How do I add music to a slideshow?

To add music to a slideshow, first make sure that you’re using a slideshow maker with music compatibility. In PowerPoint, follow these steps:

Open your PowerPoint presentation and select the slide where you want to add music.

Click on the Insert tab in the ribbon menu.

Click on the Audio button and select Audio on My PC.

Browse to the folder on your computer where the audio file is located and select it.

Click on the Insert button.

To share your PowerPoint slideshow, follow these steps:

Open your presentation and click Share at the top right of your screen.

If your presentation isn't already stored on OneDrive, select where to save your presentation to the cloud.

Choose a permission level, like Anyone with a link , or maybe just people in your company. You can also control if people can edit or just view the doc. 

Select Apply.

Enter names and a message.

Select Send.

Video and animated gifs not working in PowerPoint 365 when presenting in Chrome or Firefox and Ubuntu

I have a PowerPoint presentation that I've created in my OneDrive. I have added videos (mp4 and m4v) and animated gifs to my PowerPoint presentation. When I view and present from Chrome in Windows, both the animated gif and the videos work as expected. The animated gif plays automatically and the video plays when you start it.

However, when using Chrome or Firefox in Ubuntu, both do not work when presenting (they do work when not presenting). Both are shown as static images and there's no play button for the video. How do I get the videos and animated gif to work when presenting?

As per the description, we understand the scenario you are facing and we tried to deploy some tests with and here I attached a gif to show my test results in Firefox and Chrome in Windows 11.

But from the description, it seems like you are seeing the correct process when presentation in Chrome and Firefox in Window, while in Ubuntu is not working as expected. If so, this issue may be caused by a compatibility issue between the browser and the operating system. Due to the limited test environment, please redirect to our online support team where escalated engineers will help you further investigation on this behavior and confirm the behavior on the same device environment. Otherwise, you can request a remote session so that the engineers can access to troubleshoot on your device directly.
