While you can try to contact Facebook directly via phone and email address, it's difficult, if not impossible, to get a response. Tweeting at Facebook could get a response, and you can also visit Facebook's Help Center or complete a support request form.

When you think of contacting a company for help, you likely first think of placing a call to talk to a customer service representative. Unfortunately, reaching Facebook support by phone is nearly impossible and not particularly useful in most cases.

Facebook does have a couple of numbers you can call to try getting in touch with the company. However, both phone numbers only play a pre-recorded message. You can't talk to a real human on either number.

If you want to try your luck calling them regardless, Facebook's support phone numbers are:

• +1 650-308-7300

As of August 2023, those numbers are still valid and owned by Facebook. They still, alas, simply direct you to visit meta.com/help , Facebook's online help database. As always, be cautious when calling a support number. If you should call either of these numbers in the future and instead of an automated message, there is a person very interested in getting your Facebook login data, financial data, or other personal information, assume the number is no longer used by Facebook and the person on the other end is running a scam.

Facebook doesn't encourage people to contact it via email. However, in the past, Facebook listed a few email addresses that you could use to contact Facebook directly.

You can still try sending an email to one of these email addresses and possibly get a response. There's no guarantee, though. Your chance of getting a response, however, is much higher than calling the automated phone numbers we mentioned above.

We'd encourage you only to use the email addresses for their suggested purposes. It's already difficult enough to get an email response from Facebook, and if everyone spams their inquiries across multiple Facebook inboxes, it just creates more noise on the communication channel for people with legitimate abuse reports, intellectual property queries, or other issues.

These days, one of the ways you can contact a company is by tweeting them on Twitter, and Facebook is no exception.

You can send a tweet to one of Facebook's Twitter handles, and possibly get a response. There's no guarantee your query will be looked at, but it's worth trying if your issue doesn't need to be fixed urgently. Or, conversely, if the issue is very pressing and nobody is responding to you a social media shoutout is a time-honored way to get the attention of a large company that has otherwise been ignoring you.

Some of Facebook's official handles are @Meta , @FacebookApp , and @Messenger .

If you didn't get a response from Facebook's phone number, email, or Twitter account, use the platform's "Help & Support" menu to get help on many matters. This menu lets you access the site's Help Center, view responses to your reported items , and even allows you to report a bug or send feedback to Facebook.

An easy way to get help from Facebook is to access the platform's "Help & Support" menu. This menu contains the options to help you access Help Center, view responses to your reported items , and report a bug or send feedback to Facebook.

You can access this menu on both your desktop and your phone.

Get Help From Facebook on Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook

To get help on your desktop computer, launch your preferred web browser and open Facebook . There, sign in to your account.

After signing in, from the Facebook site's top-right corner, select your profile icon.

In the menu that opens, click "Help & Support."

The "Help & Support" menu offers multiple options to get help from Facebook. These options are:

• Help Center : This takes you to Facebook's Help Center website that contains loads of resourceful guides and explainers. You'll find answers to nearly all your queries on this site.
• Support Inbox : You'll find responses for your reported items in this section. You'll also see important messages about your account here.
• Report a Problem : To report a broken feature or give feedback on something, use this option.

When you've chosen an option, Facebook will open a dedicated page allowing you to submit your request. And that's all.

Get Facebook's Help on an iPhone, iPad, or Android Phone

To access the platform's help options on your phone, launch the Facebook app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

If you're on Android, then in the app's top-right corner, tap the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines). If you're on an iPhone or iPad, then in your screen's bottom-right corner, tap the "Menu" option.

On the "Menu" page that opens, scroll down to the bottom. Then, tap "Help & Support."

In the expanded "Help & Support" menu, select one of the following options:

• Help Center : Tap this option to access Facebook's Help Center where you'll find a guide on nearly any Facebook topic. You'll also get answers to many of your account-related problems in this Help Center.
• Support Inbox : Use this option to see the responses you've received for your reported content. Important messages regarding your account are also found here.
• Report a Problem : To send Facebook a bug report or feedback, select this option.

After tapping an option, follow the on-screen instructions to proceed further.

One more way you can contact Facebook directly is through forms. Facebook makes several forms available that you can use to submit requests or report problems with your account or someone else's. Here are some of the forms that you can use on the site:

• Photo Removal Request : To remove your own, your child, or another adult's photo from the platform, use this form.
• Account Was Disabled : If your account is disabled, use this form to request Facebook to review the account.
• Change Name : Use this form to change your first, middle, and last name in your account.
• Confirm Identity : You can confirm your identity on Facebook by submitting a valid ID card using this form.
• Medically Incapacitated or Deceased Person : To make changes to an account whose account holder can't do it because of medical reasons, use this form.
• Report Violation : To report trademark or copyright violations, utilize this form.
• Email Already in Use : If someone's using your email address in a Facebook account, report it with this form.
• Report Underage Child : If a child below the age of 13 is using Facebook, use this form to report that child's profile to Facebook.
• Child Data Request : Get the data Facebook has on your child with this form.
• Report a Page Unavailable Error : If you encounter a "Page Unavailable" error on Facebook, use this form to let Facebook know about it.

After accessing a form, fill the form and submit it. Facebook will review your request and take appropriate action or get back to you asking for more details.

A New Mexico judge has granted Mark Zuckerberg’s request to be dropped from a lawsuit that alleges his company has failed to protect young users on its social media platforms from sexual exploitation

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A New Mexico judge on Thursday granted Mark Zuckerberg’s request to be dropped from a lawsuit that alleges his company has failed to protect young users on its social media platforms from sexual exploitation.

The case is one of many filed by states, school districts and parents against Meta and its platforms over concerns about child exploitation. Beyond courtrooms around the U.S., the issue has been a topic of congressional hearings as lawmakers and parents are growing increasingly concerned about the effects of social media on young people’s lives.

In New Mexico, Attorney General Raúl Torrez sued Meta and Zuckerberg late last year following an undercover online investigation.

While granting Zuckerberg’s request, Judge Bryan Biedscheid dismissed Meta’s motion seeking to dismiss the state’s claims, marking what Torrez described as a crucial step for the case to proceed against the social media giant.

“For decades, Meta Platforms have prevented nearly every legal challenge against them from proceeding,” Torrez said in a statement. “Today, the New Mexico Department of Justice brought that era to an end and is the first case by a state attorney general to raise child sexual exploitation claims, which can now be addressed. All social media platforms that harm their users should be on notice.”

Separately, claims were levied in late October by the attorneys general of 33 states — including California and New York — that Instagram and Facebook include features deliberately designed to hook children and contribute to a youth mental health crisis.

As for Zuckerberg, Biedscheid said he wasn’t persuaded by the state’s arguments that the executive should remain a party to the New Mexico lawsuit, but he noted that could change depending on what evidence is presented as the case against Meta proceeds.

Torrez’s office said it will continue to assess whether Zuckerberg should be named individually in the future.

Attorneys for Meta had argued during the hearing that prosecutors would not be able to establish that the company had specifically directed its activities to New Mexico residents, meaning there would be personal jurisdiction for which the company could be held liable. They said the platforms are available worldwide and that users agree to the terms of service when signing up.

Prosecutors told the judge that New Mexico is not seeking to hold Meta accountable for its content but rather its role in pushing out that content through complex algorithms that proliferate material that can be sensational, addictive and harmful.

The design features and how people interact with them are the issue, said Serena Wheaton, an assistant attorney general in the consumer protection division.

Earlier this month, Torrez announced charges against three men who were accused of using Meta’s social media platforms to target and solicit sex with children. The arrests were the result of a monthslong undercover operation in which the suspects connected with decoy accounts set up by the state Department of Justice.

That investigation began in December around the time the state filed its lawsuit against the company.

At the time of the arrests, Torrez placed blame on Meta executives — including Zuckerberg — and suggested that the company was putting profits above the interests of parents and children.

Meta has disputed those allegations, saying it uses technology to prevent suspicious adults from finding or interacting with children and teens on its apps and that it works with law enforcement in investigating and prosecuting offenders.

As part of New Mexico’s lawsuit, prosecutors say they have uncovered internal documents in which Meta employees estimate about 100,000 children every day are subjected to sexual harassment on the company’s platforms.

Why you should buy the dip in stocks before next week's jobs report, Fundstrat says

• Investors should buy stocks ahead of next week's May jobs report, according to Fundstrat's Tom Lee.
• Lee said the April Core PCE data showed cooling inflation and prior releases have been a tailwind for stock prices.
• "We see high probability that stocks perform well into next week's May jobs report," Lee said.

Investors should buy the dip in stocks ahead of next week's release of the May jobs report, according to a Friday note from Fundstrat's Tom Lee.

The S&P 500 , Nasdaq 100 , and Dow Jones Industrial Average are down 3%, 4%, and 5% from their recent record highs, respectively.

Lee said the slight decline in stocks over the past week presents investors with an attractive entry point, especially after the release of April Core PCE data, which showed a cooldown in inflation, and ahead of the jobs report.

April Core PCE was in-line with economist estimates at 0.25% month-over-month, which helped relieve investor fears following a string of hot inflation reports earlier this year.

"This is the best core PCE MoM for all of 2024 and supportive of the notion that inflation pressures are ebbing," Lee said.

And Lee thinks future PCE reports will continue to show disinflation, which should boost the chances of Fed interest rate cuts later this year and support higher stock prices.

"We believe these improvements are sustainable. Housing is decelerating at a steady pace and converging on the market-based measures, which are not showing +6% YoY growth rates," Lee said. "Core PCE ex-housing grew +0.22% MoM, down from +0.31% MoM in March. And the YoY has been dripping lower to 2.15% vs 2.19% YoY in March. So, outside of housing, PCE inflation is on target."

Lee crunched the numbers and highlighted that since the end of 2022, stocks generally performed well following releases of the monthly Core PCE reports, especially when stocks were down 1% in the five days before the release.

Of the four PCE reports since the end of 2022 that included stocks falling 1% heading into the report, stocks were higher every time a week after the release of the PCE report by an average of 2.3%.

"Thus, we see high probability that stocks perform well into next week's May jobs report," Lee said.

The May jobs report will be released on Friday, June 7. Current economist estimates expect 175,000 jobs were added to the economy in May, with an unemployment rate stuck at 3.9%. Such a report would match the April jobs report and likely put some pressure on the Fed to cut interest rates sooner than later.

The US Navy botched the design of its new $1 billion frigates: report

• The US Navy's guided-missile-frigate project faces delays because of a flawed design, a report has found.
• Construction for the $22 billion project started before the design was completed, causing issues.
• The Government Accountability Office has recommended prioritizing design quality and testing on land.

A congressional report published Wednesday has found that the US Navy's designs for its guided-missile-frigate project are flawed, stalling construction and delaying the delivery of the first frigate.

"The Navy had good reason to be optimistic that the frigate program was positioned to deliver capabilities on the schedule it promised," the report says. "Subsequent missteps, however, have jeopardized the Navy's ability to achieve these goals."

In order to accomplish its ambitious goal of acquiring and delivering up to 20 Constellation - class guided-missile frigates over the course of 20 years — an endeavor projected to cost more than $22 billion — the US Navy began building the first frigate before its design was complete. But that was a big mistake, a congressional watchdog found.

The US Government Accountability Office reported that this misstep resulted in design challenges that paused construction on the first ship, which began in August 2022, and would cause the frigate to be delivered to the service three years late .

"To reduce technical risk, the Navy and its shipbuilder modified an existing design to incorporate Navy specifications and weapon systems," the report says. "However, the Navy's decision to begin construction before the design was complete is inconsistent with leading ship design practices and jeopardized this approach."

In addition to scheduling delays and the halting of ship construction, the Navy has yet to demonstrate frigate propulsion and machinery control systems.

But the report suggests that scheduling delays coupled with changes made to the frigate testing process may allow the Navy to test these two unproven systems on land. By doing this testing, there may be fewer problems once the ship is at sea.

The future frigate was designed to be a multi-mission workhorse that carries air defense and strike missiles, as well as torpedoes to attack submarines. It's being built by Fincantieri Marinette Marine in Wisconsin.

A US Navy spokesperson said Thursday that the service added engineers to complete the frigate design sooner and will review ways to improve the workforce that builds warships.

"The Navy recognizes the importance of a mature and stable design prior to construction start and the Frigate program challenges associated with delays in design completion," Lt. Cmdr. Javan Rasnake told Business Insider. "The Navy has established a collaboration site at the Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard and surged both Navy and contracted engineering design personnel to accelerate Frigate design maturity and support ramp up of production."

GAO makes five recommendations in its report, including that the Navy prioritize measuring the quality of ship designs over the quantity of design deliverables. It also recommends that the Navy complete and assess the design before moving on to building the second frigate.

The Navy agreed to accept four of the recommendations and one of them partially, which involved updating testing.

The jury in Donald Trump’s New York hush money trial finished its first day of deliberations Wednesday without reaching a verdict after meeting for more than four-and-a-half hours.

Jurors will return on Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. ET to resume deliberations.

Wednesday afternoon, the jury asked to hear a readback of four separate parts of witness testimony, including from former National Enquirer chief David Pecker and Trump’s former fixer Michael Cohen.

Here are the pieces of testimony the jury requested:

• Pecker’s testimony about his phone conversation with Trump in June 2016
• Pecker's testimony about not finalizing Trump’s payment to AMI for Karen McDougal’s life rights
• Pecker's testimony about the August 2015 Trump Tower meeting
• Cohen’s testimony about the Trump Tower meeting

Jurors also want to re-hear Judge Juan Merchan’s instructions on the law that he had given them earlier Wednesday morning.

Here are the key things to know about those instructions:

• Merchan  spent an hour instructing the jury on the law before it started deliberations.
• He explained the 34 felony counts against Trump for falsifying business records over the reimbursement to Cohen for hush money payment to Stormy Daniels and went over the elements of the crime that jurors must decide prosecutors have proven beyond a reasonable doubt to return a guilty verdict.
• Merchan also reminded jurors they must put aside their biases as they decide the defendant’s fate. “Remember, you have promised to be a fair juror,” the judge said.

Fact Check: Trump’s false claim that the judge isn’t requiring a unanimous verdict

Former President Donald Trump falsely claimed Wednesday that Judge Juan Merchan “is not requiring a unanimous decision on the fake charges against me.”

Trump made the claim in a  social media post  in which he described Merchan’s supposed position as “RIDICULOUS, UNCONSTITUTIONAL, AND UNAMERICAN.” He was echoing assertions that had been  circulating among conservatives  after Fox News anchor John Roberts  wrote  on social media earlier on Wednesday that “Judge Merchan just told the jury that they do not need unanimity to convict.” 

Facts First :  Trump’s claim inaccurately depicts what Merchan said.

Merchan  told the jury in his instructions on Wednesday  that their verdict “must be unanimous” on each of the 34 counts that Trump faces and that, to convict Trump of felony falsification of business records, they would have to unanimously agree that he falsified business records with the intent to commit, aid or conceal another crime — that other crime being a violation of a New York election law. But Merchan explained that while  this New York election law  prohibits people from conspiring to use “unlawful means” to promote a candidate’s election, jurors don’t have to unanimously agree on which particular “unlawful means” Trump may have used; they can find him guilty as long as they unanimously agree that Trump used some unlawful means.   

Prosecutors provided three theories of what unlawful means Trump used. Merchan told the jury: “Although you must conclude unanimously that the defendant conspired to promote or prevent the election of any person to a public office by unlawful means, you need not be unanimous as to what those unlawful means were. In determining whether the defendant conspired to promote or prevent the election of any person to a public office by unlawful means, you may consider the following: (1) violations of the Federal Election Campaign Act otherwise known as FECA; (2) the falsification of other business records; or (3) violation of tax laws.”

Trump legal team requests expedited schedule for his gag order appeal

Donald Trump's legal team is requesting an expedited briefing schedule for his gag order appeal at the Court of Appeals, according to Gary Spencer, a public information officer for the court.

This is regarding the same preliminary appeal statement the court received last week. It has not decided whether it will actually hear the appeal or not.

“President Trump has filed a request with the New York Court of Appeals seeking expedited review of the unconstitutional Gag Order imposed by Justice (Juan) Merchan," Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement Wednesday. "The Gag Order wrongfully silences the leading candidate for President of the United States, President Trump, at the height of his campaign while he holds a commanding lead in the polls.'

Separately, Spencer said the Court of Appeals has given both sides until June 5 to file written arguments about whether or not Trump has an automatic right to appeal, which he has claimed.

After those written arguments are submitted, the court will decide if it will hear the appeal — which could take weeks, Spencer said.

Trump has continued to rail against the gag order throughout the hush money trial. He has been  charged several thousand dollars in fines   for multiple violations and  made several false statements  about its restrictions.
