Considering the controlled gender pay gap, which measures the median salary for men and women with the same job and qualifications, women earned one U.S. cent less. By comparison, the uncontrolled gender pay gap measures the median salary for all men and all women across all sectors and industries and regardless of location and qualification. In 2023, the uncontrolled gender pay gap in the world stood at 0.83, meaning that women earned 0.83 dollars for every dollar earned by men.

The highest position of executive power has been held by a woman in just 59 countries since 1960. Since this time, 77 women have held the most powerful positions of executive power in their respective countries. Since Sirimavo Bandaranaike was first elected Prime Minister of Sri Lanka in 1960, the number of women in power has grown slowly, with the fastest growth coming in the past 15 years. At the beginning of 2023, there were 15 countries led by women, with Italy and Honduras electing their first female presidents in 2022. Despite growing numbers of women leaders in recent years, there has never been more than 17 women in these positions of power in a single year, which is less than 10% of the number of men who have held these positions (as today, there are 193 UN member states ). Records The women who have served the longest consecutive terms in these positions are Angela Merkel of Germany (16 years, 16 days), Dame Eugenia Charles of Dominica (14 years, 328 days), and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia (12 years, 6 days). The longest combined non-consecutive terms were held by Indira Gandhi of India (16 years, 15 days) and the current Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina (over 19 years in total). Just 14 countries have had more than one woman in the highest position of executive power, and most of these countries can be found either in the Indian sub-continent or in Europe. Of these 14, Finland, Moldova, New Zealand, and the UK are the only countries to have had three female leaders (but all are currently headed by men), although the unique federal system of Switzerland has had five women serve in eight annual-terms as President of the Swiss Confederation. The first woman Prime Minister The first democratically elected female Prime Minister was Sirimavo Bandaranaike of Sri Lanka , who took over the leadership of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party when her husband was assassinated in 1959. Bandaranaike successfully led her party to victory in three elections, in 1960, 1970 and 1994, however constitutional changes in the 1980s meant that her final term as Prime Minister was spent in a more ceremonial role, while the President now held the real executive power (although the President at this time was also a woman; Bandaranaike's daughter, Chandrika Kumaratunga).

Differing fasting times in different places result from the fact that the length of each day varies based on the latitude of each location and changes each day due to the Earth's orbit around the sun. However, there might be slight interpretational differences between different schools of thought and branches of Islam. The first-generation PlayStation console was released in Japan in December 1994, and worldwide the following year. Since then, Sony has released a further four generations of video game consoles - PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 , and the latest PlayStation 5 which was released in November 2020. Sony has also released two handheld video game consoles: the PlayStation Portable and the PlayStation Vita. Nintendo console history Nintendo registers three devices in the top five for all-time sales of video game consoles. Nintendo released its first series of home consoles in 1977 with the Color TV-Game. In 1983, the company released the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) , a console that has recorded close to 62 million lifetime sales globally. In February 2024, the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in China resided at about 49.1 percent. An indicator of the economic health of the manufacturing sector, the PMI is based on five major indicators: new orders, inventory levels, production, supplier deliveries, and the employment environment. An index value above 50 percent indicates a positive development in the industrial sector, whereas a value below 50 percent indicates a negative situation. The PMI as a major economic indicator The Purchasing Managers' Index was first introduced by the US-based Institute of Supply Management in 1948. It has become one of the most widely used and closely watched indicators of business activities worldwide. The PMI is not only an apt indicator for manufacturing growth, it also supports interest rate decisions of central bank institutions. PMI figures around the globe were dominated by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In the Euro area, the PMI recovered from a considerable drop in April 2020 , regaining pre-crisis level in June. In the United States, the monthly PMI indicated an even better improvement from low values in April and March. The non-manufacturing PMI in China displayed a similar development.

On December 21, it was announced that PSD, CDS and the People's Monarchist Party (PPM) would run in coalition under the name Democratic Alliance (AD). This coalition gathered 20.8 percent of vote intention in January 2024, while PS continued ahead, with 26.4 percent. In February, AD took the lead, gathering 24 percent of voting intention, while PS was left at the 22 percent benchmark. However, AD and PS took turns as the party with the highest voting intention during this month, which ended with AD again in the lead. March began with the socialists ahead, with 33 percent of voting intention, but closely followed by the Democratic Alliance, which stood at 30 percent.
