Love Today Review: Fun-filled Youthful Entertainer

Movie: Love Today Rating: 3/5 Banner: AGS, SVC Cast: Pradeep Ranganathan, Ivana, Sathyaraj, Yogi Babu, Radhika Sarathkumar, Raveena and others Music: Praveen Lakkaraju, Ram Miriyala Director of Photography: Dinesh Purushothaman Editor: Pradeep E Ragav Art Director: MKT Producers: Kalapathi S Aghoram, Ganesh, Suresh Written and directed by: Pradeep Ranganathan Release Date: Nov 25, 2022

"Love Today," a Tamil film, was a smash hit in Tamilnadu. Producer Dil Raju has released the film in Telugu after being impressed by its success.

Let us examine its advantages and disadvantages.

Story: Pradeep (Pradeep Ranganathan) and Nikitha (Ivana), both IT employees, are deeply in love. Pradeep's sister Divya (Raveena) recently got engaged to a dentist (Yogi Babu), and wedding plans are in the works. Pradeep agrees to meet with Nikitha's father to ask for her hand after his sister's wedding is over.

However, Nikitha's father Venu Sastry (Sathyaraj) detects their love and invites Pradeep to their home. Sastry agrees to their marriage if they agree to his condition of exchanging mobile phones for one day. They agree to it half-heartedly and exchange their phones.

Will they check each other's phones? What difficulties would they face as a result of this unusual condition?

Artistes’ Performances: Pradeep Ranganathan not only wrote and directed the film, but also starred as the protagonist. He resembles the boy next door. His performance is relatable. His conversations, frustrations, and emotional outbursts are completely natural.

Ivana, the female lead, is attractive and has good acting skills. She does a good job in her role. Yogi Babu, who also plays an important role, adds dignity to the proceedings. He demonstrates the maturity required for the role.

Raveena as his wife-to-be is excellent. Radhika Sarath Kumar and Sathya Raj are fantastic.

Technical Excellence: The cinematography, editing, and music of the film reflect its trendy setting. Editing is crazy and creative.

Yuvan Shankar Raja's music is an additional asset, particularly his background score, which has elevated the proceedings. The Telugu dialogues are excellent.

Highlights: The first half Fun dialogues Narration Pradeep Ranganathan

Drawback: Certain portions in second half Predictable ending

Analysis "Love Today," as the title suggests, is about two modern-day lovers. The two lovers use their phones for everything from chatting to making Insta Reels. Mobile phones are more like a personal diary where all their secrets are kept for them. Naturally, the problems begin when they are forced to exchange their phones for a day. Tamil director Pradeep Ranganathan had a brilliant idea involving mobile phones and social media apps.

You might be wondering what problems this phone exchange would cause. It does. The heroine goes on a night ride with her ex without informing her current lover. The hero messages women on Instagram and speaks nicely to telemarketing women. These are just a few of the many secrets revealed by their phones.

The film is full of hilarious scenes that anyone can relate to today. First, the director reveals that the heroine is still in contact with her ex-boyfriend, and one of her friends proposed to her via mobile chatting. The director then sheds light on the hero's dirty secrets in the second half. Both of these threads come together at one point. There are numerous plot twists and turns that both entertain and engage us.

The plot of the film is similar to that of most romantic dramas, but with a unique twist.

The use of memes, viral songs, and jokes is brilliant. One of the dialogues also includes a reference to the recent "Jaru Mithaya" song.

Another thread involves Yogi Babu and Raveena, which adds another dimension to the story.

On the downside, the second half of the film is not as amusing as the first. Revi's character and his thread are not adequately explained. Other issues arise in the second half as well.

All of this, however, has no effect on the film's flow and it never stops providing entertainment.

On the whole, “Love Today” depicts the lifestyle of today’s youth and their dating culture through a lot of fun-filled moments. The film makes a time pass watch and provides paisa vasool entertainment.

Bottom line: Trendy Love Story

  • Krishnamma Review: Revenge Drama
  • Prathinidhi 2 Review: Illogical Plot, Weak Direction
  • Prasanna Vadanam Review: Thriller with Formula Elements

Love Today Movie Review: A rollicking new-age entertainer

Rating: ( 3.5 / 5).

There was a time in Tamil cinema when our heroes and heroines used to be the perfect-looking, do-gooders who never dared to cross the lines of morality. While men had the occasional liberty to push boundaries, women weren’t accorded the same and were expected to be chaste and provide unconditional love. This has changed though, and we now see imperfections and these imperfect stories turn out to be relatable, original, and earnest.

Director: Pradeep Ranganathan

Cast: Pradeep Ranganathan, Ivana, Sathyaraj, Yogi Babu

Rating: 3.5/5

Love Today is one such story of two imperfect youngsters—Uthaman Pradeep and Nikhitha—who live in a make-believe world assuming themselves to be 'the perfect couple'. They call each other all the sweet names in the world. While one person's ringtone goes 'Kadhal Neethaana', the other person's phone rings, 'Unmai Kadhal Yaar Endraal'. It’s that phase where everything is beautiful and romantic. The two assume they know everything about each other, and it is conveyed in the film's very first dialogue when the guy says, 'Enakku unna pathi ellam theriyum baby' as he swoons over her. The girl repeats this a lot too. But all this is until they discover the truth.

After making his debut with a rather quirky Comali , filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan comes up with another unconventional idea for his sophomore film — a couple exchanging their phones for a day and learning dark secrets about each other. This film is an extension of his short film, Appa Lock , which too starred him. The first look and trailer of Love Today made a lot of noise with many worried if it might be a celebration of misogyny or glorification of toxic relationships. However, Pradeep proves them all wrong by focussing on something… sincere. The film simply attempts to showcase the flimsiness of contemporary relationships.

Pradeep, the actor, reminds us a lot of Dhanush from his early days, or even SJ Suryah for that matter. Apart from his build and the guy-next-door persona, he has a certain zeal that's apt for this film. He finds a perfect foil in Ivana, who is equally chirpy and shows much potential during the emotionally heavy scenes. Though the focus is mostly on Pradeep and Nikhitha, there's also another couple, Divya (Raveena) and Yogi (Yogi Babu), at the thick of things. These two couples drive home the film's two important points — the importance of trust and personal space in relationships. Just like in Comali , here too, Yogi Babu gets a heartwarming character arc.

Pradeep, the filmmaker, deserves appreciation for not resorting to clichés prevalent in this genre. After exchanging the phones, when the guy unravels unknown info about his girlfriend and accuses her of cheating, there is a perfect setting for a women-bashing song to happen at a wineshop, but thankfully, Pradeep steers clear. He understands his target audience and conveys his ideas through simple, effective dialogues. The largely focused narrative meanders a little in the final act when it becomes preachy. However, that works too because of veterans like Radikaa and Sathyaraj. After his caricaturish act in the recently released  Prince , Sathyaraj returns to being sharp and convincing.

Performances aside,  Love Today  is powered by rich production values and a strong technical team. The film is punctuated by several clever creative moments beginning right from the innovative title cards that show the manufacturing of a mobile phone, a key tool in the narrative. Take, for instance, a scene when Pradeep, sitting on a commode, logs into his girlfriend's Instagram account. What he sees in that trip down the not-so-good rabbit hole hints at the s***storm that is about to hit him. While it is often a challenge to show social media happenings on screen, the makers of  Love Today  employ inventive techniques to make it fun and appealing. The edits and flashy transitions, particularly in the first half, are a hoot. A hilarious stretch where Radikaa goes on a rant about her son's phone usage is brilliantly designed to evoke laughs. Yuvan Shankar Raja's funky music aids in enhancing these fun moments. The idea of incorporating a remixed version of  'Kuttrale Aruviyile Kulichadhu Pol Irukkudha ' in the background whenever things go south is an ingenious move. One can sense the kind of fun Yuvan had while working on the film, and it's easily one of his better works in recent times. Pradeep also pays homage to his music icon in quite a few scenes, which include a portrait of Yuvan in his room.

During the film's announcement, many thought that the makers were trying to cash in on Vijay's popularity by borrowing the title of his 1997 hit, but the title makes complete sense once you watch the film. It is a film about today's love, and Pradeep does a great job of ensuring that it’s a story for everyone.

Pradeep and Ivana in Love Today

Story: A couple in their mid 20s exchanges their phones under a critical circumstance, but little did they know that it would pose a serious threat to their relationship. The little misunderstandings among them lead to serious disputes and them being suspicious of each other. The interference by a few others makes things worse for the two of them. Meanwhile, an explicit video of one of them starts doing the rounds on social media which becomes the final nail in the coffin for their relationship. How are they going to face it?

image_item

Review: Director Pradeep Ranganathan, who made heads turn with his debut movie Comali, raised many people's eyebrows when he announced his decision to play the lead in his sophomore film Love Today. However, the biggest challenge for him was to do justice to the short film he made earlier, based on which the movie has been made.

The fun-filled trailer of the rom-com offered a sneak peek into its plot and set the right expectations for the audience, thus elevating expectations surrounding the project.

Uthaman Pradeep (Pradeep Ranganathan) and Nikita (Ivana), both aged 24 years, decide to get hitched as they feel they are inseparable from each other. The former's mother (Radhika Sarathkumar) and sister (Raveena Ravi) approve their relationship, but the latter's father (Sathyaraj) sets a condition. He asks both Pradeep and Nikita to exchange their respective phones with each other for a day. He promises to approve their relationship if the couple still manages to stay in love with each other the next day.

With no option left, the two of them agree to his condition. After a while, the couple starts checking each other's personal messages, which leads to a dispute between them. But it was just the tip of the iceberg. The unexpected access to an explicit video featuring Nikita sounded death knell for their relationship.

The manner in which the wafer-thin plot made for a short film has been developed into a series of full-fledged entertaining sequences deserves credit. Staying true to the hilarious content in its trailer, the movie is high on fun and emotions right from the word go.

The interesting set of conflict between the lead characters, funny one-liners and spontaneous dialogues between the two are an absolute treat to watch. While Pradeep scores with his expressions and antics, Ivana impresses with her sincere portrayal of varied emotions.

Veterans Sathyaraj and Radhika enhance the narration with their flawless performances. Yogi Babu and Raveena Ravi stand out with their subtle, adequate expressions. Some of the movie's sequences prove to be one of the best examples in recent times to know how aptly cast actors can do wonders to a story.

A still from the film

Though the first half appears a little stretched, the consecutive rip-roaring scenes keep the viewers hooked. The right balance of emotions between various characters and relatable dialogues escalate the latter half despite having chances for the narration to go sloppy.

Yuvan Shankar Raja's background is the backbone of Love Today. The emotions in the film are apt for the musician to give his best output. Dinesh Purushothaman's vibrant visuals and Pradeep E Ragav's slick cuts ably support the storytelling.

Verdict: Director-actor Pradeep had mentioned in one of his movie promotions that the film has been made for 2K kids. It looks like he is completely aware of his target audience and has exactly served what they need.

Love Today

Critics Review

A fun take on a relevant topic that is pleasantly surprising.

Love Today is a lot of fun. The film also pleasantly surprises on how it tackles a very relevant topic of today. Few things could be up for debate but for making a lighthearted film without trivializing the menace of perversion using anonymity, this one is a winner! (more)

A TikTok-Era M.Rajesh Film With A Few Wild Laughs

With a lot of the energy from the films first half missing as it progresses towards a sober climax, we also start missing the audacity with which the earlier portions were treated. In whats meant to mirror a boys coming-of-age story just as it reflects a couple achieving emotional maturity, Love Today could have easily been a cautionary tale about the importance of mutual trust in a relationship. But by settling for instant gratification from its comedy rather than investing in its broader, more meaningful themes, Love Today too settles for the ordinary. It might appear to be a product made by and for GenZ. Sadly, its soul is that of a boomers. (more)

Love Today's humour quotient and Yuvan music will make sure you go back home highly entertained.

The film is technically fantastic and the actors' performances are also highly convincing. Despite a predictable plot, Love Today majorly engages and entertains because of the treatment. It is like your most favourite dish that you always order from a restaurant. You know how it is going to taste, but that is exactly why you order it. Love Today is one such fun film. (more)

An enjoyable feature-length meme with a moral science lesson

The film may want to be modern at its heart, but theres a Boomer-ish vibe that seems to be at the core of it. A case in point is the characterizations of Revi and Mammakutty. Though the film pretends to be accepting of the idea of the heroine having other guys as friends, the gaze it has towards such relationships is outdated. It doesnt see its hero or heroine with the same lens. At the end of the day, he is another Mommas boy and she is Daddys little princess. I wish the film had just been a long string of comedy sequences, instead of becoming another moral science lesson, just like Comali. (more)

Love Today is a nice time pass entertainer for the weekend amid its shortcomings.

While some of the comedies were fresh and amusing, several sequences felt like we've seen them already in social media memes, Youtube videos and short films. Also, Love Today relies much on the subplots which in turn feels generic after a certain point. The final act of the movie is nice yet it feels a bit too lengthy. (more)

The lead couple of director Pradeep Ranganathan’s sophomore film – Uttaman Pradeep (Pradeep Ranganathan) and Nikitha (Ivana) – are forced to do so by the latter’s dad, which comes across as a sly ploy to pry them apart. And it works. The couple, who keep telling each other corny lines like “Enaku unna pathi ellam theriyum, baby (I know everything about you, baby)”, realise the truth in that one day. Like how Nikitha is still in touch with her ex-boyfriend, who she still fondly calls “Mamakutttyyyy” or how Uttaman Pradeep keeps sliding into the DMs of women under the pretext of approaching them for his short film. As they dig deep into each other’s phones, trust issues creep up and put a question mark on their relationship.

Like his debut film Comali, Love Today also centres around a quirky idea that makes director’s job easy. It also makes the film feel like a string of scenes rather than a seamless story; even the screenplay is segmented. The first half deals with revelations of Ivana’s secrets and then we move on to Pradeep’s. The humour works big time because it is in perfect sync with our pop culture. Maybe, that’s why it feels like you are watching a YouTube channel that’s hilarious, but still YouTube. The characters also serve a single purpose. Take Ravi, sorry Revi, for instance, the purpose of the character is to diss ‘boy besties’, and if you have to ask what a boy bestie is, you are too old for the movie.

“Fun…fun…” a catchphrase of sorts in the film also happens to be an apt description of the film, where every problem is dealt with in a rather juvenile fashion and receive shallow solutions. The film conveniently deals only with softcore issues that are palatable for the mainstream audience. Pradeep doesn’t actually cheat, he just flirts. Nikitha was just helping her distressed ex-boyfriend by going on a car ride with him. Things get whitewashed as we see only the deleted chats and hidden conversations. But what about their search history, their kinks, and our truths that only our mobile phones know? Maybe, those are too dark for this film, which wants to end on a rosy note.

The film may want to be modern at its heart, but there’s a Boomer-ish vibe that seems to be at the core of it. A case in point is the characterizations of Revi and Mammakutty. Though the film pretends to be accepting of the idea of the heroine having other guys as friends, the gaze it has towards such relationships is outdated. It doesn’t see its hero or heroine with the same lens. At the end of the day, he is another ‘Momma’s boy’ and she is ‘Daddy’s little princess’. I wish the film had just been a long string of comedy sequences, instead of becoming another moral science lesson, just like Comali.

Nobody is better at changing bad narratives into good ones than the BJP’s media managers. But their services were not needed this time.

Movie Review: Love Today

love today movie review in behindwoods

Director : Pradeep Ranganathan Producers : Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Kalpathi S. Ganesh Cast : Pradeep Ranganathan, Ivana, Raveena Ravi, Sathyaraj Music : Yuvan Shankar Raja Banner : AGS Entertainment Language : Tamil

Pradeep Ranganathan made an impressive debut with the 2019 comedy-drama Comali, starring Jayam Ravi and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. He chose a unique plotline once again and came up with his second outing, Love Today. Apart from directing, he also played the lead hero in it. The film features Ivana as the female lead. Radhika Sarathkumar and Satyaraj played pivotal roles in it. Let’s see how it turned out to be.

Love Today explores the love story of two millennial kids, Uthaman (Pradeep) and Nikita (Ivana). Just like the most present-day couple, this pair fall in love and decide to get married without really ‘knowing’ each other. That’s when Nikita’s father (Satyaraj) comes up with a condition for their marriage. He asks Uthaman and Nikita to exchange their phone for a day. He says that he will agree to this marriage only if they manage to love each other after exchanging their phones. What happens when the couple exchanges their mobile phones forms the main crux of the film.

This is a unique idea that will appeal to the youngsters of this generation. Pradeep not only gets his idea right but also explores the entire screenplay by targeting the millennials. Even the film’s making style reminds you of TikTok videos and Instagram reels. The youngsters can relate to every scene, whether it is the sequence where the heroine goes on a night ride with her ex without her lover’s (hero) knowledge or the hero messaging other women on Instagram.

Pradeep Ranganathan is not only good as a writer and a director but he also scores brownie points with his acting too. His guy-next-door looks work for him big time. Ivana also impresses as the female lead. The lead pair’s chemistry is one of the major highlights of this romantic comedy. Satyaraj gives a settled performance. Radhika is good too and most of the time, she has been used to preach morals and values. Yogi Babu impresses with a heart-warming character. Raveena also shines as Yogi Babu’s wife.

Love Today’s writing follows the ‘template’ of every romantic drama. But Pradeep brings freshness through his screenplay and the usage of music and editing. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja works big time. It is one of the major assets of this film. The production values are great. The technical brilliance of the film can be seen in many scenes, be it the title cards or funky transitions.

If a director knows the sensibilities of his target audience, he can come up with a winner of a subject. Pradeep has done exactly that. Love Today will be relatable to all youngsters out there and it will engage them right from the beginning to the end. Towards the end, the film falls into the typical ‘message-conveying’ zone but that doesn’t take away the fun at all.

On the whole, Love Today showcases how a hormone-charged couple turns into an emotional couple. It is the ultimate fun ride, especially for the youth. You can watch it without any inhibitions.

Unique storyline

Thumbs Down:

Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brian leaning against a pick-up.

Love Lies Bleeding review – Kristen Stewart keeps it real in deliciously lurid outlaw romance

Rose Glass’s follow-up to her acclaimed Saint Maud is a scorchingly sexy, darkly violent tale of a gym manager’s love affair with a bodybuilder

T his may seem an unexpected point to make about an actor who is arguably one of the coolest people on the planet, but the key to Kristen Stewart ’s mesmerising screen presence is her ordinariness. I don’t mean her looks, although as Lou, the manager of a bodybuilding gym in an insalubrious New Mexico backwater, Stewart’s natural magnetism is somewhat muted behind a whey powder pallor, an air of defeated weariness and hair that looks as if it’s been deep-fried rather than washed.

Rather, it’s the unstudied, naturalistic quality of her performances, which are seeded with little glitchy details and gestures – the way she rakes her fingers through her fringe; the moment when she nervously wipes her nose on the sleeve of her T-shirt. Small things, perhaps, but these seemingly unconscious tics humanise her characters. They are recognisable, relatable moments of social awkwardness that anchor her in (or at least near) the real world. It’s a quality that adds to all her performances, but which is particularly invaluable in British director Rose Glass’s second picture, the deliciously lurid and thrillingly degenerate outlaw romance Love Lies Bleeding . When the rest of the movie launches itself headlong into outlandish, almost cartoonish excess, Lou is plausibly three-dimensional and grounded. The rooted realism that underpins Stewart’s performance offers a necessary balance to some of the more untrammelled impulses in Glass’s follow-up to her impressive debut feature, Saint Maud (2020).

Another significant asset is newcomer Katy O’Brian, who shoulders what is probably the most demanding role in the film. Jackie is a bodybuilder from the kind of Godfearing midwestern farming country that views a “muscle chick” as an unnatural abomination. Blowing into Lou’s grim home town, more a collection of strip malls and casual violence than a functioning community, Jackie decides to hole up for a while and earn some money while she prepares for a bodybuilding competition in Las Vegas.

She is a magnificent creature, glistening with confidence and physical assurance. It’s no wonder that Lou gawps across the gym, mouth agape, when she catches sight of Jackie, with her dark honey tan and a swarm of men preening around her. Eager to impress the new arrival later that evening, Lou scurries off into the office to fetch a box of steroid shots; she lays them in front of Jackie like an offering to a deity. The relationship that ignites between them is sweaty, grubby and scorching hot, but as the steroids do their work, warping and distorting Jackie’s body and her mind, a savage, self-destructive, simmering violence creeps into their romance.

And this is where Lou’s sister Beth (Jena Malone) and her husband, JJ (Dave Franco), come in. At first glance the pair seem to be woefully underwritten, schematic cardboard cutouts rather than layered characters. She’s the battered wife; he’s the short-fused bully who takes out his inadequacy on his spouse. Concern for Beth’s safety is why Lou can’t bring herself to leave this spiteful small town, despite numerous reasons to do so (first of these being her gun-toting estranged father, played with reptilian menace by Ed Harris). But I suspect that Glass intends Beth and JJ to be more than just the dramatic device that unleashes the film’s dark heart and violent impulses. They also serve as a kind of twisted mirror image of Lou and Jackie’s amour fou and a cautionary warning that any relationship this thoroughly soaked in blood can’t, ultimately, end well, however invincible the partnership and the passion that drives it might seem at the time.

And there’s a whole lot of blood, in a movie that embraces full-bore nastiness on every level. With the lip-smacking relish that she brings to the body-horror elements of the picture, and the sickening, sinewy crunches in the sound design, Glass ranks alongside the French director of Titane , Julia Ducournau , as one of the most exciting film-makers working in genre cinema. Both she and Ducournau share a heady, freewheeling independence in their approach and a healthy resistance to genre conventions. Both combine an appetite for gruesome excess with an impressive intellectual rigour.

Love Lies Bleeding won’t be for everyone. I’ve watched it twice, and it plays rather better to an up-for-it, late-night audience than it does at 11am on a Sunday morning. But this is a movie that will find its people. And once it does, cult status is more or less assured.

COMALI MOVIE REVIEW CLICK TO RATE THE MOVIE

After starring in offbeat thrillers, Jayam Ravi has taken the funny track after a brief hiatus with Comali, produced by Ishari K.Ganesh under Vels Film International, a Tamil comedy written and directed by debutant Pradeep Ranganathan that stars Jayam Ravi and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles while Yogi Babu, KS Ravikumar, and RJ Anandhi play crucial supporting roles.

The film deals with Ravi (played by Jayam Ravi), a teenager who lives through his nineties like any adolescent schoolgoer would, he falls in love with a fellow classmate Nikitha (played by Samyuktha Hegde) until his life turns upside down when he meets with a fatal accident. Ravi slips into coma and wakes up after sixteen years, only to find that the world around him has changed.

The initial portions give us the nostalgia of Ravi's world, an era when cameras are incapable of taking a selfie. The film presents a lot of quirky situations (which includes three gangsters planning a hit). The transition between the nineties flashback to 2016 was present through a nice stretch of visual comedy. There are more such instances where the humour is given through visuals and songs. The film throws a lot of pop-culture references for both eras in an organic way.

The first half really captures Ravi's alien-ness. Even the lack of medical detail in the film is tackled by the scene where ShaRa's character wonders about Ravi's sudden agility. The film presents many interesting characters, for instance, there is a reclusive kid named Mysskin, and Ravi's attempts to cheer him up and engage with the real world feels endearing. The minor plot-points and characters that were introduced in the initial portion become important in the latter half.

In the second half, we see Ravi's attempt to stand on his feet financially, as he works as a security guard and starts his own Youtube channel named Comali. Ravi's conflict with the local politician Dharmaraja (played by KS Ravikumar) who was indirectly responsible for the accident is a parallel story handled well. The subplot does not work in the lines of revenge but plays out in a lighter way with more emotions attached towards the climax. The film still gives ample scope for gags at the second half with a little hint of drama (where Jayam Ravi delivers a monologue on how emotions never change despite the change in culture).

Jayam Ravi delivers an engaging performance as a man-child who comes of age. Yogi Babu gives a credible supporting performance and his presence isn't used for cheap humour this time, he has an extended role than a comedian, plays a perfect support role throughout with good performance in serious scenes too. Kajal Agarwal plays a more of supporting role and has a less scope to perform, as Jayam Ravi & Yogi Babu has the lion share of scenes that are driven by comedy one-liners that work really well overall.

Debutant Samyuktha Hegde was good in her brief role. RJ Anandhi gives a good performance and shines in the emotional scenes. Jayam Ravi deserves a special mention for the makeover of the school portions. The transition after Jayam Ravi gets out of coma and the following screenplay is very natural and believable.

HipHop Aadhi's BGM has helped the film's youthful genre, the 'Paisa' song looks grand with the good visuals and the climax 'Nanba' song ups the emotion factor. Technically, the film is backed up with good visuals, music and the climax might look little stretched but overall nothing much yo complain. Debutant Pradeep plays a cameo but has delivered a simple story with a big heart that will be liked by kids and family audiences.

The Chennai flood scenes are executed well and have a good connection to the story's emotional climax. Jayam Ravi's acting in the important pre-climax might remind you the Santhosh Subramanian scene with Prakash Raj, but the actor had delivered the emotional scenes really well that makes you ignore the minor logical loopholes and enjoy the ride. Overall, Director Pradeep Ranganathan delivers a consistently lighter film that is powered by some noteworthy filmmaking touches.
