There’s no denying this conviction that home is where you find a lot of relaxation. So my house is very important to me, and I like every corner of it. But there’s one place in my abode where I relax the most: the balcony adjoining my room.

It is not big. Its length is about 10 feet, and its breadth is about 6 feet. So, in total, the area is about 60 square feet. But it gives me enough space to relax, and I enjoy many things here. First and foremost, I’m a voracious reader. So in the mornings, when there is not too much crowd in the street, I sit on the balcony and read the books of my choice and a cup of tea.

That is a refreshing experience for me. When I go out and come back in the evening, I relax on the balcony. We all have family members sitting together there. We ate tea and snacks and discussed our whole day there.

In the evening, there’s a lot of hustle and bustle near the street, visible from my balcony. So I keep looking at people moving here and there and the sound of vehicles going left and right. That makes me feel lively. My friends assemble on the street, and I talk to them on my balcony.

That was another good experience for me. I feel relaxed at this place because it has good cross ventilation. I don’t feel like sweating. Moreover, I have a good attachment to it. I have wonderful memories associated with this place that will remain etched in my heart. So, this is the most relaxing place for me in my home.

I have many places in my house where I can relax and take a good breath, but one place I can relax is my balcony. My balcony is like a small room only. It has two chairs and one table. I can relax and be stress-free on my balcony as the calm wind blows towards me.

The balcony feels very nice to me. I can sit there for hours and hours reading papers and books and drinking a cup of tea or coffee, which would help me release stress and make my mind fresh. Sitting outdoors allows us to gain more consciousness than sitting indoors, as being covered in four walls doesn’t give us the power of the brain, which we can enrich while seated in an open area.

My balcony is the perfect area in my house to release my stress and thoughts, which I have stuck in my mind for a long time. My balcony helps me in many ways.

When I am stressed about anything, or I cannot concentrate on my work, I go and sit there for 5 to 10 minutes, take some cool breeze, and watch nature from my balcony as there is a magnificent view of palm trees and many other trees some plants I have also planted many pots in my balcony so that I can get so that I can always get fresh oxygen from there.

It helps me to enrich my brain from all of the problems I am facing at the time. My balcony is the best place to release my stress and concentrate on the work, and there have been many occasions.

3. Do people in your country exercise after work?

I don’t think people exercise after work because most people in India prefer to do morning exercises. Afterwards, they go to a job, relax, go outdoors to enjoy food or drive.

4. What is the place where people spend most of their time at home?

People spend most of their time in their bedrooms because when they are at home, they sleep 7-8 hours. So, most of the time is spent in their bedroom, where they sleep and can watch TV.

5. Should there be classes to train young people and children how to relax?

Yes, it is important nowadays because they do not think about relaxing. After all, the workload or the busy life makes them feel so exhausted that they cannot just relax. So classes should teach the importance of relaxation from their work.

6. Which is more important, mental relaxation or physical relaxation?

I think mental relaxation is more critical because physical relaxation can be achieved if one does physical exercises, is fit, and works the whole day. But if one is not mentally relaxed, he cannot do anything because mental peace is most important.

Each of us has a favourite location where we can find fulfilment and happiness. I also have a favourite place where I enjoy spending the majority of my time. My house is where I like to be. My Hometown

My town is my entire world. I was raised there. I have a lot of lovely and endearing memories of it. I used to play there with my friends and cousins during my early years. In my community, everyone is cordial. My town has many trees. I can only think of one spot where I enjoy spending time - my town. My visits home provide me with much delight and satisfaction. Everyone has a distinct favourite location. It is in keeping with their preferences and interests. Similarly, my favourite location reflects my interests, and I love being at my favourite place.

My grandmother's house in my village has often been one of my favourite places to be. Everyone has always held a special place in their hearts for their grandmother's home. We spent numerous summers with our granny when we were younger. Her home appeared to stand out from the rest in some way that made it special.

Enjoyment time

I enjoy playing outside while picking fresh fruits from the trees and eating freshly prepared vegetables. Frequently, I help my grandmother sow seeds in the garden. There are several reasons why I value this place so highly. There is something incredibly unique about the house. I feel at ease and relaxed here.

Why I Love My Grandmother’s House

First of all, the atmosphere at my grandmother’s house is distinctly different. I am at peace here. There is no noise or pollution because it is in a village. Additionally, there are no traffic jams here. I always wake early so that I can go for a walk and take in some fresh air. My body and mind are both revitalised by the fresh air. My grandmother makes me a delicious breakfast. In the evening, my whole family gathers to share our life stories as our grandfather makes tea.

My grandparents' home also has a small garden with grass that is a vibrant green colour. In the garden, there are swings as well. There, we also like playing entertaining games with our relatives, including water fights. We frequently spend the evenings sitting on the roof, looking up at the stars.

Holidays At Grandmother’s House

Over the holidays, there is always a lot of laughing and playing games at grandma’s house. Uncle's loud, recognisable giggle may be heard for miles. My aunt never misses an opportunity to comment on his laughter. The living room of our grandmother's home is where she regularly can be seen sitting and gazing out the window, close to the front entrance. She sits at this location to read the newspaper daily and sip on her old-fashioned steaming black coffee.

She can lose hours watching the birds fly to the feeder next to the window in her living room. Most birds have names that our grandmother is familiar with and recognises. She never skips a chance to observe the squirrels. Everything blossoms, and there are fresh flowers everywhere throughout the summer. In our town, the natural beauty is at an all-time high, and it's impossible to keep your eyes off the stunning surroundings. A pond is located behind the house. My cousins and I go fishing in the pond.

The village's residents lead simple, healthy lives. People care for one another and are always available. They make a lot of effort to maintain the facility's cleanliness because they care about it. We always look forward to our summer vacation so we may visit Grandma and Grandpa. Anyone who has met them will attest to their humility. All of this adds up to why I love my grandparents house and why it is my favourite place.

One place that I often like to visit is my uncle Shayan’s house. It’s a beautiful place situated in a serene and peaceful area. I usually take a cab to get there, but on weekends, I prefer to drive my car. As I turn off the main road, a gravel path leads me through a dense forest to my uncle’s house. The house has a large garden with an array of plants and trees that make the atmosphere fresh and fragrant. The front of the house has a small pond with a water fountain that adds to the tranquillity of the environment.

Uncle Shayan’s house has a rustic yet modern look, and the architecture of the house is quite unique. It has a spacious living room with tall glass windows that let in plenty of natural light, and the decor is minimalistic with a touch of elegance. The house has a warm and cosy feel to it, and the furniture and accessories add to its charm.

Lately, I visited the Glacier National Park. The trip gave me immense pleasure after a long time period. This is one such area where nature has bestowed her exquisiteness to the mountains. The place is ideal for hiking and trekking. I consider myself fortunate that I got an opportunity to visit this place.

For long, I have been travelling to nearby places, sometimes alone, other times with my family. However, to the Glacier National Park, I visited alone. The area is rocky and filled with natural beauties. Thus, as per my perception, the best time to visit this park is during winter. This opinion may differ accordingly. I can guarantee that the best time is winter as I have visited this place in varying seasons but found the end of the year to be the perfect time. So, my last visit was somewhere in the middle of December.

To visit this place all alone, there were several reasons. I wanted to spend some quality time by myself. In my office, I had a massive workload. Being a professional in an IT agency, I had to work under stringent rules and regulations. Keeping all of this in mind, I was too exhausted to spend another week in the office. So, to rejuvenate myself, improve productivity and get back my strength, I decided to take a week off and travel.

As far as my experience is concerned, I found this place to be a naturally tranquil one. I found serenity by spending time in this place. The wilderness of the mountains simply flabbergasted me. The carved valleys and peaks were magnificent. Moreover, I had some good time hiking and riding on a boat. There were also camping services, but I was unable to avail them. Cycling was another adventurous activity I could find there. The night was bright and the million stars soothe your anxiety in no time.

I also liked the lakes and wide glaciers of the park. Out of all, I liked the mountain ranges the most as they were different from others that I have seen.

India is an amazingly beautiful country. It is bounded by the Himalayan range in the north and is covered by the Arabian Sea in the west, the Bay of Bengal in the east and the Indian Ocean in the south. I have visited many places in India. I have always been a mountain person. On that note, I visited Sikkim last winter. It was a beautiful trip of 20 days. I don’t clearly remember the exact date, but it was in May, 2019.

The weather was very chilly there. I visited the place with my family, which includes my parents and my sister and it was a beautiful experience. I have realised that you can have the most adventurous and daring trip with your friends, but it’s a different kind of fun with your family. When you are out with your parents, you might not be allowed to do daring things like you can do with your friends but you can have a safe and beautiful trip. You can always notice a change in parents’ behaviour, especially when you are on vacation. Neither do they scold their children to be disciplined nor follow the house rules. They shed off their strict self and tend to become friends and enjoy the beauty of nature along with you. I had my sister, who was my best friend too. We were always together.

Visiting a mountain region in winter is a challenge. It was extremely cold and snowy everywhere. We were visiting the place for the second time. So we didn’t go sightseeing and stayed and visited the local places which we missed. It was as if the snow-capped mountains were calling us. We visited a village and decided to spend the entire afternoon with them. The people there were so humble. They offered us food. It was the most memorable incident there.

Sikkim is one of the smallest states of India, situated in the Northeastern part. Since my childhood, I was drawn towards mountains more than I was towards the sea. Mountains are always the most peaceful and calm place one can ever be, and I think it is the most attractive part. After we returned, we relived the old memories. I loved that place. We watched the photographs that we clicked. Those are the only memories we can ever get hold of.

Although I am not a religious person, The Golden Temple has attracted me since I began to explore. I had expressed the wish of visiting the temple to my parents multiple times, but we could not plan a single trip to Amritsar due to my busy schedule. So, they decided to surprise me and fulfilled my wish by ending our Himachal Pradesh trip in Amritsar.

My parents, and rarely, some of my close friends, had been my constant travel companion and so, no one else could accompany me on one of my dream trips other than these special people of my life.

As usual, our Himachal trip was a huge success, but I was excited to go back home after the 20 days trip to celebrate my 25th birthday with my near and dear ones. Therefore, I was irked when we took a detour, which was already planned and I was unaware of. However, when we landed in Amritsar, I became ecstatic. As aforementioned, they had planned to make my birthday memorable by visiting the Golden Temple. Everything went as planned, and at the end of the day, seated by the Amrit Sarovar with my pillars by my side, brought happy tears to my eyes.

The Golden Temple or Harmandir Sahib is not only a pious place for the Sikhs but is also a symbol of brotherhood. It was first built by Guru Arjan, the fifth Sikh Guru, in 1604, while the foundation was laid by Mian Mir, a Muslim aesthetic from Lahore. It has faced defacement by various Afghan invaders and was finally rebuilt by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. This amalgamation of various cultures is respected and celebrated in the architecture and philosophy related to this monument. What I like the most about this place is that anybody, irrespective of their caste, religion, or race, is welcomed, offered food and can find solace without hindrance. For me, it is a symbol of humility, equality, and fraternity in a country that houses heterogeneous cultures and beliefs. This visit to one of my favourite places gave me the strength to fight all odds and calmed my anxieties.

Describe Your Favourite Room [IELTS Speaking Part 2]

Today’s lesson looks at the IELTS speaking part 2. In it, we will think about the question: Describe your favourite room. I will show you how to read the cue card, make notes, and then answer the questions easily. I’m going to ask you to get up and get active in this lesson, so be ready to explore!

Of course, there are various possibilities for how the cue card may be written, but this is one:

Describe your favourite room You should say what the room is what furniture it contains what you do in it And explain why it is your favourite room

Here, we have a list of things we should talk about, although you can go into other details. For example, maybe you have a collection of some kind, an interesting decoration, musical instruments, or some books that you’d like to talk about.

Making Notes

Once you’ve read the cue card, you should take a minute to try down some notes. Practice doing this at home because it’s not as easy as it sounds! Under real exam conditions, note down some details about your own favourite room. Close your eyes and imagine you are there – what do you see around you?

Here’s some ideas for me:

office/study
book shelves
one single blue plastic chair
computer desk

These are just some ideas. You can’t write down too much because you don’t have that much time. Instead, just focus on ideas and difficult vocabulary that could help you describe your favourite room.

Vocabulary to describe your favourite room

Here’s an idea: Go to your favourite room right now and look around. What can you see? Can you name everything? Try it! Do your best! Look up the word for anything difficult in a dictionary. What about more details? How would you describe your desk, chair, or shelves?

What about your feelings towards the room, or a way to describe what you do there? Is it for relaxing, studying, or eating? Does it make you feel any particular way? Is it a place you get privacy or creative inspiration? These are great things to mention.

There are so many areas of my city I love,
But I will be talking about my all-time favourite place.

Where is it?

I love the Taj Mahal,
because it’s a beautiful place to visit,

The Taj Mahal stands tall at the south bank of the river Yamuna in Agra.
Taj Mahal or the “icon of love” is one of the best places to visit in Agra,
and the most popular tourist destinations in India.
It is located at Dharmapuri, Forest Colony, Tajganj, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India.

What is it like?

Taj Mahal has been selected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for being a classic creation,
It is recognized all across the world.
Take a walk inside the Taj Mahal and you will feel as if you’re walking through history.
The elegant architecture and appealing designs will transport you to the kingly times and leave you perplexed.

What do you do there?

With the diverse tourist places in Agra,
The city never ceases to be interesting.
And the diverse tourist places like Wildlife SOS
and Taj Nature Walk makes this city all the more unique.
I go there for sightseeing or to enjoy the view.

If your examiner asks you about traveling in part one of your IELTS Speaking test, they might ask, “What place do you most like to visit?”

Let’s look at how you can answer this question for a good band-seven score. Below, you can also read 20 great model answers to this question ( go straight to the answers here ).

What To Say About Your Favorite Destination

For this kind of question, quickly think of one place you like to visit.

Note: when we say ‘visit’ in English, we usually mean a traveling destination. This might be:

A vacation destination
A destination for business
A foreign country
A place in a foreign country
Another city in your country
Somewhere you liked to visit when younger
Any other place that comes to your mind

But this question could also be about visiting a local place in your city or country, such as:

The library
A shopping mall
Your girlfriend’s house
Anywhere else you like to visit

Just say the first place that comes to your mind. Then you should add one or two more sentences. You could talk about:

Why you like it
How often you go there
What you do there
How you feel there
Who you go there with
How many times you’ve been there before or recently
What you did there last time you went
Any good memories from that place
If you plan to go there again soon
Anything else you can think of

Maybe you like it because:

Tip: Picture the Place in Your Mind

The easiest way to quickly think of something to say about a place (or an experience) is to picture it in your mind.

Just imagine the place the last time you went there. Then describe what you’re seeing.

This ‘picturing’ is a very good habit for IELTS because it helps you to focus on ideas and what to talk about, instead of worrying about vocabulary and grammar.

Grammar Tip: Use Past Tense and Present Perfect

It’s always great to use the present perfect and past tense, just to show the examiner that you can.

This question about a ‘place’ allows you to easily think of:

How many times you’ve been there before
When you last went there
What you did there before

Focus on Fluency

You don’t need to worry too much about grammar in part one. Remember that part one is mainly to warm you up .

You can’t really get a high score in part one. So save your clever vocabulary and grammar for part two, when you have more time to plan your answer.

In part one, just try to answer confidently and fluently . This means speaking without hesitation.

It’s fine to use simple English to help you do this.

Also, don’t say too much. Use the three-step YES Method to answer your part-one questions. Just say:

Y our answer (the place you like to visit)
E xplain your answer (say why you like that place)
S top talking (wait patiently for the next question)

1. I love visiting Paris. I’ve been there about six times before with my husband. I like Paris because it’s so romantic, the shopping is great, and the cuisine in the local restaurants is fantastic.

My Hometown

2. I really enjoy going to my hometown during my holidays because it means I can see my parents and all my old school friends again.

3. One place I love to visit is the USA. I traveled there three years ago with my parents and saw all the amazing famous sights that I’d only seen before on TV, like the Grand Canyon, Hollywood, and the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

4. I love going to the beach in a coastal town near where I live. I’d say I go there at least once a year. And I like it because I can swim in the sea and lie on the beach and get a great tan.

5. I work for a German company and I really enjoy traveling to Germany on occasional business trips. It’s very pleasant and cultured there, and the food is delicious. The beer is great too.

6. My favorite place in the world to visit is called Pai. It’s a small village in the mountains in northern Thailand. It’s incredibly peaceful and quiet there, and beautiful too, with lots of temples to visit.

7. Whenever I can I hop on a plane to Poland. I like Poland because I feel very free and relaxed there. The people are friendly and very humorous. I especially love the stunning historical city of Krakow.

The Andes

8. I love the mountains in Chile during winter. I’ve always liked skiing and the best place in the world to go skiing, in my opinion, is the Andes mountains. I simply love it there.

9. My father is originally from Israel and I really enjoy going to Telaviv with him. It’s very hot there, which I like, and quite exciting and exotic too.

The Maldives

10. Well, one time I went to the Maldives on vacation and I’ve never forgotten that trip. It’s such a stunning place, really like paradise. I would dearly love to go there again.

The Library

11. My favorite place to visit is the library in my neighborhood. I’m a bit of a bookworm, so I love discovering new books. And I enjoy the quiet, peaceful, studious atmosphere at the library.

12. I first visited China seven years ago, for business, and I fell in love with the place. It’s a wonderful country with incredible food and I now have plenty of friends there.

The Mountains

13. I most like escaping the city and hiking up into the mountains near my town. Climbing a mountain is great exercise and all that fresh air really helps to relieve my stress.

14. Well, I’ve only been to Tokyo in Japan once, but I think it’s my favorite place in the world to visit. There are so many exciting things to do there. It’s a very clean city, and the people in Tokyo are always so polite.

My Friend’s House

15. I suppose my favorite place to visit is my friend’s house. When I visit him, we joke around and play computer games for hours. It’s always a lot of fun.

Ho Chi Minh City

16. I really like to catch a train to Ho Chi Minh City. It’s a great place to go for some shopping or for a fun night out. Even though Ho Chi Minh is a sizeable metropolis, I find that it still has a peaceful, small-town feel to it.

17. I’ve always loved visiting my grandfather’s farm. When I was a child, I used to live there, and I would work and play on the farm all day. So there are many happy memories for me there.

18. I most like to visit London, the capital of the UK. I don’t think there’s any city in the world quite like London. It’s an incredibly liberal-minded city where you can be yourself without fear of judgment.

19. I’m very health-conscious, so my favorite place to go is the gym. I hit the gym almost every day, sometimes twice a day. I love working out there. It makes me feel fantastic.

The Shopping Mall

20. To be honest, the place I most like to visit is the shopping mall with a few friends. I’m something of a shopaholic, you see. My favorite pastimes are window shopping, bargain hunting, and buying lovely new items of clothing.

Things to consider:

Look carefully at the topic. It says "a place in a village" and not a whole village. Try to think of a special place you used to play or spent time at (not a house).
You can begin the topic with an overall description of the village and then focus on one place , like your favorite playground, forest, lake, hill, or farm.
You can make a short plan of "what you did there". Consider using:
I would usually spend my time at...
At times I would...
I could always...
I would never get bored over there, because...
I loved to...

Alright, so I’d like to begin with the fact that I come from the city. This means that I grew up in a big , developed city , and generally lived there my whole life . However , in my country (and in many European countries in general) we have a tradition or a family goal . Every family tries to buy or even build a place in the countryside , where they could retire and live near nature . And so my family has a house or a villa in the countryside , 500 kilometers away from the city.

I begin with an introduction about where I come from and the countryside.

As a young child, I spent a huge amount of time over there. We used to go every summer and winter vacation and live there with my grandparents who were young at that time. I even helped my grandfather build up and extend the house, and so I learned quite a few skills related to construction and building. These are some memories I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life .

I continue to introduce a bit more about my countryside.

A place I used to visit quite often over there was a huge field very close to our house. Our property is located at the very end of the village , right next to the forest , and If I wanted to, I could walk out and explore the marvelous nature around. The field was located next to the forest . It was truly special because, it used to be a raspberry field long ago, but it was abandoned . However, there were still hundreds of raspberry bushes , growing unbothered by humans for many many years. This was my favorite place to hang out , as I could collect all sorts of raspberries absolutely for free . I even learned about some local wild herbs and began gathering those as well, as they could be used for herbal tea . In general, it was an amazing place. I could lie down on the green grass and look up at the clear blue sky , all while tracing some lonely cloud and eating a bag full of raspberries . How awesome is that!

I describe the special place I enjoyed visiting in the village.

At the moment , only my parents and uncle go there on vacation or during some holidays. As I moved abroad, I believe I haven’t been there for over 10 years. It must have changed quite a lot, however, in my mind , it’s still that lovely, tiny village I loved. I have definitely begun to feel nostalgic and I already plan to go back there again. Hopefully, I’m able to for the raspberry season !

I end with a wish I have for mysellf.

Many villages and small towns keep their traditions and culture alive. They keep the traditional architecture and design of the houses, follow traditions when it comes to festivals and local customs , and honor or respect their ancient culture . This makes these traditional villages a true piece of the past , and many tourists prefer experiencing and visiting these, instead of busy touristy places .
People in the villages are different than those in the city. In general , people are friendly , kind , and willing to invite you for a drink or even a meal . People gather at the village centers and share news , gossip , and random thoughts with each other. Overall , the village is a friendlier experience , compared to the city, as people live without much stress or worry .

The answer is for China, as I live here at the moment.

I’ve been to only a few of those, but in my opinion , they all live a very natural , clean life, unspoiled from technology and pollution . I’ve seen some villages that keep older , traditional-style private homes and public buildings , which look like from a movie set about an ancient Chinese empire . I really enjoy visiting those and comparing them to the ones we have in Europe. Life in those villages is usually slow-paced, peaceful , and relaxed, with all people knowing each other and gathering in the public square to share their latest news or some village gossip . This is very similar to the villages in Europe, where people do the same, except they meet in the tavern or the local pub .

Examiner: Why do people want to go to the countryside?

For retirement.

After living for many years in the city, many families prefer to retire in the countryside, near nature . In some countries, the countryside is developed enough to offer everything necessary like a hospital , a supermarket , and even some places for entertainment . Living near nature, people can enjoy the fresh air and a stress-free environment .

For An Escape

Many people feel the burden of cities , with all the stress , the crowds , the huge traffic , and pollution . For them, they want to escape from the cities and enjoy a weekend in peace . They would go hiking , stroll around a forest , and enjoy the fresh air and natural environment . This is definitely , one way to relax and get your thoughts together .

Examiner: What do people usually do when they visit a village?

Going out in nature , a person can do many activities related to the natural environment around him. If the village is near a lake or a river , people can go fishing , boating , or simply have a swim in the cool waters. If there is a farm , people can go g ather some vegetables or fruit , walk around the farms and chat with the farmers , or help with the farm duty , if they're willing to.

In The Village

Inside the village, people can visit some of the traditional buildings and take a ton of photos around. They could stop and talk with some of the local citizens and learn about their culture or habits , and even sit down and eat some traditional snacks with the locals . And of course, if there is a local festival going on , they could join the activities .

Many would explore nature nearby. Villages are usually near a forest , or a river and so people would wake up early and go camping in the woods , all by themselves . For some, including me, this is an amazing activity where you can reconnect with nature . Others would explore the buildings and architecture in those villages and try to visit some traditional homes . In many villages, these homes are like small tourist attractions , and so people would travel from far away to visit them. What else is there… If there is a river or a lake nearby , people could try fishing or just swim in. It is definitely great for kids, as kids can run around the yards , fields , or country roads and scream as loud as they can , and nobody would stop them.

Examiner: Do you think people will live in villages in the future?

For the young.

It is very unlikely for young people to live in the villages, as every young person is striving to achieve more in life. For the younger generation, they will be leaving the villages for the cities, trying to find success , accomplishment , and love . Young people are definitely not going to live in small villages, as they see them as boring and inconvenient .

For The Older

The older people get, the more they want something real and natural around them. They realize that cities are full of pollution , negativity , and stress , and because of this, they try to leave, if possible forever. The future might open up opportunities for working remotely or online . If villages have good , stable internet connections , then people could move to live over there, all while doing their job remotely .

I do actually . As society develops , there are more and more people who leave the cities, especially later in their life, once they’ve earned enough and feel comfortable to do that change. If a village has a stable and fast internet connection , a person could even work remotely from there, and enjoy all the benefits , like the clean , fresh air and the natural life around him. In some European countries like Germany or Denmark , there are these fully developed cute little villages , that have everything you can ever need , like shops , restaurants or even some entertainment like a cinema . So, yes I do believe that many people would move from the stress and traffic jams to a more natural way of living .

Model Answer 2: Thank you very much for this great topic. Madrid has many different brand shops but when it comes to footwear, I prefer Coimbra. This is a special shop which is also my favourite. The brand outlet, which happens to be my favourite shop, is located in the centre of the city and has a huge collection. Since the outlet is situated at a convenient location, it is accessible from any part of the city. It remains open from 9:00 in the morning till midnight and it is perhaps the largest shoe-selling store in the whole city. I am not sure when it was launched, but for as long as I remember, it was always there. I went there for the first time with my father, which would be at least 20 years ago. The shop is renowned for selling various types of footwear including boots, heels, loafers, sandals, roller skates, slippers, sneakers, tennis shoes, track shoes, work boots, party shoes and many other formal and casual footwear. In fact, it has a rich collection of numerous types of shoes for children, male and female. They come in different styles and shapes. Moreover, the shop sells quality products and the price is reasonable. The shop has become specialised in footwear in the surrounding areas. Well, everybody loves this shop because it has something to offer to everyone. If someone is looking for really expensive party shoes, hiking shoes or a cheap pair of casual sandals, this place is for them. This is why people from all walks of life and all ages rush there when it comes to buying a nice pair of shoes. It is most popular among athletes, students, executives and fashionable women. I like this shop very much because it sells the types of shoes I like - be it a pair of sandals or a pair of boots. They have an uncanny ability to blend fashion and comfort in every pair of shoes they make or import. Their collection is rich, without a doubt, and their salespersons are very cordial. Furthermore, they have a standard return policy, ambient environment, and good customer care system which I like very much.

Sample Answer 1:

I don’t really like to go shopping unless I have a good reason to do so, because it usually takes longer than usual for me to do the shopping most of the time. However, here I would like to talk about a shopping place which rather encourages me to visit it once in a while.

The name of this shopping place is “Buy All You Can” which is located in the outskirt of my hometown. It is more like a “supercenter” which opens at 6:00 am every morning and closes at 11:00 pm. I would say that it is easily one of the busiest shopping places in my town because I have seldom found a dull and quiet moment there, no matter what time I visit it.

Covering an area of about 7000 square feet, with a large parking space in front of it, this shopping place draws all types of customers, not only from within the city but also from outside of the city, most of the times. Of course, these customers have a handful of reasons to visit this busy supercenter, but the main reason is that it sells a complete line of grocery products, including fruits, vegetables, dry foods, snacks, loaves of bread and cakes, fish, meat, dairy products, frozen food, kitchen and household appliances, and cleaning products, among many other items for our daily needs. This supercenter also has separate sections for “seasonal clothing items” and “beauty products”. One of the distinct features of this shopping place is that it sells both the “high-end” products as well as the products for “regular” customers. There are other reasons for visiting this great shopping place, but I visit it twice a month mostly to buy some fresh fish and vegetables.

Anyway, this is my favorite shopping place because I can find and buy the products, I want, rather easily and quickly without asking the store crews there. Besides, I also like to visit this big store because it promotes the products of “serious small businesses” as opposed to just selling the merchandise of only big and profit-making companies.

Model Answer 1: I live in a rather big city which has plenty of good “food places” and “restaurants” to enjoy all kinds of food. In fact, there are so many of them that it would take literally years to try all of their food and dishes at least once. Anyway, I have no intention to talk about trying to taste all those kinds of food, but rather I want to talk about visiting one of my favourite places to try some of my favourite food items and dishes.

The name of this place, where I like to eat out, is called “Noel’s eatery”, which is also my favourite place to eat. Physically located at one corner and also on one of the major roads of my hometown, this large restaurant serves all kinds of food which include famous Indian cuisines, Chinese foods, Italian dishes, as well as popular dishes from many western countries.

Even though this restaurant is located at one corner of the city, city dwellers from all over flock into this busy restaurant in order to enjoy their favourite food menu. Anyway, I mostly visit this place to take my dinners, occasionally. This restaurant offers a sitting arrangement both in its lower space and upper space and attracts more or less all kinds of customers from all age groups and professional backgrounds, but it is more popular among the young people, probably because it is closed to a university and a junior college.

By the way, the décor of the restaurant is exquisitely designed with modern architecture, complemented by all kinds of modern furniture and amenities to make anyone feel comfortable. Besides, the elegant looks and designs of the cutleries there can only match those of a star-rated restaurant. Well, this is my favourite place to eat out mainly because it has a rather impressive look. In fact, it allows me to enjoy the grand view of my beautiful city from the top floor during the nighttime. I like to visit this place also because it has all kinds of food for all seasons and time to stimulate my taste buds. Finally, it is my favourite place because the staffs here are very professional and cordial.

Sample Answer 2: The “Fine Diners” (… or say the name of a restaurant you like…) is my favourite place to eat out. I often go to this restaurant with my friends and family members both for the delicious foods they serve and for the quiet and elegant ambience they offer.

“Fine Diners” serves various types of dishes and that’s why one can easily pick the food items of his or her preference. The main dishes they serve include Thai, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Chinese and a few local dishes. On special occasions like Christmas and New Year eve, they offer special menus and give discounts to attract new customers.

This restaurant occupies a 3 storied building, has a large underground parking and a garden in front of it. When people enter the restaurant, the garden gives a very first positive impression. The architecture of the building looks good from the outside and the interior decoration of the building is eye-catching. The light green colour of the wall, the opulent wooden furniture, the paintings on the wall, and the nice arrangement of the interior make it a great place.

The restaurant offers a range of dishes and the prices are reasonable. The middle class, upper class and lower-middle-class people can easily afford to eat here. People who love Indian, Chinese, Tai and Mexican foods and like to be in a nice place with a calm environment should go there and try their menu. Since the environment is tranquil and the interior is well-designed, people of all ages would enjoy being here. The playground on the ground floor is specifically built for children’s amusement and the kids would also enjoy being in this restaurant.
