

AT&T Phone for Business gives you a digital phone service with unlimited calling across the United States, U.S. territories, Mexico, and Canada. It comes with a $50 reward card, so it’s a decent bundle deal if you don’t already have a phone line for your business phone set up.

AT&T Business internet fees

One of the best things about AT&T Business Fiber is that it doesn’t have a lot of extra fees. You don’t need to sign up for a contract—therefore you don’t have to worry about early termination fees if you cancel your service.

You get unlimited data, and you don’t have to pay extra for installation or for the gateway that comes with your plan. They say a dollar saved is a dollar earned, and lots of dollars are earned here.

AT&T Business internet installation, equipment, and contracts

AT&T Business Fiber requires professional installation—which technically costs $99 but gets waived when you order online.

AT&T Business installation and equipment

When you order your internet, you also pick a time for a professional technician to come by to set up your Wi-Fi.

The technician makes sure everything is wired up properly, and they set up your gateway (a combination modem/router that comes with your internet package). Professional installation normally costs anywhere from $100 to $200, so getting it free is a sweet deal.

AT&T Business internet contracts

AT&T Business internet plans don’t come with annual contracts. You’re free to cancel any time without having to pay early termination fees.

AT&T Business internet customer ratings

*Based on our annual customer satisfaction survey

AT&T has average to above-average ratings in our annual customer satisfaction survey . The provider’s fiber customers reported being especially happy with their service, giving much higher marks for speed and reliability than DSL customers did. AT&T’s Business internet plans all run over fiber-optic networks, so rest assured you get quality service.

In addition to our own survey, AT&T also took the lead in JD Power’s 2022 US Business Wireline Satisfaction Study.1 The provider’s Business Fiber enterprise plans beat out competitors Verizon and Cox Business for the fifth year in a row with a score of 872 out of 1,000.

AT&T Business vs. Comcast Business Internet

AT&T’s Business Fiber plans are a much better deal than Comcast Business Internet. You get faster speeds on AT&T’s fiber-optic connection with symmetrical uploads and downloads, which ensure smooth connections for all sorts of work tasks. You pay a lower price for faster plans. Comcast has lengthy contract terms, but AT&T has no contracts at all. And AT&T’s prices for extras like 4G LTE backup and static IP addresses are a lot cheaper too.

AT&T Business vs. Spectrum Business Internet

Spectrum and AT&T offer a lot of the same things—including round-the-clock customer support and add-on features like static IP addresses and wireless internet backup. One nice thing from Spectrum Business is you can get custom email addresses and domain registration for free. Still, AT&T has the edge over Spectrum because it gets you faster speeds over its fiber-optic connection.

AT&T Business vs. Verizon Business Internet

Verizon Business Fiber plans are undoubtedly excellent—Verizon has some of the fastest and most reliable fiber internet in the country. But its plans cost more than AT&T’s and come with a two-year contract. Verizon does offer some deals, including a price guarantee for up to three years and a Visa prepaid card worth up to $800. AT&T is still probably the better bet, just because it’s easier on the wallet. But either provider gets you top-notch service.

Is AT&T Business internet right for you?

AT&T Business internet is definitely the right pick for you if you value fast speeds and reliable service at an affordable price. You can’t beat AT&T’s symmetrical fiber-optic speeds, and its unlimited data and the absence of annual contracts give your business lots of flexibility. AT&T’s affordable add-ons like static IP addresses and 4G LTE backup are well worth the price too.

FAQ about AT&T Business internet

What are the best routers for at&t business internet.

The best router for AT&T Business is the gateway that comes with the service—you don’t have to pay anything extra, and it comes with a lot of useful security features.

If you want to use your own router, though, we recommend TP-Link’s AX6600 , a powerful piece of equipment that ensures wide Wi-Fi range with its eight antennas and keeps your network protected with security scans and other safety features.
