The advent of technology which has brought about the development of a whole new e-world aka, the Digital Age characterized by blogs, social networking sites and instant messaging, have significantly transformed the manner in which we communicate, yet threatened the very social fabric of our societies by posing unique challenges – cyber bullying being one of them. Cyber bullying is one of the fastest growing trends in the field of cyber crimes among teens, in recent times, and often leads to disastrous consequences for the victims ranging from long term psychological damage to physical and emotional distress and at times even death (Kowalski, Limber and Agatston, 2012).
The widespread reach and scope of cyber bullying among teens is apparent from various worldwide polls and surveys conducted over the years, which highlights the gravity of the issue. According to data made available by the Cyber bullying Research Center (Cyberbullying Research Center, 2011) approximately 20 of students reported experiences some sort of cyber bullying in their lifetimes, about 13.7 of them reported experiencing hurtful or insulting comments made against them; 12.9 of them reported being victims of rumors spread against them; which is incidentally one of the most common forms of cyber bullying. According to another customer research survey conducted in the U.S. in the year 2011, about 1 million children were reported to have been harassed, threatened or subjected to various forms of cyberbullying on social networking site such as Facebook during the period of one year (Consumer Reports, 2011).

According to Trolley and Hanel, (2009) Cyberbullying is defined as any activitiy involving “the use of information and communication technologies such as e-mail, cell phones, and pager text messages, instant messaging, defamatory personal web sites, and online personal polling web sites to support deliberate, repeated and hostile behavior by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others” (pp. 33).
It has also been defined to include the use of any form of internet media, or electronic device to cause intentional harm or injury to others. It includes but is not limited to, the acts of cyber stalking, impersonating, virtual threatening and / or hacking into others’ personal accounts such as email ids or social networking site accounts etc., with a sole intention of damaging the other person’s reputation and causing mental, emotional or social distress / harm.
Background:
Contemporary technology has revolutionized the social as well as cultural dimensions of human interaction, particularly with regard to the manner in which students especially teens, interact with each other. This has completely transformed the concept of bullying from its conventional approach of in-school to online bullying, more popularly known as cyber bullying. The adolescent aggression which was so far being witnessed in classrooms and playgrounds have now ventured into more private spheres via electronic communication (Hinduja and Patchin, 2008). The internet is fast becoming one of the most inevitable parts of our social lives, and in the process has redefined the meaning and scope of interpersonal communications. The digital citizens of today, who grew up with internet around them are more exposed to the ill effects of the same, than never before (Herring, 2008).
The fact that internet has penetrated almost all aspects of our lives, is quite apparent and undeniable. The overwhelming presence of such a powerful tool, and its easy access to teens have increased the vulnerability of the victims of bullying to unprecedented levels. Furthermore, the trend of social networking sites and instant messaging as a part of our everyday lives, has opened up novel ways of communication, at the same time exposing individuals to varied forms of cyber bullying across all platforms. In contemporary society, physical spaces are shrinking and the virtual space is expanding at a rapid rate, presenting newer avenues for the youth to hang out and socialize. The sheer amount of time spent by young people and adolescents on the internet, be it social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter or on blogs, virtual chat rooms or instant messaging, has provided them with an opportunity to form virtual identities, thus giving them immense power to dictate their terms and dominate others in the virtual spheres (Kowalski, Limber and Agatston, 2008 ).
Cyber bullying includes flaming, harassment, cyber stalking, as well as denigration. Flaming refers to an activity whereby the perpetrators of the crime engage in abusive behavior towards the victims, by way of passing on rude, abusive or derogatory messages about a person and share them in an online group such as social networking sites, group chat rooms or blogs (Li, 2007). The key characteristic of “flaming” is that it occurs in virtual public settings, where the messages posted by the perpetrators are visible and accessible to everyone else (Kowalski, Limber and Agatston, 2008). The term harassment refers to repeated exchange of abusive messages through electronic means (Li, 2007). Unlike ‘flaming’ harassment occurs in a private setting such as private email messages sent to the victims, or through one on one chat, although in some cases, it may occur in public settings as well. Cyber stalking refers to repeatedly stalking people online, keeping tabs on their online activities, in order to intimidate them (Kowalski, Limber, and Agatston, 2008). Denigration refers to posting of derogatory messages or hurtful comments against a person through an online medium (Willard 2004, in Liu, 2007).

Children have been historically exposed to some form of bullying including harassment, stalking and verbal and emotional abuse, in schools, playgrounds and other similar social settings. Aggressive behavior among teens and young children has always assumed the form of bullying, but these actions are now magnified to unprecedented proportions with the advent of technology. Bullying has now taken a whole new meaning, and has shifted from the closed setting of classroom environment to virtual bullying. The key problem with cyber bullying is the fact that the perpetrators of such crime are not visible or easily traceable. They are anonymous and have the power and ability to harm others discreetly, without the fear of getting caught or being punished. Such impunity has afforded them the boost to indulge in cyber bullying in an unabashed manner, with hardly any regret or remorse for their actions.
One of the most common victims of cyber bullying include young children and teens, who are known to spend more time online, and hence are highly vulnerable to such acts. Modern technology has offered a new and bigger platform for bullies to harass their victims, beyond the physical settings and carry out their threats in a virtual setting where their actions are hardly likely to be noticed and hence go unreported. The students today are highly tech savvy and this ability affords them an opportunity to use novel means to intimidate others (Patchin and Hinduja, 2006).
Finding effective solutions to the problem of cyber bullying is crucial to protect the children from potential harm. Cyber bullying is known to have disastrous consequences on the victims, who may suffer from serious physical or mental distress, loss of self-esteem due to constant verbal abuse and rumors spread against them, being mocked and ridiculed in a virtual public setting may seriously affect their self-confidence leading them to withdraw from social interactions driving them to take drastic measures.
The solution:
The problem of cyber bullying is one of the key issues faced by school authorities and parents of teens and young children, in modern times. It is hence of utmost significance to ensure that effective and viable solutions are implemented to avoid such acts and prevent disastrous consequences. Some such solutions which can be implemented are discussed below:
Spread awareness through informative programs
The schools must introduce programs which help in spreading awareness regarding the gravity of the issue. Such programs can be directed towards both – the students as well as the parents. The students must be taught to be morally responsible and made aware of the ill effects and consequences of cyber bullying on the victims as well as on those indulging in it. The parents on the other hand must be made aware about the types of issues that their children might be facing and the manner in which they can help out their children and protect them from such bullying in the virtual world. Implement internet safety rules in school as well as at home:
The virtual world is vast and has a huge outreach. It is hence of utmost significance that the students must be made aware of the potential damage that can be caused by careless attitudes of the students, and acts which seemingly appear to be innocent and harmless yet are likely to turn out to be fatal when circulated online. Today, children as young as 9 are active on the web, and comprise of the highly vulnerable segment of population which is prone to cyber bullying. They must be made aware of regarding the negative consequences of sharing private information online, and protect their privacy at all times while interacting with people online.
Use filtering and blockage software
There are various softwares available in the market that helps in preventing cyber bullying. These include: Puresight, Cyber bully and Net Nanny among many others. These softwares offer protection to children by monitoring their net usage, and forwarding alerts directly to their parents in case any unusual activity or case of cyber bullying is detected. These programs also offer the opportunity to permanently block trouble makers, and protect the victims from falling prey to deliberate acts of aggression online. Social media has become a well-known pastime of young individuals today. Websites that allow interactions on a social basis are usually considered social media sites. Web-based information is what people now turn to for speed, convenience, and overall depth. The internet has a pivotal impact on society today and is a rich subject for sociology writing . The availability of information has been enhanced due to updates in technology and because of this a sweeping progression of how people see each other and the world has taken on a direction of its own ("Cyberculture: Society, Culture, and the Internet," 2012). The Internet has become an entryway into how people understand events ranging from diseases such as diabetes to issues such as social media bullying.
The Emergence of Bullying Online
Bullying happens normally in the physical world, but has found its way into cyberspace. It often begins in primary school but has far reaching aspects into high school and beyond. Across a national sample of students surveyed from grades 4 through 12, 38% of students stated that they had been bullied and 32% stated that they had bullied or were bullying others. Bullying, by designation is recognized as a national health issue by the White House, by the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Psychological Association. Bullying exhibits itself in many different forms and the overall undercurrent in all bullying incidents whether in the physical world or in cyberspace is the perception of differences in individuals that range from characteristics such as race, gender, physical appearance, sexuality and economic status (Xu et al, n.d.).
Cyber bullying differs from the more conventional forms as it can occur at any time and through a vast amount of on the spot circulation mediums such as emails, images, texts and videos. The perpetrator can remain anonymous behind a computer as many social media sites allow individuals to make up fake user ids and many bullies tend to give false information upon registering on many social media platforms. The most common form of cyber bulling is through messages on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter and instant messaging ("Cyber-Bullying," 2012). The practice of cyber bullying on platforms such as these is not solely restricted to children and young adults, but to adults as well when examined through the lens of social media bullying. To ascertain further discourse on social media bullying, three specific mediums were examined: a video on social media bullying that dealt primarily with a woman named Amanda Todd who was bullied and subsequently took her life; a blog that handles cyber bullying and how to deal with it with references to Amanda Todd, and an audio podcast that spoke on bullying in school mostly, but also on social media bullying as well.
The 2012 YouTube video, "Cyber Bullying Awareness ~ RIP Amanda Todd," provided insight on social media bullying and was intently focused on Amanda Todd, a young woman, who took her life due to be being bullied on social media. It addressed all aspects of social media bullying and provided insight into the trends that seem to be apparent on Facebook and Twitter. The two women presented information about the advancement of technology and how it has become hazardous and nasty because individuals can get away with it.
The video reinforced how social media websites should provide an avenue in stopping bullying from happening and ceasing it from happening once a person such as Amanda Todd takes their own life. Amanda Todd was a young woman who was cyber bullied who recently took her own life. It also provided a look into criminal charges that need to be charged to those who are taking part in harassment on social media and the consequences that may result from it. The video did not provide any statistical information about social media bullying. It was more a rally for it to stop by two women who felt bad about what happened with Amanda Todd.
One blog by the Cyber Bullying Research Center discussed the impact of social media bullying. It also discussed Amanda Todd and what happened with her. The blogger, Justin Patchin, talked about how many individuals feel that they cannot handle the impact of being bullied on social media and the stress related to it. Social media bullying makes people feel helpless and increases the risk of individuals' who are being bullied to feel as if they will be the talk of the school or town. Patchin concluded by asking those who feel they are being bullied on social media for any reason to ask for help and finds someone they can trust to talk to.

Is Cyber Bullying the Worst Form of Bullying?
A podcast by The Prevention Researcher, discussed the impact of harassment in school and family violence and mentioned harassment overall. The podcast was an interview with Dr. Michael Green, who provides consultation services regarding youth predominantly. Greene defines the general consensus of bullying as: “a form of aggression; a power balance in characteristics that is important to both the victim and the bully; and that the process is repeated more than once," ("#008 Relational Aggression Among Youth: An Interview with Michael Greene," 2012). The podcast did not mention Amanda Todd as its sole focus within the context of bullying, but dealt with bullying in general, at both the school and social media platform.
Within the United States, there are currently a number of legislative pieces that have been directed at social media bullying given its rise in number over the last few years. Maryland, Missouri, New York and Rhode Island have all specifically introduced legislation in 2007 sought to curtail digital harassment. The following year, California took cyber bullying head on when they passed one of the first laws in the country that dealt direct with cyber bullying. The other states had only pursued legislation (McDermott, 2007). Research has suggested that awareness of it is the most essential element of social media bullying in addition to legislative recourse in handling the ongoing problem.
Bullying for the most part has been a continual problem in society. The problem has been exacerbated by social media. While social media is an excellent playground for ideas, musings and thoughts, the playground has become a breeding ground for angst, disgust and a cacophony of hate. It's very clear that cyber bullying is one of many unintended consequences of social networking today . The government needs to continue to understand the importance of confronting the problem of cyber bullying head on, before it continues and other issues result. Parents need to educate their children and young adults on safer ways to use social media platforms in order to potentially avoid the blitz that is social media bullying.

Social media is hailed as beneficial or detrimental by many. There is a constant argument as to whether the safety issues that social media presents is worth the entertainment value of being in constant contact with friends and family. Overall, it appears that social media has been detrimental to the emotional and educational growth of Americans over the past 10 years. While these applications have contributed to our ability to remain social, communications that occur over social media platforms have the ability to cause negative emotions and distract us from our work. Cyberbullying is related to both the reduction of emotional and educational growth of the population, and is it important to understand the relationships between these phenomena so that they could be put to an end.
Cyberbullying is responsible for the reduction of emotional growth of today’s children. Since children that use social media platforms are in constant communication with one another, there is an increased ability for bullying to occur without the knowledge of a parent or adult. As a consequence, many students are silently suffering from this victimization and there is no way to intervene with these attacks if the child does not report this abuse. Unfortunately, it is also challenging to trace back this behavior to a particular child even if it is reported. It is possible for parents to monitor their children’s social media profiles, but very frequently, parents elect to not do so in order to respect the privacy of their children. To prevent such behaviors, it is important to make children feel safe about reporting this negative treatment so that this harassment could be put to an end.
While many people argue that social media is distracting and therefore results in reduced grades, it is also important to consider that a major symptom of cyberbullying is a sudden drop in grades. Therefore, students who are bullied suffer from both an emotional and educational deficit. This indicates that it is important for schools to monitor the grades and behaviors of their students to determine whether they could be experiencing a traumatic event that is contributing to their failure to thrive. Since schools are considered responsible for both promoting a safe environment and academic growth, it is also the responsibility of the teachers and administration to detect and rectify problems related to cyberbullying. The decline in academic performance should be a red flag that raises concern of all adults involved in the child’s life, indicating the need for an intervention to take place.
In conclusion, social media is often said to have many advantages. However, when children are the victims of cyberbullying, their emotional and educational growth becomes stunted. It is therefore the responsibility of parents, administrators, and teachers to collaborate to recognize the symptoms of cyberbullying and to enact interventions as appropriate to ensure that these attacks are put to an end. As social media becomes more prevalent, it is likely that problems related to cyberbullying will continue to increase. Thus, it is necessary to determine systematic ways to prevent these cyberattacks from occurring, protecting the nation’s youth emotionally and academically before these problems become physical in nature.

Are you one of those people who rely on their phones to get them through the day? Do you consider Siri, Alexa, or Cortana your personal assistant? You’re not alone. While AI programs like virtual assistants, chat programs, and others can teach us a lot, there are some things you just shouldn’t ask Siri – and there are reasons.
Here are 16 questions you should not ask when interacting with Siri or other AI programs and tools. For the sake of convenience, let’s refer to Siri as she.
Personal Information
Trying to get someone else’s personal information from AI programs like Siri is a bad idea. Siri is programmed to take user privacy and security very seriously and is never supposed to provide or store sensitive personal information such as social security numbers, credit card details, birthdays, or addresses.
To protect your data from potential security breaches, never chat with Siri about your personal information or ask for someone else’s.
Medical Advice
Siri can provide general information on health topics, name symptoms, list side effects, or help you find a doctor or hospital. However, she is not a substitute for professional medical advice, and asking Siri for a diagnosis or treatment for a specific medical condition is never a good idea. If you have a health issue or concern, you must speak to a healthcare professional, not an AI program.
Inappropriate or Intimate Content
Asking Siri for explicit or inappropriate content such as adult material, offensive language, or graphic images is another huge no-no. Siri is designed to follow strict guidelines regarding content and language. This means that access to graphic, intimate, or harmful content is forbidden to help ensure a safe and appropriate user experience.
Criminal Activities
You should also never ask Siri for advice on illegal activities. Political Or Religious Opinions
Another bad idea is asking Siri for personal religious opinions or inciting heated political debates with a chat program. Most AI programs like Siri are programmed to remain neutral and unbiased on political, religious, and other controversial matters. While AI programs can give generic information about candidates or provide religious history, etc., asking for their thoughts on political views, religious beliefs, and other controversial issues is pointless.
Legal Advice
Siri is not a licensed attorney or legal expert; she is an AI program. That means asking for specific legal advice or assistance with your legal problems is not a great trial strategy. If you have legal questions or problems, talking to a qualified legal professional is the best bet.
Extreme or Harmful Actions
Siri is also not a great source of help for advice about extreme or harmful, violent actions. Siri is programmed to prioritize user safety and well-being and cannot advise on ways to harm anything – including yourself. However, she can provide resources for help to those who are suffering from depression or other mental illnesses.
Financial Decisions
Like many computer programs, Siri can provide general financial information or help with basic calculations. However, she is not a recommended advisor for investment advice, stock tips, or major financial decisions—not even a little. Instead, if you’re having financial problems or want to know more about investing, look for a reputable financial advisor.
Passwords or Security Credential
Just like personal information, asking Siri to reveal passwords, security codes, or sensitive login information for your accounts or anyone else’s is not a good idea. Remember that most AI is designed to protect user privacy and security, so it’s highly unlikely they’ll grant you access to private credentials anyway. This helps to prevent unauthorized access. After all, you could be anyone.
Personal Insults or Bullying
Another forbidden AI task is using Siri to make personal insults, engage in cyberbullying, or harass others. Not only is it inappropriate and disrespectful, but in some cases, it is illegal. Siri is programmed to promote peaceful and respectful communication, so using derogatory or hurtful remarks is inadvisable.
Prophecies or Predictions
You shouldn’t ask an AI program to predict the future besides daily weather forecasts or upcoming events. Asking for prophecies, predictions of future events, or lottery numbers is simply not within the capabilities of these programs.
While there are tales of much larger AIs that can use almost infinite sources of information to make predictions, Siri is not one of them. Her responses are based on the limited data and information available to her.
Confidential Business Information
Trying to acquire trade secrets or proprietary data could compromise company security and is illegal in most cases – so don’t expect Siri to help you with this. She can’t even give you your own company’s information, nor be allowed access to it.
Spying on Others
You should never ask Siri to spy on other people. That includes sneaky acts such as asking Siri to secretly record conversations, video someone without their knowledge, stalking, or monitoring someone else’s activities. This is an unethical use of AI. It’s also illegal in most circumstances and could land you in jail.
Bypassing Security Measures
It is also potentially illegal and highly inadvisable to use Siri to try and bypass security measures or access content that has been restricted. Trying to hack into websites, devices, or systems using AI is a great way to go directly to jail. Siri is not designed for these tasks and may be programmed to report such activity.
Cheating on Exams
It is a bad idea to ask Siri to help cheat on exams. Using Siri to ask for the answers to test questions, asking Siri to write essays, or any other task for school is inadvisable unless the teacher encourages using AI for a certain assignment. In most cases, students who are caught cheating in any form, with or without AI, will have to face the consequences of their actions.
Unproven Theories
Asking Siri to promote or prove fake news theories is another misuse of AI. AI is programmed to give users real information in an effort to increase their knowledge. Spinning false claims and pushing fake news can lead to the spread of harmful misinformation.
While Siri and other AI assistants can be incredibly helpful tools in our daily lives, certain tasks and behaviors are not appropriate or ethical to ask of them. It is important to remember that AI programs are designed to protect user privacy, promote respectful communication, and provide factual information. Asking Siri to go against her programming is not a good use of the technology and should be avoided.

By the end of the Second World War Stalin had managed to turn the Soviet Union into a superpower, both politically and militarily. Soviet troops were stationed in most of what soon became known as the East European countries, with devastating effect. One country after another came under Communist control. It took some time for the West to respond. Nato was not founded until April 1949, under the leadership of the United States: a defensive alliance in which an attack upon any of the countries would precipitate an immediate response by all of them. The new enemy of the Soviet Union, in Stalin’s eyes, was the United States — and, by extension, all the Jews. How did Stalin come to this conclusion?
The years after the war saw the establishment of the state of Israel. The first country to recognise Israel in 1948 was the Soviet Union. The most likely reason was that the Arab states at the time still had friendly relations with the United States. So Soviet Realpolitik supported Israel. Also Israel was run by the left-wing Labour Party, standing ideologically closer to the Soviet Union. Stalin might have hoped that Israeli troops would take the Suez Canal thereby delivering a mighty blow to the economy of the capitalist world. In fact, the survival of Israel in its 1948 War of Independence was helped by the delivery of weapons from the Soviet bloc.
In June of that year Golda Meir was appointed as the first ambassador (“Minister Plenipotentiary”) of Israel to the Soviet Union. She arrived in Moscow shortly before Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Despite being born in Kyiv, she spoke no Russian. But she was welcomed by a crowd of 50,000 at the Choral Synagogue of Moscow. This was also an opportunity for Golda Meir to speak Yiddish to Polina Zhemchuzhina, wife of the Soviet Foreign Minister Molotov, the language both of them had spoken in their childhood. There were reports that Zhemchuzhina acted as an informal interpreter for her husband in talks with Golda Meir.
All this was enough for Stalin’s innate anti-Semitism to resurface. He decided that the presence of Jews in the Soviet Union represented a security risk. He declared that every Jew in the Soviet Union was a potential American spy. This was a reversal of his policy on Israel and sharply in contrast to his policy conducted during the war years, when an Anti-Fascist Committee had been set up in order to persuade the government of the United States to help the Soviet war effort against German Fascism. But with Nazi Germany out of the picture, the Soviet Union no longer needed any Anti-Fascists. All the members of the Committee but one were executed, in a clear continuation of the trials of the 1920s and 1930s. The exception was Lina Shtern, a member of the Soviet Academy. Stalin, now himself in his seventies, was very interested in her academic work on longevity.
In the last few months of his life Stalin did not see any reason to hide his anti-Semitism. An opportunity to do so was provided by a letter to him by Dr Lydia Timashuk, a radiologist, who claimed that several leaders of the Soviet Union including Zhdanov were deliberately misdiagnosed, thereby shortening their lives. This developed into a major investigation, with several mostly Jewish Kremlin doctors arrested. Dr Timashuk was awarded the Order of Lenin for her vigilance in unmasking the doctors. This was the notorious Doctors’ Plot.
Stalin’s ultimate aim was probably to deport all Jews to remote parts of Siberia. In the meantime he introduced laws restricting the livelihood of the Jewish community. Khrushchev describes in his memoirs ( Khrushchev remembers ) talking to Stalin around this time. The subject was some trouble reported in an aviation factory in which some Jews were allegedly involved. Stalin turned to me and said: “The good workers at the factory should be given clubs so they can beat the hell out of those Jews at the end of the working day.”
There was a long list of Stalin’s anti-Jewish measures introduced (see Medvedev’s Let History judge ) from which I shall choose some representative examples, as follows:
Purge of Jews from the Central Committee.
Quotas for Jews entering Universities.
Complete ban on Jews entering elite Universities.
The fabrication of the Slansky case, (a Czech Communist politician accused of contacts with Zionist organisations).
The closing of the Jewish theatre.
Murder of Mikhoels, a well-known Jewish actor and a ban on any investigation into his death.
The arrest of Jewish officials at several factories.
Discharge of Jewish political officials from the Army,
The removal of the portrait of Felix Mendelssohn from the Moscow Conservatory — an unusual way of assessing musical talent.
The arrest of Jews who expressed a desire to go to Israel.
Inflammatory articles in leading newspapers, including Pravda and Izvestiya.
Stalin forced his daughter Svetlana to divorce her Jewish husband.
Malenkov forced his daughter Volya to divorce her Jewish husband.
Dismissal of Jewish staff from academic institutions.
Demotion of heads of various institutions who refused to dismiss their Jewish staff. One of those demoted was Chumakov, who introduced Sabin’s polio vaccine to the Soviet Union.
Meanwhile the debate went on what should have been the correct treatment for Zhdanov. Stalin did not reply to Timashuk’s letter, probably waiting for Zhdanov to die, so providing for him a corpus delicti. The Security Services were disoriented. The head of the organisation, Abakumov, was arrested. He was replaced by his deputy, Ryumin, whose contribution to the science of Criminology is worth mentioning: “The question of your guilt is decided by the fact of your arrest.” Nonetheless, in spite of Ryumin’s efficiency in finding criminals, he was also executed.
Unfortunately for Stalin, progress was slow. In contrast to the politicians of the 1920s and 1930s, the doctors were reluctant to confess to the fabricated crimes, or they confessed but later repudiated their confessions. Stalin recommended to the investigators “to beat them until they confess”. The advice was taken. Two of the accused died under interrogation, but still the elements of the grand plan just did not fit together. The jigsaw had many blocks still missing. Some historians argue that there was not much evidence for the existence of a grand plan. Those who argue that there were already advanced plans point out the known presence of a fleet of cattle-wagons at some Moscow railway stations. Big new camps were built in Birobidzhan — a remote town on the border with China that had been the centre of the Jewish Autonomous Oblast in the Soviet Union since the 1920s. It seems unlikely that the full truth will ever be known.
How did the world learn that the Doctors’ Plot had been fabricated? I know how it happened in Hungary, where I was living when Stalin died in 1953. A few weeks after his death, there was a brief report at the bottom of page 4 in the Communist Party newspaper: “Dr Timashuk’s Order of Lenin has been withdrawn.”
