వ‌ రుస విజ‌యాల‌తో జోరు ప్రదర్శిస్తున్న క‌థానాయ‌కుడు ర‌వితేజ‌ (Ravi teja). ‘ధ‌మాకా’, ‘వాల్తేరు వీర‌య్య’ త‌ర్వాత ర‌వితేజ చేసిన మ‌రో చిత్రం ‘రావ‌ణాసుర‌’. ఐదుగురు కథానాయిక‌లు... నెగిటివ్ టైటిల్‌తో ఆస‌క్తిని రేకెత్తించింది. ప్రచార చిత్రాలు ప్రేక్షకుల్లో మ‌రిన్ని  అంచ‌నాల్ని పెంచాయి. మ‌రి సినిమా ఎలా ఉంది? క‌థేంటంటే: ర‌వీంద్ర అలియాస్ ర‌వి (ర‌వితేజ) ఓ జూనియ‌ర్ లాయ‌ర్‌. క్రిమిన‌ల్ లాయ‌ర్‌గా పేరు తెచ్చుకున్న క‌న‌క మహాల‌క్ష్మి (ఫ‌రియా అబ్దుల్లా) దగ్గర ప‌నిచేస్తుంటాడు. హారిక (మేఘ ఆకాష్‌) త‌న తండ్రిపై ప‌డిన ఓ హ‌త్య కేసుని వాదించాల‌ని కోరేందుకు క‌న‌క మ‌హాల‌క్ష్మి దగ్గరికి వ‌స్తుంది. ఆమె ససేమిరా ఒప్పుకోన‌ని చెబుతుంది. కానీ, చూడ‌గానే ఆమె అందానికి ఫిదా అయిన ర‌వి... ఎలాగైనా క‌న‌క మహాల‌క్ష్మిని ఒప్పిస్తాన‌ని హారికకి మాట ఇచ్చి రంగంలోకి దిగుతాడు. ఆ కేసు ఒప్పుకొన్నాక ఏం జ‌రిగింది? ఈ కేసుని ఎవ‌రు గెలిచారు? (Ravanasura review) ఇంత‌కీ ఆ హ‌త్య చేసిందెవ‌రనేది తెలియాలంటే సినిమా చూడాల్సిందే!

ఎలా ఉందంటే: నేర నేప‌థ్యంతో కూడిన థ్రిల్లర్‌ ఇది. ఒక‌ప్పుడు ఇలాంటి క‌థ‌లు ప‌రిమిత వ్యయంతో కూడిన సినిమాల్లోనే క‌నిపించేవి. కానీ, ఇప్పుడు వాటి రేంజ్ పెరిగింది. మాస్ హీరోలు కూడా ఇలాంటి క‌థ‌లు చేయ‌డంపై ఆస‌క్తి చూపిస్తున్నారు. ర‌వితేజ ఇలాంటి ఓ నెగిటివ్ టైటిల్‌తోనూ, వ్యతిరేక ఛాయ‌ల‌తో కూడిన ఈ  పాత్రతో సినిమా చేయ‌డమే అంద‌రిలోనూ ఆస‌క్తిని పెంచింది. ఆ ఆస‌క్తికి తగ్గట్టుగానే సినిమా ప్రారంభం అవుతుంది. ఓ దారుణహత్య... దాని వెన‌క ప‌రిశోధ‌న నేప‌థ్యం ప్రేక్షకుడిని వెంట‌నే క‌థ‌లో లీనం చేస్తుంది. నిజానికి ఇలాంటి క‌థ‌ల్లో కామెడీ, పాట‌ల్లాంటివి అంత‌గా అత‌క‌వు. కానీ ఇక్కడ హీరో ర‌వితేజ. ఆయ‌న సినిమా అంటే కొన్ని వాణిజ్యాంశాలు తప్పనిసరి అన్న లెక్కలు అలాగే ఉండిపోయాయి. (Ravanasura review) ర‌వితేజ‌, హైప‌ర్ ఆది, ఫ‌రియా అబ్దుల్లా మ‌ధ్య స‌న్నివేశాలు అందులో భాగ‌మే. అవ‌న్నీ స‌ర‌దా స‌ర‌దాగా సాగుతాయి. హ‌త్య కేసుని ప‌రిశోధించ‌డానికి సీనియ‌ర్ అధికారి హ‌నుమంత‌రావు (జ‌య‌రామ్‌) ఎప్పుడైతే రంగంలోకి దిగుతాడో అప్పటి నుంచి స‌న్నివేశాలు థ్రిల్‌ని పంచడం మొదలు పెడతాయి. మ‌లుపులు ఉత్కంఠ రేకెత్తిస్తాయి. అయితే ఈ సినిమా సాగే ఫార్ములా మాత్రం చాలా సినిమాల్నే గుర్తుకు తెస్తుంది. క‌థానాయ‌కుడు ఏం చేస్తున్నా దాని వెన‌క ఓ కార‌ణం ఉంటుంద‌నీ, అది చివ‌ర్లో ఫ్లాష్‌బ్యాక్‌లో తెలుస్తుంద‌నే ఊహ‌కు తగ్గట్టే సినిమా సాగుతుంది.

అత్యాధునిక సాంకేతిక‌త‌తో ఎలాంటి చిక్కుముడుల్నైనా అవ‌లీల‌ల‌గా ఛేదించి కేసుల్ని ప‌రిశోధిస్తున్న కాలం ఇది. కానీ బోలెడ‌న్ని ఆధారాలు క‌నిపిస్తున్నా ఇందులో హీరో చేయాల‌నుకున్నది చేసేస్తుంటాడు.  సినిమాటిక్ లిబ‌ర్టీ మరీ ఎక్కువ తీసేసుకున్నారు. దర్శకుడు క‌థ‌, క‌థ‌నాల్ని వేగంగా న‌డ‌ప‌డం... ర‌వితేజ న‌ట‌న ప్రేక్షకుడిని అలరిస్తాయి. థ్రిల్లర్‌ సినిమాలు మ‌రీ ఎక్కువ‌గా చూసే ప్రేక్షకుడు లాజిక్‌ల గురించి ఆలోచించొచ్చు కానీ, సామాన్య ప్రేక్షకుడికి క‌థ‌లో మ‌లుపులు ఆస‌క్తిని రేకెత్తిస్తాయి. (Ravanasura review) ప్రొస్థటిక్‌ మేక‌ప్ నేప‌థ్యం బాగున్నా...  ఎక్కువ హత్యల్ని దాని చుట్టూనే మ‌ల‌చ‌డం పెద్దగా కిక్‌ ఇవ్వదు. ఫార్మా మాఫియా చుట్టూ స‌న్నివేశాలు ద్వితీయార్ధానికి కీల‌కం. అయితే ఆ నేప‌థ్యం ప‌రిశోధ‌న‌లో డ్రామాటిక్‌ కాకుండా... ఒకే స‌న్నివేశంతో వెలుగులోకి రావడం కూడా అంత‌గా మెప్పించ‌దు. ఆ త‌ర్వాత స‌న్నివేశాల‌న్నీ  ఊహ‌కు తగ్గట్టే సాగుతుంటాయి. ప‌తాక స‌న్నివేశాల్లో భాగంగా వ‌చ్చే పోరాట ఘ‌ట్టం, అందులో ర‌వితేజ గెట‌ప్ ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటుంది.

ఎవ‌రెలా చేశారంటే: ర‌వితేజ త‌న న‌ట‌న‌తో ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటాడు. ఆయ‌న పాత్రలో రెండు కోణాలు క‌నిపిస్తాయి. క‌థానాయ‌కుడిగా ఇలాంటి పాత్రతో కొత్త ప్రయత్నం  చేశార‌నుకోవ‌చ్చు.  ఇక పోరాట ఘ‌ట్టాలు, పాట‌ల్లో ఎప్పట్లాగే ఆయ‌న‌దైన  హుషారు క‌నిపిస్తుంది. తెరపైన ఐదుగురు హీరోయిన్లు క‌నిపిస్తారు. (Ravanasura review) అందులో  ఫ‌రియా అబ్దుల్లా, మేఘ ఆకాష్ ప్రథమార్ధంపై బ‌లంగా ప్రభావం చూపిస్తారు. అనుఇమ్మాన్యుయేల్‌ చిన్న పాత్రలో క‌నిపిస్తారు. సాకేత్ పాత్రలో సుశాంత్, జాను పాత్రలో ద‌క్ష చాలా స‌న్నివేశాల్లోనే క‌నిపిస్తారు. కానీ ఆ పాత్రల్లో బ‌లం లేదు.  పూజిత పొన్నాడ, రావు ర‌మేష్‌, ముర‌ళీశర్మ, జ‌య‌ప్రకాష్ త‌దిత‌రులు చిన్న పాత్రల్లో కనిపించారంతే. ఇన్వెస్టిగేష‌న్ ఆఫీస‌ర్‌గా జ‌య‌రాం ప‌రిధి మేర‌కు న‌టించారు. ఈ సినిమాలో  హీరోకి బ‌లంగా స‌వాల్‌ని విసిరే పాత్రలు లేక‌పోవ‌డం మైన‌స్.

సాంకేతికంగా సినిమా ఉన్నతంగా ఉంది. కెమెరా, సంగీతం విభాగాలు మంచి ప‌నితీరుని క‌న‌బ‌రిచాయి. ముఖ్యంగా నేప‌థ్య సంగీతం ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటుంది. ద్వితీయార్ధంలో ఒక థ్రిల్లర్ సినిమాకి త‌గ్గ వేగం క‌నిపించ‌దు. శ్రీకాంత్ విస్సా ర‌చ‌యిత‌గా క‌థ‌, మాట‌ల‌పై ప్రభావం చూపించారు. (Ravanasura review)  దర్శకుడు సుధీర్ వ‌ర్మపై ర‌వితేజ మాస్ ఇమేజే ఎక్కువ‌గా ప్రభావం చూపించిన‌ట్టు అనిపిస్తుంది. స‌హ‌జంగా ఆయ‌న సినిమాల్లో క‌నిపించే క‌థనానికి బ‌దులుగా ఇందులో  మాస్ అంశాలే ఎక్కువ‌గా ప్రభావం చూపించాయి. నిర్మాణ విలువలు బాగున్నాయి.

Ravanasura Movie Review: An effective Ravi Teja shoulders a middling revenge thriller

Make no mistake, most of our heroes are invincible, and a majority of them are do-gooders to a fault. Even when they loot, maim, murder, and even sexually assault someone, it is ingrained in us that there will be a solid reason that will make sense of it all. Probably why in Ravanasura , when a police officer says the protagonist is not a criminal lawyer but a criminal who knows the law, we do succumb to the peer pressure of whistling and hooting, however, we can’t help but think if our mass masala heroes can ever be truly fallible.

Director: Sudheer Varma Cast: Ravi Teja, Jayaram, Faria Abdullah, Megha Akash, Srikanth Ravanasura begins with a gruesome murder that happens in front of scores of witnesses. The killer and his victim are both high-profile people, and incidentally, the defendant’s daughter (Megha Akash) brings the case to noted advocate Kanaka Mahalakshmi (Faria Abdullah), and her junior lawyer Ravindran (Ravi Teja). Although Ravanasura begins on a grim note, the film follows a tried-and-tested template of a hero falling in love with a heroine at first sight, and breaking into songs at inappropriate moments. Just in case we had any doubt if this was love or just infatuation, Ravindran directly says her physical attributes are a major attraction. At one point, Ravindran says, “Life is boring with loads of violence, and no romance…” and to counter that he has three romantic affiliations with varying results. One is with a happily married senior colleague. One is with a grieving daughter. Finally, there is one relationship where we don’t know anything except she constantly asks for marriage after spending an intimate night with him. While it offers almost nothing to the three women in the film, it does allow Ravi Teja to shake a leg, and bring out his innate comic timing, and that holds the film in good stead… till Ravanasura becomes a tepid revenge thriller. The murder spree is investigated by a determined ACP Hanumanth Rao (Jayaram), who gives it his all to get to the bottom of the murders where each of the accused has no recollection of the event, and believes they were framed. Hanumanth understands there is a conspiracy and no point for guessing who is the mastermind. While it is fascinating to see how the mastermind goes about exacting revenge, even if it pushes the limits of decency expected out of our heroes, it isn’t really a novel method. Something similar was seen in a pre-pandemic Srijit Mukerji film and even has its antecedents in a much-loved Tom Cruise franchise. Inspiration aside, the writing of these portions is one-note and monotonous that even the semblance of novelty wears off soon enough. While the music by Harshavardhan Rameswar and Bheems Ceciroleo is catchy, the songs drown the pace of the film leaving us disengaged with the film on one too many occasions. With multiple layers being woven into the narrative, the makers have no doubt that Ravanasura is ultimately a Ravi Teja star vehicle. The actor owns every scene in the film by acing multiple shades. Interestingly, this is an aspect he has always explored, especially in his recent films like Waltair Veerayya, Dhamaka, and Khiladi . It is almost like his characters have an unknown side to them, which will be explored at a later time. There is a no-holds-barred personality that goes along with a happy-go-lucky character. But Ravi Teja delivers a top performance that allows him to feed into the Mass Maharaja title, and yet showcase his histrionics too. One of the highlights of Ravanasura is its superior technical quality, brought forth by the cinematography of Vijay Kartik Kannan, who plays well within the boundaries of a star-elevation film, and manages to leave his stamp. A sense of opulence is balanced by the lighting in many of the fight sequences that are set within confined spaces. Points to the makers for staging the action sequences with freshness, and keeping them crisp without extending their welcome. However, many scenes of Ravanasura leave a bitter aftertaste, and these are not restricted to just the revenge sequences. The writing in comedy too leaves a lot to be desired because some of the scenes are crass, and the same can be said of the dialogues uttered in the garb of showcasing the badassery of Ravindran. Many of these scenes feel so out of place and unnecessary, but what truly is pleasantly surprising is how there are moments of sincerity that manage to find their way through all the template scenes. Nifty touches like the commentary on extra-judicial killings are soon offset by the usual scenes of an honest police officer supporting a criminal just because the intentions are in the right place. When we are at a place where films that have their heart in the right place are not encouraged just for it anymore, why bother doing the same for a ‘criminal’ and less said about the whitewashing that happens in the name of exposition the better? As the credits roll, we see Ravi Teja’s Ravindran being juxtaposed next to Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker with the tagline, ‘We are all bad in someone’s story.’ In retrospect, the film is just another attempt at exploring what it takes for a person to be pushed off the edge. But, for all its imagery about Ravanas and Asuras, Ravanasura is neither a monster nor a joker and falls somewhere in the middle of it all.

ఆగకుండా సినిమాలు చేస్తున్న రవితేజ "రావణాసుర"తో ముందుకొచ్చాడు. ట్రైలర్ చూస్తే భారీ తారాగణంతో మంచి యాక్షన్ సినిమాని తలపించేలా అనిపించింది. ధమాకా, వాల్తేర్ వీరయ్య ఊపులో ఆ వరుసలో వస్తున్న సినిమా కనుక అంచనాలు కూడా ఏర్పడడం సహజం. ఇంతకీ ఇందులో ఏముందో చూద్దాం. 

ఒకే పాటర్న్ లో విచిత్రంగా హత్యలు జరుగుతుంటాయి. వాటన్నిటికీ మూలం ఒకడే అని, వాడెవడో కనిపెట్టాలని ఇన్వెస్టిగేటింగ్ ఆఫీసర్ బయలుదేరతాడు. అసలు హంతకుడిని పట్టుకునే లోపు మరిన్ని హత్యలు జరుగుతుంటాయి. ఆ హంతకుడెవరు? దొరక్కుండా ఎంత తెలివిగా తప్పించుకుంటున్నాడు? హత్యలకు కారణమేంటి? అదే కథ. 

ఇలాంటి కథని హ్యాండిల్ చేయడానికి పదునైన స్క్రీన్ ప్లే అవసరం. ఆద్యంతం ఉత్కంఠ గొలపాలి. ప్రతి డైలాగ్ ఎందుకు పెడుతున్నామో, ఫలానా షాట్ ఎందుకో..అన్నిటికీ లెక్కుండాలి. 

ఎంత సినిమాటిక్ లిబెర్టీస్ తీసుకున్నా కాస్తైనా లాజిక్ కి దగ్గరగా అనిపించాలి. 

- మాస్క్ పెట్టుకుంటే మొహం మారుతుంది కానీ బాడీ అంతా ఎలా మారిపోతుంది? 

- ఈ రోజుల్లో కూడా ఇంకా కాయిన్ బాక్సులు ఉన్నాయా? 

- పోలీస్ స్టేషన్లో గోడ మీద ముఖ్యమంత్రి కేసీయార్ ఫొటో పెట్టి మళ్లీ ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా వేరే ఎవర్నో చూపిస్తాడేంటి? 

- తానే హత్యలన్నీ చేసానని హంతకుడు ఒప్పేసుకున్నా కూడా ఆ కేసుని ఇన్వెస్టిగేట్ చేస్తున్న పోలీస్ ఎందుకు అరెష్ట్ చెయ్యడు? పైగా అనుమానం సరిపోదు, ఆధారం కావాలంటాడేంటి? హంతకుడే ఒప్పుకున్న దానికంటే ఆధారం ఏముంటుంది? 

...ఇలాంటి ప్రశ్నలు చికాకు పెట్టేస్తుంటాయి ఈ సినిమా చూస్తున్నంత సేపూ. 

సినిమా మొదలైన కాసేపటి నుంచీ హీరో విలన్ లాగే ప్రవర్తిస్తుంటాడు. హత్యలు చేస్తుంటాడు, అమ్మాయిల్ని బందీ చేస్తాడు, రేపులు చేస్తాడు...ఇలా చాలా! ..సదరు థ్రిల్లర్ సినిమాల్లో సీరియల్ కిల్లర్ టైపులో అన్నమాట. కానీ చట్టానికి దొరకడు. అలా దొరక్కుండా హత్యలు చేయడం "ఆర్ట్" అని సమర్ధించుకునే విలన్ మన హీరో. 

ఇలాంటి సినిమాల్లో ఆ పాత్రకి జస్టిఫికేషన్ రావాలంటే అతని చేతిలో చచ్చిన వాళ్లందరికీ ఒక క్రైం తో డైరెక్ట్ సంబంధం ఉండి ఉండాలని, అందులో హీరో కానీ, అతని పెళ్లామో ప్రేయసో కానీ విక్టిం అవ్వొచ్చని వందలాది సినిమాలు చూసిన ప్రేక్షకులు ఒక అంచనాకి వస్తారు. అంచనాల్ని నిరుత్సాహపరచకుండా అత్యంత పేలవంగా, దారుణమైనంత ప్రెడిక్టిబుల్ గా ముగుస్తుంది క్లైమాక్స్. ఎక్కడా కూడా ఫలానా ట్రాక్ అద్భుతమనడానికి లేకుండా ఉంది. 

ఎంచుకున్న ప్లాట్ పాయింట్ బాగానే ఉన్నా రవితేజను పెట్టి తియ్యాలనుకోవడమే మైనస్సయ్యింది. 

కథకి శ్రీకాంత్ విస్సా పేరు పెట్టినా ఇది "వించి దా" అనే ఒక బెంగాలి చిత్రం ఫ్రీమేక్. దానిని కొంత మార్చి కలగాపులగం చేసారు. పాయసాన్ని రీమేక్ చెయ్యాలని మొదలుపెట్టి, దానికి కాస్త స్పైసీనెస్ యాడ్ చెయ్యాలని ఉప్పు కారం జల్లితే ఎలా ఉంటుందో ఈ కథని అలా తయారు చేసారు. సస్పెన్స్ క్రైం థ్రిల్లర్ లో తొలి సగంలో చాలాసేపు రొమాంటిక్ ట్రాక్ పెట్టడం, సెకండాఫ్ లో పాత్రల మధ్య సంబంధాన్ని దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకోకుండా డ్యూయెట్స్ పెట్టడం లాంటివి దయనీయమైన రచనకు తార్కాణాలు. 

టెక్నికల్ గా చూసుకున్నా కూడా చాలా సోసో గా ఉన్న చిత్రమిది. పాటలు ఆకట్టుకోవు. "వెయ్యిన్నొక్క జిల్లాల వరకు.." పాట రీమిక్స్ తేలిపోయింది. అసలా పాట ఎందుకు పెట్టారో, దేనికి ఖూనీ చేసారో కారణం కూడా లేదు. 

కథ, కథనం రెండూ పాకనపడకుండా దింపేసారు. 

రవితేజ డ్యాన్సులు అద్భుతంగా చెసాడు. పాజిటివ్ పాయింట్ చెప్పాలంటే ఇదొక్కటే. అంతకు మించి అసలీ పాత్రే అతనికి నప్పలేదు. నరరూప రాక్షసుడిగా కనిపిస్తూ ఎక్కడా మనసుకి హత్తుకోకుండా ఉన్న పాత్ర ఇది. చివరికి కూడా సింపతీ రాదు. 

సుశాంత్ ఎంట్రీ గ్రాండ్ గా జరిగినా అతని క్యారెక్టర్ మాస్కులు తయారు చేయడం తప్ప చేసిందేమీ లేదు. 

ఫరియా అబ్దుల్లా పాత్ర అనవసరమనిపించేలా ఉంది. శ్రీరాం కూడా ఓకే. 

మేఘ ఆకాష్ ది కాస్త ప్రాముఖ్యమున్న పాత్ర. ఆమె బాగానే చేసింది. 

మురళి శర్మది గెస్ట్ పాత్రకంటే కాస్తంత పెద్దది అంతే. 

రావు రమేష్ కి తెలంగాణా యాస చాలా కృతకంగా ఉంది. 

ఇన్వెస్టిగేటింగ్ ఆఫీసర్ గా జయరాం పాత్రని ఇంకా పవర్ఫుల్ గా, తెలివిగా నడిపుండాలి. 

హైపర్ ఆది ఎందుకున్నాడో తెలీదు. నాలుగు పంచులేస్తే జనం విజిల్స్ వేస్తారనుకుని ఉండొచ్చు కానీ, ఎక్కడో ఒకటి రెండు చోట్ల తప్ప పంచులు పండనే పండలేదు.  

మిగిలిన నటీనటులంగా జస్ట్ ఓకే. ఎవ్వరూ పాత్రల్లో ఒదిగి నటించినట్టు కనపడలేదు. స్క్రీన్ ప్లేలో ఒక ఆర్గానిక్ ఫ్లో లేకపోవడం, నిడివి పెంచడానికి తప్ప మెయిన్ ఫ్లో కి సరిపడని సీన్లు పెట్టడమే ఆర్టిస్టుల ఇన్వాల్వ్మెంట్ రిజిస్టర్ కాకపోవడానికి ఒక కారణం. 

వరుస పరాజయాలతో దూసుకుపోతున్న రవితేజకి "ధమాక" అడ్డుకట్ట వేసి హిట్టిచ్చింది. ఆ వెంటనే "వాల్తేర్ వీరయ్య" రూపంలో కూడా హిట్టొచ్చింది. సినిమాలు హిట్టైపోతున్నాయని కంగారు పడిన రవితేజ ఫ్లాపవ్వడానికి సరైన సినిమాని ఎంచుకుని తలపెట్టినట్టుంది ఈ సినిమా. లేకపోతే అసలిది రవితేజ చెయ్యాల్సిన సినిమా కాదు. 

రొటీన్ గా కాకుండా వైవిధ్యంగా ట్రై చేసాడని చెప్పుకోవచ్చు. కానీ అలా చెసినప్పుడు రొటీన్ కంటే గొప్పగా అనిపించాలి. అంతే తప్ప నొసట్లు చిట్లించేలా ఉండకూడదు. పైగా రవితేజ అంటే ఫ్యామిలీ ఆడియన్స్ ఇష్టపడే నటుడు. అతనిని పెట్టుకుని "సెమెన్ ని కళ్లాపి జల్లడం" లాంటి డైలాగ్స్, హీరోయిన్ స్థాయి నటిని మెడ కోసి చంపే దృశ్యాలు, అమ్మాయిల మీద పడి రేప్ చెయ్యడాలు..ఇవన్నీ అవసరమా!

ఫ్యామిలీ ఆడియన్స్ ని దూరంగా పెట్టే రవితేజ సినిమాగా ఇది నిలిచిపోతుంది. మాస్ ఆడియన్స్ కి కూడా వెగటు పుట్టేలాగా, ఫ్యాన్స్ ని సైతం నిరాశపరిచేలాగ..మొత్తంగా ఏ వర్గానికీ దగ్గర కాకుండా ఉండేలా ఉన్న సినిమా ఇది.

రెండు వరుస బ్లాక్ బస్టర్ హిట్స్ తర్వాత హ్యాట్రిక్ హిట్ కోసం మాస్ మహారాజ రవితేజ ఇప్పుడు తన మరో చిత్రం “రావణాసుర” తో ఈ వారం థియేటర్స్ లోకి వచ్చేసారు. దర్శకుడు సుధీర్ వర్మ తెరకెక్కించిన ఈ చిత్రం సాలిడ్ థ్రిల్లర్ గా ఈరోజు రాగా మరి ఈ సినిమా అంచనాలు అందుకుందా లేదా అనేది సమీక్షలో తెలుసుకుందాం రండి.

ఇక కథలోకి వస్తే..రవీంద్ర(రవితేజ) కనక మహాలక్ష్మి(ఫరియా అబ్దుల్లా) అనే పేరుమోసిన క్రిమినల్ లాయర్ దగ్గర ఓ జూనియర్ లాయర్ గా పని చేస్తూ ఉంటాడు. అయితే ఓ రోజు హారిక(మేఘా ఆకాష్) తన తండ్రి(సంపత్ రాజ్) ని ఓ మర్డర్ కేసులో ఎవరో ఇరికించారు అని కనక మహాలక్ష్మి దగ్గరకి వస్తుంది. కానీ హారిక ని చూసిన రవీంద్ర ఆమెని మొదటి చూపు లోనే ఇష్టపడి పర్సనల్ ఇంట్రెస్ట్ తో ఈ కేసును తాను తీసుకుంటాడు. కానీ ఇక్కడ నుంచి ఈ కేసులో మరిన్ని షాకింగ్ నిజాలు తెలుస్తాయి. మరి ఈ మర్డర్స్ చేసింది ఎవరు? ఎందుకు చేస్తున్నారు? ఈ కథలో మిగతా హీరోయిన్స్ పాత్రలు ఏంటి? ఆ కిల్లర్ దొరుకుతాడా అనే ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ ప్రశ్నలకి సమాధానం తెలియాలి అంటే ఈ సినిమాని వెండితెరపై చూడాల్సిందే..

ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ చిత్రంలో బిగ్గెస్ట్ ప్లస్ ఆడియెన్స్ కి బాగా ఆశ్చర్యపరిచే బిగ్ థింగ్ ఏదన్నా ఉంది అంటే అది మాస్ మహారాజ్ రవితేజ సరికొత్త ఊహించని క్యారెక్టరైజేషన్ అని చెప్పాలి. డైరెక్టర్ రాసుకున్న రోల్ కి సినిమా టైటిల్ కి తగ్గట్టుగా ఒక పూర్తిగా కొత్త రవితేజ ని ఈ రావణాసురలో మనం విట్నెస్ చెయ్యొచ్చు. నటన పరంగా తనలోకి కొత్త షెడ్ ని రవితేజ అద్భుతంగా పెర్ఫామ్ చేసి సినిమాలో బిగ్గెస్ట్ హైలైట్స్ లో ఒకటిగా నిలుస్తారు.

అలాగే ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ రవితేజ నుంచి ఇంతకు ముందు చూడని డాన్సర్ రవితేజ ని కూడా చూడొచ్చు. ఇక కథనంలో కొన్ని ట్విస్ట్ లు మంచి ఆసక్తిగా థ్రిల్ కలిగిస్తాయి. అయితే ఎక్కువ మంది హీరోయిన్స్ ఉన్నారు ఎలా బాలన్స్ చేస్తారు అనే ప్రశ్న చాలా మందికి ఉండొచ్చు కానీ దర్శకుడు ఈ అంశాన్ని బాగా హ్యాండిల్ చేసి అందరికి సమాన ప్రాధాన్యత కలిగిన సీన్స్ లో చూపించాడు.

ఫరియా, మేఘా ఆకాష్, అను ఇమ్మాన్యుయేల్ దక్ష నగర్కార్ అందరికీ మంచి రోల్స్ వారి పరిధిలో మంచి ఎమోషన్స్ తో కూడిన సీన్స్ లో కనిపిస్తారు. ఇక సుశాంత్ కూడా మంచి పాత్రలో కనిపించి ఆకట్టుకుంటాడు. అలాగే వెర్సటైల్ నటుడు రావు రమేష్ సాలిడ్ రోల్ లో కనిపించి ఆకట్టుకుంటారు. యాక్షన్ బ్లాక్స్ డిజైన్, ఇంటర్వెల్ బ్యాంగ్ లు ఇంప్రెస్ చేస్తాయి.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ చిత్రంలో ఫస్టాఫ్ వరకు అంతా మంచి ఆసక్తిగానే సాగుతుంది కానీ సినిమాకి ఎంతో కీలకమైన సెకండాఫ్ లో మాత్రం ఈ ఫ్లో మరియు ఫ్రెష్ నెస్ కొనసాగదు అని చెప్పాలి. కొన్ని సన్నివేశాల్లో లాజిక్స్ మిస్ అవ్వడం అలాగే పలు సీన్స్ కాస్త ఓవర్ గా కూడా అనిపిస్తాయి. అలాగే సెకండాఫ్ లో స్క్రీన్ ప్లే ఇంకా బెటర్ గా చేయాల్సింది. అలాగే మెయిన్ కథలోకి వెళ్ళాక కూడా ప్లాట్ లో పెద్దగా కొత్తదనం కనిపించదు.

దీనితో ముందు బాగున్నా నరేషన్ అంతా దీనితో తేలిపోయినట్టు అనిపిస్తుంది. ఈ విషయంలో దర్శకుడు కొంచెం కొత్తగా ట్రై చేసి ఉంటే బాగుండేది. అలాగే ఒక టైం లో అయితే సినిమాలో పాటలు కూడా అంత ఇంపార్టెంట్ అని కూడా అనిపించదు. మరో ముఖ్య పాయింట్ ఏమిటంటే రవితేజ నుంచి కొన్ని కమర్షియల్, ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ ఎలిమెంట్స్ ని కోరుకునేవారికి కాస్త నిరాశ తప్పదు.

సాంకేతిక వర్గం :

ఈ చిత్రంలో అభిషేక్ ఆర్ట్స్ వారు నిర్మాణ విలువలు అయితే సాలిడ్ లెవెల్లో ఉన్నాయి. ప్రతి ఫ్రేమ్ ని కూడా చాలా రిచ్ గా మంచి సెట్ వర్క్ ఆర్ట్ వర్క్ తో తమ ఖర్చు కనిపిస్తుంది. ఇక టెక్నికల్ టీం లో మ్యూజిక్ ఇచ్చిన హర్ష వర్ధన్ రామేశ్వర్, భీమ్స్ ల పనితనం బాగుంది. ముఖ్యంగా సినిమాలో టెన్స్ వాతావరణం కి తగ్గ బాక్గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ సీన్స్ ని హైలైట్ చేస్తుంది. ఇక విజయ్ కార్తీక్ కన్నన్ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ తన విజువల్స్ ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ గా ఉన్నాయి. నవీన్ నూలి ఎడిటింగ్ ఓకే అని చెప్పొచ్చు. ఇక కాస్ట్యూమ్స్, డైలాగ్స్ వర్క్ బాగుంది.

ఇక దర్శకుడు సుధీర్ వర్మ విషయానికి వస్తే.. ఇలాంటి థ్రిల్లర్ చిత్రాలని తాను భాగం హ్యాండిల్ చేస్తాడు. అదే విధంగా రావణాసుర లో కూడా చాలా మంచి మంచి థ్రిల్ ని అలాగే ట్విస్ట్ లతో ఆడియెన్స్ లో మంచి ఆసక్తిని రేపగలిగాడు. అయితే సినిమా మెయిన్ పాయింట్ ని మాత్రం రెగ్యులర్ గా తీసుకోవడం కాస్త నిరాశ కలిగిస్తుంది. అలాగే సెకండాఫ్ లో కూడా మరింత జాగ్రత్త వహించి ఉంటే ఓవరాల్ అవుట్ ఫుట్ మరింత సాలిడ్ గా ఉండేది. దీనితో తన వర్క్ కొంచెం యావరేజ్ కి మించి ఉంటుందని చెప్పవచ్చు.

ఇక మొత్తంగా చూసినట్టు అయితే ఈ “రావణాసుర” సినిమాలో మాస్ మహారాజ్ రవితేజ ని సరికొత్త వెర్షన్ ఆకట్టుకుంది. అలాగే సినిమాలో థ్రిల్లింగ్ ఫ్యాక్టర్ కూడా బాగానే ఉంది కానీ సుధీర్ వర్మ సినిమా కథ విషయంలో కాస్త కొత్తగా ఏమన్నా ట్రై చెయ్యాల్సింది. అలాగే సెకండాఫ్ ఏమంత గొప్పగా ఉండదు, రొటీన్ స్క్రీన్ ప్లే తో ఇది వరకే చూసిన రివెంజ్ డ్రామాలా అనిపిస్తుంది. ఇవి పక్కన పెట్టి ఏ అంచనాలు లేకుండా సినిమా చూసే వారికి ఈ చిత్రం ఈ వారాంతానికి పర్వాలేదనిపించే ట్రీట్ అందిస్తుంది.

Ravanasura movie review: Ten-headed drivel

Ravanasura movie review: ravi teja gives the film his 100 per cent but the seemingly perfect-on-paper movie loses a lot in execution..

Coming after his first Rs 100 crore movie in a career spanning over 80 films, Ravanasura carries heavy expectations from Ravi Teja . Incidentally, the actor is also producing the movie, making the burden of expectations even heavier. It is an important film for director Sudhir Varma as well, who is known for stylish and entertaining thrillers.

The film’s title sequence shows the gruesome murder of pharma approval agency officer, Jaya Prakash (played by Sampath Raj). Ravanasura, however, begins on a comic note as we meet Ravindra ( Ravi Teja ), who is a junior lawyer and works for Kanaka Mahalakshmi (Faria Abdulla). Hyper Aadi plays his sidekick with the sharp tongue. Ravindra’s history with Lakshmi, and his escapades runs the story for some time. As one murder leads to another, it is revealed that a few men have been caught red-handed while committing murders, but have no memory of the act. Ravindra takes up Sampath’s case even as he falls in love with Harika (Megha Akash). Meanwhile, the case is assigned by the commissioner (Murali Sharma) to ACP Hanmantha Rao (Jayaram), who is two months away from retirement. The ACP finds many similar cases where accused claim that they don’t remember killing people. His investigation leads him to makeup artist Saketh Ram (Sushanth) – a prosthetics expert. Saketh himself is a victim here as his girlfriend Janaki (Daksha Nagarkar) has been kidnapped and he is being forced to help the criminal in creating masks of people, who are then framed for murder. Who is the mastermind, what is his connection with Ravindra and why does Ravi Teja proclaim himself to be Ravanasura form the crux of the rest of the film.

Though Shrikanth Vissa is credited with the story and dialogues, this film is inspired by 2019 Srijit Mukherji’s Bengali movie Vinci Da. The Bengali story has been adapted to suit the image of Ravi Teja and demands of the Telugu audience. Having said that, this is a straightforward story of a vigilante hero dedicating himself to killing the bad guys when they target his family. The screenplay keeps it tight, portraying the hero as a negative character who kills, kidnaps and rapes and proclaims himself to be evil–Ravanasura. However, once the threads are unravelled, we find that all of this is in service of the hero’s image and massy acts blown up to suit the bigger budget after the recent Rs 100 crore success.

Ravi Teja as usual gives the film his 100 per cent, but the story offers nothing new. Director Sudhir Varma fails to sustain the narrative as action takes over intrigue and suspense. Apart from Ravi Teja, Jayaram has the meatiest role and he does well.

Harshvardhan Rameshwar’s background score is impressive even though songs are routine mass numbers. The climax sequence in an entire glass set is picturised well by the cinematographer. Though seemingly perfect on paper, the film is likely to turn out an average performer for Ravi Teja.

మాస్‌ మహారాజా రవితేజ హీరోగా నటించిన తాజా చిత్రం ‘రావణాసుర’.సుధీర్‌ వర్మ దర్శకత్వం వహించిన ఈ చిత్రాన్ని  అభిషేక్ పిక్చ‌ర్స్, ఆర్‌టీ టీమ్ వ‌ర్క్స్ బ్యాన‌ర్‌పై అభిషేక్ నామా నిర్మించారు. అను ఇమ్మాన్యుయేల్‌, మేఘా ఆకాష్‌, ఫ‌రియా అబ్దుల్లా, ద‌క్షా న‌గార్క‌ర్‌ హీరోయిన్స్‌గా న‌టించారు. యంగ్‌ హీరో సుశాంత్‌ కీలక పాత్ర పోషించారు. ఇప్పుటికే విడుదలైన ట్రైలర్‌, పాటలు సినిమాపై హైప్‌ క్రియేట్‌ చేశాయి.

ధమాకా, వాల్తేరు వీరయ్య సినిమాలతో వరస విజయాలు అందుకుని జోరు మీదున్న రవితేజ.. హ్యాట్రిక్ కోసం రావణాసుర తో వచ్చారు. పైగా ఇందులో ఆయన విలనిజం కూడా పండించారు. మరి ఈ సినిమాతో ఆయన వరసగా మూడో విజయాన్ని అందుకున్నారా లేదా అనేది రివ్యూలో చూద్దాం..

రవీందర్ (రవితేజ) ఓ జూనియర్ లాయర్. కాలేజీలో తన జూనియర్ అయిన సీతామాలక్ష్మి (ఫరియా అబ్దుల్లా) దగ్గరే అసిస్టెంట్‌గా జాయిన్ అవుతాడు. చిన్న చిన్న కేసులు డీల్ చేస్తూ ఉంటాడు. అలాంటి సమయంలో అతడి దగ్గరికి ఓ హత్య కేసు వస్తుంది. అది చిన్న కేైస్ కాదు.. ఒక ఫార్మా కంపెనీ యజమాని (సంపత్)ని కావాలనే ఒకరు హత్య చేసి ఇరికిస్తారు.. దాంతో తన తండ్రిని ఎలాగైనా కేసు నుంచి బయట పడేయాలంటూ అతడి కూతురు (మేఘా ఆకాష్) రవీంద్ర దగ్గరికి వస్తుంది. ఆ తర్వాత అదే కేసును మరో రెండు నెలల్లో రిటైర్ అవ్వబోయే సిన్సియర్ ఆఫీసర్ అసిస్టెంట్ కమిషనర్ (జయరాం) కు హ్యాండిల్ చేస్తారు. ఆ హత్య చేసింది రవీంద్రే అని తెలుసుకుంటాడు కమీషనర్. కానీ సాక్ష్యాలు మాత్రం ఉండవు. అసలు ఈ హత్యలన్నీ రవీంద్ర ఎందుకు చేస్తున్నాడు..? దానికి సాకేత్ (సుశాంత్) ఎందుకు సాయం చేసాడు..? అసలు రవీంద్ర జీవితంలోకి సాకేత్ ఎందుకు వచ్చాడు అనేది అసలు కథ..

హీరో నెగిటివ్ షేడ్ చేస్తే ఆ సినిమాపై క్యూరియాసిటీ పెరుగుతుంది. బహుశా రావణాసుర కోసం సుధీర్ వర్మ అప్లై చేసిన ఫార్ములా ఇదే. రవితేజను నెగిటివ్ రోల్ లో చూపిస్తే ఎలా ఉంటుంది అని ఆలోచన నుంచే.. ఈ రావణాసుర కథ పుట్టి ఉంటుంది. పైగా ఇది బెంగాలి సినిమా విన్సిడాకు రీమేక్ అనే ప్రచారం ముందు నుంచి జరుగుతుంది. కానీ దీన్ని దర్శక నిర్మాతలు మాత్రం ఒప్పుకోలేదు. కానీ సినిమా చూసాక అది ఇదే అనే కన్ఫర్మేషన్ వచ్చింది. చిన్న చిన్న మార్పులతో బెంగాలీ సినిమాను రీమేక్ చేసారు మేకర్స్. కానీ ఇందులో సగం వరకే సక్సెస్ అయ్యాడు సుధీర్ వర్మ. ఫస్టాఫ్ అంత సక్సెస్ ఫుల్ విలన్ గా చూపించినా.. కీలకమైన సెకండాఫ్ లో మాత్రం రావణాసుర అంతగా ఆకట్టుకోలేదు. మరీ ముఖ్యంగా మెయిన్ ట్విస్ట్ రివిల్ అయిన తర్వాత.. రొటీన్ రివెంజ్ ఫార్ములాగా మారిపోయాడు రావణాసురుడు. ఇదేం కొత్త కథ కాదు.. కాకపోతే ఇలాంటి కథలకు స్క్రీన్ ప్లే చాలా కొత్తగా ఉండాలి. సరిగ్గా ఇక్కడే సుధీర్ వర్మ అనుకున్నంత సక్సెస్ కాలేదు. చాలావరకు సస్పెన్స్ మెయిన్టేన్ చేసినా.. ప్రీ క్లైమాక్స్ తర్వాత రావణాసురపై అభిప్రాయం మారిపోతుంది. ముఖ్యంగా ఫస్టాఫ్ అంతా కథ కంటే ఎక్కువగా కామెడీ మీదే ఫోకస్ చేసాడు దర్శకుడు. హైపర్ ఆదితో రవితేజ కామెడీ ట్రాక్ బాగానే అనిపిస్తుంది. అయితే కీలకమైన కథలోకి వెళ్లిన తర్వాత ఆదిని పూర్తిగా పక్కనబెట్టారు. ఇంటర్వెల్ ట్విస్ట్ అదిరిపోయినా.. సెకండాఫ్ మాత్రం అంచనాలకు తగ్గట్లుగా లేదు. ట్విస్టులు మరీ ఎక్కువైపోవడం కూడా రావణాసురకు మైనస్ అయింది. రవితేజ ఎందుకు అలా అందర్నీ చంపేస్తున్నాడు.. అమ్మాయిలతోనూ ఎందుకంతగా క్రూరంగా ఉంటున్నాడనే దానికి వివరణ లేదు. జస్ట్ బిల్డప్ షాట్స్ కోసమే వాటిని షూట్ చేసారని అర్థమవుతుంది.

రవితేజ కొత్తగా ఉన్నాడు.. నెగిటివ్ షేడ్ అదరగొట్టాడు. చివర్లో ఎలాగూ ట్విస్ట్ ఉంటుంది కాబట్టి ఉన్నంత వరకు మాత్రం చంపేసాడంతే. సుశాంత్ కు మంచి పాత్ర పడింది.. కథలో చాలా కీలకమైన కారెక్టర్ ఇది. దాన్ని బాగానే పోషించాడు సుశాంత్. ఐదుగురు హీరోయిన్లు కథలో కలిసిపోయారు. మేఘా ఆకాశ్ అందరిలోనూ బాగా చేసింది. ఫరియా అబ్దుల్లా మరోసారి జాతి రత్నాలు టైప్ ఆఫ్ కారెక్టర్ చేసింది. పూజిత పొన్నాడ, దక్ష, అను ఇమ్మాన్యుయేల్ ఉన్నంతలో బాగానే చేసారు. జయరాం పాత్ర ఓకే. మిగిలిన వాళ్లంతా ఓకే..

టెక్నికల్ టీం:

హర్షవర్ధన్ రామేశ్వర్ సంగీతం పర్లేదు. పాటలు బాగానే ఉన్నాయి. ఎడిటింగ్ జస్ట్ ఓకే. సెకండాఫ్ కాస్త కత్తెర పడాల్సి ఉంది. సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ బాగానే ఉంది. కథ పరంగా శ్రీకాంత్ విస్సా గొప్పగా ఏం లేదు. పైగా బెంగాలీ రీమేక్ కథను మనకు తగ్గట్లుగా మార్చాడు. దర్శకుడిగా సుధీర్ వర్మ సగం వరకే సక్సెస్ అయ్యాడు. ముఖ్యంగా స్క్రీన్ ప్లే విషయంలో ఇంకాస్త జాగ్రత్త పడుంటే రావణాసుర కచ్చితంగా మంచి సినిమా అయ్యుండేది.

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja has come up with his latest film, Ravanasura, which has been released today. There has been decent hype surrounding the film, given that everyone was excited to see the actor in a grey shade. The movie is directed by Sudheer Varma, and let’s now see how it has turned out to be.

Ravi Teja is a junior lawyer, working with senior lawyer Faria Abdullah. They are asked to take up a murder case by Megha Akash, in which Sampath Nandi, Megha’s father, is the accused. Several other murders take place following this, all of which are done by various people and in a very gruesome manner. Who is committing these murders and why are they doing it in such a gruesome manner forms the rest of the story.

On-Screen Performances:

Ravi Teja does a great job in his character, and his comedy scenes with Faria Abdullah make you chuckle a bit. He manages to keep you engaged with his performance throughout, and he is thrilling to watch in his negative shade. He keeps the audience quite entertained throughout the film.

Sushanth has done an interesting role in the film, and while it doesn’t live up to the hype that has been created around his character, it is nevertheless a good one.

Every other character in the film, of Sampath Raj, Faria Abdullah, Megha Akash, Sriram, Jayaram, Daksha Nagarkar and Rao Ramesh, among others, all come and go according to the story, serving as much as they need to, to the story. They are all good enough in their roles.

Off-Screen Talents:

Director Sudheer Varma tries to do his best with the story he’s been given. He managed to have crafted an engaging and okay first half, but the second half is the major let down for the movie. The second half is very predictable and the screenplay is not interesting enough. Everything that is done to justify Ravi Teja’s actions in the second half seems to have been written for the sake of it, as they lack enough depth and are not very convincing. All these factors work against the film. Moreover, some murder scenes are gruesome and very much exaggerated, and might not sit well with the audience.

The background score for the film is one of the biggest assets, as the score elevates the scenes and manages to build up a slight tension, especially in the murder scenes.

The cinematography of the film is also quite good and sets the mood well enough. The production design is good too. The editing could have been so much better.

Minus Points:

• Poor screenplay
• Improper justification
• Predictable second half

Verdict: Ravanasura had a lot of scope to be a brilliant psychotic thriller. However, the film ends up being less than mediocre. Watch the film only if you’re a die-hard fan of Ravi Teja, otherwise skip it.

Final Report : Ravanasura is an attempted suspense thriller that has a regular formulaic revenge plot and blatantly misses logic for most part.Ravi Teja did gave good performance but one would feel that something is missing in his characterization.BGM is okay, Sudheer Varma’s talent is shown in very few scenes.

Screenplay needs to be super tight in this kind of genre but gets out of pace with songs and elevation scenes.

7.45 PM EST – Movie opens up with a light hearted comedy with court scene followed by Ravi Teja introduction fight and a song.

Ravanasura Movie Review : Yet another failed thriller !

After delivering two back-to-back super hits like Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya, Ravi Teja pinned all his hopes on his upcoming thriller Ravanasura. Sudheer Varma is the director of this interesting film. Anu Emmanuel, Megha Akash, Daksha Nagarkar, and Pujita Ponnada are the leading ladies and Sushanth, Jayaram, and Murali Sharma played other prominent roles. Harshavardhan Rameshwar and Bheems Ceciroleo scored the music and background score. The film is bankrolled by Abhishek Pictures and RT Team Works. The film is hitting the screens today.  Here is the review of Ravanasura:

Story : Ravindra (Ravi Teja) is a junior lawyer. He works as a junior under Kanakamahalakshmi (Faria Abdullah). Harika (Megha Akash) hires Kanaka Mahalakshmi in her father’s (Sampat Raj) case. Harika’s father Sampath Raj is the owner of a big pharma company. He accidentally gets stuck in a murder case. All the evidence is there that he committed the murder. There are similar other cases where the accused are unknowingly involved in committing murders. What truth has come out in this case? That is the rest of the story.

The main characteristic of thriller movies is to hold the audience’s attention. The twists and turns of the story, the investigation, the revealing … all these things should surprise the audience. Only then will the audience feel that they have seen a good thriller. But ‘Ravanasura’ is lagging in this aspect. Director Sudheer Varma has tried to make a revenge story like a thriller. The story starts with a murder scene. An unnecessary fight and a song have been added reminding the audience that this is Ravi Teja’s movie. Again, reminding that this is a thriller, Jayaram is brought down as the investigating officer. If you think that the killer will face difficulties after Jayaram comes into the trial, you are wrong. Once he arrives, the assassin’s job becomes even easier. Why couldn’t Jayaram do anything as a police officer? The logic given by the director and the writer is that he saw a sparkle in the killer’s eyes. It is a flash that is not afraid of anything or anyone. After listening to this, the audience has no other option but to sit and stare. Not going deep but.. none of the characters are natural in this film. Some characters don’t have a proper ending. The little suspense about Ravana has been revealed in the first half itself. If you hope that the story will turn to any new point in the second half, you will be disappointed. After seeing that, the audience will think does this old revenge need so much setup?

Ravi Teja looked good. Although not necessary for this story, Hyper Aadi and Raviteja’s one-liners are good. The action scenes were energetic as usual. There are about five heroines in it. Faria is a good actress. But she didn’t use the character much. Megha Akash’s role is crucial. Anu Emmanuel appears in two scenes. Even her name is not registered. Perhaps she was selected for this role after watching the movie ‘Urvashivo Rakshasivo’. Poojita and Daksha’s characters seem okay. Sushant’s role is new to him. Jayaram’s character should be written more strongly. Aadi appeared as a character who makes four jokes and disappears.

Songs are unnecessary for a film like Ravanasura but three songs have been included. The ‘ Veyyinnokka Jilla varaku ‘ song has been remixed, but it has been dropped without any context. The background music given by Harshavardhan is impressive. But due to the lack of force in the scenes, it sounds detached. The camera work is good. Director Sudhir Verma has a peculiar style. But his mark was not seen in this.

Verdict : ‘ Ravanasura’ is a very average affair for the masses, Raviteja fans, and offers nothing for the other sections. This crime thriller has an overdose of cinematic liberty which is the main culprit. Raviteja effortlessly perform the dual-shaded role and tried his best to rescue the weak script.

Ravi Teja gained form after scoring two hit films in recent months. Hence, his new film "Ravanasura" attracted attention. Furthermore, the director, Sudheer Varma, is known for producing good thrillers, and the production company is well-known.

Let's analyze.

Story: Ravindra (Ravi Teja) is an associate at the law firm run by Kanaka Mahalaxmi (Faria Abdullah). Kanaka declines to represent Harika (Megha Akash), but Ravindra begs her to take up the case as he is in love with Harika.

On the other hand, there is a string of murders. The murders follow a pattern, which a police officer (Jayaram) and his assistant Ruha (Pujitha) uncover. It doesn't take long for them to figure out that Ravindra is performing them and evading capture by donning the identities of other people.

Ravindra abducts Saketh's (Sushanth) girlfriend and blackmails him into creating prosthetic faces. Why does Ravindra seem to be randomly killing people? How come he's become a Ravana?

Artistes’ Performances:   Ravi Teja gets to show off the dark side of his acting chops in this scene. With all his skill, he plays the complex character with two distinct sides very well. Despite the many other actors in the film, it is unquestionably his show.

Sushanth's job entails little more than making prosthetics and not much else. Although he tries his hardest, Jayaram’s character doesn't come across as a credible high-ranking police officer.

Hyper Adhi delivers his usual one-liners. Rao Ramesh has a superficial role, and his Telangana diction is also bad.

Megha Akash, Faria Abdullah, Daksha Nagarkar, and Pujitha Ponnada all have a presence, but they aren't given much scope to act. Megha Akash's role is the best among them. She also has a dual-shaded role. There is only one substantial scene for Pujitha Ponnada in the film. Anu Emmanuel gets a junior artiste role.

Technical Excellence: The cinematography is the noticeable feature among the technical work. Songs are neither catchy, nor do they make any impact. The remix song filmed on Ravi Teja and Megha Akash is also not effective. The story and screenplay is clumsy.

Analysis Although Srikanth Vissa was given credit for the story, it was actually adapted from the Bengali film “Vinci Da”. The Bengali film was very effective. The premise of the Bengali film was changed drastically by Srikanth Vissa and director Sudheer Varma, who also introduced an absurd conflict. The narrative is not effective.

Sudheer Varma made an effort to add "entertaining elements" to this suspenseful story. Therefore, we get to see Ravi Teja's comedy scenes with Faria Abdullah, Megha Akash, and Hyper Adhi for over half an hour in the beginning. However, instead of laughter, they bring on boredom. The director and writer have abandoned all sense of logic at this point.

The second half includes a pivotal turn that has to do with Megha Akash. It's puzzling how she could have "romanced" him into taking over her legal case. Hero Ravi Teja needed a heroine to sing and dance with, so the writers and director wrote this ‘romantic part’ forgetting about the logic and the plot twist in the second half. This shows how poor the writing in this film is.

The only time the film captures our attention is just before the intermission. The revelation of Ravi Teja's other side is interesting.

The big reveal in the film is formulaic. The title "Ravanasura" makes sense because Ravi Teja commits crimes under various guises, but the hero's motive doesn’t convince us.

Instead of presenting it as a dark thriller, Sudheer Varma tried to present it as a mass thriller, and the logic has gone completely out the window.

All in all, “Ravanasura” holds our interest in a couple of scenes, but it is weighed down by its own illogical plot twists and poor narrative. It neither thrills us nor entertains us.
