వరుస ఫ్లాపులతో సతమతమవుతున్న అక్షయ్ కుమార్ ఇప్పుడు రామ్ సేతు అనే అడ్వెంచర్ థ్రిల్లర్ తో ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చాడు. భారతీయ వారసత్వానికి సంబంధించిన కథాంశం తో ఈ చిత్రం రావడంతో సినీ అభిమానుల్లో ఈ సినిమా పై మంచి ఆసక్తి నెలకొంది. కాగా ఈరోజు రిలీజైన ఈ సినిమా ఎలా ఉందో సమీక్ష లోకి వెళ్లి చూద్దాం.

ఆర్యన్ కులశ్రేష్ఠ (అక్షయ్ కుమార్) ఒక ప్రఖ్యాత ఆర్కియాలజిస్ట్, ఆర్యన్ తన అద్భుతమైన వర్క్ కారణంగా పురావస్తు శాఖ జాయింట్ డైరెక్టర్‌గా పదోన్నతి పొందుతాడు. అయితే, ఇంద్రకాంత్ (నాజర్) రామసేతును నాశనం చేస్తూ.. సేతుసముద్రం పేరుతో ఒక ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ను నిర్మించాలని నిర్ణయించుకుంటాడు, అయితే అది జరగాలంటే, ఇంద్రకాంత్ రామసేతు సహజ నిర్మాణమని నిరూపించే శాస్త్రీయ అనుమతిని పొందాలి. అందువల్ల రామసేతు సహజంగా ఏర్పడిందా ?, లేదా మానవ నిర్మితమా అని నిర్ధారించే పనిని ఆర్యన్‌కు ఇస్తారు. మరీ ఆ తర్వాత జరిగిన నాటకీయ పరిణామాలు ఏమిటీ ?, ఈ క్ర‌మంలో ఆర్య‌న్ అండ్ అతని టీమ్ జర్నీ ఎలా సాగింది ?, చివరకు ఈ కథ ఎలా ముగిసింది ? అనేది మిగిలిన కథ.

ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్ :

రామసేతు ను శ్రీరాముడు స్వయంగా నిర్మించాడని విశ్వసిస్తారు. మరీ ఇలాంటి రామసేతు యొక్క వేల సంవత్సరాల పురాతన భారతీయ వారసత్వాన్ని అన్వేషించాలనే ఆలోచన నిజంగా గొప్పది. ఈ ఆలోచనతో వచ్చిన ఈ చిత్రంలో రామ సేతు గురించి చెప్పిన, చూపించిన కొన్ని అంశాలు చాలా బాగున్నాయి. ముఖ్యంగా ఈ పురాతన నిర్మాణం గురించి అనేక వాస్తవాలను ఈ చిత్రంలో చక్కగా ప్రస్తావించారు.

ఇక అక్షయ్ కుమార్ ఆర్కియాలజిస్ట్‌గా చాలా బాగా నటించాడు. పైగా తన గ్రేస్ తో అండ్ యాక్టింగ్ తో ఈ సినిమాను తన భుజాల పై నడిపించాడు అక్షయ్. తన పాత్రకు తగినట్టుగా ప్రొఫెషనల్‌గా నటించాలి, ఐతే అక్షయ్ తన పాత్రలో జీవించాడు. ఇతర కీలక పాత్రల్లో నటించిన జాక్వెలిన్ ఫెర్నాండెజ్ మరియు సత్యదేవ్ కూడా చాలా బాగా నటించారు. అలాగే అక్షయ్ రామసేతుపై నడవడం వంటి కొన్ని ఉత్తేజకరమైన సన్నివేశాలు ఉన్నాయి. అలాగే సెకండాఫ్‌లో ఆసక్తిని పెంచే కొన్ని ఛేజింగ్ సన్నివేశాలు కూడా బాగున్నాయి.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ చిత్ర దర్శకరచయితలు భారతీయ చలనచిత్రంలోనే టచ్ చేయని మనోహరమైన సబ్జెక్ట్‌ను తీసుకున్నా.. వారు ఆ పాయింట్ కి సమానంగా ఉత్తేజకరమైన కథనం రాయడంలో విజయం సాధించలేకపోయారు. దీనికి తోడు చాలా కల్పన జోడించబడినప్పటికీ, అది ఇప్పటి కాలానికి తగినట్టుగా లేదు. నిజానికి ఇలాంటి అడ్వెంచర్ థ్రిల్లర్.. ప్రేక్షకులను కట్టిపడేసాలా ఉండాలి. అంత అద్భుతమైన స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే ఉండాలి, ఈ సినిమాలో అది మిస్ అయింది.

అన్నిటికీ మించి ఈ సినిమా చాలా వరకు ఫ్లాట్‌గా సాగుతుంది. మొదటి అరగంట నిజం చెప్పాలంటే అంతకంటే ఎక్కువ సమయమే అసలు తీసుకున్న కథాంశానికి సంబంధించిన సీన్సే ఉండవు. అలాగే అక్షయ్ పాత్ర పరిచయం మరింత పదునైన రీతిలో జరిగి ఉండాల్సింది. సినిమాలో చాలా సన్నివేశాలు చాలా సింపుల్ గా వ్రాయబడ్డాయి.

అందుకే, ఈ సినిమా ప్రేక్షకులు ఆశించే థ్రిల్‌ లను ఇవ్వదు. ఈ సినిమాలో మరో పెద్ద లోపం VFX. విజువల్ ఎఫెక్ట్స్ చాలా ఎఫెక్టివ్ గా ఉండాలి. కానీ, ఈ సినిమాలో విజువల్ ఎఫెక్ట్స్ బాగాలేదు. అలాగే కొన్ని డైలాగ్స్ కూడా బాగాలేదు.

సాంకేతిక విభాగం :

ఇక సాంకేతిక నిపుణుల గురించి మాట్లాడుకుంటే.. ముందే చెప్పుకున్నట్లు స్రిప్ట్ లో తప్ప, టేకింగ్ అండ్ మేకింగ్ పరంగా సినిమా బాగుంది. ఈ సినిమాకు సంబంధించిన ప్రతి క్రాఫ్ట్ లో డెప్త్ ఉంది. అందుకే సాంకేతికంగా పెద్దగా ఎక్కడా లోపాలు కనిపించవు. కాకపోతే వీ.ఎఫ్.ఎక్స్ ఇంకా బెటర్ గా ఉండాల్సింది. అయితే, కెమెరా వర్క్ దగ్గర నుంచి నేపథ్య సంగీతం వరకూ ప్రతి క్రాఫ్ట్ వర్క్ చక్కగా కుదిరింది. చివరగా నిర్మాణ విలువలు కూడా బాగున్నాయి. కాకపోతే దర్శకుడు అభిషేక్ శర్మ కథనం పై ఎక్కువ శ్రద్ధ పెట్టి ఉండాల్సింది.

మొత్తమ్మీద, ఈ రామ్ సేతు ఒక అడ్వెంచర్ థ్రిల్లర్. అయితే, కొన్ని సన్నివేశాలలో మాత్రమే ఈ చిత్రం ఆకట్టుకునే విధంగా సాగింది. అలాగే అక్షయ్ కుమార్ మరియు ఇతర నటీనటుల నటన కూడా చాలా బాగుంది. కానీ చప్పగా సాగే కీలక సన్నివేశాలు మరియు గ్రిప్పింగ్ లేని సీన్స్, నీరసంగా సాగే స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే, బోరింగ్ ట్రీట్మెంట్ వంటి అంశాలు కారణంగా ఈ సినిమా ఆకట్టుకోలేక పోయింది.

అక్షయ్‌ కుమార్‌ హీరోగా నటించిన తాజా చిత్రం ‘రామ్‌ సేతు’. రామ్‌ సేతు విశిష్టత, దాన్ని రక్షించేందుకు ఆర్కియాలజిస్ట్ చేసే సాహసోపేతమైన జర్నీ ఆధారంగా ఈ చిత్రాన్ని తెరకెక్కించారు. ఇందులో యంగ్‌ అండ్‌ టాలెంట్‌ హీరో సత్యదేవ్‌ మరో కీలక పాత్ర పోషించారు. జాక్వెలిన్‌ ఫెర్నాండెజ్‌, నుస్రత్‌ బరూచా హీరోయిన్లుగా నటించారు. దీపావళి కానుకగా నేడు( అక్టోబర్‌ 25) ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చిన ఈ చిత్రం ఎలా ఉందో రివ్యూలో చూద్దాం. 

‘రామ్‌ సేతు’ కథేంటంటే.. ప్రముఖ వ్యాపారవేత్త ఇంద్రకాంత్ (నాజర్) రామసేతును నాశనం చేస్తూ.. సేతుసముద్రం పేరుతో ఒక ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ను నిర్మించాలని నిర్ణయించుకుంటాడు. ఇది జరగాలంటే భారతీయులు విశ్వసిస్తున్నట్లు  రామసేతును శ్రీరాముడు నిర్మించలేదని, అది సహజసిద్దంగా ఏర్పడిందని నిరూపించాలి. దీని కోసం  భారత్‌కు చెందిన ప్రఖ్యాత ఆర్కియాలజిస్ట్‌, పురావస్తు శాఖ జాయింట్ డైరెక్టర్‌ ఆర్యన్‌(అక్షయ్‌ కుమార్‌)తో ఓ రిపోర్ట్‌ని ఇప్పిస్తాడు. దీంతో అర్యన్‌కు లేనిపోని చిక్కులు వచ్చిపడతాయి. ఆయన ఇచ్చిన తప్పుడు రిపోర్ట్‌ కారణంగా ఉద్యోగం కూడా కోల్పోతాడు.

అయితే రామసేతు మీద మరింత పరిశోధన చేయమని, అన్ని విధాలుగా తోడుగా ఉంటానని ఇంద్రకాంత్‌ హామీ ఇవ్వడంతో ఆర్యన్‌ వారి టీమ్‌లో చేరిపోతాడు. రామసేతు మీద పూర్తిగా పరిశోధించేందుకు వెళ్లిన ఆర్యన్‌కు ఎదురైన సమస్యలు ఏంటి? ఆర్యన్‌ టీమ్‌ ఎందుకు శ్రీలంకకు వెళ్లాల్సి వచ్చింది? ఇంద్రకాంత్‌ వేసిన ప్లాన్‌ ఏంటి? శ్రీలంక ప్రయాణంలో ఆర్యన్‌ టీమ్‌కు ఏపీ(సత్యదేవ్‌)ఎలాంటి సహాయం చేశాడు. గైడ్‌గా చెప్పుకున్న ఏపీ ఎవరు? చివరకు ఆర్యన్‌ ‘రామసేతు’పై ఆధారలతో సహా ప్రభుత్వానికి ఇచ్చిన రిపోర్ట్‌ ఏంటి? అనేదే మిగతా కథ.

ఎలా ఉందంటే..  రామ్ సేతు ఒక అడ్వెంచర్‌ థ్రిల్లర్‌. రామసేతుని స్వయంగా శ్రీరాముడే నిర్మించాడని భారతీయులు విశ్వసిస్తారు. రామసేతు వేనుక ఉన్న రహస్యం ఏంటి? అనేది అందరికి ఆసక్తికరమైన అంశమే. ఇలాంటి ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్‌ పాయింట్‌ని తీసుకొని ‘రామ్‌ సేతు’ చిత్రాన్ని తెరకెక్కించాడు దర్శకుడు అభిషేక్‌ శర్మ. దర్శకుడు ఎంచుకున్న పాయింట్‌ బాగున్నప్పటికీ.. దానికి తగ్గట్టుగా కథనాన్ని నడిపించడంలో విఫలమయ్యాడు. వాస్తవ గాధకు కల్పనను జోడించి కథనాన్ని నడిపించాడు. ఇలాంటి చిత్రాలకు ప్రేక్షకులను కట్టిపడేసేలా స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే ఉండాలి. ఈ చిత్రంలో అది మిస్‌ అయింది. విజువల్ ఎఫెక్ట్స్ కూడా అంతగా ఆకట్టుకోవు. కానీ ప్లస్‌ ఏంటంటే.. రామసేతు నిర్మాణానికి సంబంధించిన అనేక వాస్తవాలను ఈ చిత్రంలో చూపించారు. 

శ్రీలకంలో రావణాసురుడి ఆనవాళ్లు ఉన్నాయని, రామాయణం ప్రకారం రావణుడు ఉన్నాడంటే.. రాముడు కూడా ఉన్నట్లే కదా అని ఈ చిత్రం సారాంశం. శ్రీలంకలో ఉన్న త్రికూటరపర్వతం, అశోకవనం, స్వర్ణలంక ఇలా అన్నింటిని ఈ చిత్రంలో చూపించారు. అయితే హీరో టీమ్‌ చేసే పరిశోధన మాత్రం ఆసక్తికరంగా సాగదు. పేలవమైన స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే, పసలేని డైలాగ్స్‌, చప్పగా సాగే కీలక సన్నివేశాలు సినిమా స్థాయిని తగ్గించాయి. నిర్మాణ విలువలు కూడా అంత ఉన్నతంగా ఉన్నట్లు కనిపించవు. 

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే..  ఆర్కియాలజిస్ట్‌ ఆర్యన్‌గా అక్షయ్‌ చక్కగా నటించాడు. తన పాత్రకు తగినట్టుగా ప్రొఫెషనల్‌గా తెరపై కనిపించాడు. గైడ్‌ ఏపీగా సత్యదేవ్‌ తనదైన నటనతో మెప్పించాడు. ఆయన ఎవరో అని రివీల్‌ చేసే సీన్‌ ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. ఆర్యన్‌ టీమ్‌మెంబర్‌గా జాక్వెలిన్ ఫెర్నాండెజ్ తన పాత్రకు న్యాయం చేసింది. నాజర్‌, నుస్రత్‌ బరూచాతో పాటు ఇతన నటీనటులు తమ పాత్రల పరిధిమేర నటించారు. డేనియల్ బి జార్జ్  సంగీతం బాగుంది. తనదైన బీజీఎంతో కొన్ని సీన్స్‌కి ప్రాణం పోశాడు.  సినిమాటోగ్రఫర్‌  అసీమ్‌ మిశ్రా. ఎడిటర్‌ రామేశ్వర్‌ ఎస్‌ భగత్‌ పనితీరు బాగుంది. నిర్మాణ విలువలు పేలవంగా ఉన్నాయి.

Ram Setu Movie Review: త‌మిళ‌నాడు నుండి శ్రీలంక వ‌ర‌కూ ఉన్న రామ‌సేతువును ఆ మ‌ధ్య నౌకామార్గం కోసం కూల్చివేయాల‌ని చూసిన‌ప్పుడు రామ‌భక్తులు నిర‌స‌న వ్య‌క్తం చేశారు. సుబ్ర‌హ్మ‌ణ్య స్వామి వంటి నాయ‌కులు కోర్టు త‌లుపు త‌ట్టారు. రామ‌సేతువును జాతీయ చారిత్ర‌క సంప‌ద‌గా కేంద్రం ప్ర‌కటించ‌డంతో దానిని తొల‌గించాల‌నే ప్ర‌య‌త్నానికి క‌ళ్ళెం ప‌డింది. అయితే రామ‌సేతువు స‌హ‌జంగా ఏర్ప‌డిందా? లేక శ్రీరాముడి కాలం నాటిదా? అనే ప్ర‌శ్న‌కు ఎవ‌రూ స‌మాధానం చెప్ప‌లేని ప‌రిస్థితి. ఈ నేప‌థ్యాన్ని తీసుకునే లైకా ప్రొడ‌క్ష‌న్ కంపెనీ జీ స్టూడియోస్ తో క‌లిసి ‘రామ్ సేతు’ మూవీని నిర్మించింది.

ఆర్య‌న్ కుల‌శ్ర‌ష్ట్ (అక్ష‌య్ కుమార్) ఆర్కియాల‌జిస్ట్. అత‌నో నాస్తికుడు, స‌త్యాన్ని మాత్ర‌మే న‌మ్ముతాడు. తాలిబ‌న్లు బుద్ధుడి విగ్ర‌హాల‌ను పేల్చేసిన చోటుకు భార‌త‌దేశం త‌ర‌ఫున వెళ్ళి, అక్క‌డ బుద్ధ‌విగ్ర‌హం తాలూకు అవ‌శేషాల‌ను వెలికి తీసి ఆ ఆప‌రేష‌న్ ను విజ‌య‌వంతంగా ముగించుకుని తిరిగి వ‌స్తాడు. అదే స‌మ‌యంలో త‌మిళ‌నాడులో రామసేతును తొల‌గించాల‌నే నిర్ణ‌యాన్ని వ్య‌తిరేకిస్తూ కొంద‌రు ఉద్య‌మం చేస్తుంటారు. రామ‌సేతును రాముడు నిర్మించ‌లేద‌ని నిరూపిస్తే, త‌మ పుష్ప‌క్ షిప్పింగ్ ప్రాజెక్ట్ కు కోట్ల రూపాయ‌ల ఆదాయం వ‌స్తుంద‌ని, దాని అధినేత ఇంద్ర‌కాంత్ (నాజ‌ర్) భావిస్తాడు. త‌న దుందుడుకు వైఖ‌రితో ఆర్కియాల‌జీ డిపార్ట్ మెంట్ నుండి స‌స్పెండ్ అయిన ఆర్య‌న్ ను ఈ విష‌యంలో పావుగా వాడుకోవాల‌నుకుంటాడు. రామ‌సేతు నిర్మాణం విష‌యంలో ప‌లు సందేహాలు ఉన్న‌ ఆర్య‌న్… ఇంద్ర‌కాంత్ తో చేతులు క‌లిపాడా? రామ‌సేతు అవ‌శేషాలను, నీటిలో తేలే రాతిని ప‌రిశీలించిన త‌ర్వాత అత‌ని అభిప్రాయంలో మార్పు వ‌చ్చిందా? రామ‌సేతుకు సంబంధించిన ఆధారాల కోసం శ్రీలంక వెళ్ళిన ఆర్య‌న్ కు అక్క‌డ ఎలాంటి అనుభవాలు ఎదుర‌య్యాయి? అనేదే మిగ‌తా క‌థ‌.

‘రామ్ సేతు’ సినిమా ప్రారంభమే ఓ ర‌కంగా బాలీవుడ్ లో చ‌ర్చ‌నీయాంశ‌మైంది. కేంద్రంలో ఉన్న బీజేపీ ప్ర‌భుత్వానికి, దాని భావ‌జాలానికి అనుకూలంగా ఈ సినిమా ఉంటుంద‌నే ప్ర‌చారం జ‌రిగింది. దానికి తోడు ఇటీవ‌ల వ‌చ్చిన ‘పృథ్వీరాజ్ చౌహాన్’ చిత్ర ద‌ర్శకుడు, ‘చాణ‌క్య’ టీవీ సీరియ‌ల్ ఫేమ్ చంద్ర ప్ర‌కాశ్ ద్వివేది దీనికి క్రియేటివ్ ప్రొడ్యూస‌ర్ గా ఉండేస‌రికి వారి వాద‌న‌కు బ‌లం చేకూరింది. దానికి త‌గ్గ‌ట్టుగానే ఈ సినిమా ఉంది. అక్ష‌య్ కుమార్ ను మొద‌ట నాస్తికుడిగా చూపించినా, అలాంటి వ్య‌క్తి స‌త్యాన్ని గ్ర‌హించి, రామ‌సేతు… రాముడి కాలం నాటిద‌ని గుర్తించి, కోర్టులో త‌న వాద‌న‌ను ఎలా వినిపించాడ‌నే దానికే ఇందులో ప్రాధాన్య‌మిచ్చారు. జ‌నాల‌కు చెప్పాల‌నుకున్న విష‌యం మీద ద‌ర్శ‌క నిర్మాత‌ల‌కు క్లారిటీ ఉన్నా, దాన్ని ఆస‌క్తిక‌రంగా అందించ‌డంలో మాత్రం విఫ‌లం అయ్యారు. సినిమా ప్రారంభం నుండి అదో డాక్యుమెంట‌రీలానే సాగింది. నాస్తికుడైన భ‌ర్త వ‌ల్ల స‌మాజంలో భార్య‌, కొడుకు ప‌డిన అవ‌మానాల‌ను హృద‌యానికి హ‌త్తుకునేలా ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు తీయ‌లేక‌పోయాడు. ఆర్కియాల‌జీ డిపార్ట్ మెంట్ నుండి స‌స్పెండ్ అయిన వ్య‌క్తి సినిమా క్ల‌యిమాక్స్ లో కోర్టు హాలులో ఏ హోదాతో త‌న వాద‌న‌ను వినిపించాడో మ‌న‌కు అర్థం కాదు! శ్రీలంక‌లో సివిల్ వార్ జ‌రుగుతోంది కాబ‌ట్టి, ఆ ప్రాంత ప‌రిధితో ఉన్న ఫ్లోటింగ్ రాక్ ను హీరో ముట్టుకోవ‌డ‌మే నేరంగా భావించి అత‌ని ప్రాజెక్ట్ మేనేజ‌ర్ ఆప‌రేష‌న్ ను అర్థంతరంగా ఆపేయ‌డానికీ కార‌ణం బోధ‌ప‌డ‌దు. ఇక త‌మ‌కే చెందిన ప్రొఫెస‌ర్ ను కాల్చేయ‌డం, హీరోయిన్ ను కిడ్నాప్ చేసి హీరోను త‌మ అధీనంలోకి తీసుకు రావ‌డం వంటి స‌న్నివేశాలు పాత చింత‌కాయ ప‌చ్చ‌డిని త‌ల‌పిస్తాయి.

రామ‌సేతు కాల నిర్ణ‌యం ప్ర‌ధానాంశంగా ఈ క‌థ సాగింది. దానికే దాదాపు రెండు గంట‌ల స‌మ‌యాన్ని ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు కేటాయించాడు. అయితే అదేమంత ఆస‌క్తిక‌రంగా అనిపించ‌దు. అండ‌ర్ వాట‌ర్ సీన్స్ ఏమంత గొప్ప‌గా లేవు. నిజానికి ఇలాంటి సినిమాల‌ను చూసిన‌ప్పుడు రోమాలు నిక్క‌బొడుచుకోవాలి. థియేట‌ర్ లో కూర్చున ప్రేక్ష‌కులు ఓ ర‌క‌మైన ఉద్వేగానికి, ఉద్విగ్న‌త‌కు గురికావాలి. కానీ అలాంటి స‌న్నివేశాల‌ను ద‌ర్శ‌కులు రాసుకోలేదు, చిత్రీక‌రించ‌లేదు. అయితే స‌త్య‌దేవ్ పాత్రను మాత్రం మిస్టీరియ‌స్ గా మ‌లిచి కొంత‌లో కొంత దానికి ప్ర‌త్యేక‌త ఆపాదించారు. అది గుడ్డిలో మెల్ల‌!

న‌టీన‌టుల విష‌యానికి వ‌స్తే… అక్ష‌య్ కుమార్ చాలా కూల్ గా ఈ పాత్ర‌ను చేశాడు. అత‌ని వేష‌ధార‌ణ విష‌యంలో డైరెక్ష‌న్ టీమ్ నిర్ల‌క్ష్యంగా వ్య‌వ‌హ‌రించిన విష‌యం అత‌ని గ‌డ్డం చూస్తే తెలిసిపోతుంది. ఇక అత‌ని భార్య‌గా న‌టించిన న‌స్ర‌త్ బ‌రూచా, ఎన్విరాన్మెంట‌లిస్ట్ గా న‌టించిన జాక్విలైన్ ఫెర్నాండేజ్ ల‌వి పెద్దంత ప్రాధాన్యం ఉన్న పాత్ర‌లు కాదు. హీరో ప‌క్క‌న ఎవ‌రో ఒక‌రు ఉండాలి కాబ‌ట్టి ఉన్న‌ట్టుగా ఉంది. షిప్పింగ్ ప్రాజెక్ట్ అధినేత‌గా నాజ‌ర్, అత‌ని స‌హాయ‌కుడిగా ప‌ర్వేష్ రానా బాగా న‌టించారు. స‌త్య‌దేవ్ ఎంట్రీ ఆల‌స్యంగా జ‌రిగినా… అక్క‌డి నుండి అత‌ను త‌న‌దైన మార్క్ ను క‌న‌బ‌రిచాడు. ఇటీవ‌లే వ‌చ్చిన ‘గాడ్ ఫాద‌ర్’ లో బ్యాడ్ గై గా న‌టించిన స‌త్య‌దేవ్ ఇందులో అందుకు పూర్తి భిన్న‌మైన పాత్ర‌ను పోషించాడు. ఉత్త‌రాదిన అత‌ని పాత్ర‌కు చ‌క్క‌ని గుర్తింపు ల‌భించే ఆస్కారం ఉంది. రామ‌సేతు నిర్మాణానికి శ్రీరాముడే కారణమని కోట్లాది మంది భార‌తీయులు న‌మ్ముతారు. వారి విశ్వాసాన్ని గౌర‌వించాల్సిన అవ‌స‌రం ప్ర‌తి ఒక్క‌రికీ ఉంది. దానిని ఓ సినిమాగా తీసి, ప్ర‌జ‌ల అభిప్రాయం ఇది అని చెప్పుకోవాల్సిన ప‌రిస్థితి రావ‌డం నిజానికి బాధాక‌రం. అయితే… ఇలాంటి సినిమాల‌ను ఇంకాస్తంత జాగ్ర‌త్త‌గా, బాధ్య‌త‌గా తీసి ఉంటే ద‌ర్శ‌క నిర్మాత ల‌క్ష్యం నెర‌వేరేది. లేదంటే… కాసుల కోసం ఇలాంటి సినిమా తీశార‌నే అపప్ర‌ద త‌ప్ప‌దు.

Akshay Kumar is churning out films left right and center. His latest release is Ram Setu which has been made on a budget of 150 crores. The film has Jacqueline Fernandez, Nusrat Baruchha and Telugu actor Satyadev in key roles. Abhishek Sharma has directed this film which has music by Daniel B George.

Indrakanth(Nassar) is the owner of the prestigious Pushpak Shipping Corp. He requests the government of India to dismantle the Ram Setu, as part of his Sethusamudram Project. This does not go well with many and a case is filed. The government of India brings in Aryan(Akshay Kumar), the Joint Director of the Archaeology department into action and asks him to submit a report to reveal whether the Ram Setu is man-made or is a natural formation. The rest of the story is about Aryan’s journey into the world of Ram Setu.

Performances

Akshay Kumar is seen in a new look and plays his age. Performance wise, he is sincere and does what is expected of him. In all the confrontation scenes, Akki does really well. Jacqueline Fernandez is decent in her supporting role. Telugu actor Satyadev is superb in his key role and is the surprise package. Nusrat Barucha was dull and was wasted in her role. Pravesh Rana is very good and Nasser was neat in a few scenes but also over acted for no reason.

Technicalities

Ram Setu does not have any songs but Daniel B George’s background score is amazing. It lifts the dull scenes and the score in the crunch scenes of Ram Setu was good. Aseem Mishra’s camera work is pretty good. But the main villain of the film is the VFX design. It is very dull and looks tacky in many areas. Even a good scene is falted by such poor visuals. Editing is just about okay but the beginning of the film should have been trimmed. Abhishek Sharma’s story is very promising and has all the episodes to make an engaging watch but the director’s poor narration spoils the day.

Ram Setu starts on an interesting note with the Afgan episode. But thereafter, things become slow with the entry of Nasser. The scenes which set up the entry of Akshay into the Ram Setu project are not that great and bore the audience. Only when Akshay takes up the massive project, the film starts getting interesting. Credit should go to the director Abhishek for showing the episodes of Aryan reaching the Ram Setu and then going on a trail to find Ravana’s Lanka in a splendid manner.

The subject matter is such that the audience gets curious to see what happens next. A scene where Akshay Kumar brings the sample of a rock is proof of the same. But it is the lack of grip in the screenplay which spoils the fun. The inexperience of Abhishek is clearly seen in several scenes and the tacky VFX also does not help matters much.

However, the pre-interval block and conflict point during this time keep the audience interested. But things fall apart post the interval. There is no grip in the proceedings and things happen so easily for Akshay that he finds out the truth of several hundred years just like that. These scenes are hard to believe.

Director Abhishek has done extensive research on the film and it is visible in key scenes. But when it comes to narrating it in a cinematic manner, he fails and gives us half baked proceedings. The film has interesting scenes but they do not thrill you completely. Ram Setu had a good plot to be a solid hit but it is marred by some lackluster narration and ends as a below par film from Akshay and his team.

What's Behind

Akshay Kumar who is the highest-paid actor in the country comes with numerous films every year. He is now coming to entertain movie lovers with his film Ram Setu on October 25 as a Diwali treat. Ram Setu OTT rights have been bagged by Amazon Prime and the screening will be done after the end of its theatrical run.Let us see whether Akshay Kumar set the screens on fire with Ram Setu.

Story Review

The story of Ram Setu is all about an archaeologist and his findings about the Ram Sethu bridge and its bearing on the Indian government and the general public. Archaeologist Dr.Aryan Khulshreshtra (Akshay Kumar) becomes popular in Pakistan and India after his findings in Bamiyan, Afghanistan. He is promoted to ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) and assigned the job of issuing an affidavit regarding Ram Sethu by the Indian Government to the Supreme Court.

But this lands him numerous problems and results in his suspension. Where this leads to and how it affects his relations with his wife Professor Gayatri (Nushrratt Bharuccha),  Dr.Sandra Rebello (Jacqueline Fernandez), AP (Satyadev Kancharana), Indrajit (Nassar), CEO of Pushkar Shipping Corporation form the crux of the story.

Artists, Technicians Review

Ram Sethu's story taken up by director Abhishek Sharma is an interesting one. However, Abhishek Sharma failed to narrate it in an exciting and interesting manner. He passes most of the first half, elevating the character of Akshay Kumar and the way his life gets impacted. Even that doesn't excite anyone and viewers wait eagerly for the thrilling things to unravel but they get disappointed as those things never come and the film ends on a sad note.

Abhishek Sharma's screenplay is not racy and the direction turned out to be unidimensional. Dialogues penned by Chandraprakash Diwedi of the TV serial Chankya fame are just routine. The cliched narration by Abhishek Sarma affected the film in a big way. All the actors seem to have passed through the motions. Abhishek Sharma failed to connect the emotional chords with the viewers with the story. Overall it turned out to be a disappointing affair for everyone.

Akshay Kumar tried to ride on the emotions of the majority of the Hindus with his film Ram Sethu releasing it on Diwali. Though the idea is right and Akshay Kumar tried his best to take the film to a new level, he failed miserably to save Ram Sethu. Akshay Kumar is ok in his role as the archaeologist but one gets a routine feeling as viewers have seen him do such roles earlier in his career. Satyadev Kancharana made a decent debut in Bollywood with his performance. Though his role looked silly and illogical to the core, he made the right impact with his expressions and mannerisms. Jacqueline Fernandez is ok in her role as the scientist while Nushrratt Bharuccha is ok in her role as Akshay's wife. Nassar is apt in the role of shipping corporation CEO. Others performed accordingly.

Daniel B George's music and background music failed to make an impact. They turned out to be below average. Aseem Mishra's cinematography is ok but VFX turned out to be extremely poor. Editing of Rameshwar S. Bhagat left so many drags that it ended up testing the patience of the viewers.

Rating Analysis

Altogether,  Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu has an interesting premise and there ends the matter. Director Abhishek Sharma came up with a ridiculous, childish, and outlandish script (if we call it a script) and even schoolgoers can come up with an interesting script. There are a lot of similarities between Ram Setu and Karthikeya 2 with the protagonist being an atheist and undergoing a change in his thought process with the proceedings. But Ram Setu failed to come up with interesting twists and turns and everything turned out to be artificial. The standard of VFX is below par that of even an amateur could have come with better output. The so-called 7000 years so-called floating rocks looked so modern and artificial and everyone is seen mocking the makers. Altogether Ram Sethu turns out to be mediocre. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 1.5 rating for Ram Setu.

Ram Setu movie review: Akshay Kumar film is enjoyable desi take on Indiana Jones

Ram setu movie review: akshay kumar stars in this enjoyable action adventure that manages to overcome its flaws because of a fun story and amazing visuals..

Ram Setu is a throwback to the Hollywood capers from a generation ago, when Harrison Ford or Nicholas Cage would go on a globetrotting adventure to uncover an ancient archaeological secret. Ram Setu takes that genre and blends it with Indian history, mythology, and socio-political commentary. The result is an enjoyable thrill-a-minute ride that is as fun as it is clichéd. But once you look past the flaws in logic, Ram Setu emerges as a fun popcorn adventure, the kind Bollywood hasn’t produced in quite a while. Ram Setu is about a veteran archaeologist Dr Aryan Kulshreshtha ( Akshay Kumar in long hair and a distinguished grey beard), a non-believer, who is tasked with disproving the reality of the Ram Setu, the bridge between India and Sri Lanka described in Valmiki’s Ramayana. However, he finds that the structure may actually be man-made, implying Lord Ram may be historical after all. The film is the story of how Dr Aryan dodges obstacles to find a lost trail in search for Ravana’s golden Lanka, helped by an environmentalist Dr Sandra ( Jacqueline Fernandez ) and a local Lankan guide AP (Satya Dev).

First things first, Ram Setu is enjoyable. It is in parts slick and in other parts, quite thrilling. The credit for that goes to a good story backed by some of the best background score used in a Hindi film this year. The VFX and CGI are questionable indeed, as the trailer had indicated. The scenes with the diving suit are cartoonish, almost. But what makes up for that is the stunning underwater sequences. The way director Abhishek Sharma has captured the beauty and grandeur of Ram Setu under the Indian Ocean is reminiscent of BBC Earth’s Blue Planet documentary.

Ram Setu works best, when the protagonists are out on the field, in the thick of the action. As Dr Aryan and his comrades search for the historical evidence for Lord Ram’s tale, the viewer is engaged. But it falters the moment there is a lull in the action. We suddenly begin to notice how people can barge into the Supreme Court of India with an ‘I object milord’ and not get arrested (or shot). We notice how Akshay’s character is the only one doing any deduction and thinking and everyone else is just along for the ride, hardly contributing much. And we also notice small continuity errors, like Akshay’s beard changing into a stubble and then back again in successive scenes.

Akshay Kumar is given a golden opportunity in this film. His character – Dr Aryan – is unlike anything he has done in the recent past. He is an atheist, who needs to be converted to the cause. He looks different, talks different, and is conceptualised in a much different manner than many of his recent roles. His recent filmography has often been criticised to contain many public service announcements disguised as motion pictures. Ram Setu gives him a chance to do something different.

Sadly, the women in the film haven’t even been given that freedom to do something differently, or do anything at all. Jacqueline’s character is reduced to looking good and uttering some scientific terms every 20 minutes or so to justify her place on the ‘expedition’. Nushrrat Bharuccha fares even worse because her character is reduced to the shrieking wife, hardly contributing anything to the plot or the other characters. It is a letdown for the actor after a rather strong outing in Janhit Mein Jaari just a few months ago.

The surprise package of the film for me was Pravesh Rana. As the muscle to Nasser’s corrupt businessman, he is the film’s primary antagonist. And he plays that role perfectly, bringing enough menace and charm in what is essentially a filler role. The other highlight of the film is Satya Dev. Even though his character AP is written as a stereotypical Lankan with the clichéd accent, he brings through his performance enough charm and humour for the role to stand out. Between this and GodFather, the actor seems to be having quite a good year.

In tone and tenor, Ram Setu is similar to a sleeper hit from earlier this year – Karthikeya 2. That one was about finding the historicity of Lord Krishna and this one is about Lord Ram. The action, pacing, and other elements are also similar. But the films differ in scale. Ram Setu, with its reported ₹ 150-crore budget towers above the Telugu film, which was made in ₹ 30 crore as per reports. But it is, perhaps, a good thing that Ram Setu reminds one of a successful film from the south this year.

Ram Setu takes the best from the Indiana Jones and National Treasure schools of storytelling and injects some desi action in it. Sadly, it also injects Bollywood’s melodrama. Once you manage to look past all that though, Ram Setu takes you on a fun ride.

హిందీ హీరో అక్షయ్‌ కుమార్‌(Akshay Kumar)కు ఈ ఏడాది ఏమాత్రం కలిసి రాలేదు. ఇప్పటి వరకూ ఆయన నాలుగు సినిమాలతో ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చారు. 'బచ్చన్‌ పాండే', 'సామ్రాట్‌ ప్రుథ్వీరాజ్‌', 'రక్షా బంధన్‌'... థియేటర్లలో హ్యాట్రిక్‌ ఫ్లాప్స్‌ అందుకున్నారు. ఆఖరికి ఓటీటీలో విడుదలైన 'కట్‌పుత్లీ' కూడా విమర్శలు ఎదుర్కొంది. ఈ తరుణంలో నేడు 'రామ్‌ సేతు' (Ram Setu Movie) థియేటర్లలోకి వచ్చింది. టాలీవుడ్‌ హీరో, ఇటీవల 'గాడ్‌ ఫాదర్‌'లో విలన్‌గా నటించిన సత్యదేవ్‌కు తొలి హిందీ చిత్రమిది. లంకలోని సీతమ్మను చేరుకోవడం కోసం వానర సైన్యంతో శ్రీరాముడు వారధిని నిర్మించారు. ఆ రామ్‌ సేతు నేపథ్యంలో రూపొందిన ఈ సినిమా ఎలా ఉంది? అక్షయ్‌కు విజయాన్ని అందించిందా (Ram Setu Review)? లేదా?

కథ (Ram Setu Movie Story) : ఆర్కియాలజిస్ట్ ఆర్యన్ (అక్షయ్ కుమార్) నాస్తికుడు. ప్రభుత్వ మద్ధతుతో ప్రారంభమైన ప్రాజెక్టులో భాగంగా రామ్ సేతును ధ్వంసం చేయాలని అనుకోవడం వివాదాస్పదం కావడం, శ్రీరాముని దైవంగా కొలిచే దేశంలో ప్రజల మనోభావాలు దెబ్బతినేలా సేతు సముద్రం ప్రాజెక్ట్ ఉండటంతో... రామ్ సేతు శ్రీరాముడు కట్టినదని కాదని, సముద్రంలో సహజసిద్ధంగా ఏర్పడినదని రిపోర్ట్ ఇస్తే ఎటువంటి వివాదం ఉండదని ఆ బాధ్యతను ఆర్యన్ చేతిలో పెడతారు. తన రిపోర్టులో రామ్ సేతు గురించి రాయడంతో పాటు రామాయణం ఒక మహా కావ్యమని, అది నిజమని చెప్పే ఆధారాలు ఏవీ లేవని ఆర్యన్ పేర్కొంటాడు. అది మరింత వివాదానికి దారి తీస్తుంది. ప్రభుత్వంపై విపరీతమైన ఒత్తిడి రావడంతో ఆర్యన్‌ను ఉద్యోగం నుంచి సస్పెండ్ చేస్తారు. ఇంటా బయటా ఆర్యన్ అంటే ప్రజలు మండిపడతారు. తన రిపోర్టు వల్ల మొదలైన వివాదానికి తాను ముగింపు పలకాలని ఆర్యన్ సంకల్పిస్తాడు. రామ్ సేతుపై అతడి పరిశోధనకు ఒక ప్రముఖ పారిశ్రామికవేత్త ఇంద్రకాంత్ (నాజర్) సహాయం చేస్తాడు. ఆయన ఎవరు? ఎందుకు సహాయ సహకారాలు అందిస్తున్నారు? నాస్తికుడైన ఆర్యన్, రామ్ సేతును కట్టింది రాముడేనని ఎలా నిర్ధారణకు వచ్చాడు? ఈ క్రమంలో అతడికి ఎన్ని ప్రమాదాలు ఎదురయ్యాయి? ఈ ప్రయాణంలో అతడికి సహాయం చేసిన ఏపీ (సత్యదేవ్) ఎవరు? అనేది వెండితెరపై చూడాలి.

విశ్లేషణ (Ram Setu Movie Review Telugu) : 'రామ్ సేతు'లో కొంత నిజం ఉంది, మరి కొంత ఫిక్షన్ ఉంది. నిజం ఏంటంటే... రామ్ సేతు! కోర్టులో దానిపై కేసు ఉండటం! ఇంకా తుది తీర్పు రాలేదు. ఫిక్షన్ ఏంటంటే... కేసుకు తీర్పు ఇవ్వడం! అందుకోసం ఒక ఆర్కియాలజిస్ట్ సాహసం చేసినట్లు చూపించడం!

'రామ్ సేతు' ప్రచార చిత్రాల్లో తీవ్రవాదుల్ని కూడా చూపించారు. అయితే... వాళ్ళు కనిపించేది సినిమా ప్రారంభంలో మాత్రమే! వాళ్ళకు, అసలు కథకు ఎటువంటి సంబంధం లేదు. ఇక, అసలు కథ విషయానికి వస్తే... హిందువుల మనోభావాల్ని గౌరవిస్తూ 'రామ్ సేతు' సహజ సిద్ధంగా ఏర్పడినది కాదని, సాక్షాత్ శ్రీరాముడు సంకల్పిత నిర్మాణమని సినిమాలో చెప్పారు. 

కథ ప్రారంభమైన పావుగంట తర్వాత క్లైమాక్స్ ఏంటో చాలా క్లియర్‌గా అర్థమవుతుంది. అప్పుడు కథనం ఎంత బలంగా ఉండాలి? ప్రతి సన్నివేశంలో ఎంత బలమైన సంభాషణలు, కంటెంట్ ఉండాలి? అటువంటివి ఎక్కడా ఉండవు. ఏదో ముందుకు వెళుతుందంటే వెళుతుందంతే! అసలు ఏమాత్రం ఆకట్టుకోని సన్నివేశాలు, కథనానికి తోడు నాసిరకం వీఎఫ్ఎక్స్, వింత నేపథ్యం ప్రేక్షకుల సహనాన్ని పరీక్షిస్తాయి. శ్రీరాముని సినిమాలో శివుడి నేపథ్యంలో గీతం ఏమిటో అర్థం కాదు.  

ఒకానొక దశలో సినిమాలో దర్శకుడు ఏం చెప్పాలని అనుకుంటున్నాడో అర్థం కాదు. ఇంటర్వెల్ ముందు, తర్వాత రెండు మూడు సీన్లు... క్లైమాక్స్ తర్వాత సత్యదేవ్ క్యారెక్టర్ రివీల్ చేసే సీన్ మినహా ఆయన ఆసక్తికరంగా తీసిన సన్నివేశాలను వేళ్ళ మీద లెక్క పెట్టవచ్చు. అక్షయ్ కుమార్ లాంటి స్టార్ హీరో సినిమాలో అటువంటి వీఎఫ్ఎక్స్ ఏంటో అర్థం కాదు. సినిమాను చుట్టేశారని అడుగడుగునా తెలుస్తుంది. ఇటువంటి సినిమాలు తీసేటప్పుడు అయితే సైన్స్... లేదంటే కామన్ పబ్లిక్ నమ్మకాలను ఫాలో కావాలి. ఈ సినిమాలో ఆ రెండూ ఫాలో కాలేదు. ఒక అడుగు అటు, మరో అడుగు ఇటు వేస్తూ ఎటెటో వెళ్ళారు. 

ఈ తరహా కథలను ఎలా ఆసక్తికరంగా చెప్పవచ్చు అనేదానికి రీసెంట్ 'కార్తికేయ 2' ఒక ఉదాహరణ. సినిమాలో హెలికాఫ్టర్ / ఛాపర్ క్రాష్ సీన్ ఒకటి ఉంది. అప్పుడు జాక్వలిన్, నుష్రత్ చేసిన సీన్ కంటే సీరియల్స్‌లో సీన్స్ చాలా బెటర్. మేకప్ పరంగా కూడా సీరియల్స్‌లో క్వాలిటీ బావుంటోంది. కథలో మంచి కంటెంట్ ఉంది. రైటింగ్, మేకింగ్‌లో దాన్ని బయటకు తీసుకు రావడంలో దర్శక రచయితలు ఫెయిల్ అయ్యారు.

నటీనటులు ఎలా చేశారు? : అక్షయ్ కుమార్ నటనలో సహజత్వం కరువైంది. ఏదో ఆర్టిఫీషియల్ ఎక్స్‌ప్రెషన్స్ ఇస్తున్నట్లు అనిపించింది. ఆయన లుక్ కంటిన్యూటీ కూడా మైంటైన్ చేయలేదు. పతాక సన్నివేశాల్లో, కోర్టులో నటన కొంతలో కొంత బెటర్. ఆయన భార్యగా నుష్రత్ చక్కగా నటించారు. కానీ, క్యారెక్టర్‌కు పెద్ద ఇంపార్టెన్స్ లేదు. జాక్వలిన్, జెన్నిఫర్, నాజర్ తదితరులు పాత్రలకు అనుగుణంగా నటించారు. 

'రామ్ సేతు'లో సర్‌ప్రైజ్ అంటే సత్యదేవ్. ఏపీ పాత్రలో అదరగొట్టారు. ఆయన బాడీ లాంగ్వేజ్, ఎక్స్‌ప్రెషన్స్, యాక్టింగ్... అన్నీ బావున్నాయి. క్లైమాక్స్‌లో ట్విస్ట్ వల్ల సత్యదేవ్ క్యారెక్టర్ బాగా ఎలివేట్ అవుతుంది.

ఫైనల్‌గా చెప్పేది ఏంటంటే? : సినిమాలో కంటెంట్ ఉండటం ఎంత ముఖ్యమో... కంటెంట్‌ను సరిగ్గా తెరకెక్కించే దర్శక, నిర్మాతలు కూడా అంతే ముఖ్యం. డైలీ సీరియల్స్ కంటే నాసిరకం వీఎఫ్ఎక్స్, స్క్రీన్ ప్లే, సీన్స్, రీ రికార్డింగ్‌తో సినిమాలు తీస్తే అక్షయ్ కుమార్‌కు ఎవరూ హిట్ ఇవ్వలేరు. రామ్ సేతును ధ్వంసం చేస్తానని అన్నప్పుడు ప్రజలు మనోభావాలు ఎంత దెబ్బ తిన్నాయో... ఇటువంటి సినిమా చూశాక ప్రేక్షకుల మనోభావాలు కూడా అంతే దెబ్బ తింటాయి. 'రామ్ సేతు' థియేటర్లకు దూరంగా ఉండటం మంచిది.

Ram Setu review: Akshay Kumar film is very Amar Chitra Katha-cum-Indiana Jones, minus the story-telling skills 

Ram setu movie review: akshay kumar's latest film is a pedestrian experience, cobbled together in an even more pedestrian fashion, which is interested only in hammering home its message..

Myth, religion, reality, belief: ‘ Ram Setu ’ takes all these elements, gives them a good shake, letting them settle where they will, and presents yet another Akshay Kumar film strictly embedded in the times we live in. Dr Aryan Kulshrestha (Kumar) is an archeologist who worships evidence-based science, and has no time for anyone, including his dear spouse ( Nushrratt Bharuccha ), a professor of literature, who is arrayed on the side of ‘vishwaas’ or ‘aastha’.

The film’s consultant, Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, directed Akshay in the recent ‘ Samrat Prithviraj ’, another ‘historical’, which is in line with the Mera Bharat Always Mahaan mission. In this one, the mythical waterway between India and Sri Lanka, re-named Adam’s Bridge by the British who wanted to ‘erase’ India’s history, is Ram Setu. The internationally renowned, globe-trotting Aryan, who has been heartbroken by the destruction of the Bamyan Budhhas by the Taliban (he just happens to be on site in Afghanistan when the mayhem takes place, see), is lured on-board the Ram Setu project by a profiteering magnate (Nassar). Aryan has atheist, secular credentials, which includes, imagine, a Pakistani colleague, so who better than him (Aryan) to convince the unbelievers that Ram Setu, was in fact, ‘constructed’ during the ‘period’ of Lord Rama?

It’s all very Amar Chitra Katha-cum-‘Indian Jones’ without the story-telling skills. The screenplay wanders haphazardly over land, mountain and ocean, in order to fulfil its quest: finding the requisite ‘proof’, which includes, believe it or faint, the Sanjeevani booti. Not satisfied with setting up the conflict, which plays out in the Supreme Court on the one hand, and on the high seas, and on the picturesque island of Sri Lanka on the other, the plot gives us bad guys who want the destruction of the Setu, good guy A P (Satya Dev) who turns up out of the blue to help Aryan and his colleagues, scientist Sandra Ribello ( Jacqueline Fernandez ) and a white person (Piccinato) who is swiftly dispensed with. As chief antagonist, Nassar frowns a lot, and his main man (Parvesh Rana) chases everyone with a gun.

There are also references to the civil war in Lanka, and Jaffna being a hot spot. But all these mentions of current affairs are window dressing, merely. The intention of the film is laid out for everyone to see: the conversion of the secular, science-minded Aryan into a believer who convinces the court of the weight of that belief, which becomes the only truth.

The emergence of Aryan, a sacred stone on his shoulder, from the ocean, reminiscent of a remarkably similar scene filmed on Prabhas at the beginning of ‘Bahubali’, is designed to silence the naysayers. Ditto for when he walks, like another divine figure, on water. But the proceedings are not interested in drawing our attention to any diversity. Don’t be silly.

Actually, done better, this could have been a film which posits these opposing view-points, giving each the pulpit. But this is nothing but a pedestrian film, cobbled together in an even more pedestrian fashion, which is interested only in hammering home its message. It is also the kind of film in which a female scientist, having been dunked in sea water, and having emerged in a cave, gives off a very Raiders Of The Lost Ark feel. With her pink lipstick intact.

Akshay Kumar’s latest film “Ram Sethu” is reeling from a series of flops. There are huge expectations on this film, which is shot in the backdrop of Rama Setu, which is said to have been built by Lord Rama. That’s why the team released this film in the form of translation in all Indian languages along with Hindi. It is remarkable that Telugu actor Satyadev is playing a key role in this film.

Story : Due to the Ram Setu between India and Sri Lanka, thousands of crores of rupees are being lost to the shipping companies, and if the setu is demolished, the companies will not only benefit from it, but also the travel distance will be reduced by the Indian government. The Government of India assigns the responsibility of studying the history of Rama Setu to the fullest extent and submitting the report to the archaeologist Dr. Aryan (Akshay Kumar).

His companions are Sandra (Jacqueline). While researching this matter along with Anjaniputra (Satyadev), Aryan comes to know some unbelievable truths.

What are the difficulties faced by Aryan in this research? How did he overcome them? How did the history of “Rama Sethu” prove the existence of Rama? is the plot of “Ram Sethu”.

Performance of actors : Akshay Kumar looked a bit new in terms of looks but.. in terms of acting, mannerisms & body language he could not show any newness. Therefore, the Aryan character played by him is not seen anywhere new. Although Jacqueline got more screen time, she could not entertain as an actress. Satyadev, however, was impressed with his own style of acting. As Anjani’s son, he lived in the role.

The elevation given to his character is also good. It is no exaggeration to say that Satyadev is the only character that the audience can enjoy throughout the film. Technical Performance:  Director Abhishek Sharma has not had the experience of making comedy & satire films so far in the case of “Ram Sethu”. Abhishek failed in everything from story-telling to CG work. Abhishek gave the magical touch that Anjaneyu helped them to run the story so smoothly.. It is noteworthy that no minimum level of research was done in terms of art work & set work. When showing the 7000 years old existence and legend of Rama on the screen, they should have done a good research about the history. It is not good to make such kind of films with a few stories.

The grueling screenplay that a treasure hunt story should have but the CG work is absent in “Ram Sethu”. Not a single frame is seen as if the budget of 100s of crores has been put. It must be said that the production & art departments have failed miserably in this regard. Analysis:  If you want to make a film about an epic… the greatness of that epic should be explained and elevated first. “Ram Sethu” made without any of these remains a below average movie due to poor story-narrative-CG work. Although Satyadev did not make a hit with his Bollywood debut, he earned good marks as an actor.
