Give the gift of a book!
As part of our ongoing development of year group libraries, we are now working on improving the selection of books available to our children. If you would like to donate a book to our children, we have created a small wish list for each year group of texts that will engage, excite and challenge our readers. If you add a note with your/your child's name, we will add a donation bookplate with your name inside the front cover, so children can see who has supported them in their reading.

Cranbrook Primary School (CPS) is a wonderful school full of amazing people. Our children are our best resource. They come into school each day happy, excited and curious. They display excellent behaviour and attitudes, and remind us daily that we are so very privileged to work with them. Their diverse starting points, abilities and interests make our work rewarding and enriches all our own lives.
CPS is a local authority maintained mainstream school with 120 pupils in each year group. We have a nursery with 39 pupils in each session, and 4 classes of 30 pupils in each year group from Reception to Year 6. In order to apply for a place for your child in the mainstream school, you will need to contact the Redbridge School Admissions Department .
In addition to our mainstream provision, the school is commissioned by the local authority to run 2 additional resource provisions. These are each a 12-place provision; Additional Resource Provision (ARP) for children from Year 1-6 with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) with a diagnosis of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), who access mainstream classes for 25% of the timetable, and a 12 place Communication and Understanding Behaviour for Education (CUBE) short stay therapeutic intervention for Year 2-6 pupils at risk of permanent exclusion.
Children are allocated to the ARP by the Redbridge SEN (Special Educational Needs) Panel, and to CUBE by the Redbridge Behaviour Panel. Please see the SEND Section above for more information.

OUR SCHOOL VALUES are at the heart of all that we do
Kindness , these values are displayed throughout the school in every room and regularly referred to in discussion with our pupils. by doing this we aim to create an ethos and culture that nurtures talent and encourages our pupils and staff to aim high for themselves and each other..
We want our children to b ecome confident communicators, respectful and responsible global citizens and be open to widening their horizons.
Through our curriculum we offer:
A carefully planned progression of the national curriculum programmes of study that develop essential skills and knowledge through a thematic approach
Lesson delivery underpinned by pedagogy that brings about change to long term memory through sequenced lessons that incorporate revisiting prior learning, so that pupils use and apply their knowledge and skills to make connections and think critically
Frequent and varied speaking and listening opportunities to become confident communicators
A range of high-quality texts and enriching experiences that reflect the backgrounds of our pupils and develop a passion for reading and learning, increasing children’s repertoire of language and stimulating their imagination
Enriching experiences that value their heritage and develop their cultural capital to widen their future options and aspirations
Thought provoking discussions on current affairs that develop the knowledge and understanding to become respectful, responsible global citizens
As a staff team, we are on an exciting journey to ‘decolonise’ our curriculum and deconstruct systemic racism by critically interrogating the actions of our predecessors, and how the past has shaped the events and challenges faced by people abroad and in the UK. Through our curriculum we celebrate perspectives throughout world history, particularly in relation to ethnic groups within our school community. We want all children to know, feel and believe that their heritage is equally valued and that they have the right to achieve success in life.
Our curriculum aims to address the various losses that our children have suffered due to COVID. These are addressed in all subject areas through a variety of strategic approaches. In addition to this, additional interventions have been put in place to support identified children with their learning and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.
We hope you will take the time to visit our special school.

Welcome to our school website. Cranbrook Church of England Primary School is a place where children, parents and staff work together to create a positive, vibrant and supportive learning environment.
We are very proud of our school and of the children who form our school community. Our Christian values are at the heart of our school vision and ethos. Children are taught to value themselves and others. They aim to achieve high standards through challenging themselves and identifying their next steps of learning. We have an outstanding and dedicated team, who are committed to identifying and meeting the needs of all children.
Our aim is to encourage children to appreciate that education involves not only trying to achieve their goals, but to also be good citizens. We try to help them achieve this through an innovative, creative, fun curriculum that goes beyond the classroom walls.
Our school is a warm and welcoming place. We are committed to ensuring that parents and school work together to provide the best possible future for our children.
We would be delighted to show you our school- please make an appointment through the school office.

History St. Mary’s Parish School with St. Rose’s Garden Childcare (Formerly Ursuline Academy)
Our parish school in Moscow has a very rich and long history that began in 1908 when Ursuline nuns came from Ohio under the direction of Mother Rose Galvin, osu. They answered the call by Bishop Glorieux of Idaho to come to Moscow to open a school for the young people of the Palouse, so that they would receive a well-rounded Christian education. The school has undergone many changes during its history.
The original Ursuline Academy was housed in an old farmhouse in 1908. Many add-ons occurred in the next 50 years to meet the needs of the students. Those who were able to come to the school were educated; those who needed to be boarded, due to distances, were given the space to live, eat, and study. Through World Wars, the Great Depression, epidemics, good times and bad, the Ursuline Sisters and their many co-workers educated countless numbers of elementary school students through the years. High school education was added when it was needed. In 1940 the University of Idaho employees expressed the need for quality education and childcare before elementary school. So, the Ursuline Sisters established St. Rose’s for Early Childhood students (Kindergarten and Preschool) —both were not common then as it is now.
Curriculum for St. Mary’s Parish School Preschool through Eighth Grade
Our integrated curriculum, from pre-school (3-year-old) through 8 th grade, has a mission of growing Disciples of Christ. A major focus of our curriculum is learning to grow, work, and thrive as a community of learners in a Christ-centered environment. From kindergarten on, students serve as leaders at the school Mass on Wednesdays where they learn to speak, gain confidence in front of people, and know they are loved by God. In helping our community learn to be present to God in our very busy lives, each day, the entire school takes a few minutes at 12:30 pm where they sit quietly, close their eyes, and listen to and reflect on God’s presence in their lives.
We start each day with an “All-School Assembly” where we recognize your child on their birthday or half birthday with a blessing, recognition of their gifts and talents, and a book that s/he has chosen that goes into the library in your child’s name. We say the Pledge of Allegiance, prayers, and engage children in community. Your child (whether a 3-year-old through 8 th grade) becomes known, valued, and loved by everyone in the school. Service, looking to help others, is an important part of our curriculum.
Our school serves Early Childhood (Preschool and Prekindergarten) and the Elementary Grades (K through 8th Grade)
Please call the office at 208-882-2121, email [email protected] to ask questions or to schedule an appointment to visit. Since our enrollment process is always open, we can welcome you when it is convenient for you and your family.
Tuition: Please contact the school for our current tuition rate. Tuition is payable annually, semi-annually or monthly.
Extended Care and After-School Activities: Extended care is billed on a monthly or drop in rate. It is a nurturing environment where children are safely supervised while completing their homework, eating nutritious snacks and enjoying age-appropriate games and activities.
Tutoring : Each homeroom currently offers free after-school tutoring twice a week from 3:15-4:15pm.
The St. Mary’s School Foundation Endowment Fund began in 1980 with $30,000, and is now (2019) valued close to two million dollars. All earnings on money given to the Foundation help fund the operational expenses for St. Mary’s Parish School. The explicit goal of the St. Mary’s Foundation is to help St. Mary’s School keep tuition costs low so that as many students as possible can experience a Catholic education.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the St. Marys’ School Foundation is to invite, accept and maximize private support for the School’s curriculum, goals and facilities. The Foundation members prudently manage, invest locally, and steward the assets entrusted to us by donors. We strive to build the financial stability of St. Mary’s School through the development of an Endowment Fund that will provide 50% of the School’s operating budget.

The Vision for each student at St. Mary’s Parish Catholic School
Imagine your child… Increasing in respectfulness, resourcefulness and responsibility Focusing on God’s loving presence Being guided by devoted and professional teachers Being equipped to excel and growing in confidence Becoming dream makers and world changers…. Imagine your child changing the world …
By the time they graduate, our students will have gained growth in the three R’s (which are the Student Learning Expectations (SLE’s) that flow from the school’s Philosophy, Mission, and Vision for each student).
R espect (for self and for others), R esponsibility (for self and to others); and R esourcefulness (using one’s gift to build a better world).
