Beth and Cath are leaving their husbands.
This is a story about two very different women.
One is wealthy and having an affair with a man who gives her the kind of love that her cold, detached husband does not.
One is living hand to mouth, suffering at the hands of a violent partner who would rather see her dead than leave him.
You may think you know these women already and how their lives will unfold.
Beth will live happily ever after with her little girl and her soulmate.
Cath will go back to her abusive husband.
And these two women will never cross paths.
But you will be wrong.
On the 3.15pm train from London to Bristol, Beth and Cath are about to meet and discover they share one shocking thing in common.
A clever, engrossing and absolutely enthralling listen about what really lies beneath the surface of a marriage. Fans of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train will be hooked on The Stranger’s Wife .

This was so good. Well developed characters throughout the series. Clever / horrible crimes and criminals. And James Lailey is such a good narrator.

Both the story AND the performance got me hooked from beginning to end. Absolutely thrilling!
The Stranger's Wife.
Loved it and think you will to if you like a good crime story. Well narrated by a very competent reader whos voice dosen't become irritating performing any of the characters as sometimes does with other narratives. personally it was good enough to make me search for other books by the same author and if possible the same narrator. Hence why I gave it 5 ***** in all areas. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
An amazing listen
The book is brilliantly written and narrated and is totally gripping, make ‘in the line of duty’ fade into the background

Blog Tour Review: The Stranger’s Wife

I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
On the 3.15pm train from London to Bristol, Beth and Cath are about to meet and discover they share one shocking thing in common.
Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book via Netgalley. I read the first two books in the series and I am a massive fan of both Detective Dan and Anna-Lou. While this is the third book you could read it as a standalone.
Anna-Lou’s detective series is a little different from others. While you get to see the detective and police procedural side you also get to see things from a psychological standpoint. Anna-Lou makes you part of the story by adding in POVs for other key characters who are somehow involved or related to the crime. This time we get to see the POV os Detective Dan, Beth and Cath. It is interesting how the story unfolds and how Beth and Cath have intertwined stories.
Anna-Lou does an excellent job of building suspense and layering the story. As each layer is peeled back there are more and more of them.
As I have already said I love Detective Dan. Not only is he a hottie he also does the right thing. He’s a good detective and he keeps his promises. I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens next in the world of Detective Dan!
About Anna-Lou Weatherley
Anna-Lou began her career as a dancer but a moped accident in Ibiza put paid to those aspirations and so she went back to her first and one true love – writing! She re-trained as a journalist, specialising mainly in women’s interest and celebrity, becoming the Editor of J-17 and Smash Hits as well as writing for a host of women’s magazines.
Anna-Lou has written three Adult Fiction titles – Vengeful Wives and Wicked Wives, both published by Avon in the UK and Bookouture in the US and Canada and Pleasure Island published by Bookouture.

ARC Review: The Stranger’s Wife by Anna-Lou Weatherley
Good Evening All,
Happy 2020 to you all and happy new decade!! I hope that you all had a fantastic 2019 and I wish you all an even better 2020. 2019 was a good year for me on the reading front. I smashed my reading target of 40 books for the year by reading 48 books. Now I know that I can fit that into my already manic life, I’m going to stretch myself in 2020 and aim for 50 books. We’ll see how that works out.
The Stranger’s Wife by Anna-Lou Weatherley
This is a new author for me and I am always love to try new authors. Thank you to Bookouture and Anna-Lou Weatherley for this advanced readers copy in return for an honest review.
Description 🔖
Beth is a wealthy woman whom on the surface, appears to have it all; a successful husband, a beautiful daughter and a gorgeous home. Cath is on the opposite end of the spectrum; living on the breadline with a violent boyfriend and a child that was taken into care. The two women’s lives couldn’t be further apart, however a chance meeting soon reveals to them both that they have more in common than either of them would like.
General Thoughts 🤔
Firstly, I did not know that this book was the third in a series until I got till the very end. Although it read well as a standalone, I would have liked the previous 2 first as in retrospect, I feel like there were certain things I would have understood more if I had.
The book delivered what I expected in terms of twists and turns and a successful mesh of two character’s stories. Although I was completely surprised by the result of the story, I don’t think I was supposed to be and I wasn’t mad at that. The lead up to the end of the story was the important part.
There are some pretty heavy subject matters in this book but I think that they were all covered well. Domestic violence comes in many shapes and forms and I liked that the book delves into different kinds.
Characters 👫👭👬
The obvious characters to discuss are Beth and Cath, but I was also interested in other characters in the book. Beth’s husband Evan and their daughter Lily had a very interesting relationship. It was scary to read how Evan treated Lily as a pawn between himself and Beth and what effect that would have on a six year old.
I did think that the book explored Beth’s storyline a lot more than Cath’s and I would have liked to have known more about Cath. I kind of felt like her storyline just dropped off pretty abruptly, with no real conclusion.
Writing Style ✍🏽
I always like authors that write from multiple character’s perspective and Anna-Lou Weatherley has been successful in this. I knew that the stories were going to intertwine at some point, but didn’t see it coming and my interest was peaked up until that point.
As mentioned above, there are some sensitive subjects covered in this book and I think Anna-Lou Weatherley has done a fantastic job at writing them into a story in a respectful manner whilst still having an impact on the reader.
Conclusion & Scoring 🎖
I enjoyed this book and enjoyed my first experience of this author. I would have liked to have read the previous two books in the series, but hopefully there will be more of Dan Riley in the future that I can dive into.

A Stranger's Wife is kind of a cross between Pygmalion and The Prince and the Pauper. The characters are appealing; the plot fairly original, and the ending satisfying. I gave this book 5 stars, a rating I reserve for books I can see myself reading again. This is the third Maggie Osborne book I've read, and so far, she hasn't disappointed me.
