In response to the announcement of the National Essay Writing Competition on the eve of 8th Ayurveda Day 2023 by the Ministry of Ayush , Govt. Of India on MyGov (URL: https://www.mygov.in ), a total of 1,070 participants participated in the ‘ Ayurveda for One Health Essay Contest ’ .

We are delighted to announce the winners of the National Level Essay Competition for Ayurveda Day 2023 , an event that celebrated the intellectual prowess of individuals who passionately expressed their knowledge and devotion to Ayurveda through the written word. After thoughtful evaluation by our evaluation committee, it is with great pleasure that we present the top three winners:

These individuals demonstrated their understanding of Ayurveda, articulating its essence in their essays. The winners have beautifully woven a narrative that highlights the intricate symbiotic connection that exists between Ayurveda, animal health, and the environment.

On the occasion of 8 th Ayurveda Day with the theme “Ayurved for one Health” various competitions were conducted for the  UG Students, PG Students and Interns of MIAMS Manipal

Essay Competition conducted on 06.11.2023 on the theme of “Ayurved for one Health” Total 18 students participated in the Competition three students bagged prizes as First, Second  and third.

Shastra Lekhan-National Level Essay Competition Posted on February 7th, 2024 @ 09:53am

Organized jointly by the Department of Roganidana & Vikruti Vigyana and the Department of Rasashastra Bhaishajya Kalpana, ACH, RKU on the month of November – December 2023. This event, a crucial part of the “Ayu Prabodhini” Awakening the Essence of Ayurveda' series, has witnessed a remarkable display of intellect, enthusiasm, and commitment to the profound principles of Ayurveda.

The success of this competition is not merely reflected in the winners but in the collective efforts of all 89 participants who represented 14 different states from different prestigious colleges all over India. The diversity and depth of knowledge brought forth by the 22 UG students, 28 PG students, 7 Ph.D. scholars, 27 teaching faculty members, and 5 general practitioners have truly enriched the academic landscape.

Dr.Deepty Nair (Director) & Dr.Manoj Pande (Dy.Director) had extended their seamless support for making our event successful. We also extend our special thanks to Dr.Shreekant Mundada for being the part of this event.

About Ayurveda for One Health Essay Contest

Annually, on the sacred occasion of Dhanwantari Jayanti, the Ministry of Ayush embraces the spirit of Ayurveda Day. As we approach the 8th Ayurveda Day, scheduled for the 10th of November 2023, we are thrilled to announce a noteworthy initiative.

The Ministry of Ayush is delighted to introduce an online essay writing competition as an integral facet of our 8th Ayurveda Day celebration. We extend a warm invitation to all citizens of India, encouraging them to articulate their profound ideas and insights on the theme of “Ayurveda for One Health.” Your participation in this prestigious event not only celebrates our heritage but also contributes to the discourse on “Ayurveda for one Health”.

Guidelines for Participants:

Topic : “Ayurveda for one Health”

The essay should be within 1500* word limit.

The essay should not exceed word limit. This would lead to disqualification.

The announcement of awardees will be done with cash prizes as per the following details-

• Ist Prize: Rs. 5,000/- • IInd prize: Rs. 4,000/- • IIIrd prize: Rs. 3,000/- • IV prize: Rs.2000/-

Ministry of Ayush, Government of India observes Ayurveda Day every year on Dhanawantari Jayanti (Dhanteras) since 2016. Ayurveda is perceived as one of the most ancient well documented system of medicine equally relevant in modern times ,wherein prevention of disease and promotion of health are both given due consideration. Its holistic approaches whether for healthy individuals or for diseased ones remains unparalleled. Ayurveda Day 2022 is being observed on 23rd October 2022. Use of Ayush-based solutions for strengthening Immunity

Healthcare practices advocated by Ayush systems (namely Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy) are known to promote general wellness. In fact, they exert a positive impact both on the mind and the body. These practices aim to go beyond the symptoms diseasesand work on the overall strengths and weakness of an individual.They are normally free of side-effects, and their rewards are long-lasting.

COVID-19 has brought in new challenges before the health care system. With no definite cure for the disease, the health care systems all over world are stretched to their limits. The surest and safest way to survice the pandemic is to avoid falling sick. As a result, immunity of a person has become the key factor in prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

The strength of AYUSH systems in strengthening the natural immune system of the human bodyis well known. They provide solutions for this using readily available herbs, condiments etc., many of which are also widely used in our day to day cooking. The fact that the AYUSH medicines and therapies have negligible side effects is also a reason for their wide acceptability.

For many of us, our childhood memories include decoctions or medicines consumed to prevent disease like flu or viral infections. During the current pandemic also, the Ayush medicines and therapies have been extensively used,especially for prevention of disease. Documented and undocumented reports about Ayush-based solutions helpingboth in prevention of and recovery from Covid -19are increasingly seen in the public domain. Correct information about such solutions needs to be made available to the people across the country in easy formats, so that they can adopt them in their daily lives.

Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College is privileged to announce Vijnana Sarani 2023, an International conference on Clinical Pediatrics in Ayurveda which is going to be held on 8th & 9th June,2023 at Ahalia campus, Palakkad. In relation with the Conference, College is organizing essay competition in two categories. Entries are invited from individuals of Ayurveda fraternity.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE COMPETITION 

Only Registered candidates of “Vijnana Sarani-2023”can participate in this competition Registration details will be updated in the official website: https://ahaliaayurvedic.org/college/vijnana-sarani/ 

The essay must be prepared in English language, based on Ayurveda concepts  It must be prepared not exceeding 20,000 words Font- Times New Roman, font size-12, for titles-14, A4 pages, Line spacing 1.5 Hard copy of the essay must be printed on one side of the paper. An abstract not exceeding 500 words must be appended to each copy of the essay Essay should contain introduction, main body, discussion, conclusion and reference The content should highlight the research attitude of the author Relevant English terminologies are to be written in brackets along with each Sanskrit word used The essay must be the original work of the author in all aspects Any type of plagiarism will not be encouraged An essay, for which a prize has been awarded elsewhere, should not be submitted Any paper prepared in relation with Ph.D./M.Phil./ PG. Thesis should not be submitted. The name, address, contact number, email address and other details of the participant shall be mentioned in the covering letter. The name and address should not be mentioned anywhere in the essay. Essay should be submitted in both Soft copy and Hard copy format   Authors should submit Soft copy to email id: [email protected]   Three Hard copies of the work in neatly bound are to be sent by registered post or speed post to the Address: Scientific committee, c/o Vijnana Sarani-2023, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College, Kozhipara post, Palakkad-678557 and superscribed “Essay Competition- Senior /Junior level”. It must reach here on or before 20/05/2023. 

The Submitted copies of the essay will not be returned to the author Ahalia Ayurveda medical college Authorities have the right to withdraw the prize at any point of time, if the content found not worthy for the award The decision of Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College will be final relating to the competition Result of the competition will be announced on the day of International Conference

Three northern region students top 2023 national essay competition

Tamale, May 24, GNA – Three Senior High School (SHS) students in the Northern Region have taken the top spots in the 2023 national essay writing competition organised by the Bible Society of Ghana (BSG).

The first position was secured by Gladys Turomwine Dakura, an alumnus of the Tamale Girls SHS, who participated in the competition last year while in school.

The second and third positions were taken by Benedict Angsema from St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS and Benedicta Bayor from Ghana SHS respectively.

The first-place winner received a brand-new laptop for personal use and a printer for her school while the second and third place winners received a Samsung tablet and a Bible each.

The prizes were presented to them in Tamale at the launch of this year’s essay writing competition.

The top three winners excelled out of many applicants to the competition across SHSs in the country.

They were required to write a 1,000-word essay incorporating biblical references, of which they distinguished themselves in their submissions.

The BSG introduced the essay writing competition in 2016 with the objective to engage the youth with scripture towards enriching biblical literacy amongst them.

Reverend Charles Anaara, Northern Regional Manager, BSG, mentioned that it was the first time northern schools emerged winners in the competition since its inception.

He said it was also the first time a female won the overall title highlighting the need for all students to participate in the competition irrespective of gender and religious background.

Gladys Turomwine Dakura, the overall winner, speaking after receiving the award, gave thanks to God for her victory and expressed gratitude to her teachers for their nurturing support.

She further extended appreciation to the BSG for the recognition and encouraged other students to take such opportunities to shine.

Madam Christine Agana, Head of Tamale Guidance and Counseling Unit at the Tamale Girls SHS, on behalf of the Headmistress, congratulated all winners, particularly Gladys, who is the school’s alumnus.

She said Gladys’ academic abilities were undoubtable and indicated that she was a good student, who demonstrated excellence and resilience.

She urged students to utilise mobile phones for exceptional academic benefits.

Knox County students honored for winning statewide contest

K NOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett honored two Knox County students for winning the statewide 2023 civics essay contest.

The contest was open to public, private, charter or homeschoolers in Grades K through 12. Two essays from each school and each grade level were submitted featuring the theme ‘Why Civility Matters.’

“Congratulations to Jasmine Smith and Nancy Claire Johnson on their first and third-place finishes in the 2023 Civics Essay Contest,” said Secretary Hargett. “They demonstrate the future of our great state is bright.”

Smith, a student from Knoxville Montessori School, placed first in the sixth to eighth grade category. Johnson, a student from Farragut Intermediate School, placed third in the third through fifth grade category.

The students visited the state capitol on March 21 to receive their awards. Both also earned TNStars 529 College Savings Program scholarships.
