Save the date! MotoGP™ Team Presentations are coming

Make sure you don't miss the unveilings of the 2023 bikes from each team by checking out the schedule

The 2023 MotoGP™ season is almost underway, with an eagerly anticipated date in Portimao setting the scene for the opening round of the campaign later in March. Before then though we have the small matter of the Team Presentations to take care of, where new-look line ups and their bike liveries will be unveiled.

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™– January 17th

We don’t have to wait long to see what 2021 World Champion Fabio Quartararo and 2020 runner up Franco Morbidelli’s M1 will look like, with the Iwata factory the first side to reveal their plans and machine for the upcoming campaign.

Gresini Racing MotoGP™ - January 21st

Just a few short days later, we will get a first glimpse of Alex Marquez in Gresini’s 2023 colours as he prepares for his first premier class adventure away from Honda bikes. The former LCR rider will partner Fabio Di Giannantonio in the Ducati satellite team.

Ducati Lenovo Factory Team – January 23rd

Having delivered a first World Championship in 15 years to the Bologna bullets as they completed the 2022 triple crown, Francesco Bagnaia will once again lead the team’s charge for glory. However, there is one major shake up in the side, with Enea Bastianini, who came third last season and proved a worthy adversary to Pecco, now partnering the Italian in the factory team and with his own title ambitions. Ducati will launch GP23 in the beautiful surrounds of the Dolomite mountains in Italy.

Prima Pramac Racing – January 25th

Two days later, the other two GP23s on the grid will be revealed as Jorge Martin and Johann Zarco prepare for a third season together as teammates.

KTM Factory Racing – January 26th

Rounding out the opening month of the year’s Presentations are KTM, where Jack Miller and Brad Binder show off their RC-16s.

Repsol Honda Team – February 23 rd

For the first time since 2019, two premier class Champions will be teammates as Joan Mir joins Marc Marquez on the factory Honda. Incidentally, Honda also saw the last pairing of Championship winning teammates, when Jorge Lorenzo and Marquez joined forces, and the Japanese marque will be hoping that it can prove the winning formula as theyplot a route back to the top of the MotoGP™ world.

Tech3 GASGAS Factory Racing – March 4th

One of two new teams entering the fray in 2023, GASGAS welcome Pol Espargaro back to the RC16 and hand rookie Augusto Fernandez a chance in the premier class.

Aprilia Racing – March 10th

Having made huge strides in recent seasons, the Noale factory come into 2023 as elite contenders after a breakthrough year that saw them claim multiple podiums and a first-ever MotoGP™ victory. Having fallen just short last season, Aleix Espargaro will be hoping to go one further and claim a top three Championship finish if not the title itself, while Maverick Viñales has already proven that he is a force to be reckoned with aboard the RS-GP.

RNF MotoGP™ Team – March 16th

The other new team joining MotoGP™ for 2023, and Aprilia’s first-ever satellite side, sees Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez make up a formidable outfit with the ability to pull off a shock or two.

LCR Honda – TBC

As of yet, we don’t know when Honda’s satellite team will unveil their machines for the upcoming campaign as Takaaki Nakagami will be joined by ex-Suzuki rider Alex Rins under Lucio Cecchinello’s charge.

Mooney VR46 Racing Team – TBC

We are also still awaiting confirmation for the final pair of Ducatis on the grid, with Rookie of the Year Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini hoping to build on last season’s extremely promising campaign.

TEAM GRESINI MOTOGP, 2023 VERSION

2022 is not an easy year to forget, and there is only one thing that can be done to further raise the bar – to methodically prepare the new season: 2023 starts today with the presentation of the renewed MotoGP team. The novelties are quite a few, starting from the 2022-spec Desmosedici machine with new colours: more of the iconic Ducati red with a modern touch combined with a glossy light blue (slightly pearly) to give even more power to an already beautiful and winning bike.

The arrival of Alex Marquéz is surely the biggest news. The Spanish rider will be aided by Donatello Giovanotti (track engineer) and Andrea Mattioli (data engineer) while inheriting the rest of the team that last year celebrated four wins alongside Bastianini.

On the other side of the pit-box, Fabio Di Giannantonio has one important piece of news as (former Suzuki) Frankie Carchedi joins in as crew chief. The feeling in the recent Valencia test was already quite interesting and it will only be a matter of time to see the whole team in action in February’s official test at Sepang, which will officially open the new season.

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #49

“We start 2023 with a pinch more of red, which stands for determination, passion, fire… I’m eager to continue growing and do well. We want to take this new season race by race, with the awareness that this is the right time: the top ten should be the regular occurrence, while top five a realistic goal. The team is charged up and I trained 300% hard for this year – we’re ready!”

ALEX MARQUEZ #73

“Today is a really special day: to see this team so tight together and ready is a thing that brings great emotions. To be here at this presentation is a very special thing. To see so much eagerness and excitement within the team and the people that came see us is something I really like. Now the work starts, for a preseason that hopefully with enable us to be 100% ready for the first race at Portimão. The goal is to have a great start to the season because it will set the pace for the rest of 2023. We have the tools and the will to do well; it won’t be easy, obviously, but the right approach helps a lot in these scenarios.”

NADIA PADOVANI – TEAM OWNER

“We’re very excited for this new adventure. 2022 was incredible in every way, but the idea is to continue to improve and surprise. We’re a young team with great ambition: Fabio will have the chance to showcase all his potential in his sophomore year and Alex is eager to take the stage back… we will do our best to make sure both can succeed. Today is almost a return to normal with such an important presentation and with the people joining us: a big thank you goes to the sponsors and the whole team who worked hard to be ready.”

He tenido muchos desafos en mi vida y me gusta superarlos. Repetir?

Bautista tena otras razones.

MotoGP and Superbike 2023: Ducati Corse presentation live!

by Eric Martin | Jan 23, 2023

presentation ducati motogp 2023

After the Yamaha team presentations and of the Gresini team , the MotoGP season continues in the same tone with Ducati which chose to unveil its 2023 Desmosedici this morning from the Italian ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio, during a show called “Campioni in pista”.

As usual, the Borgo Panigale factory did things in a big way but, double world title in MotoGP and WorldSBK obliged, this year we will be entitled to a simultaneous presentation of the machines of the drivers who made the transalpine brand shine in both categories, Francis Bagnaia et  Alvaro Bautista , accompanied by Enea Bastianini et Michael Rinaldi .

Suspense, as to whether the two world champions will sport the #1 on their Desmosedici GP23 and Panigale V4R respectively, has fueled the column in recent days , reinforced two days ago by a leak (intentional or not) on the website of the transalpine manufacturer.

The images showing Francis Bagnaia et Alvaro Bautista were quickly removed from the site and the 2022 motorcycles on display in the streets of Madonna di Campiglio are of course adorned with the numbers 63 and 19.

MotoGP 2024: Pramac Ducati's Jorge Martin wins the French GP

-Clinches victory after an epic battle with Bagnaia

-Marc Marquez rose from P13 to P2

-Bagnaia settles for third

Jorge Martin had an amazing race weekend at the French GP in Le Mans as he clinched victory in the main race. The Prima Pramac Racing rider astride his Ducati also won the Sprint Race on Saturday and set Pole position while setting the all-time lap record at the circuit on a MotoGP bike. While he dominated the Sprint, the victory in the main race wasn’t so.

Mega Martin

As the lights went out, Ducati Factory Team’s Pecco Bagnaia pipped polesitter Martin for the lead in the Race's opening stages. Bagnaia, who had to retire from the Saturday Sprint due to issues with his bike, was keen on making the most of the Sunday Race. Bagnaia, as so often does on a Sunday, settled into a rhythm at the early stages of the Race, and kept setting a fast pace to keep the hard-charging Jorge Martin at bay.

As the race progressed, it looked like Bagnaia was going to hold on to the lead but as has been the case with Martin this year, one can never discount him. With only a few laps left, Martin made a brilliant move on the unsuspecting Bagnaia and snatched the lead. Pecco tried to regain the position but Martin was incredible on the brakes and managed to retain the position. He crossed the finish line first and understandably couldn’t contain his happiness, as he made up for lost ground after crashing in Jerez, a couple of weeks ago.

Battle of the Champions

The other highlight of the race was undoubtedly Marc Marquez’s incredible run from P13 to P2. The Spaniard made a brilliant start and quickly began overtaking the riders ahead of him at any given opportunity. In classic Marquez fashion, he made some insanely late-braking overtakes to rise up the order. Let’s not forget that the Gresini Racing rider is on a 2023 Ducati GP bike and was proving to the world what he’s made of.

His experience also came to the fore as he waited patiently in third in the closing stages of the race and watched Bagnaia and Martin duel and in turn, burn through a lot of their rear tyre. On the last lap, with Bagnaia struggling to keep up with Martin, Marquez made a late lunge on the inside of Pecco and grabbed P2. The visibly ecstatic Marquez celebrated P2 as if it were a win and going by his hunger and determination, he might just clinch a victory in this long season.

Championship heats up

Speaking of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship, the season has been nothing short of epic in its initial stages. Jorge Martin leads with 129 points in the bag. Pecco Bagnaia is second with 91 points to his name while Marc Marquez follows in third place with 89 points in his pocket. There is still a long way to go and there aren’t a lot of points separating the top five riders.

The next round of the Championship will be held from 24 May to 26 May at the Circuit De Barcelona, Catalunya in Spain.
