Extreme Sports Essay

Extreme sports are becoming increasingly popular all over the world. While some people see them as dangerous and reckless, others see them as exciting and adrenaline-pumping.

There are many different extreme sports to choose from, such as Bungee jumping, sky diving, snowboarding, and surfing. Extreme sports often require a lot of skill and training, which can be part of the appeal for some people.

For others, the appeal of extreme sports is simply the thrill of doing something that is considered dangerous. Extreme sports can be a great way to get an adrenaline rush and feel alive.

No matter what the reason is for their popularity, extreme sports are here to stay. They provide an opportunity for people to push themselves to the limit and experience something truly exhilarating.

People are extremely attracted to relatively new sports, like extreme sports, because they offer an adrenalin rush and allow for self-expression in new ways .

Extreme sports are usually associated with young people, but there are more and more adult fans of these activities. Extreme sports provide an opportunity to forget about the daily routine and immerse oneself in the moment. Also, many people find it attractive that extreme sports require a high level of skill and athleticism.

There are different types of extreme sports, from relatively safe ones like bungee jumping to dangerous ones like base jumping. Some people prefer solo sports, while others enjoy team sports. Extreme sports can be performed in different natural environments – on land, in water or in the air.

The most popular extreme sports include BMX, freestyle motocross, skateboarding, surfing, cliff diving, free solo climbing, parkour, base jumping, and wingsuit flying. Extreme sports have become so popular that there are now professional athletes who compete in Extreme Games and X Games – special events where only the most skilled athletes can participate.

The popularity of extreme sports is likely to continue to grow in the future as more and more people are looking for new ways to challenge themselves and experience thrills.

It’s no secret that we humans are suckers for new experiences. This is especially true when it comes to sports. With the recent media push to get kids active, participation in extreme sports has seen a dramatic increase. People are now indulging in activities like skydiving, mountain biking, and rock climbing more than ever before.

Extreme sports require special equipment, which sometimes is very expensive, but it does not prevent young people from indulging in these activities. Extreme sports are considered to be more dangerous than traditional ones, but this fact only adds to the popularity of these activities.

There are several reasons for the popularity of extreme sports. First of all, they are accessible to everyone. You do not need to be a professional athlete to try them. Secondly, they are very exciting and can give you a real adrenaline rush. Thirdly, they help you push your limits and test your boundaries. And last but not least, they allow you to meet new people and make new friends.

People are bored with traditional sports like basketball, soccer, and football. Martial arts have become too generic. It’s in human nature to want to stand out, and extreme sports are a good way to do it. I believe that people think your activities are linked directly to your personality: if you’re boring, you do dull things; controversial or unusual activities mean you have a great personality and positive outlook.

Extreme sports are a great way to show off your personality. They’re also a great conversation starter. When you meet someone new, instead of asking them what they do for a living, you can ask them about their favorite extreme sport. It’s a great way to get to know someone quickly.

Extreme sports are also popular because they’re dangerous. I’m not talking about the kind of danger that comes with playing football or hockey, where you might get a concussion or break a bone. I’m talking about the kind of danger that comes with doing something that could kill you if you’re not careful. People are drawn to this kind of danger because it’s exciting and makes them feel alive.

So why are extreme sports so popular? I believe it’s because they’re a great way to show off your personality, they’re a great conversation starter, and they’re dangerous. If you’re looking for a new way to show off your personality, or if you’re just looking for something new to do, consider trying an extreme sport.

It’s easy to feel stuck in the same routine day-after-day when we’re dealing with work, school, and other predicaments. Sometimes our lives can feel quite lackluster when we’re constantly seeing the same people and thing. To have a more active lifestyle, try spending more time outside surrounded by nature.

Extreme sports are a great way to do this. Extreme sports are becoming increasingly popular all over the world, especially among young people. These activities give us a chance to break free from our everyday routines and push ourselves physically and mentally. They’re also super exciting and can be quite addicting.

There are many different extreme sports to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. Some popular ones include rock climbing, surfing, BASE jumping, and skydiving. If you’re looking for a new challenge, why not give one of these a try? You might just find your new favorite hobby.

Such living undoubtedly causes us stress, fatigue, and a lack of peace of mind. I spend half my day at university lectures and now I feel like a tightly wound spring about to snap. In other words, many people including myself need an adrenaline rush that dangerous sports can provide.

Extreme sports are popular because they give people an adrenaline rush. They are a way to release stress and tension. They are also a way to feel alive. Extreme sports are not for everyone but for those who enjoy them, they can be a great way to relax and have fun.

In recent years, extreme sports have become increasingly popular among people of all ages. People are drawn to the thrill and adrenaline rush that comes with participating in these risky activities. From jumping out of airplanes to riding huge waves, these dangerous sports offer a unique set of challenges and opportunities for those willing to try them out.

extreme sports essay example

Despite the obvious risk associated with extreme sports, there are still many people who participate in such activities. Some are driven by a need for adventure or a desire to test their physical capabilities. Others simply enjoy the sense of accomplishment they gain after mastering their chosen activity. Many cite the feeling of freedom and joy that accompanies extreme sports as something that cannot be found elsewhere.

To reduce risks associated with extreme sports, it is important for participants to first receive proper training and instruction from certified professionals. This will help ensure that they understand how to stay safe while engaging in such activities. It is also essential for participants to wear appropriate safety gear, such as helmets and protective clothing, when participating in any kind of sport. Finally, extreme athletes should always make sure they are aware of their abilities and limitations before taking part in any kind of dangerous activity, so they don’t overextend themselves or put themselves in danger unnecessarily.

Overall, while extreme sports can be extremely dangerous, they can also be a source of immense joy and satisfaction. Participating in such activities does not necessarily mean that individuals are putting themselves in peril, if all the essential safety precautions are taken. With proper training, equipment, education and awareness of one’s own limitations, anyone can enjoy these kinds of daring pursuits, knowing that the risks are properly managed.

Essay on Extreme Sports

Students are often asked to write an essay on Extreme Sports in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on Extreme Sports

What are extreme sports.

Extreme sports are activities that give a thrill. They often involve speed, height, or physical effort. Examples are skateboarding, skydiving, and mountain biking. People enjoy these sports because they are exciting and challenging.

Why People Like Them

Many like extreme sports for the rush they feel. It’s a way to test limits and face fears. These sports can also build confidence and give a sense of adventure.

Risks Involved

These sports can be dangerous. Injuries might happen, and safety is very important. Wearing helmets and other protective gear is a must.

Learning Extreme Sports

To start, learn from a pro and practice a lot. Start slow and know your limits. With time, skills will improve and so will safety.

250 Words Essay on Extreme Sports

Extreme sports are activities that give a rush of excitement and danger. They are not like usual games such as soccer or basketball. Instead, they include things like skydiving, rock climbing, and surfing big waves. People who enjoy these sports love the thrill and challenge that come with them.

Many like extreme sports because they are thrilling. When someone jumps from a plane or rides a wave, they feel alive and full of energy. These sports also help people to overcome their fears and to feel strong.

These sports can be risky. A small mistake can lead to injury or even worse. That is why it is important to train well and use the right safety gear. People who do these sports must be careful and know what they are doing.

Learning and Safety

To be safe, one must learn from a good teacher and practice a lot. Using helmets, ropes, and other safety items is a must. It is also smart to do these sports with friends so that someone can help if there is trouble.

Extreme sports are not for everyone. They are for those who enjoy being on the edge and are ready to take on risks for the sake of fun and adventure. With the right training and care, these sports can be enjoyed safely and give a sense of pride and joy.

500 Words Essay on Extreme Sports

Extreme sports are thrilling activities that give a rush of excitement to those who try them. These sports are not like regular games such as soccer or basketball. They often involve a higher level of danger and are more adventurous. Some examples include skydiving, mountain biking, rock climbing, and surfing big waves. People who enjoy extreme sports are usually looking for a special kind of excitement that they cannot find in everyday sports.

Why People Like Extreme Sports

People are drawn to extreme sports for many reasons. One big reason is the feeling they get from doing something that is a bit scary but also very exciting. This feeling is often called an adrenaline rush. When someone is high up on a rock face or about to jump out of an airplane, their body releases adrenaline. This makes their heart beat faster and can make them feel more alive.

Another reason people like these sports is because they can be a way to challenge themselves. They test their strength, bravery, and skill. Overcoming a tough rock climb or learning to do a new trick on a skateboard can make someone feel very proud.

The Risks of Extreme Sports

Extreme sports come with more risks than regular sports. Since they can be dangerous, it is important for those who take part in them to know what they are doing. They must train and use the right safety gear. For example, a helmet is a must when mountain biking, and a parachute is necessary for skydiving. By being careful and prepared, many of the risks can be lessened but not completely removed.

It is also important for people to know their limits. Trying something too hard or too risky can lead to accidents. This is why learning from a good teacher and practicing a lot is very important in extreme sports.

Extreme Sports and Teamwork

Some extreme sports are done alone, but many require teamwork. In rock climbing, for example, climbers rely on each other to stay safe. One person climbs while the other manages the rope that can catch them if they fall. This teamwork helps build trust and friendship between people.

Extreme Sports and Nature

Many extreme sports take place outdoors in nature. This gives people a chance to enjoy beautiful places while doing the sport they love. Surfers catch waves at beautiful beaches, and mountain bikers ride through forests and over hills. Being in nature can make the experience of extreme sports even more special.

Extreme sports are not for everyone. They can be dangerous and scary. But for those who enjoy them, they offer a chance to feel excited, to challenge themselves, and to experience the beauty of nature. It is important for anyone interested in these sports to learn about them, practice, and always remember to be safe. By doing this, they can enjoy the thrill of extreme sports while keeping the risks as low as possible.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

Sample Essay

It is a common belief that we should strictly prohibit  extreme sports due to the huge number of risks involved. In this essay, I am going to demonstrate that risk factors are present in all sports before suggesting that people should have the right to play any sports they want.

Advocates of banning certain sports may argue that their inherently dangerous nature may threaten lives. As extreme conditions are a prerequisite for these sports, risks like equipment failure render players more vulnerable than in other sports. For example, skydivers who freefall from enormous altitudes seem more prone to injuries or even death than players of ordinary sports. It not only imperils the lives of the people undergoing the severities post such injuries or mishappenings but also curbs one’s harmony as at times, the players may be rendered distraught and traumatized for life. This, as they say, is a clear lack of prudence and safety measures for the people participating in such sports.

In contrast, I believe that people should have the autonomy to play any sports they want, regardless of their danger. This is because they can already decide for themselves whether to take part in several dangerous non-sport activities. For example, those who reach the legal drinking age are free to purchase alcohol, the excessive consumption of which may have fatal consequences . If personal freedom is championed with regard to things like alcohol, one can argue that it should be extended to sporting pursuits as well. Instead of an outright ban on extreme sports, I believe there are ways to mitigate the risks attached to  them. Sports associations could impose an age limit for extreme athletes to ensure only people who are fully developed physically are allowed to participate. Another solution is to bar players from practising or competing without the necessary protective gear. These measures would strike a happy medium without intruding on people’s personal freedom.

In conclusion, I believe people a re entitled to play dangerous sports if they want, and certain restrictions in lieu of a ban would help ease the safety concerns.

The media commonly provides a barrage of news about dangerous sports as the deaths and injuries associated with them often make for spectacular headlines . As a result, some people have argued that all extreme sports should be banned, although I would argue that such a policy would be out of all proportion to the real risks involved.

Those in favour of prohibiting people from taking part in dangerous sports tend to focus on the risk element. Even when individuals may be physically and mentally prepared to participate in extreme sports activities, and even when they have all the right gear, the dangers are potentially existing . To take an example, some sports are challenging and fraught with danger as BASE jumping. Participants hurl themselves off cliffs, and few escape without suffering severe bruising or acute abdominal pains, which normally last for several days. In addition, although sports equipment rarely malfunctions, this may still happen and the consequences may be fatal. The supporters of legislation to ban dangerous sports argue that such tragic outcomes not only affect the individual victims, but also leave mental scars that their families then have to live with for the rest of their lives.

However, I support the view of those who contend that participation in extreme sports must be a matter of personal choice. Firstly, overcoming physical challenges may be a springboard for positive personal transformation. It may make a person stronger and more determined, and the experience may be a life-changing one. Secondly, the rigours of preparation in order to go mountain-climbing, white-water rafting or other such extremely strenuous activities demand that an individual is in the peak of health and physical condition. Finally, there is an ethical aspect that dictates that a person should have the freedom to pursue the challenges which they set themselves, even though this may involve a level of risk which others might find unacceptable.

In conclusion, while acknowledging the real risks, I would defend the right of any individual to take part in the extreme sport of their choice.

Some people think that governments should ban dangerous sports, while others think people should have freedom to do any sports or activity. Discuss both views and give your own opinion

Some people believe that goverment should ban dangerous sports, while other agrue that everyone should have freedom to practice any sports or activity. In this essay i am going to discuss why people want goverment to ban this sport and also why other people argue against this opinion.

Firstly, people want goverment to ban dangerous sports because some sports like wrestling, kick boxing and many other can cause a permanent physical as well as mental injury to person who is participating in the activity. For example recently in kick boxing tournament one of the player got hit on the back of the neck and was paralyzed and it took about 2 year for him to recover from that, even after 2 years he is not fully recovered and won’t be able to practice the sport anymore. Another reason is that this sports are broadcasted worldwide so young ones who are watching this shows, amy get influenced in a negative way and possibly adapt a violent nature.

Moving forward, To the people who argue that this sport should not be ban and everyone should have freedom to choose activity of their choice. One of the major reason this sports are encouraged is the betting market. where people put money on the winning horse, let’s take example to understand this better. Now if there is a fight between person A and B, than people will put money on them on the basis of winning probablity .

In conclusion, I believe that yes everyone has a right to choose sport they want to play but goverment should put certain restrictions and established strict regulations. S o life of person practicing that sport is not in danger and parents should also monitor what kind of media content their children’s are consuming to prevent negative impact on them.

While some people endorse the idea that highly risky sports should be prohibited by the government, I disagree with this position and support the opposite party that praises freedom over security.

Proponents of banning dangerous sporty activities might state that this would significantly affect the well-being of our society and environment. Firstly, their approach would protect the sportspeople from injuries and — in the worst case — death. Secondly, bypassers would be protected, especially when it comes to forms of sport that are performed in a public area and pose a constant risk for people staying there. Lastly, forbidding dangerous sports that take place in nature, like rock climbing, could help to reduce damages on flora and fauna.

Whereas these alleged outcomes sound promising at first sight, no prove can be furnished that illegalizing these sports would actually lead to people ceasing them. It is more probable, that they would continue practicing their hobby furtively. This will not lessen but increase the danger of their activities due to the lack of proper supervision. Furthermore, this question bears an ethical aspect, since we live in a highly individualized society, where personal freedom is a much valued moral concept. Therefore, implementing the suggested restraint would contradict our modern ideals. For these reasons suppressing specific sports completely is not an option, but it should be considered to set stricter regulations to them, comparable to the laws on the acquisition and use of weapons. Conceivable restrictions may be a specific training or license compulsory for exercising in this field.

To conclude, even if there are arguments for a comprehensive interdiction of sports which are highly risky, they can not outweigh the disadvantages. Instead of banning these sports it would be more effective to impose some conditions on their practice.

Extreme sport influence

Extreme sport is a kind of sport that is associated with high risk, peril or danger. This type of sport started to emerge relatively not long time ago. Before, humankind did not have such industrial and technological progress as we do nowadays; humans had to procure food and shelter constantly in their everyday life. It was all about danger and tension that embodied in the form of wild animals, natural disasters or other perilous things that surrounded humans. Nowadays, however, the world became much safer in the terms of nature. People can control many things yet sometimes it is difficult to control the desire of getting strong emotions such as adrenaline. Adrenaline is a primary adrenal medulla hormone and a neurotransmitter. Each person has their own habits, style of life a comfortable zone where they feel safe. For some people, nevertheless, it is essential to feel this hormone as it makes them feel vivid and thus, many of them are keen on extreme.

Emotions and behaviors, associated with extreme sports

Extreme sport is an inducement of body and soul to throw as much adrenaline and emotion as possible. Extreme is a state of being "on the edge", it is a splash of positive and negative emotions that gives awareness of self-greatness and self-impotence at the same time. Some people cannot live without these emotions; therefore, they resort to the extreme sport and lead an active style of life. Therefore, there are also some people for whom extreme sport is an ability to maintain an elevated sense of life on the constant basis. The main characteristics of people who fond of the extreme sport are courage, stamina, power and, sometimes, recklessness. Despite the abundance of injuries, people addicted to adrenaline cannot forsake their style of life. Some modern kind of sports that started to be promoted in the 50s of the previous century gradually became commonly called "extreme". They are bicycle motocross, skateboarding, and snowboarding, parachuting, rock climbing. One would not be far from the truth to say that extreme sports are born every day. All of them are characterized by “a high degree of danger to life and health, a large number of acrobatic stunts, high levels of adrenaline” (“The most extreme kinds of sports”). Extreme sports can be divided into three main categories: air, land and water and also they differ by seasons: summer and winter. Among the most popular extreme sports nowadays are parachuting, canoeing, ice and rock climbing, jet skies, parkour, paragliding, diving etc. More and more divisions of extreme sports are emerging in our society with the rapid technological development and equipment that allows humankind reach the speed of cheetah without a usage of mechanic vehicles, conquer the highest summit and the deepest bottoms of our planet and soar in the sky without a plane.

The hidden role of extreme sports

There is a fine line between athletes and extreme athletes. For athletes, the sport is a mean of tension on their bodies and mind to the great length of physical limit for fit maintain and health. For extreme athletes, it is all about pushing their bodies and mind to the farthest possible limit of their ability and risking their lives at the same time. Adrenaline is like addictions: once received it in the bloodstream, a person wants to get it once more. It gives a sense of excitement and joy. Adrenaline is released into the blood in the moments when a person senses danger or fear. At this point the work of the heart increases, blood pressure increases, pupils dilate. In this state, a person can stay, usually a few minutes, followed by a decline to a new force sensation of fear (Forleo 174).

Complexities and overlooked rules

In extreme sport, there are also some complexities that often overlooked by athletes. In most cases, it is a simple rule of safety: using a full set of equipment is always required, in particular, a reliable protective equipment. Moreover, it is essential to have a required calisthenics for some kind of extreme sports. One of the famous examples of people whose live is passing in constant danger is Michael Schumacher: being a passionate race driver, who holds many driver records and won championship and races, Schumacher has not had any serious incidence during his racing performance but who, however, in December 2013, fell down during skiing while crossing an unsecured area on the speed (Williams). Wearing a helmet was a decisive point in Schumacher’s life; without it, he would surely have been dead by now. This case shows us that even an experienced skier can have an incident and the safety procedures cannot be neglected. Yet there are some other assumptions regarding the helmet damaged so badly. Despite the fact that Schumacher had new skis, “his bindings have been subsequently tested and were not at fault; he was fully in control of his movements as he left the marked pistes and traversed the patch of snow in-between two groomed runs in Meribel” (Williams). Investigators believed that was a camera’s fault attached to Schumacher’s helmet that made it shatter into pieces. Extreme is a dangerous hobby and still, it is a question why so many people are keen on extreme sports. One of the main reason why people enjoy these sports is that they are generally practiced in the free or uncontrolled environments, such as skydiving, base-jumping or parkour. This means that while traditional athletes carry out their activities in a particular environment, such as gyms, courts, and fields, extreme athletes involved and show their skills in a free environment. For this reason, it is crucial for success to understand the issues and the laws of physics. Control and physics are the main traits of the extreme sport’s concept. The second is excitement and boundaries overcoming. The excitement at the upcoming extreme sports is the most powerful feature. Athletes are fully open to the mercy of immediate danger. The challenge is all about how to maintain self-control and to apply the necessary skills, while in the extreme position. For this same reason, extreme sports are widely condemned. Many people do not recognize the sport where others put themselves in danger, not realizing the possible consequences.

Qualities of extreme sport concept

Extreme sport is often used to overcome own boundaries and limitations. Balancing and control of basic instincts are tested under the extreme conditions. The reaction of nerve system and the ability to control the situation in uncontrolled situations are the main driving factors for people to engage in these sports, experience and enjoy them. There is an unnoticed thing about extremes: it can be used not only for people who fancy it but also by people who want to prove to themselves that they are capable of doing it. For instance, a person who suffers claustrophobia might make a resolution to dive to the bottom of the sea or someone who is afraid of high – to jump with a parachute.

Beyond the concept

One would not exaggerate if says that fear is one of the most dangerous enemies of humankind, and the question of how to overcome fear is one of the oldest issues. At first, it might seem that it is nonsense as after all, a sense of fear, on the contrary, is intended to protect a person from getting into dangerous situations. Indeed, when it comes to a primitive existence, the notion of fear seemed to work. The feeling of fear has emerged in the process of evolution, but the farther people developed from the primitive society, the less sense of fear fulfilled its protecting function. Real dangers dissolved but fears turned into developing phobias. At the same time, the fear that no longer had a real foundation, started to slow down human activity. For example, at some stage of industrial development scientists thought that it was impossible to overcome the speed of 60 km/h: they believed that people would not be able to breathe at that speed. Only a brave, capable of overcoming the fear, sat in the first horseless carriages, first overtaking pedestrians, then a horse, then trains, and then the sound itself. Thus, the ability to overcome the fear factor was the development of many areas of technology. The problem is that on the level of instinct, we, as beings born by nature, do not trust technology. It seems to us that the plane might fall, and we are afraid of flying, it seems that the parachute might not open, and we are afraid to jump. We are not in a hurry to start doing tricks on a skateboard or roller skates because we are afraid of the pain when we fall down. All these fears keep us from development, from moving forward, from the satisfaction of a passion for travel, for the achievement of sports results, or even by active holidays. In most cases, the sense of fear is not groundless as we see on TV the falling aircraft, car crashes and hear news about frozen bodies found at Everest. It makes human fears only grow, gaining a foothold in reality. All of these factors arises a question of whether we can overcome the fears. There is no unequivocal answer to this question as the answer can differ from case to case. However, it is vital to point out that all the things that surround us are not only for contemplating. Our human nature dictates us to enjoy the process of living by not only examine the landscapes but taking an active participation. In this terms, it does not necessarily mean that there is a need to take extreme sport and overcome our fears. It means that the nature of human beings implies being active and curious about things that around us. It is scientifically proven that a truly successful people are more active and positive by nature. In the most cases, they have achieved success because of their desire, activity, and the ability to overcome laziness to take a step forward. Being active is not only about sports, however, it is essential to keep ourselves in a good form: there is a direct correlation between physical and mental health. Becoming more active does not mean that a person has to plunge into a grueling workout and strive to run a marathon or do bench press, lying in the gym with the speed of light. There is no need to practice in crammed gyms on intricate simulators or to sign up to expensive subscription. It is important, however, to not become a hermit in the room in front of the computer and devote the only life we have to the unreal world.

Extreme sport as escape from the real challenges

In real life, fear associated not only with physical activities. Often, a person might experience challenges in their life and dread to cope with them, to postpone and to procrastinate. Firstly, it is important to distinguish between a real threat and social sense of fear. When there is a real threat, the fear is usually situational and short. The first step is to take steps to overcome it is to realize it and eliminate it. For example, if a person is scared to climb a rock with a large dispersion of hazardous shelves or moving stones, it is better not to do so. Secondly, it is necessary to realize fear. It is often hidden under the guise of fearlessness situation where fear is not really designed. A person simply avoids frightening situations, and consequently, and a large hunk of experience is entombed. What is more peculiar thing about it is that taking extreme kind of sport can be an excuse from the current challenges in the person’s life. In this case, extreme sport creates a feeling of overcoming fear, which in fact does not lead to development.

Extreme sports wakes up the association with a high level of intrinsic danger. Many people cannot help taking risks and receiving a dose of adrenaline – a substance that is released into the blood in the moments when a person senses danger or fear and this is what happens exactly when a person experiences extreme activities. Nowadays, more and more new types of extreme sports are emerging that in general might be reckoned as deviations of the existing types of sports. The main characteristics of the extreme sport are that they are generally practiced in the free or uncontrolled environment. While performing extreme styles of sport, it is important to remember about rules of safety and to have appropriate physical compatibility. The main qualities of extreme sports concept are that it overcomes human boundaries and limitations. Balancing and control of basic instincts are tested under the extreme conditions. Extreme sport, however, is not taken by people who fancy it but also by people who want to prove to themselves that they are capable of doing it and so overcome their fears. The role of fear played a substantial part in human development. Without overcoming it, human beings would have stayed on the primitive level. Therefore, it is natural for people to aspire to the sensation of overcoming limitations and to come up with new technologies that allow humankind to perform better: faster, higher, and stronger. Often, however, extreme sport becomes the escape from the challenges in the personal life of humans. Participating in extreme sport creates a feeling of overcoming fear, but in fact does not lead to personal development and solution of the problem.

Extreme Sports and Their Role in Society

Risk and danger become vital for people.

Nowadays, daily life is full of predictable and routine activities. That is why risk and danger become vital for people. As the athletes demonstrate their skills, some people admire the mastery of the athletes, while others think that the athletes are freaks who do not care about their health. These opinions are the result of a misunderstanding between both categories. The majority may think that the routine riskless life is good for everyone and should become a lifestyle of every person. However, some individuals disagree with this idea and do their best to demonstrate the beauty and power of risky activities.

Extreme Sports a Challenge for the Community

There are many issues that make extreme sports a challenge for the community. The fundamental argument is the costs of treating injured athletes. Of course, extreme sports are health and life-threatening activities, which means that athletes may have different injuries and dangerous consequences. Medical care is expensive, especially when it comes to the treatment of a number of athletes. The taxpayers provide the athletes with medical services and question why they must pay for such foolish actions. The public purse suffers from frequent performances of the athletes, even if the athletes are not injured. Public property is damaged and needs to be fixed or replaced after their performances. As a result, extreme sports are the source of announcing and public dissatisfaction.

However, other people say about completely different values of extreme sports in modern society. Even if people want to avoid danger and minimize daily risk, some individuals cannot follow them. They need a portion of adrenaline. Safe and routine life makes them look for danger in other deviant activities including drugs, alcohol, crimes, and reckless driving. Everyone knows that people who prefer risk and danger have increased levels of dopamine, a chemical element that makes people feel pleasure and joy. It was interesting for me to find out that risk-taking behavior is rooted in the brain structure, not in the lifestyle.

Besides, extreme sports athletes are often called “Type T’ (for thrill-seeking) people. I liked the idea that some people do not realize that risk-taking behavior is not always connected with mountain climbing or other kinds of dangerous sports. Type T people are the rulers of society and true leaders. They are the one, who is not afraid of taking a risk and innovating something new. Today, life would be completely different if some people did not disagree to lead a normal and usual life. Some people have to broaden the limits of conscious and human abilities. They are fed up with normality. They break the stereotypes and prejudice in order to create something extremely genius and new. However, T-personalities may be dangerous. They also need to be limited in their activities in order not to worsen the matters by improving them. T-people are vital for society and are responsible for its progress and development in the entire life.

Extreme Sports Are Great

Some people are unaware of the advantages of taking a risk making mistakes. They think that athletes do not appreciate their health and life. The individuals who are involved in extreme sports must be physically fit in order to thrill the society. Healthy lifestyle and everyday exercising are important elements of preparation for performance. While the athletes train hard and are physically active, people who criticize them play videogames and eat junk food. One of my favorite ideas is the following: it is cheaper to pay for the treatment of broken knee than to pay for obesity and heart serious problems provoked by a physically passive lifestyle.

The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.

Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).

Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).

UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.

Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .
