Kashmir is a beautiful region that resides in an extremely mountainous area, containing some of the highest peaks in the world. Unfortunately, this amazing land has remained a constant battleground between the two countries of India and Pakistan.

The dispute began from the First Kargil War in 1947-1948 which led to the establishment of the LOC, line of control. The LOC still divides the land of Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

As part of the Simla Agreement in 1972, there was an agreement that neither India nor Pakistan would contest the border by making use of military means. Since the agreement, both countries began guarding the border heavily for the majority of the year. During the exceedingly cold winter months, both the Indian and Pakistani guards abandon their posts, only to return back in the spring.

However, during the winter of 1998-1999, a surprise attack took place from the Pakistan army and it became successful in crossing the LOC and into India’s portion of Kashmir. Moreover, slowly and gradually, they went on capturing one Indian outpost after another and held their position in Kargil.

In February 1999, at the same time as the winter invasion, the Lahore Declaration was being signed between India and Pakistan which was based on peace. After a few months, the Kargil war began between the two countries. Furthermore, a series of bloody battles were fought between the two nations of India and Pakistan.

The battles posed a huge challenge for the Indian forces as they had to fight on difficult mountainous terrain.  In spite of this challenge, the Indian soldiers showed amazing bravery. After a long struggle, the Indian army became successful in pushing back the Pakistani forces across the line of control.

500 Words Essay on Kargil War

The Kargil War, also known as Operation Vijay, was a significant armed conflict between India and Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir and elsewhere along the Line of Control (LOC). The war is remembered for its strategic and tactical surprises, the scale of the high-altitude warfare, and the number of casualties on both sides.

The Prelude

The roots of the Kargil War can be traced back to the unresolved Kashmir dispute and the resulting skirmishes along the LOC. Following the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the Simla Agreement was signed between the two nations, which resulted in a ceasefire along the LOC. However, the peace was short-lived. The infiltration of Pakistani soldiers and Kashmiri militants into positions on the Indian side of the LOC led to the outbreak of the Kargil War.

The Course of the War

The war began with the covert infiltration of Pakistani troops across the LOC. The Indian Army, aided by the Indian Air Force, retaliated by launching a massive military offensive on the infiltrators. The high-altitude warfare in the rugged terrains of Kargil posed significant logistical challenges. However, the Indian forces adapted and gradually recaptured most of the peaks that Pakistan had seized.

International Diplomacy and Conclusion of the War

The international community, led by the United States, played a crucial role in de-escalating the conflict. Under immense international pressure and faced with the Indian military’s determined response, Pakistan was forced to withdraw its forces across the LOC. The war officially came to an end on July 26, 1999, which is celebrated in India as Kargil Vijay Diwas.

The Aftermath

The Kargil War had profound implications for both India and Pakistan. It led to a significant shift in India’s military and foreign policy. The war highlighted the need for modernisation and upgradation of India’s defence capabilities, leading to significant defence reforms. For Pakistan, the war exposed the limitations of its military strategy and resulted in international diplomatic isolation.

The Legacy of the Kargil War

The Kargil War holds a unique place in the annals of military history due to the nature of high-altitude warfare and the valor displayed by the Indian Army. The war also catalysed a shift in public perception about national security, leading to a renewed focus on strategic defence policy and military preparedness.

In conclusion, the Kargil War was a significant event in the history of Indo-Pakistani relations. It not only highlighted the unresolved issues between the two nations but also underlined the importance of effective diplomacy and military preparedness in maintaining peace and security in the region.

Long Essay on Kargil Vijay Diwas – 1400 Words

Introduction

The Kargil War was the battle in which the Pakistani army tried to capture the Drass-Kargil hills. Kargil War is proof of Pakistan’s wrong intentions. Historians have an opinion about the then Army chief of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf tried to come under the limitations of India. India fought with bravery and defeated Pakistan. The Kargil war is proof of the defeat of Pakistan; India has lost many of its brave warriors whose sacrifice became an example for this country. The country will never forget the sacrifices of these sons, so every year on 26th July we consider Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Reason of Kargil War

The intention of Pakistan, when India-Pakistan separated, was that the whole of Kashmir should remain in the share of Pakistan; they always adopt different infiltration methods to get Kashmir. One of the methods which led to the Kargil war was an attempt to enter the borders of India. The courage of Pakistan had increased so much that even after entering the border, they killed the Indian soldiers who went to the incident place for patrolling, India did not suspect that Pakistan’s mind was to war. Finally, seeing the wrong activities of Pakistan, India declared war.

In the beginning, India was unaware of the intentions of Pakistan but a shepherd informed about the footsteps of the Pakistani army at the hills of Kargil. Soon when India was informed about this they immediately by patrolling tried to know more about the information provided. The attack by Saurabh Kalia’s patrol team revealed the presence of infiltrators in that area.

Initially, the Indian Army considered these infiltrators to be Jihadis and sent a small number of its troops to drive them out, but after the counter-attacks from the rivals and the news of the presence of infiltrators in several areas one after the other, the Indian Army understood. It did not take long that it was actually a planned and large-scale infiltration, in which not only the Jihadis but the Pakistani army was also involved. Realizing this, the Indian Army started ‘Operation Vijay’, in which 30,000 Indian soldiers were involved.

Mission Vijay

India had blown the trumpet of war against Pakistan, under which India named this mission as Mission Vijay. Many weapons were used in the war of Kargil. On 23 May 1999 Indian Air Force declared a mission called “operation white sea”. During the war, the Indian Air Force combined with the Indian army and supported them to fight against Pakistan. The Indian Air Force used MiG-27 and MiG-29 in the Kargil war against Pakistani soldiers. The war was so much disastrous that even it is told about the war that after the Second World War a country had used so many missiles and bombs on another country.

Major Stages of Kargil War

First, Pakistan launched its army infiltration into the Indian-occupied Kashmir area and strategically occupied the National Highway 1 (NH1) position within the range of its artillery. In the second phase, India detected this infiltration and sent the Indian Army to those places to respond to it. In the final phase, the war between India and Pakistan started and as a result, India conquered all the places where Pakistan had occupied. Due to international pressure, the Pakistani government moved its forces from the line of control.

State Honor of Martyr Soldiers

War is a terrible experience. If victory and defeat are put aside, then it is very difficult to understand the pain of those who have lost their loved ones. When a soldier enlists in the army, he does not know whether he will return from the battlefield or not. The sacrifice of a soldier is supreme. Realizing this, to pay respect to the soldiers killed in the Kargil war, the dead bodies of the martyrs were brought to their homes, and their last rites were performed with state honors.

Consequence or Outcome of the Kargil War

Pakistan and his army were defeated again and again by the Indian army but they do not understand that war in every aspect is bad for both countries. The then prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif confesses that he was unaware of the activities done by the Pakistan army and others. Later By political pressure, he resigned from his post. Any war between India and Pakistan never has started from the side of India. Every time Pakistan instigates us to fight and create a situation like war.

The outcome of this war has a positive impact on India and a drastic negative impact on Pakistan. Pakistan felt shameful in front of the world after this war by their biggest defeat. On the other hand, the people of India get to know about the drastic power of man and the army. The people of India developed a vision to protect their country and showed immense love and care for each and every person who participated in the war. 350 Words Kargil Vijay Diwas Essay

Despite the attempts by both countries to control the Siachen Glacier by setting up military outposts on the surrounding mountain ridges in the 1980s that resulted in military skirmishes between the two neighboring nations after the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the two nations had experienced relatively few direct armed conflicts since that time.

However, tensions and conflict increased in the 1990s as a result of separatist activities in Kashmir and nuclear tests conducted by both countries in 1998.

Lahore Declaration was signed in February 1999 as an attempt to defuse the conflict by promising a peaceful and bilateral solution. Pakistani troops and paramilitary forces were trained and sent within the Indian side of the line of control (LOC) during the winter of 1998-1999. Known as “Operation Badri”, the infiltration was carried out under code names.

The Pakistani incursion was intended to cut off Kashmir from Ladakh and force India to negotiate a settlement for the Kashmir dispute by withdrawing from the Siachen Glacier. As well, Pakistan believed that increasing tensions in the region would expedite a resolution to the Kashmir issue.

The Indian State of Kashmir’s decade-long rebellion may likewise have been boosted by taking a proactive role in promoting its morale. The Indian troops in the area assumed at first that the infiltrators were jihadis and announced they would expel them soon. However, they did not know the nature or extent of the invasion.

The Indian army realized that the attack was on a much larger scale after discovering infiltration elsewhere along the LOC, along with different tactics used by the infiltrators. Most researchers believe that the total area seized by the ingress is between 130 and 200 km2.

200,000 Indian troops were mobilized as part of Operation Vijay, the Government of India’s response. In 1999, Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated to mark the end of the Kargil war. The war claimed the lives of 527 Indian soldiers.

Kargil war lasted just over 60 days, but on this day Pakistani forces took control of the Indian high outposts by exploiting the melting snow and – in violation of bilateral agreements – unattended the posts during winter. A state holiday is observed in honor of the Kargil War heroes on Kargil Diwas or Kargil Vijay Diwas. In Kargil and in New Delhi, this day is celebrated. During Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate, the Prime Minister pays tribute to the soldiers.

500 Words Kargil Vijay Diwas Essay

A battle was fought during the Kargil War by the Pakistani army in an attempt to conquer the Drass-Kargil hills. Pakistan’s wrong intentions are evident in the Kargil War. Pervez Musharraf, the then Pakistani Army chief, has been criticized by historians for trying to conform to Indian limitations. Pakistan was defeated by India due to its bravery. It is evident from the Kargil war that Pakistan has been defeated; many brave Indians have lost their lives. Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on the 26th of July to honor these sons of our country who made the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Reason for Kargil War

In the past, Pakistan has always used different infiltration methods to obtain Kashmir when India and Pakistan separated; it is also suspected that Pakistan wanted to keep all of Kashmir in its hands. A failed attempt to enter the Indian border led to the Kargil war. India had no idea that Pakistan planned a war until soldiers from Pakistan entered the border and killed Indian soldiers. After Pakistan’s wrongdoings were revealed.

As the Pakistani army marched through the mountains of Kargil, a shepherd informed India of its intentions. Upon hearing about this, India immediately began patrolling the area to determine the validity of the information. It was revealed that infiltrators were present in that area after Saurabh Kalia’s patrol team attacked.

Several infiltration reports from rivals and counterattacks from rivals led the Indian Army to realize that infiltrators were present in several areas. As soon as it became apparent that the Jihadis and the Pakistani army were also involved, it became clear that this was a planned and large-scale infiltration. Indian soldiers were involved in Operation Vijay, which was carried out by the Indian Army.

Mission Vijay

After India blew the war trumpet against Pakistan, this mission was called Mission Vijay. There were many weapons used to fight Kargil. “Operation White Sea” was declared by the Indian Air Force on 23 May 1999. A combination of the Indian Air Force and the Indian army fought against Pakistan during the war. During the Kargil war, Indian aircraft attacked Pakistani soldiers with MiG-27s and MiG-29s. In the aftermath of the Second World War, numerous missiles and bombs were used on other countries.

State Honor of Martyr Soldiers

There is nothing more terrible than war. The pain felt by those who have lost a loved one is difficult to understand if victory and defeat are excluded. It is unclear whether a soldier will return from the battlefield when he enlists in the army. Soldiers make the ultimate sacrifice. The dead bodies of the martyrs were brought home with state honors to pay respect to the soldiers who died in the Kargil war.

Conclusion of the Essay on Kargil Vijay Diwas in English

Indian history will never forget the Kargil war. In spite of this, it was a historic event that inspired a strong sense of patriotism in all Indians. It is an inspiration for all citizens of this country to witness the bravery and strength of the Indian soldiers.

Captain Vikram Batra was born to a family of teachers, his father a principal of a government school and his mother a school teacher. Batra was active in sports during his school time, especially in table tennis and karate, in which he was a green belt holder.

Batra attended the DAV college in Chandigarh , enrolling in Bsc Medical Sciences. It was during his stint at the DAV college that he became a cadet with the National Cadet Corps (NCC). He was adjudged the best NCC Air Wing cadet of Punjab Directorate, North Zone, during the inter-state NCC Camp. Batra soon worked his way up to become the Senior Under Officer at his NCC unit and eventually marched at the Republic Day Parade in 1994. That’s when he told his parents he wanted to join the army.

Batra also had an offer from a shipping company headquartered in Hong Kong to join the merchant navy. But Batra declined the offer and enrolled in a MA English course at Panjab University instead, so he could prepare for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam.

Festive offer

Top recruit

Batra took the CDS exam and was selected by the Services Selection Board (SSB) at Allahabad in 1996. In the order of Merit, Batra was among the top 35 recruits. After completing an year in his MA course, Batra joined the Indian Military Academy(IMA) in Dehradun and was part of the Manekshaw Battalion.

He completed a rigorous 19-month training course and was commissioned into the Indian Army as lieutenant in the 13th battalion, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles. He received his first posting to Sopore, Baramulla, after he underwent additional training in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh .

Sopore was an area of significant militant activity, and Batra had many skirmishes with the militants. Batra also undertook the Commando course in Belgaum and was awarded the highest honour — that of an Instructor’s Grade.

The Kargil War

Batra’s battalion, the 13 JAK Rifles came to Drass in early June. By then, the Kargil conflict had been underway for a month and had escalated to a full-out war. Irregular and regular Pakistani troops had infiltrated into the Indian side of the Line Of Control and captured strategic Indian territories. The Indian Army, with the help of the Indian Air Force, had launched Operation to reclaim the territories.

Batra’s battalion, the 13 JAK Rifles were to act as reserves to the 2nd battalion, the Rajputana Rifles. The 13 JAK Rifles played a significant role in the capture of Point 5140 under the leadership of Lt Col. Yogesh Kumar Joshi. It was during the briefing for the capture of Point 5140 that Batra used the phrase ‘Yeh Dil Mange More’ – taken from a popular Pepsi ad campaign – as his success signal.

Batra was severely injured during the attack, but he killed three enemy combatants and a large number of arms and ammunition were recovered. India didn’t suffer a single loss of life during the capture of Point 5140. In fact, the victory started off a string of successful recaptures, and the Indian army captured Point 5100, Point 4700, Junction Peak and the Three Pimple Complex.

Distinguished himself

Lieutenant Batra’s triumph at Point 5140 had been played across on national TV. General Ved Prakash Malik, the then Chief of Army Staff had called Batra up personally to congratulate him on the triumph. Batra, who was still a lieutenant at that point, was promoted to the rank of a Captain.

In the meanwhile, his battalion the 13 JAK Rifles was sent to Mushkoh valley, under the command of 79 Mountain Brigade. The battalion was assigned the task of recapturing Point 4875, a peak that held significant strategic importance, for it dominated National Highway 1, right from Dras to Matayan. It made a stretch of about 35-40 kilometres of national highway come under direct observation of the Pakistani forces, and they could easily watch the Indian army’s movements and troops movements.

Batra was unwell with fever and was recuperating in a sleeping bag. After initial reconnaissance, the operation was launched at night. The assault continued all night, with Indian forces facing stiff enemy fire from Pakistani snipers. Point 4875 was captured, and so was Area Flat Top an adjacent peak. But immediately after that, enemy forces launched their first counter offensive to recapture Area Flat Top. The Indian army was holding the area under Captain NA Nagappa, and they had fended off the first counter attack. Nagappa was injured. At the same time, the Pakistani forces started a second counter-attack to gain back Area Flat Top.

At this stage, Batra volunteered himself as reinforcement for the attack. Several other soldiers of his company offered to accompany him, without official orders. Many even risking a court martial. Batra, accompanied by 25 other men, prayed at a Durga temple and left in the middle of the night to recapture the feature.

The battle continued till daylight. Batra killed four enemy soldiers and successfully defended Area Flat Top. He was evacuating an injured soldier when he was hit in the chest from an enemy sniper and a second later was hit by a Rocket Propelled Grenade(RPG). Batra breathed his last next to his fellow company man.

Captain Batra was awarded the Param Vir Chakra on August 15, 1999. The award was received by his father on January 26, 2000, during the Republic Day Parade by President KR Narayanan.

Part of the citation read “ …Despite sustaining grave injuries, he crawled towards the enemy and hurled grenades clearing the position with utter disregard to his personal safety, leading from the front, he rallied his men and pressed on the attack and achieved a near impossible military task in the face of heavy enemy fire. The officer, however, succumbed to his injuries.

Inspired by his daredevil act, his troops fell upon the enemy with vengeance, annihilated them and captured Point 4875. Captain Vikram Batra, thus, displayed the most conspicuous personal bravery and leadership of the highest order in the face of the enemy and made the supreme sacrifice in the highest traditions of the Indian Army.”

Captain Batra has been recognised across the country for his valour and bravery. Given his role in the capture of Point 4875, the mountain has been named Batra Top. The Service Selection Centre in Allahabad has named a hall as the Vikram Batra Block. The IMA in Dehradun has named a cadet’s mess as the Vikram Batra Mess. The Mukarba Chowk and its flyover have been renamed Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Chowk.

The film, Shershaah, revisits the life and journey of Captain Vikram Batra, complete with his relationship with Dimple Cheema. In the film, actor Kiara Advani plays the role of Cheema. It’s not the first time that Batra’s life has been captured on screen, In the 2003 war film LOC:Kargil, actor Abhishek Bachchan essayed the role of Vikram Batra.

Kargil War Essay in English 300 Words

Our nation endured a very trying time during the Kargil War. Additionally, it was a time of crisis that sparked a sense of nationalism, patriotism, and unity among all Indians. This essay on the Kargil War will shed light on the conflict’s various developments and effects. A stunning region with some of the highest peaks in the world, Kashmir is located in a very mountainous area. Unfortunately, India and Pakistan have continued to fight over control of this magnificent land.

The First Kargil War (1947–1948), which resulted in the establishment of the LOC (line of control), is where the conflict started. The LOC continues to divide Kashmir between Pakistan and India. It was agreed that neither India nor Pakistan would use force to defend their border as part of the Simla Agreement in 1972. Following the agreement, both nations started to heavily patrol the border for the majority of the year. Both the Indian and Pakistani guards leave their posts during the bitterly cold winter months, only to return in the spring.

However, a surprise attack by the Pakistani army occurred in the winter of 1998–1999, and it was successful in crossing the LOC and entering India’s portion of Kashmir. Additionally, they continued to take over Indian outposts one by one while maintaining their position in Kargil.

The Lahore Declaration, based on peace, was signed between India and Pakistan in February 1999, concurrently with the winter invasion. The two nations’ Kargil war broke out after a few months. Additionally, India and Pakistan fought a number of bloody wars against one another.

The battles were extremely difficult for the Indian forces because they had to engage in combat in treacherous mountainous terrain.  Despite this obstacle, the Indian soldiers exhibited incredible bravery. The Indian army finally succeeded in driving the Pakistani forces back across the line of control after a protracted battle.

Essay on Kargil War in English 500 Words

Introduction .

The Pakistani army engaged in combat during the Kargil War in an effort to seize control of the Drass-Kargil hills. Kargil War makes Pakistan’s bad intentions clear. Historians have criticised the former head of the Pakistani Army, Pervez Musharraf, for making concessions to India. India bravery led to victory over Pakistan. The Kargil conflict made it clear that Pakistan had lost; many valiant Indians had died. Every year on July 26th, Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed to honour these sons of our nation who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Cause of the Kargil War

When India and Pakistan split up in the past, Pakistan always used a variety of infiltration techniques to take Kashmir; it is also suspected that Pakistan wanted to retain control of all of Kashmir. The Kargil war started after a failed attempt to cross the Indian border. Before Pakistani soldiers crossed the border and killed Indian soldiers, India was unaware that Pakistan had plans to start a war. after Pakistan’s transgressions were made public.

A shepherd informed India of the Pakistani army’s plans as it advanced through the Kargil mountains. When India learned of this, she started patrolling the area right away to check the veracity of the report. The attack by Saurabh Kalia’s patrol team revealed that there were infiltrators there.

The Indian Army became aware that infiltrators were present in several areas as a result of numerous infiltration reports from rivals and counterattacks from rivals. It became clear that this was a planned and extensive infiltration as soon as it was discovered that the Jihadis and the Pakistani army were also involved. Operation Vijay was carried out by the Indian Army and involved Indian soldiers.

The Mission Vijay

This mission received the name Mission Vijay after India declared war on Pakistan. To combat Kargil, numerous weapons were employed. The Indian Air Force declared “Operation White Sea” on May 23, 1999. During the conflict, Pakistan was fought by a coalition of the Indian army and air force. Indian aircraft using MiG-27s and MiG-29s attacked Pakistani soldiers during the Kargil War. Many missiles and bombs were used against other nations after the Second World War.

State Remembrance for Martyr Soldiers

Nothing is more horrible than war. It is difficult to comprehend the suffering of those who have lost a loved one if victory and defeat are not considered. When a person joins the military, it is unknown if they will return from battle. A soldier’s ultimate sacrifice is made. Background of the War

It not only highlighted the unresolved issues between the two nations but also underlined the importance of effective diplomacy and military preparedness in maintaining peace and security in the region.

essay on kargil war in 150 words

Why is Kargil Diwas celebrated?

Taking command of the high outposts was achieved by India on July 26, 1999.

Essay on War - A nation or organisation may turn to war to reach its goals, but what is the actual cost of progress? Countless lives have been lost to war and continue to be lost. It costs a lot of money and resources as well. Wars have always been brutal, deadly, and tragic, from the American Revolution to World Wars I and II to the Crusades and the ancient Hundred Years' War. Here are a few sample essays on "war" .

War Essay

100 Words Essay on War

The greatest destroyers of people in modern times are wars. No matter who wins a war, mankind loses in every case. Millions of people have died in battles during the past century, with World Wars I and II being the worst. Wars are typically fought to protect a nation. Whatever the motive, it is hazardous conduct that results in the loss of millions of priceless innocent lives and has dangerous impacts that even future generations will have to deal with.

The results of using nuclear bombs are catastrophic. The weapons business benefits when there is a war elsewhere in the world because it maintains its supply chain. Weapons that cause massive destruction are being made bigger and better. The only way to end wars is to raise awareness among the general public.

200 Words Essay on War

Without a doubt, war is terrible, and the most devastating thing that can happen to humans. It causes death and devastation, illness and poverty, humiliation and destruction. To evaluate the devastation caused by war, one needs to consider the havoc that was wrecked on several nations not too many years ago. A particularly frightening ability of modern wars is that they tend to become global so that they may absorb the entire world. The fact that some people view war as a great and heroic adventure that brings out the best in people does not change the fact that it is a horrible tragedy.

This is more true now that atomic weapons will be used to fight a war. War, according to some, is required. Looking at the past reveals that war has drastically changed throughout the nation's history. The destructive impacts of war have never been more prevalent in human history. We have experienced lengthy and brief wars of various kinds. There have been supporters of nonviolence and the brotherhood of man. Buddha, Christ, and Mahatma Gandhi have all lived. Despite this, war has always been fought, weapons are always used, military power has always been deployed, and there have always been armies in war.

500 Words Essay on War

If we take a closer look at human history, it will become evident that conflicts have existed ever since the primitive eras. Although efforts have been made to end it, this has not been successful so far. Thus, it appears that we are unable to achieve eternal peace. Many defend wars by claiming that nature's rules require them. Charles Darwin is placed in front of them to illustrate their point. He was the one who created the rule of the fittest. He claimed that everything in nature, whether alive or dead, is constantly engaged in a battle for survival. Only the strongest will survive in this fight. Therefore, it is believed that without battle, humankind won't be able to progress.

Impacts of War

People fail to see that war invariably results in severe damage. They ignored the nonviolent principles taught by Mahatma Gandhi, who used them to liberate his country from the shackles of slavery. They fail to consider that if Gandhi could push out the powerful Britishers without resorting to violence, why shouldn't others do the same? Wars are unavoidable calamities, and there are no words to adequately depict the vast quantity and scope of their tragedies. The atrocities of the two world wars must never be forgotten. There was tremendous murder and property devastation during the battles. There were thousands of widows and orphans. War spreads falsehoods and creates hatred. People start acting brutally selfishly. Humanity and morals suffer as a result.

War is an Enemy

War is the enemy of all humanity and human civilisation. Nothing positive can come of it. Consequently, it should never be celebrated in any way. In addition to impeding national progress, it undermines social cohesion. It slows down the rate of human progress. Wars are not the answer to the world's issues. Instead, they cause issues and generate hatred among nations. War can settle one issue but creates far too many other ones. The two most horrific examples of the war's after-effects are Hiroshima and Nagasaki. People are still enduring the effects of war 77 years later. Whatever the reason for war, it always ends in the widespread loss of human life and property.

Disadvantages of War

Massive human deaths and injuries, the depletion of financial resources, environmental degradation, lost productivity, and long-term harm to military personnel are all drawbacks of war. Families are split apart by war. Both towns and cities are destroyed by it. People become more sensitive, and every industry faces collapse. People’s health declines physically and they lose their sense of security. They won't have any security, and those who win the battle will treat the citizens of the defeated nation as their slaves and prohibit them from the right to work. After the war, there will be a lack of jobs and corruption issues for the nation to deal with.

Russia – Ukraine War

The world saw great turmoil beginning in February 2022 with the Russian-Ukraine War. Russia's invasion of Ukraine was the most serious conventional attack on a nation, bringing a severe economic crisis to the world. India has taken a neutral stance for Russia, keeping in mind the two countries' long-standing alliance, especially in its foreign policies and positive international relationships. Russia was concerned about Ukraine's security due to its intention to join NATO and invaded Ukraine in 2014. Additionally, Russia provided help to the rebels in the eastern Ukrainian districts of Donetsk and Luhansk.

The war between Russia and Ukraine has had a substantial impact on oil prices and other commodity prices, as well as increased trade uncertainty. India has economic troubles due to Western countries' supply disruptions and limited trade with Russia.

War has historically been the worst mark on humanity. Although it was made by man, it is now beyond the power of any human force. To preserve humanity, the entire human species must now reflect on this. Otherwise, neither humanity nor war will survive.
