Call of duty: black ops 4 [ ].

PhD Slider, when purchased, allows players to create an explosion that can kill zombies by sliding into them, as well as reduce explosive damage the player receives. In order to create an explosion, the player must first charge up the perk, which can be achieved by sliding. Once a charge is ready, the perk icon will begin to pulsate and flash. When the perk is initially purchased, the player will already have a full charge ready.

When PhD Slider is set as the "Modifier" perk and the player has all of their other perks, the perk will allow the player to have increased sliding distance, as well as having immunity to trap damage whilst sliding. Players will also gain increased explosive damage on enemies when entering a slide from a greater height.

In Create-A-Class , PhD Slider is unlocked at Level 42 as the last unlockable Perk, and can be applied to the player's Perk loadout to appear in any map. It can also be obtained randomly through the use of Secret Sauce if available and through a myriad of other Perk-based rewards and items within the game.

On January 15th, 2019 with Patch 1.11, PhD Slider was buffed, allowing players to take zero self-inflicted explosive damage. However, the damage reduction for enemy explosive attacks has been reduced from 80% to 50%.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War [ ]

PhD Slider was released with the Season Six content update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on October 7th, 2021. It is available in Der Wunderfizz on all maps, and is featured within its own perk machine on Forsaken , which reimagines the original PhD Flopper's perk machine.

PhD Slider allows the player to generate an explosive burst of Aetherium energy upon sliding into a zombie. Unlike its Black Ops 4 iteration, it does not require players to charge it up. Instead, the size and damage of the explosion are dependent on the distance the player slid before impacting a target. Additionally, in order to have immunity from self-inflicted explosive damage, the perk must be upgraded to Tier III.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War , PhD Slider can be permanently upgraded with the use of Aetherium Crystals , yielding a variety of new additional bonus effects alongside its base ability.

• Tier I - Immunity to environmental damage while sliding.

• Tier III - Immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage.
• Tier IV - Increased slide speed.
• Tier V - Falling from a large height will trigger an explosion. The size and damage increase the higher you fall.

• Die Maschine - Can be purchased from Der Wunderfizz. It can also be obtained as a Legendary reward from the Trials system.
• Zombies Onslaught - Can be randomly acquired from a Random Perk power-up, as well as dropped from elites.
• Firebase Z - Can be purchased from Der Wunderfizz. It can also be obtained as a Legendary reward from the Trials system.
• Outbreak - Can be purchased from Der Wunderfizz or randomly acquired from a Random Perk power-up. It can also be obtained as a Legendary reward from the Trials system.
• Mauer der Toten - Can be purchased from Der Wunderfizz, obtained as a Legendary reward from the Trials system, and randomly rewarded from the Nightclub easter egg.
• Forsaken - In the Observation Tower, to the left of the zipline leading down to the Burger Town Rooftop. It can also be purchased from Der Wunderfizz and obtained as a Legendary reward from the Trials system.

• Despite going by a different name, PhD Slider re-uses the original PhD Flopper jingle, which erroneously mentions the latter's name and diving to prone in spite of PhD Slider's sliding mechanic.
• According to the nutrition facts on the PhD Slider can, one can of PhD Slider contains: 238.02 calories, 70g of total fat, 1800g of sodium, 90g of total carb, 70g of sugars, and 30g of protein.
• According to the ingredients list on the PhD Slider can, PhD Slider contains the following: castor oil , nitroglycerin , powdered graphite , blasting cap extract, and distilled banana peel .
• At some point, PhD Slider was going to have its Black Ops 4 logo in Black Ops Cold War before being changed to resemble the original PhD Flopper logo. Files still remain of a ping icon for PhD Slider bearing the original logo.
• It is possible to get the points for both meleeing and sliding into a zombie while only killing one zombie provided the player times it correctly and has a strong enough melee weapon.

Season 6 of Black Ops Cold War is finally here, much to the excitement of the Zombies community that will be getting to grips with the brand-new Forsaken map , the fourth and final chapter of the Dark Aether storyline. As the battle between Requiem and Omega reaches its conclusion, Forsaken will contain a brand-new Easter Egg quest along with the return of a Perk long-time fans will be extremely familiar with.

An iteration of PhD Flopper is making its return in Season 6. Known as PhD Slider, the Perk enables players to slide into undead opposition to deal a bit of additional damage. Here's everything you need to know about PhD Slider, including all five Skill Tiers available to upgrade.

As with every Perk in Cold War Zombies, there are a total of five upgradable Skill Tiers that provide a range of additional benefits when the Perk has been purchased. Here are the Skill Tiers available for PhD Slider:

• Skill Tier 1 - Immunity to environmental damage when sliding.
• Skill Tier 2 - Increased slide duration.
• Skill Tier 3 - Immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage.
• Skill Tier 4 - Increased slide speed.
• Skill Tier 5 - Falling from a large height will trigger an explosion, the size and damage will increase the higher you fall.

PhD Slider can be found at the very top of the map inside the Observation Tower. It's worth noting that you will take damage due to Aetherium Crystal radiation so be sure to grab it quickly before it's too late.

Perks in Zombies cost a few thousand Essence to purchase and considering the huge number of benefits they provide, they're one of the main items that players must buy in order to make it into the higher rounds. The cost of Perks increases by 500 Essence depending on how many you already have, meaning you could get your hands on PhD Slider for as little as 2500 Essence.

Considering Tier 3 of PhD Slider grants immunity to any explosive damage that you deal, it makes a lot of sense to purchase this Perk in order to escape any sticky situations that you may find yourself in. Stuck in a corner with no way out? Throw grenades at the floor to clear Zombies out of the way and live to fight for another round!

Is PhD Slider good in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies?

There is no Perk-a-Cola in Call of Duty Zombies’ history more coveted than PhD Flopper. This perk made its debut in Call of Duty: Black Ops and, at the time, was the most overpowered entity when combined with the Ray Gun. It negated all self-inflicted damage like the Ray Gun’s radiated damage from hitting enemies too close to you. Additionally, you could use the game’s dive mechanic to create an explosion and take out any nearby zombies.

With the Call of Duty games leaving behind diving and instead using a slide, the perk has been renamed PhD Slider. It made its debut in Black Ops IV and had some notable changes, including charging up the perk by sliding to be able to explode enemies. With the release of the final Zombies map in Black Ops Cold War, Forsaken, PhD Slider has returned. Is it worth a purchase?

PhD Slider is pretty good in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies. The charge-up function has been removed, focusing instead on where you hit the zombie within your slide to decide how much damage and how far they are thrown. Of course, like every other perk in Black Ops Cold War, the perk can be upgraded to make it much better.

The following are its upgrades:

• Tier I- immunity to environmental damage while sliding
• Tier II- farther slide
• Tier III- immunity to explosive damage that you cause
• Tier IV- faster slide speed
• Tier V- falling from a distance will cause an explosion. Longer drops cause bigger and more damaging explosions

While that first upgrade is so niche that it is essentially useless, all other upgrades are welcomed additions. Of course, sliding farther and faster is desirable for making the main use of the perk more lethal.

The immunity to explosive damage once again makes it, so if you have a Ray Gun, you are essentially invincible as long as you have ammo. You could aim straight at the ground and kill any zombies surrounding you. The Ray Gun is already very strong in Black Ops Cold War; this just elevates it even further as one of the best weapons you can get.

The upgrade causing the explosion from falling from a height will most likely depend on the map. For example, Firebase Z has only one or two spots where you could even make an explosion happen, and they are not in great locations. On the other hand, Forsaken has many areas you can jump off of to blow enemies away. The main focus here, regardless, will still be sliding and the Ray Gun buff.

Of course, we do not recommend buying PhD Slider before Juggernog or Quick Revive, but we could see it being a purchase soon after that, especially if you have a Ray Gun or embrace the sliding attack. We consider this much better than any of the other post-launch perks that were added to the game.

After downing a bottle of PhD Slider, the tenth and final Zombies Perk in Black Ops Cold War, an Operator can take advantage of the following effect:

Sliding into enemies triggers an explosion. The size and damage increases the farther you slide before impact.

This Perk turns you into a living weapon that grows even more deadly as you invest Aetherium Crystals into its Skills Tiers, which feature full immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage, the ability to trigger an explosive payload after falling from a vertical distance, and more.

Look for PhD Slider in its dedicated Perk Machine in “Forsaken” and in the Der Wunderfizz machine in all round-based maps and Outbreak. The Death Perception Perk, introduced in Season Five, will also have its own standalone machine on the new map for the first time.

With forensic analysis contradicting Adler’s field report of the mission to recover the downed Satellite in Algeria, and a large-scale brainwashing operation playing out in the wake of the efforts to retake the Echelon listening station, Hudson drew the unthinkable conclusion: Adler had been compromised after being captured by Stitch.

With Adler off-grid and unresponsive to recall orders, Woods and a hand-picked team of Operators hunt him down and return him to home soil, where Alex Mason uses his unique, firsthand experience of the Numbers Program to break Stitch’s hold over their friend and colleague.

During Adler’s interrogation, it became clear that while he had been comprised, his career-long obsession with hunting down Perseus had allowed him to fight Stitch’s programming to some degree.   

In his twisted and tormented mental state, Adler had taken some strictly unauthorized actions of his own, in a desperate attempt to disrupt Perseus’s master plan…

As seismic charges are triggered in WWII-era bunkers containing stockpiles of decommissioned German bombs, the stage is set for the final showdown.

This, along with the epic conclusion of Black Ops Cold War Zombies in “Forsaken,” will all go down in Season Six of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone , arriving on October 7 following updates to Black Ops Cold War on October 5 at 9 PM PT and Warzone on October 6 at 9 PM PT.

With Call of Duty®: Vanguard and The Haunting season also on the horizon, there’s no shortage of surprises to come… watch for that intel later throughout October.

For this initial Season Six announcement, here’s what can be declassified:

·      New Points of Interest — Fissures crack open the Stadium and Downtown, strange and previously unknown WWII-era bunkers are revealed.

·      New Gulag — A return to a familiar 1v1 combat arena.

·      Regiment Transition Begins – Update your active Regiment by October 5 prior to a freeze to prepare for shift to the new Clan system.

Adler’s actions while AWOL led to Verdansk being leveled, significantly altering areas of the central city and revealing previously undiscovered bunkers packed with stockpiles of WWII-era German bombs and armaments.

Fissures Level the Stadium and Downtown

Seismic charges have devastated the Stadium and Downtown.

Old Verdansk Stadium is wrecked due to the man-made earthquake, which sent the cranes towering above down onto the construction zone and soccer pitch. Fortunately, a new stadium was already planned for the site, but for now in ’84, expect greater maneuverability across all levels of this location, including within the cracks of the earth.

Southwest of the Stadium, Downtown is a chaotic mess as buildings topple into the fissure. Reports from the ground indicate a marquee Hotel and several buildings in the vicinity have been destroyed in the blasts. For Tier One Operators, expect less verticality in this notorious part of town, as well as some additional areas to explore…

World War II Bunkers Add Intrigue

Hidden beneath Verdansk’s surface — long before the “original Verdansk bunkers” you may have explored previously — was an underground system of passageways and armaments rooms. These old German war bunkers have been barricaded off since the war’s end.

After Adler discovered the existence of these relics from a bygone era, he drilled down through the surface to plant seismic charges to set off a greater explosion. Their mysterious nature hints at what will come following Vanguard ’s launch…

Time to clean up the opposition once more after becoming a Prisoner of Warzone .

Ready to relive your first Gulag duels? Season Six’s Gulag is inspired by the original trio of 1v1 maps within the Verdansk of 2019, and based on the Modern Warfare® Gunfight map variant. This takes place in an undisclosed and sectioned-off level of the deep Zordaya Prison Complex.

The arena may not be just as you remember it, but the rules haven’t changed: win this 1v1 to get back into the fray and continue to throw those rocks with reckless abandon.

Regiment Transition Incoming – Take Action by October 5

As part of the Season Six update for Warzone on October 6, Regiments will be frozen, in preparation to transition it towards a new and more rewarding Clan system based around playing with your friends and fellow community members.

After October 6, you will only be able to view your Regiment Roster and inspect players. You will not be able to create, manage, switch, or invite people to your Regiment, use Regiment Tags, or receive Happy Hour rewards after this date. And if you are in multiple Regiments, you have until October 5 to ensure that you are “Active” in the one you wish to stay in through Vanguard ’s launch on November 5 .

This is all to limit any variables as Call of Duty sets up a new Clan-based system, to be rolled out in Warzone by the end of the year.

The ultimate tool for splitting Zombies like wood, the Chrysalax can be discovered in “Forsaken” as part of its own quest, through completing Trials, or by trying your luck at the Mystery Box.

Forged in the Dark Aether, there is more to this Wonder Weapon than what appears on its surface, boasting the ability to convert between a powerful battle axe and a rapid-fire energy weapon.

New Zombies Support Weapons — ARC-XD and Hand Cannon

Two new powerful Support options are here to help fend off the undead at the launch of Season Six:

ARC-XD — The Aether Remote-Controlled Explosive Device (ARC-XD) is an advanced Support Weapon fitted with an Aetherium Crystal that acts as a decoy, emitting a sound to draw enemy attention. The ARC-XD will continually pulse a small Aether blast that can kill normal enemies and launch them on contact. It is capable of fitting through tight crawl spaces, yet powerful enough to send a group of undead soldiers back to their graves.

Hand Cannon — Originally found as a hidden weapon in the Campaign and introduced to Multiplayer in Season Four, the Hand Cannon joins Zombies as one of Season Six’s Support Weapons. Hindered only by a strong vertical kick and slow rate of fire, the Hand Cannon can blast away zombies with ease, especially Special and Elite enemies with precision shots.

PlayStation Operators, prepare for Onslaught Elite and the journey deep into Adler’s mind.

Season Six will see the Multiplayer map Deprogram (see below) added to the Onslaught rotation. Call up your duo and prepare to journey into Adler’s mind and the undead nightmare that the Onslaught Orb provides.

Perhaps you can step up to the challenge of Onslaught Elite as well.

This limited-time mode is standard Onslaught with one major twist: every surge will spawn an Elite enemy, tripling the danger from the usual survival experience. High value targets, such as Megatons and Abominations, are also included in these surges, making it a true test for the most Elite Operators.

Survive 20 cumulative waves in this new mode, and you get a Legendary Assault Rifle Blueprint known as the “Rock Salt,” which is for a highly mobile weapon introduced in Season One of Black Ops Cold War .

Multiplayer — Three Mind-Blowing Maps on Day One

Season Six goes beyond the Iron Curtain and into the mind of Russell Adler for its new trio of Multiplayer maps, all available at the launch of Season Six.

Deprogram (6v6, Launch)

During Adler’s interrogation and deprogramming, memories from his convoluted past come to life as a warped combat arena in Deprogram. Here, you’ll pass through Red Doors as the fight rages on throughout Adler’s broken mind.

Each part of this map is a fragment of Adler’s memories, stitched together to form one of the most unique map experiences ever seen in Call of Duty . The Red Doors found throughout Deprogram can be used to quickly traverse the map, which may lead to power positions over objectives or be used for four-dimensional plays that can help you outsmart opponents. 

Amerika (6v6, Launch)

Take the war to a Soviet recreation of an American Main Street in Season Six’s next 6v6 map, Amerika.

A secret military facility in the heart of the U.S.S.R., this medium-sized map will have you fighting through a replica of a town that includes a pizzeria, theater, and a Burger Town mock-up. Maneuver through these buildings for close-quarter battles, and watch out for long-range weaponry that is sure to lock down the block.

Gluboko (2v2 and 3v3, Launch)

Taking place in the underground vault of the KGB headquarters, Gluboko serves as the newest map where Operators can battle in Gunfight and Face Off variants, including Face Off 6v6.

The Lubyanka Building’s underbelly can be home to extremely fast-paced engagements, as fights will spill out around and on top of the main briefing table.

Don’t forget to capture that Overtime flag if your opponent is still standing during a round of Gunfight!

BLACK OPS COLD WAR  AND  WARZONE  INTEL

·      New Operators — Alex Mason arrives in the Season Six Battle Pass, and Perseus Operative “Fuze” makes an explosive impact during the season.

·      Five Weapons — A lever-action Shotgun and a reliable Assault Rifle within the Battle Pass system, in addition to a deadly new melee weapon earned via challenge, all available on day one of Season Six. During the season, expect to earn a unique SMG and a set of dual-wield melee tools.

·      Prepare for The Haunting — We hope you like scary movies… the Halloween event spectacular will take place from October 19 through November 2.

·      New Prestige Levels — Become a true Prestige Master.

New Operators — Alex Mason and Fuze Join the Fight

NATO and Perseus have saved their strongest reinforcements for the final showdown ahead.

Free New Weapons — Five New Armaments, Three Available at Launch

Three free new weapons are coming at launch: the .410 Ironhide Shotgun, a hard-hitting, extreme-CQB option; the reliable midrange Assault Rifle known as the Grav; and the devastating Battle Axe.

All three weapons are available at the start of Season Six, with a prototypical bullpup SMG and a set of deadly melee tools to come later in the fall.

.410 Ironhide: Shotgun (Launch) 

Lever-action shotgun. High damage at close range with an improved fire rate. Reliable 2-shot kill with a short 1-shot range.

Obtain the .410 Ironhide for free and ready to use in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone at Tier 15 of the Season Six Battle Pass.

Grav: Assault Rifle (Launch) 

Full-auto assault rifle. Fast firing rifle with improved range. Fastest bullet velocity in class with modest damage and moderate recoil.

New Prestige Levels — Become the True Prestige Master

At the start of Season Six, your Season Level will refresh to Level 1 and your progress will resume from the highest Prestige Level you achieved previously. This season offers four additional Prestiges to achieve across the first 200 levels, as well as a new Weapon Blueprint:

·      Level 50: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key, Weapon Blueprint, and Battle Pass Tier Skip

·      Level 100: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key, and Battle Pass Tier Skip

·      Level 150: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key, and Battle Pass Tier Skip

·      Level 190: All Season Challenges Available

·      Level 200: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key, Battle Pass Tier Skip, Master Prestige Calling Card

·      Levels 250–1,000: New Prestige Key every 50 levels

This means you can earn four new Prestige Levels during Season Six, and you can always catch up to the latest available Prestige if you didn’t reach it during the previous season.

Reach Level 200 in Season Six to achieve the title of Prestige Master for this season. This changes your Season Level color and grants you the ability to personalize your Prestige Icon with Legacy Prestige Icons, get some new Weapon Blueprints for your loadouts, or customize your Player Profile with Calling Cards from previous Call of Duty games, simply by spending some of your hard-earned Prestige Keys at the Prestige Shop.

You can continue past Level 200 all the way to Level 1,000 during Season Six, and receive Prestige Key milestone rewards at every 50 levels along the way.

Also, don’t forget that your Prestige-leveling journey is synchronized with Warzone and Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® , meaning you can progress through Season Levels and increase your Prestige Level by earning XP in any of the three titles!

Finally, players can achieve the highest Prestige Level in Black Ops Cold War during Season Six. If your Progression screen has all six green ribbons — earned only by achieving Prestige Master each season — then consider yourself a true Prestige Master of Black Ops Cold War .

Season 6 will be the grand finale for Black Ops Cold War Zombies - and it's going out with a bang!

In Season 6 we'll be getting a new round-based Zombies map called "Forsaken", and there's a new Perk-a-Cola on the way as well!

Here's everything we know about PhD Slider, the new perk, and why it isn't called PhD Flopper anymore...

Treyarch have released the Season 6 patch notes for Black Ops Cold War , and with it comes some more information on the new PhD Slider Perk for Call of Duty Zombies.

Here are the new PhD Slider upgrades unlocked at each tier of the skill:

• Base Ability - Sliding into enemies triggers an explosion. The size and damage increase the further you slide before impact
• Skill Tier I - Immunity to environmental damage while sliding
• Skill Tier II - Increased slide duration
• Skill Tier III - Immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage
• Skill Tier IV - Increased slide speed
• Skill Tier V - Falling from a large height will trigger an explosion - the size and damage increases the higher you fall

As you upgrade PhD Slider it will become even more lethal, which will add a ton of fun to the new Zombies content coming in Season 6!

We were a bit confused when we saw PhD Flopper was due to return - because Black Ops Cold War doesn't have a diving mechanic - and now we know what the deal is.

PhD Flopper is being called PhD Slider from here on out. It'll work the same way, but just with sliding instead! Here's the basic effect of PhD Slider :

" Sliding into enemies triggers an explosion. The size and damage increase the farther you slide before impact."

You will also be able to upgrade PhD Slider with Aetherium Crystals and unlock self-inflicted damage immunity and bigger explosions. More on that to come soon...

Ahead of an official announcement, Treyarch revealed the following "Twitter Voice" on their official Twitter channel. It's a short clip of some Perk Machine audio with the icon associated with Black Ops' PhD Flopper perk. You can check it out below:

A lot of people - and one account called DailyPhDFlopper - are excited to see this iconic perk make a return, however... It does raise a few questions on how it will work.

Black Ops Cold War doesn't have a "dive feature" - rather, you slide in Black Ops Cold War when you hold Crouch. We don't know whether this Perk will include a new "dive feature" just yet, but Treyarch should confirm how it works soon.

Traditionally, PhD Flopper is a perk that negates self-inflicted damage - mainly through explosions - and allows the player to "dive" to create a small explosion upon landing. Something to remove self-inflicted damage would be useful in Black Ops Cold War Zombies - but what about the diving?

Black Ops Cold War's new Zombies map is due to launch alongside the rest of Season 6's content at the following times:

• 21:00 October 6th - PST
• 23:00 October 6th - EST
• 04:00 October 7th - BST

At the moment, we know that the new Zombies map is called "Forsaken" and that Alex Mason is set to be the Season 6 Battle Pass Operator . Warzone's Verdansk '84 is also going to undergo a few drastic changes ahead of Vanguard's release. You can see it all in the Cinematic Trailer below:

100 NEW TIERS, FIVE FREE WEAPONS + MORE

Season Six starts this week with 100 new tiers of content in the Battle Pass, including the return of Alex Mason at Tier 0. Play all the way through to Tier 100 to earn two free weapons, new Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, Vehicle Skins, War Tracks from the Black Ops series, 2XP Tokens, and more. For a special added bonus, you’ll get instant access to three panda-themed Operator Skins for Bulldozer with the Battle Pass Bundle.

This season, we’re proud to bring the new .410 Ironhide Shotgun, Grav Assault Rifle, and Battle Axe Melee weapon to Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty®: Warzone™ at launch. Starting on Oct. 19th, you’ll also be able to earn the LAPA SMG during “The Haunting” Event, as well as the Hammer & Sickle Melee weapon later in the season. MULTIPLAYER

Three new maps are coming to Multiplayer at the launch of Season Six, starting with Deprogram . This medium-sized map takes place entirely in Russell Adler’s fractured mind as he’s being stabilized by Mason and Hudson, including Adler’s memories of Vietnam and his fateful encounter with Stitch at The Pines in New Jersey.

It’s all connected by the mysterious Red Doors, which can transport players in and out of the action in an instant. Deprogram is by far one of our most unique MP experiences in Black Ops history, and we can’t wait for everyone to check it out later this week. 

In Amerika , players will take to the streets of a Soviet training facility built as a facsimile of Anytown, USA. Be sure to say hi to Bubby at the Burger Town! For some 2v2 and 3v3 action, we’re bringing you deep below a KGB headquarters vault in Gluboko . If you’re looking for a non-stop grind, this one is particularly crazy in Face Off 6v6.

We’re kicking off Season Six’s Featured Playlists with Deprogram 24/7 and Face Off Gluboko 24/7 this week, along with a new Gunfight Tournament and updated Face Off 6v6 and 12v12 Moshpit playlists including the newest maps in rotation. Keep an eye out for even more Multiplayer content in “The Haunting” Event starting Oct. 19th, including a spooky Halloween version of a classic map, as well as some additional modes to sink your teeth into...

As always, we’re delivering 20 new Multiplayer Season Challenges packed with exclusive Calling Cards and XP rewards to unlock, plus an Animated Master Calling Card for conquering the full set. Reach the rank of Prestige Master, and you’ll get access to all 20 challenges!

And now... the shocking finale of Black Ops Cold War Zombies is almost here.

It all comes down to this. Requiem and Omega Group face off in the ultimate showdown in “Forsaken,” our final round-based map in Black Ops Cold War Zombies and the conclusion to the opening chapter of the Dark Aether story.

As Omega attempts to lure The Forsaken into this dimension – believing they can capture its power to weaponize against the West – Requiem plans on extracting Kazimir Zykov from the Dark Aether to prevent The Forsaken from entering our world. Meanwhile, Requiem’s Director has approved Agent Maxis for “Operation First Domino,” tapping into her newfound Dark Aether powers to serve Requiem’s secretive objectives.

The stakes have never been higher for Samantha Maxis... and for reality as we know it.

Fortunately, as members of Requiem’s elite strike team, you’ll have access to plenty of new toys as you arrive at Omega’s secret test site in western Ukraine. This includes one of the most unique Wonder Weapons in the history of Zombies: The Chrysalax , forged in the pools of Aetheria within the Dark Aether itself. This new multi-function Wonder Weapon in "Forsaken" can be acquired through its own in-game quest, as a potential reward in Trials, or as a lucky roll at the Mystery Box.

As its ancient schematic suggests, this weapon can take two different forms. The first is the Chrysalax Savager , an Aetherial axe that can kill multiple zombies in a single swipe and launch a spinning energy blade into the air.

By shifting the hilt into a front grip, the Wonder Weapon transforms into the Chrysalax Storm , a rapid-fire Dark Aether energy weapon. In this form, shots have a chance to mutate normal zombies into explosive Aetherium Crystal bombs for some added crowd control.

We’re also bringing in the big guns (literally) with two new Support Weapons: the Hand Cannon and the ARC-XD , AKA the Aether Remote-Controlled Explosive Device.

Pick up the Hand Cannon at the Crafting Table when you want to deal massive damage to Special or Elite enemies at their weak points, or if you’re looking to clear an area with as few shots as possible. If you’ve got the need for speed, the ARC-XD takes out zombies as you drive past them with a pulse attack from its attached Aetherium Crystal, and its explosion on impact is more than enough to clear a room.

For our tenth and final Zombies Perk, we’re delivering the best of both worlds with the evolution of a series favorite. PhD Slider comes to “Forsaken” in its own dedicated Perk Machine and at Der Wunderfizz in all round-based maps and Outbreak, packed with game-changing abilities.

Long-time fans will be familiar with PhD’s base ability and some of its crucial upgrades, including immunity to explosive damage from your own weapons. However, its true potential is unlocked once all five Skill Tiers have been activated. Here’s what PhD Slider brings to the table:

• Base ability – Sliding into enemies triggers an explosion. The size and damage increase the farther you slide before impact.
• Skill Tier I – Immunity to environmental damage while sliding.
• Skill Tier II – Increased slide duration.
• Skill Tier III – Immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage.
• Skill Tier IV – Increased slide speed.
• Skill Tier V – Falling from a large height will trigger an explosion. The size and damage increase the higher you fall.

Because you can carry all ten Perks with no limits in Black Ops Cold War , players can combine a maxed-out PhD Slider with Perks like Speed Cola, Jugger-Nog, and Stamin-Up to sprint into a slide even faster, stay alive longer after slamming into hordes at high rounds, and survive massive blasts generated by dropping from huge heights.

Of course, a new Zombies map brings a new set of Zombies Challenges to take on for cosmetic items and XP rewards, as well as new Operator Missions a new Dark Ops Challenge to conquer in “Forsaken.” Twenty new Season Challenges are also coming to Zombies with unique Calling Cards and XP rewards to earn as you make your way to Prestige Master.

Ready to go hunting? Clear your calendar and assemble your squad... the Main Quest in “Forsaken” kicks off at 10AM PT / 1PM ET Thursday, Oct. 7th. You won’t want to miss this.

Also in Season Six, the D.I.E. Wonder Weapon can now be upgraded at the Pack-a-Punch machine in "Die Maschine" and Outbreak! We’re also enabling the Rampage Inducer for Local offline play, and Dead Ops Arcade 3 receives a new round of gameplay improvements and stability fixes this week – check out the patch notes below for details.

On PlayStation, Onslaught gets its newest map with Deprogram and the all-new Onslaught Elite limited-time mode, where you’ll face Elite enemies with each Surge. Survive 20 Surges in Onslaught Elite and you’ll add the exclusive “Rock Salt” Weapon Blueprint to your collection.

NEW WEAPON TUNING

This season also brings new weapon tuning changes for the Marshal, EM2, and TEC-9 from Season Five, as well as adjustments for the C58 Assault Rifle, KSP 45 and LC10 SMGs, Hauer 77 and Streetsweeper Shotguns, the Nail Gun, and Ranger Barrel attachments on all Shotguns. Please note that any tuning changes to base damage or critical damage multipliers will not carry over in Zombies.

Round-Based Maps

Treyarch Confirms PhD Flopper As Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies’ Final Perk

The Days May Already Be Numbered For Call of Duty's New Release Format

For some time now, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players have known that the next round-based map will be the game’s last. They have also known that the final Survival location will feature a new perk, with Treyarch confirming that a classic beverage is returning in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War .

Back near launch, the lineup of additional Zombies perks leaked . Both Tombstone and Mule Kick were on this list, with fans able to listen to their jingles long before they became purchasable in the game. However, Double Tap did not end up coming, as the incredibly strong perk would have thrown off balancing based on Treyarch’s comments. As such, it was replaced with Death Perception, a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 perk that is particularly useful for Outbreak players.

Following this Death Perception change , some were wondering if PhD Flopper would be swapped out with another perk as well. Fortunately, that is not the case. Treyarch not only changed its Twitter profile picture to the perk’s instantly recognizable logo, but the developer also posted its iconic jingle in a separate Tweet. While this is obviously exciting, it is interesting that the perk is using its original design and song, as that would imply functionality similar to its first appearance.

The issue with PhD Flopper is that, as its name suggests, it relies on players diving from large heights to trigger an explosion. Because of this, the perk could not fill its original role in games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Black Ops 4 . Once Treyarch swapped out dolphin dives for sliding, one of the main features of the perk went away. While it could retain the explosive invulnerability, “flopping” was no longer possible. As such, the perk was not seen in Black Ops 3 and was reworked into the less interesting PhD Slider in Black Ops 4 .

With this in mind, it will be interesting to see how it functions. While it is possible that it features a flopping ability just like the original, it seems unlikely that Treyarch would add a whole new mechanic for one perk. As such, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players may see it functioning like PhD Slider, but with the classic jingle and design used to evoke some nostalgia. With 5 perk tiers to work with, though, an upgraded version of the perk could end up being very powerful.

With more being shown from Season 6’s Forsaken map later today, players may only need to wait a few hours before they get their answers on how exactly PhD Flopper works. Based on the reaction so far, though, the Zombies community is very happy to see it back.

CoD Season 6 Roadmap Details For Black Ops Cold War And Warzone

The Season 6 roadmap reveals what players can expect for the final season of Black Ops Cold War content.

Activision has revealed the Call of Duty Season 6 roadmap for both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone , and players can expect plenty of new content for Cold War's final season. Season 6 will arrive on October 7 packed with a new Zombies experience, more multiplayer maps, and some drastic Warzone changes. There's also vague mention of a spooky new event.

The Haunting Seasonal Event

The Haunting, which is listed as Call of Duty's seasonal Halloween celebration across Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, is scheduled to arrive on October 19. Unfortunately, no details were given about the upcoming event, but more information is set to drop on October 18. It will likely be similar to last year's Haunting of Verdansk, which gave unique challenges to complete for spooky cosmetic rewards, horror movie-themed operator skins, and plenty of jump scares.

Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer

Black Ops Cold War is getting three new maps at the launch of Season 6.

• Deprogram is a standard 6v6 map, which sounds like a trippy and unique experience that plays into Cold War's mind-bending campaign hallucinations. This map is set inside Adler's brainwashed mind. The game's Red Doors will also be found throughout Deprogram, and they can be used to quickly traverse the map.
• Amerika is a standard 6v6 map that is themed around the Burger Town location featured in Black Ops Cold War's campaign.
• Gluboko is a 2v2 and 3v3 Gunfight map that takes place in an underground vault of the KGB headquarters.

Season 6 will also include new weapons and an operator within the Season 6 battle pass. Black Ops 1 fan-favorite character Alex Mason will arrive as the featured operator within the pass.

The new season will include five weapons. A lever-action shotgun and an assault rifle can be earned through the free tiers of the pass, in addition to a new melee weapon that will be achievable via an in-game challenge. Later in season, challenges will become available for a new submachine gun and a set of dual-wield melee tools.

Zombies Mode

Season 6 brings the conclusion to the Black Ops Cold War storyline for Zombies, with the Forsaken map set to arrive at the launch of the season. Forsaken is a standard round-based map that will include the final showdown between Requiem and the Omega Group, with the map set at a secret test site in the U.S.S.R. that is being constructed to open the largest Dark Aether Portal yet.

Along with the Forsaken map, Black Ops 4's PhD Slider perk is making its Cold War debut. PhD Slider will allow players to slide into enemies to trigger an explosion. The size and damage increases the farther players slide before impact. PhD Slider can also be upgraded to feature full immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage, gain the ability to trigger an explosive payload after falling from a vertical distance, and more.

A new Wonder Weapon is also arriving with the Forsaken map. The Chrysalax is a crystallized Dark Aether axe that can be discovered in Forsaken as part of its own quest, earned through completing Trials, or gained by luck at the Mystery Box.

Zombies is also set to receive two new support weapons with the ARC-XD and Hand Cannon.

The ARC-XD looks similar to the multiplayer remote-controlled car, but this version is unique to Zombies mode and fitted with an Aetherium Crystal that acts as a decoy, emitting a sound to draw enemy attention. The ARC-XD will continually pulse a small Aether blast that can kill normal enemies and launch them on contact. The Hand Cannon was originally introduced in Season 4 of multiplayer, and it can now be used as a support streak in Zombies.

Warzone Map Changes

As shown in the Season 6 intro trailer , several explosions are changing the landscape of Verdansk. Players can expect new points of interest as fissures have cracked open the Stadium and Downtown locations, revealing new WWII-era bunkers to explore. Buildings have completely toppled in Downtown, so the once frustrating sniper zone now has less verticality.

These WWII bunkers will somehow tie into Vangaurd's integration, as the post says, "Their mysterious nature hints at what will come following Vanguard’s launch…"

The roadmap also reveals that Verdansk's original showers Gulag setting is making a return in Season 6, replacing the Rush paintball-themed Gulag. However, the post does suggest there may be some changes to the map's layout.

Regiment Changes

As part of the Season 6 update for Warzone, the Regiments feature will be frozen, which Activision states is in preparation for transitioning to a new Clan system based on playing with your friends and other community members.

After October 6, players will only be able to view their Regiment Roster and inspect players. No one will be able to create, manage, switch, or invite people to a Regiment, use Regiment Tags, or receive Happy Hour rewards after this date. Additionally, players will have until October 5 to ensure they are "active" in the one they wish to stay in through Vanguard’s launch on November 5. So, it seems likely this means Vanguard will only allow players in one Clan, while players could join several different Regiments.

The new Clan-based system is set to be rolled out in Warzone by the end of the year, but Activision says more details will be coming during Season 6 and beyond.

All of this new Call of Duty content is set to arrive as Activision Blizzard faces a lawsuit from the state of California over alleged harassment and discrimination against women .
