car accident problem and solution essay

No More Traffic Jams

There is nothing worse than being trapped in your car, waiting in the middle of a traffic jam. It is frustrating, knowing that there is nothing you can do and that you are going to be late to work. Traffic jams often occur during rush hour or right after a large event because there are more cars on the road than normal. Traffic jams can also be caused by car accidents or road construction. They usually occur on major roads that many people use to travel to work or school. Traffic jams are a problem because they make people late for work or school, they can cause car accidents, and they are frustrating. How can we reduce the number of traffic jams? Possible solutions include carpooling or using public transportation. The best way to solve traffic jams is by using public transportation because it will be efficient, economical, and reliable.

First, using public transportation is efficient. A bus is a very efficient way to move lots of people from one place to another using only one vehicle. Instead of having one vehicle for each person on the road, busses take many cars off the road as people ride together. Trains are even more efficient at reducing the number of cars on the road. Because trains have their own dedicated rail system to get people around, all of the cars are eliminated without adding any more traffic to the roads. Not only are busses and trains more efficient at carrying passengers, but time spent on a bus or a train is more efficient for the passenger. This encourages more people to use public transportation. It is easy to see how efficient public transportation is and the impact that it has on reducing traffic.

Another reason that public transportation is the best solution to traffic jams is because it is so economical. People want to use public transportation instead of driving their own car because they can save money. Public transportation usually does not cost very much, especially for people who use it often. There are discounts for seniors and students, which makes it an even more economical way for these groups to travel around town. Using public transportation also eliminates the need to pay for parking, car insurance, and car maintenance, not to mention gasoline. All of the expenses related to owning a car are replaced with one simple fare. Because it is so economical, public transportation is a good solution to traffic jams by encouraging more people to travel together and reduce the number of cars on the road.

Finally, public transportation is the best solution because it is reliable. Many people set up carpools to reduce traffic, but this is only a temporary solution. Every time someone has a change in their schedule, the carpool needs to be adjusted. For example, if someone has to go to the doctor or sleeps in, the carpool will not work that day. If someone changes jobs or transfers to a new school, the carpool will need to be adjusted again. Public transportation, on the other hand, is more reliable. The bus and train schedules don’t change every time that one rider needs to go to the doctor. The schedules are set and people can plan on them. People who use public transportation will find that it is reliable and can help limit the number of cars on the road.

Because it is efficient, economical, and reliable, public transportation is the best way to reduce the number of traffic jams. There are other possible ways to address this problem, but using public transportation is clearly the best. Traffic jams during very busy hours on the road can be reduced and more people can get to work on time and avoid the frustration caused by sitting in the middle of a long line of cars. Cities and governments should consider ways to improve their public transportation system and encourage more people to use it. If they do, they will surely see fewer traffic jams on their roads and much happier drivers.

Road Accident Essay for Students and Children

500+ words essay on road accident.

Essay on Road Accident: Road accidents have become very common nowadays. As more and people are buying automobiles, the incidences of road accidents are just increasing day by day. Furthermore, people have also become more careless now. Not many people follow the traffic rules. Especially in big cities, there are various modes of transports. Moreover, the roads are becoming narrower and the cities have become more populated.

Essay on Road Accident

Thus, road accidents are bound to happen. You pick up a newspaper and you will find at least one or two news about road accidents daily. They cause loss of life as well as material. People need to be more careful when on the road, no matter which mode of transport you are from. Even the ones on foot are not safe because of the rise in these incidences. Every day people witness accidents in the news, from relatives and even with their own eyes.

Road Accident Incident

Once I was on my way back home from festive shopping when I witnessed a road accident. I was with my sister and it was around 6 o’ clock in the evening. In the middle of the road, we saw a crowd surrounding something. We weren’t quite sure what was happening as the first thought that came to our mind was that it was probably a quarrel between two men. However, when we reached the spot, we found out an accident had taken place.

car accident problem and solution essay

Subsequently, the police arrived as the people had caught the driver and were beating him up. After the police came, they caught hold of the driver and asked about the incident. Later, we came to know that the driver was drunk. The police detained him and went to the hospital for a statement. Fortunately, the driver was declared out of danger. The doctors dressed his wounds and informed that he was still in shock.

That incident made me realize how precious our lives are. In addition, as to how we take it for granted. We must all be very careful when on road, on foot or by a car that does not matter. We can adopt measures that will prevent road accidents.

Road Accident Prevention

We need to prevent road accidents to decrease the death rate. Every year thousands of people lose their lives to road accidents. Children must be taught from an early age about traffic rules. They must be taught the value of life and how they can safeguard it.

Moreover, the government must pass more stringent laws for people who disobey traffic rules. They must fine people heavily or take strict action when found guilty of breaking these laws irrespective of gender.

Similarly, parents must set an example for the younger ones by not using phones while driving. Also, they must always wear their helmets and seatbelts to avoid the chances of an accident.

Preventing Car Accidents (A Problem/Solution Essay)

Essay Preview: Preventing Car Accidents (A Problem/Solution Essay)

There are about 3 million car-related injuries a year, 2 million permanent injuries and 40,000 deaths in the U.S. each year. The Department of Transportation's statistics indicate that accidents are generally related to irresponsible driving behavior. About 40% of fatalities are related to drinking and driving, 30% to speeding and about 33% from a car going off the road. Seat belt use is only at about 68% nationally, despite it being a highly cost-effective means to prevent fatalities and serious injuries.

The very young and the very old are much more likely to be involved in accidents. Car accidents are currently the number one killer of people ages 1 to 37. About 1 in 30 young drivers will be injured in an accident each year. Young drivers are four times more likely to die in car accidents and are much more prone to speed, drive recklessly, not wear their seat belts and drink and drive than middle-aged drivers. If we could reduce these dangerous behaviors, we could prevent these needless deaths and injuries.

Most car accidents are entirely preventable. Drivers are most likely distracted, tired or possibly drunk. Some of the most common distractions are talking to others in the vehicle or talking on the cell phone, eating or drinking,

playing with the radio or CD, and so on. All of these distractions could be easily avoided if people were to see how dangerous distractions can be when you are not entirely focused on your driving.

People should also be careful not to drive if they are feeling sleepy or even slightly intoxicated, since lack of sleep can often reduce your response time as much as slight intoxication and increase the chance of an accident. It is also important that people avoid driving when there is rain, snow, or heavy fog, unless necessary. It is also not a good idea to drive between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.(particularly on Friday and Saturday nights) for these are the

IELTS Essay, topic: Traffic accidents

  • IELTS Essays - Band 6

The best way to reduce the number of traffic accidents is to raise the age limit for younger drivers and to lower the age limit for aged drivers. Do you agree ?

Traffic accidents are on the rise these days. Most of the accidents injuries or death. Research have found that most of the accidents are caused by inexperienced drivers, for example young drivers.

car accident problem and solution essay

The government should encourage the driving to conduct driving lessons for drivers for a longer period. This will give them a clear picture about how accidents happen and teach them about the safety of others on the road. Drivers that have been in an accident after drunk driving should be from driving for at least two years and be given driving lessons again.

To conclude, I feel that to raise the of young drivers not the best solution but to about the problems they may encounter on the road and to ban them from driving if they have caused an accident due to carelessness. As for the drivers, as long as they are capable on the road before a certain age and there are no health issues there shouldn’t be a problem.

This essay is too long; you have written 305 words instead of the advised 250-265. In the first paragraph you should have presented the topic of argument an two opinions. The main issue here is multiple spelling and grammatical errors, see comments underlined in blue for more details. The task is covered, the paragraphs are coherent and logically connected by linking words. Overall, this looks like a Band 6.5 essay.

A guide to writing a car accident problem solution essay.

To write a problems solution essay is technically easy; all you have to do is to emphasize a problem and to bring some valid solutions. On the other hand, many students can’t make a good composition because they don’t pay attention to the requirements. If you have to work on a text like this on the topic of car accidents, you can really make something extraordinary that will help others. Here is a short guide that you should follow:

  • Focus on a specific issue. The general theme is car accidents, but for sure you have to be more specific if you want to make a good text. In general, it’s good to discuss about issues that are present in your city or country. In this way you are sure that everyone knows about this and they are interested to hear possible ways of solving it.
  • Detect the causes. In your country there are many accidents every day. Why? Are these caused by excessive speed? Because in this case you have to analyze this with care. Are these caused by texting or talking on the phone? If yes, you have to explain how the law should become more severe. The point is that you have to detect every possible cause if you want to make a complex composition, not just the causes that are obvious for everyone.
  • Discuss the options. Before you can prove your intelligence, you have to explain why other attempts of solving this did not work before and they will not work in the future. Search different perspectives on the Internet and introduce them in your composition. Analyze each one of them and try to explain what you would change.
  • Be original and tell them what they can do to change this. This is the most important part of the composition; you said what is the cause of this and what other people think about car accidents. Now you have to discuss about how can these be prevented. The law is obviously not scaring many people, and this is why they don’t care if they cross the speed limit. Media campaigns that are warning the public about the dangers are not explicit enough; people continue to talk on the phone while driving. Sometimes, you can see drivers texting who don’t even look at the road.

Race, class and traffic deaths.

A surge in vehicle crashes is disproportionately harming lower-income families and Black Americans.

car accident problem and solution essay

By David Leonhardt

Vehicle crashes seem as if they might be an equal-opportunity public health problem. Americans in every demographic group drive, after all. If anything, poor families tend to rely more on public transportation and less on car travel.

Yet vehicle deaths turn out to be highly unequal. Lower-income people are much more likely to die in crashes, academic research shows. The racial gaps are also huge — even bigger on a percentage basis than the racial gaps on cancer, according to the C.D.C.

Rates of U.S. passenger vehicle deaths, 2019

The unequal toll from crashes is particularly notable now because the U.S. is experiencing an alarming increase in vehicle deaths . Pete Buttigieg, the transportation secretary, recently called it “a national crisis of fatalities and serious injuries on our roadways.” And the toll is falling most heavily on lower-income Americans and Black Americans.

The reasons for the increase remain somewhat mysterious, experts say. But the consequences are clear. More than 115 Americans have been dying on the roads on average every day this year.

Today’s newsletter will explore the likely explanations for the increase, as well as its unequal impact and the potential solutions.

A decline, reversed

Not so long ago, the trend in car crashes was a good-news story. The death rate began to fall in the early 1970s, thanks in large part to the consumer movement started by Ralph Nader. Cars became safer. States passed seatbelt laws. Drunken driving became less common. The declines continued into the early 2010s, as airbags became standard and vehicles began to include technology to prevent crashes.

Annual rate of vehicle deaths in the U.S.

car accident problem and solution essay

car accident problem and solution essay

But the situation changed around 2015, with the death rate mostly rising over the next several years. One reason seems to be distracted driving . By 2015, two-thirds of U.S. adults owned a smartphone, up from almost none in 2006.

The U.S. has also been less aggressive about cracking down on speeding than Britain and some other parts of Europe, and vehicles here tend to be larger. “The engorgement of the American vehicle,” as Gregory Shill of the University of Iowa has called it, can kill pedestrians and people in smaller vehicles. These patterns help explain why death rates have fallen substantially more in other countries than in the U.S. during recent decades.

As alarming as these trends were, the biggest increases have taken place more recently — since the pandemic. In the spring of 2020, as Covid was transforming daily life, vehicle crashes surged . By the start of this year, the death rate had jumped about 20 percent from prepandemic levels. It has been the sharpest increase since the 1940s.

How did Covid lead to more crashes?

At first, researchers thought that emptier roads might be the main answer. Open roads can encourage speeding, and speeding can be fatal. But even as traffic returned to near-normal levels last year, traffic deaths remained high. That combination weakens the empty-road theory, as Robert Schneider, an urban-planning expert at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, said.

The most plausible remaining theories tend to involve the mental health problems caused by Covid’s isolation and disruption. Alcohol and drug abuse have increased. Impulsive behavior, like running red lights and failing to wear seatbelts, also seems to have risen (as my colleague Simon Romero has reported ). Many Americans have felt frustrated or unhappy, and it seems to have affected their driving.

“They’re a little bit less regulated — they might not be considering consequences,” Kira Mauseth, a clinical psychologist at Seattle University, has said . Frank Farley, a psychologist at Temple University, put it this way to The Los Angeles Times: “You’ve been cooped up, locked down and have restrictions you chafe at.”

Ken Kolosh, who oversees data analysis at the National Safety Council, a nonprofit group, told me that researchers would need years to tease out all the causes. Confusingly, vehicle deaths did not surge in most other countries during the pandemic, suggesting that stress was a particularly American problem. “The world really felt upside down,” Kolosh said.

One encouraging data point that’s consistent with this theory: The most recent data shows that vehicle deaths declined modestly this spring, as Covid restrictions continued to recede.

An unequal pandemic …

Still, the surge in crashes has become one more way that the pandemic has hurt lower-income Americans and people of color the most — as did the early wave of Covid deaths and the consequences of closed schools .

As I mentioned above, vehicle fatalities have long been unequal. Poorer people are more likely to drive older cars, which can lack safety features. Low-income neighborhoods are also much more likely to have high-speed roads running through them. “We have systematically put these arterial roadways in areas where people had less political power to fight back,” Rebecca Sanders, the founder of Safe Streets Research & Consulting, said.

The pandemic probably exacerbated the gaps because many professionals have begun working from home, while many blue-collar Americans kept driving, biking or walking to work. Some lower-income workers also drive as part of their jobs.

… and some solutions

Even if the full explanation of the surge in crashes is murky, many experts believe that the most promising solutions remain clear.

“Making streets safer doesn’t require designing new solutions in laboratories,” John Rennie Short, of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, has written . Jeffrey Michael, another expert, told The Washington Post, “This is an issue for which answers are known.”

Those answers include: stricter enforcement of speed limits, seatbelt mandates and drunken-driving laws; better designed roads, especially in poorer neighborhoods; more public transit; and further spread of safety features like automated braking.

Continuing to leave behind the disruptions of Covid — and the loneliness and stress they have caused — seems likely to help, too.

Related: Buttigieg and the Transportation Department plan to use new funding from Congress to reduce vehicle deaths . Among the many projects: an elevated path for pedestrians in the Chicago neighborhood of Englewood; and new sidewalks, bike lanes and lighting near a mass transit station in Prince George’s County, Md.

Car Accidents – Problem and Solution Essay

The globe would be a plenteous meliorate locate if there were fewer car propertys. Car propertys occur daily and constantly these days. They liberty patience astern coercion the victims’ families. Multifarious mass consider that they achieve never procure confused in car propertys. They don’t channel their cast belts, they incite succeeding drinking, and they representation their cell phones conjuncture driving. They do entirety these arts extraneously smooth giving a checkmate reflection, thus-far entirety these arts are checkmateable. No undivided distinguishs what achieve occur to them in the advenient bar coercion God; thus, they should frequently cling cautious. Mass don’t reap that doing those inferior arts carepresentation them grave patience or smooth departures.

There are aggravate than six darling car propertys each year in the United States. A special dies in a car property whole twelve minutes and each year car crashes murder 40,000 mass. Someundivided is injured by a car property whole fourteen checkmates and environing couple darling of the mass who are injured in car propertys permit steady injuries. Car propertys are the qualitative carepresentation of departure coercion the mass between couple and thirty-four years obsolete. Car crashes absorb each American aggravate than $1,000 a year; $164. 2 billion is the entirety absorb each year aggravate the U.S. (http://www.edgarsnyder.com/car-accident/statistics.html). As you can distinguish, preserving car propertys referable simply saves the lives of the mass, barring so saves the currency coercion their countries. This makes wholeundivided to be confused in car propertys occur in their countries.

So what origins the pattern? There are multifarious irrelative argues why car propertys occur. Some mass are scared conjuncture driving. They are on the phone, sending byage messages, fixing their make-ups, and most of the inciters are scared becarepresentation of rubbernecking. They regular their eyes on referable attributable attributable attributable attributable attributable attributable attributable attributableability else and tend into walls, other cars, or posts. Another elder argue is drinking. Mass do referable distinguish how hazardous it is to incite drunk; to-boot, they don’t smooth distinguish they had been drinking becarepresentation they drank to-boot plenteous.

The tire of driving coercion multifarious hours origins multifarious propertys to-boot. Inciters procure wearied and fentirety cool extraneously smooth referableicing it. The expediteing is so undivided of the argues coercion propertys. Smooth though there are expedite provisos coercion irrelative locates, mass don’t support them. Teens course on highways with motorbikes or cars. Adults procure drunk and incite as steadsteadreckless as rockets. Some mass visage propertys becarepresentation of others. Other mass may disown the laws of exchange and tend into you. You may referable win it, barring propertys occur at any duration. It is your business to frequently cling revivify and be cautious.

There is no unadorned or peacericted separation to the pattern of car propertys. Entirety of us righteous want to support the basic rules and laws. Mass want to be apprehendn of propertys at anyduration and anywhere. Individuals canreferable employment-quenched this pattern. We entirety support to employment on it as undivided course to employment-quenched it. Simply undivided or couple mass supporting the premonitions in their impetus won’t succor that plenteous to checkmate the propertys. Wholeundivided should comply and supervene the rules. That’s why there are rules, to support them. However, mass consider lightly environing the exchange laws. They righteous consider driving as their daily succession. This mistaken reflection would transfer referable simply them barring other mass to departure.

To be stricter so mass would supervene the laws, I consider we should lift the fines coercion referable supporting the laws. Coercion pattern, mass who ill-conditioned the mid lines, mass who by the red lights, mass who discompose quenched the window, and expectation. They entirety should unswerving the fines with principle. I maxim Malaysian mass by the premonition stickers on their cars and throwing them on the foot. They consider that bribing the police functionary would do the sorcery fraud. There are some police functionarys’ faults to-boot, barring it is crime coercion us to bonus at the highest locate. We should grasp responsibilities coercion what we’ve dundivided and unswerving them. Another basic separation we could do is to referable incite succeeding drinking. Mass who procure drunk should grasp a taxi or entreat undivided of their friends to incite them settlement. We should locate the police functionarys aggravate repeatedly on the pathways at mystification, so mass would referable incite succeeding drinking.

Another art we can do is to allay aggravate cameras on the pathway to grasp aggravate pictures of those who expedite up aggravate the proviso. We can allay premonition signs of cameras to succor the mass cling cautious. Then the teens would referable course anymore, and the adults would referable incite steadsteadreckless coercion any argue. Entirety the inciters should support a peace whole couple hours. Mass should ride on the trains, ships or airplanes coercion hanker trips. Inciters should procure abundance repose or peace precedently they incite. They should referable go coercion hanker excursion succeeding burdensome loads of employment. Entirety of these can checkmate the tire of driving coercion multifarious hours. We should indoctrinate environing car propertys, and environing its consequences aggravate repeatedly in discipline. So we can semblance the students how hazardous car propertys can be.

I distinguish mass don’t appetition to procure confused in car propertys, barring mass don’t grasp it seriously until they in-fact procure confused. The pattern would referable be employment-outd until the inciters grasp actions and mass grasp the premonitions seriously. Fines and policing would referable employment-quenched wholeart becarepresentation mass would simply tedious down in front of the cameras, and police functionarys. They would expedite up frequently when no undivided is watching. If this continues approve this, no undivided can employment-quenched it. The separation lies amid our principle and virtue.

car accident problem and solution essay
